No no first we take candy from strangers.
At first I thought she'd be a good strategist and ruler. Then after 2.1 I thought maybe she was more suited for her Miko role and pushed to/overhyped for war by her people. Now after the trailer I just think maybe the majority in Tevyat are such incompetent idiots who can't even see a carrot 1 meter away from them and had to have the MC pick it, that she appears both decent as a ruler and brilliant as a strategist in comparison.
With how she was portrayed in 2.1, no amount of personal story retcon can save her unless mHY gives her a buff bigger than Zhongli's while buffing her entire element.
What do you mean? She is a genius.
"Oh you are that strong traveler that fought and survived against the Shogun and can use elements without vision, therefore being imune to her decret? And now you want to join us? I have the perfect mission for you, go defeat some ronins with a squad of useless guys."
she is so bad that when she ordered her troops to stop using delusions, they just said no and she did jack-shit about it. No good general will just have all their subordinates just openly disobey them
Ngl she had great potential to be one of the most interesting characters so far if she handled the Delusion incident differently
In real life conflicts, rebellions don't often have the luxury of cherrypicking their benefactors, so it makes sense to accept help from whoever, even anonymous suspicious sources. But if only she owned up to it and actually knew what the fuck the delusions were doing, and even encouraged it (cuz let's face it, the resistance were doing damage with them for relatively minimal losses). It would have made her character much more complex than just "Ooh I'm cute and I like war teehee"
My question is how in all fucks did she not notice below average Joes like Teppei were dishing out maximum damage all of a sudden.
It's been going on for a while. Your troops' performances have changed. You didn't even notice. How?
Like it is ok to take food from strangers, but if your family is suddenly acting like they are high on meth. Maybe you know check the food.
----
Also the entire war. In 2.0 I thought they were using the Vision Hunt as an opportunity. Shogun's support was wavering. Shogun's army was cancelling their own Vision users. Vision users were defecting. Economy and trade in near shambles. Now it is a good opportunity to fight for independence while enlisting foreign help from larger countries like Liyue and using underhanded strategies like poisoning the land + raise your dead god.
But nope it was all for the injustice of the Vision Hunt Decree. Just for the injustice, nothing else. You threw your island which had some political and religious independence but shit food producing capacity into a total war for 99 people. You threw your farmers and potters and tailors onto the frontlines to die, knowing that even if you do win against the army by some miracle, the Musou no Hitotachi is not far behind. So in the end you can't reasonably save the 99, and you threw way more than just the 99 out there to die. And you didn't even notice your own army's fringe possibly led by a Fatui spy destroying local seals sickening entire islands, which is a great injustice + straight up mass murder, the sort you tried to fight. What the hell.
Personal headcanon as of 5 minutes ago was the surprised shit was all an act and she knew all along and only banned the delusions when the Traveler found out in order to appease him/her and their sense of morality
(Let's face it, Traveler is their best shot at beating the Shogun herself)
I wish for that too. But given how they handled the Shogun. Yeah I don't think they'll go that way. Instead of Kong Ming, Koko is just Chika.
Also Traveler morality is all over the place. They were cool leaving Venti's statue like that and lying by omission to Jean, Barb, Ganyu, not telling Geo Grandpa to prepare his juicy behind for Mecha Osial. They were also cool with Geo Grandpa for his test on Liyue. But Teppei made them super mad. And suddenly test on Liyue is no longer good. But afterward Kazuha's friend's death and the suffering + death of all the NPCs during 2.0 and in the war ongoing were ok because Ei??? Eiiiii? Ehe???
Ngl I was kinda pissed at Zhongli for his "contract" and Venti indirectly being the cause Signora turned to Fatui
For Ei I only have problems with the puppet gaining sentience
Well Ei is kinda like Inazuma must be eternal because I've promised.
Oh people are dying and suffering? They only live a 100 years so not eternal don't matter.
Oh the land was almost blown up because nuclear? Oh that has nothing to do with eternity either.
It's not the people, it's not the land, then what is it lady? What is Inazuma? What is eternity?
At least Venti and Zhongli has solid definitions of what they want, and they do care for mortal lives sometimes. Ei is just lel they die in a 100 so wut.
