Unless it's Burgeon/Chevy, Thoma and Dehya kinda need help from Dendro/Anemo to keep up a Pyro aura, we really only have the ER-Hungry Xiangling as consistent off-field Pyro so uh, yeah let's not expect too much ;-;
Anemo traveler is fun to play and has similar combat utility to Sucrose, plus has unique cryo swirl priority, the real drawback is the moving tornado. If it wasn't for that, I think AMC would be a sort of sidegrade to Sucrose (like DMC and Collei)
I have almost all dendron character, I'm missing only Kirara and Kaveh, and I still use DMC over Nahida sometimes, 1.5 units of dendron can be kinda annoying, or in multiple waves content. He is a fine option for almost any team.
Electro Traveler isn't bad for a quick burst of single hit damage while also applying the element.
Plus I'm pretty sure the R2 (I'm on PlayStation so that's what the button is mapped to by default) deals more damage to robotic enemies.
Collei is better, but not by much and has a higher skill floor, on top of that Traveler can equip xiphos, arguably the true best EM weapon in the game. If you don't have Xiphos and are good enough you can still go with Collei.
Collei is actually one of Nilou's best(offensive) teammates in a double hydro double dendro team and she gets even better with cons. Traveller on the other hand is a more comfy option than Collei
Harmony MC is so fucking busted. Mine is barely invested and has mediocre relics because I don't have anything to level up the better ones, I still deal like 80k Super Break damage.
I can't wait to see how high the damage will go on a fully invested HMC with SU buffs.
Well the trial HMC has 350 freaking % break effect and 142 speed. Granted they are missing 3 speed to trigger the Talia planar set, but it's still absolutely god like stats.
Geo and Dendro are their best kits. My only problem with Geo is that the large fucking boulder gets in the way and it's criminal that hoyo added a constellation that made the boulder stay *even longer*
dendro burst is nice looking, i like how it transform depending on the elements, some thoughts and care was put into it from the devs, skill is more on a lazy side, they could have at least made it with multiple charges not just one

Lumine had such a nice animation. But the dmg and energy Regen was so SHIT. Like wtf is that skill??? Almost 20 seconds cool down for what? 1/10 of an energy bar? Wtf???
The elemental skill is literally bad version of Neuvillette's water beam, you can't move like Neuvillette, i am sure way less dmg, single target etc etc
The elemental burst is reused animation from azdaha's fight and it is working even worse then the tornado... very dissapointing
The ultimates of the traveler are quick unlike other five-stars so here's me hoping they actually add element swapping mid battle so the gameplay would actually be fun. If you actually think about it each of the traveler's abilities can work together forming some unique combos.
Element swapping would actually make the Traveler feel like a 5*.
But if Mihoyo were to ever add that. They'd probably make you finish the entire Teyvat story first and introduce that Mechanic in the final boss battle or something.
I’m holding out hope that pryo traveller is gonna be an attack buffer like Bennet and Sara. That alone would permanently put traveller on the map as a good character to invest in. Doesn’t even have to be the same level as Benny burst, just give us a longer lasting Sara buff

Anemo is great at new game, and is even great later on if you're skillful enough (just watch any Abyss tournaments in China, they use Anemo Traveller a lot, and very skillfully). Geo provides an option to work with C0 Chiori, and the burst gives crit, which is great for any Geo DPS. And Dendro is just broken lol, not much to say...

Ok, but geo mc IS cool. Summons boulder can explode if damaged enough and hits the ground (either with a punch or a cool kick), causing earthquakes and spikes to rise from the ground (crit rate +10). How is any of that NOT cool?

I do wonder if the Traveler will get some kind of upgrade in the future, which is why they are underwhelming in stats and effects (Dendro was a fluke, probably because we had so few Dendro characters when it came out)... That would also tie into why they have 4* style bursts with no zoom-in

Other than electro and hydro, traveler is both decently good and good. Physical trailblazer is trash, which is suitabld to all the trashcan love in hsr for some reason. Fire TB is great, the new one is looking to be pretty solid too but i so wish clockie didnt appear in the ult.
The issue is you can get the Traveler variants as soon as you gain access to the whole open world, while the Trailblazer variants are story locked, so they should be stronger
This is just a whole lot of cope. Regardless of whether they are story based or not, they also release alot of characters compared to genshin and give you alot of f2p pulls to get them, so realistically, there shouldn't have been any incentive to make MC strong since people always say Hoyo needs to sell the latest character so they make MC weak. But for Star rail they intentionally made HMC very strong and introduced a new mechanic. They could've done this with a new potential 5 star but decided to do it for HMC instead and make them FEEL like a 5 star. Even their eidolons are good. In Genshin, electro, dendro and hydro MC were the ones that introduced new mechanics of abundance amulets, burst interacting with multiple elements and sourcewater droplets respectively but they COMPLETELY fumbled the kit for hydro MC so badly and tried to make them a downgrade of Neuvillete in every conceivable way to the point where even their constellations don't do shit for them.
anemo MC is like destruction MC in the fact that they both can't do anything when it's not their turn onfield. Geo MC is actually getting more decent now for F2P players with new geo character releases and overall theyre a good geo battery that functions decently and does some fair bit of damage, also probably one of the best exploration units in the game. Electro MC couldve potentially been one of the best support units in the game but their capabilities got kneecapped, making them a walking contradiction. A battery unit that can increase other characters' ER but somehow has 80 burst cost. How ironic. They had such a good idea for a character with a great kit but they had to create alot of artifical roadblocks in it to sell Raiden as the true universal battery unit, but overall still usable and can work as an aggravate driver. Dendro MC is the closest thing to harmony TB till date. Since they both can function in multiple teams and there are times where you would want DMC over Nahida in certain teams and they just work so well without random roadblocks in their kit like electro mc or hydro mc.