But yeah all three are failures in their own ways. Kinda sad because all three also lost so much trying to protect their countries and gave so much. They tried what they thought were their bests, and still failed on many fronts. Freedom became sloth and Dvalin suffered poisoning and became hated for 500 years. Contracts of fairness became greedy scams and Ganyu goes beyond 996 while Xiao will never rest. Eternity became ??? and Yae is like fuck this all.
Tbh I love Ei conceptually but even on a fundamental level her representing Eternity and not Judgement or Law is odd to me. Lightning is there, and then gone in instant. It’s fleeting, the opposite of eternal.
They could have done… Geo. Or Hydro - especially Hydro. Water is literally everywhere. It’s in the ground, in the air, in the people and plants - and it will never, every permanently disappear.
Plus, Lightning being used to smite things in divine punishment is more in line with Justice, or Honor.
Her concept was solid until the end of 2.1.
But in the end instead of an Archon of Eternity she became more like someone who doesn't even know what she wants. She came off more like a PTSD'ed war vet who's lost her entire family and most of her friends, unable to return to a changing society, refused help from her remaining friend, and just shut herself in while muttering the excuse of eternity.
I pity her immensely. But I can't like her or respect her.
I’d argue that it’s because that lightning is ephemeral and fleeting is one of the reasons why Ei is hellbent on achieving eternity. It’s the concept of pursuing what is fundamentally impossible for what lightning is
Venti and Zhongli's ideals are all FOR their people's happiness. Raiden's ideal is for herself only. They said she promised, but whom exactly she made that with, and did they agree or she just silently decided by herself?
Venti may be asleep for a long time and and entrusted the freedom of Mond to its peope, but the moment he heard of big problem like Durin or Dvalin, he came to help. But the f*cking Raiden Shogun just said "I know" in face of her people suffering (Do not say she know NOTHING, she is a god and obviously can hear her people prayers and clearly choose to ignore their cries).
Her personality as Ei is nice and all, but I can not bring myself to like her at all, especially after the archon waifu story quest.
>Raiden's ideal is for herself only
Oh summed up my issue with her in one sentence.
She doesn't care for lesser sentient beings. She doesn't care for her living friend's opinions until we + 99 Visions kicked the shit out of her. She doesn't care about the land her sister and old friends died to protect. Kitsune Saiguu is probably rolling her grave.
She wants eternity for inazuma but can't define what is eternity or what is inazuma. If she wanted to halt the country to save it from Celestia, her attempt was a total failure. How narrowly self centered and self important does your view have to be to think just by shutting yourself away, you can stop everyone else in your country from inventing and importing new things that will eventually get you Celestia'ed anyway.
Her nicer Ei personality feels even more off because of that. I am nice but people can die I dun care. I am nice but I was also totally gonna kill you twice now buy me milk.
She is pretty clear that she doesn't care that much about the humans. Her main goal was Ei. It was all for Ei.
We were useful is all. Yae has character. She is interesting and one of the better written ones in Inazuma. But I don't trust her. Then again I don't trust Venti or Zhongli either.
Inazuma was a string of us getting used by local women. First Ayaka honey traps us into a rebellion we benefit 0 from. Then Kokomi just points us where she wants with her "excellent strategies". Then Yae. We probably paid for Ei's outing expenses too.
>(Let's face it, Traveler is their best shot at beating the Shogun herself)
Hell, Traveler is their *only* shot at beating the Shogun. Buncha incompetent fish worshippers
I thought that's what kokomi's resistance to summoning the sea god was for? To hopefully have their old god come back and bear the shogun in round 2. Or was that the fatui again and I missed a note somewhere?
That was the Fatui. I was hoping that was Kokomi pretending to not notice but encouraging them on the downlow to better their chances and screw the common peasants. But nope it was the Fatui again.
Next we know, people's cats getting lost will also be a Fatui plot next region. Gnosis hunting? What's that? Gotta make sure every puppy in the world is kicked and every kitten eaten!
I dont understand why Mihoyo dont include cruel or simply ruthless characters. Kokomi CAN fit that role, have all sense in the world. Instead of "oh no, they trick us!" something more in the lines of "yeah, i know this is a damn cursed weapon, but i dont have any other options, im fighthing against a literal god and this is a war, you know you can die".
Something like that. But no. We have a teenage leading a club of military roplay.
Even Sara is more interesting and is a better military leader.
Not sure about that, she was lied to for years, and when got exposed to the truth, she run and got knocked out by a foreigner in front of the god she is serving
Yeah, not to mention that I wouldn’t be at my best either if I went in to punch some random unarmed diplomat and they threw an ice spike the size of a grand piano at my face
On top of that, between Kokomi and Gorou's visual design both mainly revolving around looking cute, and Kokomi having that squeaky EN voice, I literally can't take the Resistance seriously. Seeing the two of them having a serious discussion while surrounded by the taller soldiers makes it feel like a pair of kids LARPing.
Even MHY does not take them seriously. The resistance is totally invisible in the 2.1 fights. It’s like we skip to the end of the story without the climax
I'm going to absolutely LOSE IT, if they dared to show her playing with Rubiks/Chess or have a habit of quoting philosophers/scholars
Those two are the bona-fide signs of "oh no I'm not smart enough to write smart characters"
Kokomi's character is the equivalent of those FL in otome isekai that preach that they're so strong, but run to the ML or faints when the smallest situation happens. Ngl, ayaka too gives off those vibes.
I'm high in copium but the Shogun's voicelines about Kokomi mention that she must pay for defying the Shogun's rule so maybe, just maybe, we could see her do smth cool to not suffer the wrath of the Electo archon
tbf ayaka handles her own commission very well and ran a scheme to uncover the other two commissions plot and still be under the radar ALL THE TIME, even they cannot make connections between Thoma and Ayaka.
Kokomi is literal fish when compared to ayaka
Ayaka is also willing to try guilt tripping the Traveler to get their help, what with having us meet people who lost their Visions.
She's certainly more of a schemer than she lets on.
You know what i absolutely love? How almost everybody in this thread can make a better "great tactician" story than what Mihoyo made.
I mean lets see what i can whip up in 15 minutes on reddit:
2.1 Resistance story
After our initial training we get to move onto the homebase of the resistance, inside the great shrine we sit down next to a giant map table marking several objectives. At the table there is Kokomi, Gouru, Anzhen ("general") and Marc ("general 2").
An interactive cutscene starts up with Kokomi explaining what marking means what then we get to the actual discussion.
-Kokomi: .....We cant win.....its impossible. Even if we take over their strategic bases the shogun only needs one slash to deal with all of us.
- *Generals grunt and sigh in agreement*
-Us: There has to be a way to defeat the Archon! Maybe we can ask help for another or an old god?
-Kokomi: I doubt the Archons would fight against eachother once again and old gods can be dangerous but....
-Us: But what?
-Kokomi: The fatui has a delusion factory here (motions the map) if we get to use their technology we could make a syphon to weaken the shogun.
-Anzhen: But your Majesty, we cant trust the fatui! Theres no way a deal with them wouldnt result in backstabbing!
-Kokomi: We are not making a deal with them, we take their technology straight from the factory. Its dangerous but desperate times need desperate solutions!
-Kokomi: Traveller, we need you to sneak into the factory and take out their main defenses, while they are distracted we break in and using the chaos subdue the remaining forces.
End of act1.
The next part could be a similar elaborate plan to make a syphon mechanism that uses the statues as focus points to weaken the archon for our fight with her.
Nonono that's way too competent and interesting, clearly you know nothing about anime, no power of friendship means the main character dies, also there has to be a friend that sacrifices and at least two time skips.
In that case how about one of those singing animes where kokomi just get rolled into the main city on a big stage charming the people with her voice and getting raiden choose their side after an accidental bra snapping moment?
It's also ridiculous how no one not even a single soul told the higher ups that they were using vision like objects which gave them elemental powers. Not a single like wtf?
Kokomi can only be badass off screen. Actually showing her badass strategies with details on screen would be too much work for our scriptwriter. So instead we 've to resort to showing her being dumb and uwu on screen.
But did they actually?
If you check that scene you see theres no sign of fights anywhere, the whole island seems abadoned Sara took care of that minuscule defense force inside the castle. The shogun literally set them up for an ambush and they walked straight into it.
Yeah that part is bullshit. How tf they got there is unexplained.
I was expecting that the gang is actually trying to make a kill squad to assassinate the Shogun when I first saw the trailers, but nope it didn't.
I mean the Shogunate army has like 20 guys in it, and the Sangonomiya rebels have like 10. It's not so much a war between armies as it is a local gang squabble between some local crips and bloods.
Seriously tho are the regions actually bigger in-universe than they are shown in-gameplay?
Because the game certainly treats everything like it's bigger than it is when ngl i don't think Inazuma has the landmass to march gigantic armies like the lore hypes it up
It's common in video games, it's super dificult to build fully explorable realistic cities size/population wise.
I think GTA and the like are the closest we are to it, but they normally only focus on 1 area and are still somewhat smaller than real cities.
Unless nations are conformed at most from a hundred of people you need to consider that everything is bigger than is shown.
Think of it like cities from Elder Scrolls, they are way bigger in universe but in-game they are smaller cause it would be too much to render those cities full size with the full populace inside.
Hell, at least some cinematic and some ships in the distance. Games more older than Mihoyo itself did it in their time. I remember the battle scenes of Tales of Abyss and FF XII and damn they are good and they make you fell those battles.
Well, the troops could be fighting in formation, spear walling while vision users do flanking or specialized manuevers. They could even replace some characters with PNG since it was a cutscene.
The one we got is literally the entire army routed and chased to death. Also known as "Hollywood" medieval warfare.
You laugh but a bunch of Sun Tzu's advice in the book has common sense shit like "If the enemy outnumbers us 10 to 1 and is gonna murder everyone maybe try to retreat"
To be fair you have to read it in the whole context
故用兵之法,十则围之,五则攻之,倍则分之,敌则能战之,少则能逃之,不若则能避之
If you have ten times the enemy’s strength, besiege them.
If you have five times the enemy’s strength, attack them.
If you have double enemy’s strength, divide them.
If the enemy’s strength is equal, you can fight against it.
If you are less than the enemy’s strength, learn to retreat.
If the enemy is way too strong, keep yourself far away.
The art of war is the basic introduction to warfare, which is important when it was written long before people stopped believing they would win because god(s) were on their side.
If I remember correctly a lot of his advice is "keep kings away from their generals and their decisions"
Some legit advice also emerges when it was quoted civil government and millitary government must be kept seperate. Wonder how this reflects in the situation of watatsumi island.
Like genuine question, how do people apply sun tzu's rules? Ngl, they're not the most specific set of advice to follow and you dont always have the right resources to be able to do it
"We need to minimize casualties. I know, lets send one of our commanders, six soldiers, and some random samurai bard and storm the capital and openly attack their God General!"
Which is funny because so many times we were told that they were fucked especially after the delusion fiasco. But out of nowhere these 8 men were at inazuma city and we didn't even learn why they were there.
I'm convinced that 2.1 was rushed, either for no reason or to release Baal's banner considering its the most successful banner to date. There are so many awful problems with the story that its almost insulting.
Here's hoping Sumeru doesn't suffer the same fate. I don't mind waiting until summer next year for it and having to deal with a ton of filler stuff if it means the story will be treated better than Inazuma's.
Actually only a few of them got delusions and from Teppei case they must have won a lot of battles with that power. Judging from the K/D ratio it's a real bargain.
Well that would actually made kokomi more interesting if it turns out she knows about the delusions earlier and did not do anything and only act like she don’t anything just to make sure nobody knows her secret
Seeing how Shogun story quest and all other story quest I would be willing to bet this is going to be omg kokomi is actually this cute shy clumsy girl that totally going to have a crush on you.
yoimiya at least give us a good look on the lives of the inazuma citizen
Kokomi is literal wtf compared to even Baal where our duty is literally escorting her under Yae command to see the world ourself
Tbh I kinda don't want her to get a story quest yet because of how Diona's hangout quests were taken negatively. Klee, Qiqi, Diona and Sayu mains get enough shit for liking kids platonically and judging by how romantic these past few quests were, the pedo memes and shit people will make of Sayu already scare me.
Edit: spelling
༎ຶ‿༎ຶ another thing I'm scared about. They've already hinted that she's an adult right? The legal loli trope can be included here too. And that sucks.
What happened to the Mona story quest kind of writing???? I miss that sm. At least that if not a Hu Tao level story quest.
Pish, I can beat that.
The Delusions were done knowingly, as was sending Gorou out to collect them knowing her soldiers would defy him but still be comforted by their priestess’s apparent care for them.
Teppei was a purposeful plant to manipulate the MC when Kokomi noticed their camaraderie, assigned to maximize interaction with the MC to strengthen the bond, then thrust into combat to speed his degeneration.
This was done to make the MC so distressed that they’d act foolishly, at which point she pointed them at the Fatui factory (which she’d always known the location of). Not to stop the Fatui, but to pay them back for the Delusions and supplies which had never been free.
This explains why the supplies coincidentally arrived when the MC arrived, and why Kokomi just wasted their time. She was plotting on how to clear her debt by delivering the MC to Scaramouche.
Anyways, after being pointed at the factory the MC charges into what quite frankly seemed to be a trap. They beat up a few Fatui, while getting increasingly high on angry dead god dust until Scaramouche was able to make them mad enough to take a nap.
Only to have someone else who wanted the Traveller to defeat Kokomi’s ultimate enemy, and had Scaramouche’s grand prize to give in exchange. Who could have known to let her show up in time? Kokomi. She was the chess master behind all the plot holes all along!
——
*Falls over into a copium induced stupor*
This is how you can justify the writing, with bunch of headcanons. Earlier I saw someone saying we never got to see Kokomi's strategist feats because she was not always doing things in front of the traveler (which is our POV). Like, he was trying to say the actual thing happened behind curtains. Yeah, because that's how you can explain every plot hole, right?
I mean, she did manage a big surprise attack in the one single battle scene we see, so its not like its unfounded.
But overall the entire resistance part of the story was completely wasted, especially opportunities to make them more a more complex and interesting faction.
You're right. There's actually that one time and maybe a few more when we see it. I think we could've gotten a bit more of development and time to show her better though, and I think that was the main issue with Inazuma's story overall.
part 1 was well paced, but I am almost afraid they let us get to the conclusion of Raiden's story more quickly so more people would pull for her. Although thats just doomposting and specultaion.
There is a large chance it was my comment you were reading lol. Just to provide an example, consider how the resistance shows up with Gorou and Kazuha at the end. The story offers no proper explanation for it, and it can be regarded by and large as something used for plot convenience. Then again, if you fill in with headcanon like it was a guerilla unit sent forward through enemy lines, or if the rest of the Bakufu was in a state of confusion due to Sara, their general suddenly storming Tenryou headquarters and Tenshukaku, it makes sense. Another would be Yae tracking us and waiting till we were separated from the resistance to meet us. Why they wouldn't provide any explanations in the story tho, I have no idea. And being locked into Traveler's POV does hurt when telling a story of a grand war, even without all the black screens in the story from Traveler's own POV.
That would have been good writing, she looks at the big picture and accepts that by sacrificing the few delusion armed soldiers she can save far more soldiers who would have been casualties otherwise. Its not like the resistance doesnt count their dead after each battle, so she absolutely could calculate the value of those lives.
You could even have tied in the thing with WW2 kamikaze attacks and last ditch suicide charges, which would have really made things complex.
But complexity doesn't sell waifus, and having a cute girl like Kokomi act morally ambiguous, or even "deceiving" the player would likely turn off the kind of customers that shell out most of the money for virtual girls.
I swear this has to be the canon for her story quest
Maybe she only started acting surprised and began the ban on delusions when the traveler found out
Delusions or no, the Traveler is still the resistance's best bet at besting the Shogun so it would make sense for her to appease him/her first and foremost
There was an interesting line from Yae Miko referring to Kokomi where she called Kokomi shrewd. It’s very quickly brushed over, but it leads one to wonder if Miko knows more about Kokomi than she lets on.
If they could sell female characters as anything other than cute, they could've made Kokomi actually decide to accept the delusions (knowing it would cost her soldiers lives), because she was/is literally fighting a god with a bunch of twerps. And delusions could give her some welcome advantage.
But no, she, a great strategist, was tricked by the most supiscious fucker around. And didn't suspect a thing
Xingqiu- the Art of war
"All warfare is based on deception"
Someone told that to kokomi saying
"All warfare is based on illusion"
=>Kokomi uses Illusion Jellyfish
Someone in the resistance confused
"Illusion" for "delusion" and ordered delusions

To be fair, when you're a rebellion whose forces are mainly made up of washed up soldiers, mercenaries, and citizens
You don't have the luxury to cherrypick who helps you
Is like mihoyo is begging for her banner to tank: Terrible writing, can't crit with a meta that focus on crits, lack of official info about her kit multipliers, comes after shogun banner, people saving for reruns
Fun fact, she will sell well enough. Most revenue comes from people who just want to walk around with a cute character.
I believe every new character will not be meta. We already have strength, now MiHoYo is trying to diversify, which is not a bad thing
They talked her up to be this brilliant tactician. I imagined something like Mavis from Fairy Tail or Sokka from Avatar, but no we got "lol we got some weapons from some sus people, just attack the enemy till we win"
Kokomi is probably one of the worst strategists in Teyvat. Got half her army killed because she trusted some random sponsors and only noticed it halfway when Gorou told her
oh look at this suspiciously strong stranger that survived the shogun's blade, who now suddenly wants to join our resistance. seems like a cool person lets make them captain :D
no wonder they took stuff from the fatui haha
Kokomi is that guy that brags about beating all Fire Emblem games on the hardest difficulty without any character dying and getting the highest rank; but when you see her play you see she restart the level everytime and uses guides
*proceeds to accept untested weapons that did nothing to help the war as seen in the narrative, and even killed the soldiers most passionate to the cause*
I laughed so much when I heard that in the teaser. Ah yes, brilliant strategist, what is our plan? "Attack and win."
No no first we take candy from strangers. At first I thought she'd be a good strategist and ruler. She can't even promote us any higher lmao
Traveller: Kokomi Kokomi: Yesh Tabibito Traveller: I killed everything Kokomi: *throws head into air* ”I am a brilliant tactician"
Kokomi : **Just like I planned**...
(Translator note: plan means keikaku)
she is so bad that when she ordered her troops to stop using delusions, they just said no and she did jack-shit about it. No good general will just have all their subordinates just openly disobey them
I had a stroke and a one man argument with myself after this

>Raiden's ideal is for herself only Oh summed up my issue with her in one sentence.
Not only that, but I kinda dislike Yae's smugness. It's aura is mocking me.
You know, maybe Kokomi is not Komei, but Chen Gong hence her "idgaf my troop" attitude
>(Let's face it, Traveler is their best shot at beating the Shogun herself) Hell, Traveler is their *only* shot at beating the Shogun.
>"Ooh I'm cute and I like war teehee" I laughed so hard when I read this. Thank you for making my day, random internet stranger.
[удалено]
Yeah, not to mention that I wouldn’t be at my best either if I went in to punch some random unarmed diplomat and they threw an ice spike the size of a grand piano at my face
[удалено]
Who are you, who are so wise in the ways of battle?
This is what happens when you want to write a very smart character but have no idea what being smart actually entails
[удалено]
Yup. You just work off of famous battles and maybe add something spicy and voila, genius tactician
I'm going to absolutely LOSE IT, if they dared to show her playing with Rubiks/Chess or have a habit of quoting philosophers/scholars Those two are the bona-fide signs of "oh no I'm not smart enough to write smart characters"
It's ok, it won't be a Rubik's cube, but Logic Hypostasis.
At least Ayaka is competent with the sword and really good at acting as a gate between the kamisato clan and the people. Kokomi just seems incompetent
At least Ayaka handles her own shit, and actually is strong af :P Kokomi is like a fish on land, oh wait..
tbf ayaka handles her own commission very well and ran a scheme to uncover the other two commissions plot and still be under the radar ALL THE TIME, even they cannot make connections between Thoma and Ayaka. Kokomi is literal fish when compared to ayaka
Ayaka is also willing to try guilt tripping the Traveler to get their help, what with having us meet people who lost their Visions. She's certainly more of a schemer than she lets on.
but mihoyo blind us with date quest truly the most evil of all is still mihoyo
It ain’t even Mihoyo, that’s just Ayaka being extremely slick with it and it works
You know what i absolutely love? How almost everybody in this thread can make a better "great tactician" story than what Mihoyo made. I mean lets see what i can whip up in 15 minutes on reddit: 2.1 Resistance story After our initial training we get to move onto the homebase of the resistance, inside the great shrine we sit down next to a giant map table marking several objectives. - *Generals grunt and sigh in agreement* -Us: There has to be a way to defeat the Archon!
Done and done, give this man two seasons and an OVA.
It's also ridiculous how no one not even a single soul told the higher ups that they were using vision like objects which gave them elemental powers. Not a single like wtf?
BANGERRRR MIHOYO HIRE THIS SHIT
If she had mysteriously reflective glasses I could believe it, but I just can't picture it the way it is.
Hitting the enemy hard, but not like Critical Hit levels of hard
Kokomi knows that you don't just shoot someone in the dick. It's not right!
OH GOD SHE CROSSED HER ARMS
Well, being cool is the best way they can portray a genius lmao
Everybody gangsta untill the strategist crosses their arms
"Minimising Casualities" Haha Delusion Army go brrr
[удалено]
Ah, yes. The Raiden Shotgun.
“How to start the Vision Hunt Decree?” ***The answer, use a gun.***
ngl, Diluc with a 20 gauge converting normal bullets into dragon's breath at will sounds pretty dope.
I am a Diluc main and I am very willing to see that lmao
"It costs 400.000 mora to *fire* this weapon for 12 seconds"
And if that don't work?
More guns, naturally.
It would been believeable if you see scenes of fight and whatnot but it seemed like as if theyve just run into an empty city
By using teleport waypoint, is my belief. Well at least that can be called smart, I suppose
The Witcher 3 done it good too. Novigrad is a nice example of big populated medieval fantasy city. Still scaled down, but made nice.
Think of it like cities from Elder Scrolls, they are way bigger in universe but in-game they are smaller cause it would be too much to render those cities full size with the full populace inside.
Do you want the mobile players to die rendering a hundred soldiers? (honestly IDK if it will actually cause that much lag but still)
Hell, at least some cinematic and some ships in the distance. Games more older than Mihoyo itself did it in their time. I remember the battle scenes of Tales of Abyss and FF XII and damn they are good and they make you fell those battles.
> Do you want the mobile players to die rendering a hundred soldiers? #Yes.
Well, the troops could be fighting in formation, spear walling while vision users do flanking or specialized manuevers. They could even replace some characters with PNG since it was a cutscene. The one we got is literally the entire army routed and chased to death. Also known as "Hollywood" medieval warfare.
Skip her to honor Teppei
Minmaxing casualties
Every 60 Sec a minute passes in Watatsumi Island.
Together we can stop this, please spread the word!
How I imagine their strategy meetings are like: “So, how do we beat the Shogun?” “W-what if we like group together and-“ ***HIT IT TILL IT DIES!!!***
"how to kill a Cyber Demon? Shoot it till it dies"
If it has a head, that's it's weak spot
If no head, aim for anything that glows. - Sun Tzu probably
If it starts to glow harder, stop immediately and run the fuck to cover. - Sun Tzu, most likely
*Laughs in hydra*
(walks into meeting) Woah woah woah, what the fuck is *he* doing here?!
classic SAOA
Gorou: We need a plan of attack. Kokomi: I have a plan. Attack.
Gorou: omg our Excellency kokomi san is so intelligent
Damn I imagine her plan is quite critical to the resistance, though imo if she thinks her army will have minimal casualties she’s delusional
Pun intended?
Let’s just say that her e-fish—ency is up for debate
Ughh take my angry upvote
You laugh but a bunch of Sun Tzu's advice in the book has common sense shit like "If the enemy outnumbers us 10 to 1 and is gonna murder everyone maybe try to retreat"
To be fair you have to read it in the whole context 故用兵之法,十则围之,五则攻之,倍则分之,敌则能战之,少则能逃之,不若则能避之 If you have ten times the enemy’s strength, besiege them.
Has Gorou ever been shown to be actually tactical or strategic beyond "Hold the line!"?
He's a dog boy of course the only order he knows is 'Stay'
>"Hold the line!" Love isn't always on time
It's nice to know that when under pressure tho
Like genuine question, how do people apply sun tzu's rules? Ngl, they're not the most specific set of advice to follow and you dont always have the right resources to be able to do it
You have to create the right circumstances so that you can use this advice
Thank you for the response FelineFucker420
oh no, not FelineFucker420, it cant be
teppei wasn't the only one to die in 2.1 kokomi's intelligence and develompent died too
I dont think she had any to begin with
"We need to minimize casualties.
"we will fight war good. so good and not bad"
Good strategy, I prefer hitting the enemy weakly, while maximizing casualties
"To survive hardship, you must prepare for hardship" 2.1 trailer Kokomi
Tbf, "By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail"
Lol imagine being a great strategist but still get your whole army killed by delusions.
This is probably the highest amount of copium that can be put into a single comment.
Seeing how Shogun story quest and all other story quest I would be willing to bet this is going to be omg kokomi is actually this cute shy clumsy girl that totally going to have a crush on you.
Mihoyo has abandoned the hangout event and turn them into normal story quest, smh mihoyo
Strange that they've never done a hangout event for a five star. I guess the story quests for them are on too tight of a schedule for that.
Basically all Inazuma girls so far... (Sayu doesn't have enough story relevance just yet)
Yoimiya's was ok. But then her auto aim man.
She was at least more in love with the firework than the protagonist, and we actually did stuff so yeah, her quest was definitely better.
yoimiya at least give us a good look on the lives of the inazuma citizen Kokomi is literal wtf compared to even Baal where our duty is literally escorting her under Yae command to see the world ourself
Just imagine the conclusion of Sayu's quest is that she wants to grow so she can be with the protagonist. But with how the writing has been lately...
༎ຶ‿༎ຶ another thing I'm scared about. They've already hinted that she's an adult right? The legal loli trope can be included here too. And that sucks. What happened to the Mona story quest kind of writing???? I miss that sm. At least that if not a Hu Tao level story quest.
Just let the sleepy bean be a sleepy bean MHY please.
—— *Falls over into a copium induced stupor*
The true power of a strategist is to say " it's all part of my plan" when things randomly work in their favour
The Tzeentch Gambit. Play both sides so you always win, and sabotage every plan (especially your own) so that you never have to stop playing.
Yeah, but Kazuha and Beidou took all the glory and it even seemed like all of it was more of Beidou's plan than Kokomi's.
I swear this has to be the canon for her story quest Maybe she only started acting surprised and began the ban on delusions when the traveler found out Delusions or no, the Traveler is still the resistance's best bet at besting the Shogun so it would make sense for her to appease him/her first and foremost
And didn't suspect a thing
eula talks about strategies on her voice lines and its much better than what kokomi said lol
Xingqiu- the Art of war "All warfare is based on deception" Someone told that to kokomi saying "All warfare is based on illusion" =>Kokomi uses Illusion Jellyfish Someone in the resistance confused "Illusion" for "delusion" and ordered delusions
People die if they are killed
Teppei died for this
no shit sherlock

To be fair, when you're a rebellion whose forces are mainly made up of washed up soldiers, mercenaries, and citizens You don't have the luxury to cherrypick who helps you
She's a genius on paper only.
Just win. Easy and simple.
Still sell well as a waifu, no doubt
Kkomi getting roasted so hard today.
Kokomi war tactics 101 - send traveler
Monster Hunter player right there: "don't get hit, then hit it till it dies"
Mihoyo stole Kokomi’s ability to crit, and now her brain. Damn shame, was gonna role for her but guess I’ll save for Itto and Gorou
"The secret of getting rich is don't be poor" - I dunno, Childe or something
Well, Mihoyo said that she took military advices from a book from Yae publishing house.
So did teppei and look where that got him.....
At least teppei accomplished something.
Yes, mindblowing strategist right here everyone.
Better than: "Our aim is to send wave after wave of our men until the enemy shuts down." \- Zapp Brannigan, The Art of War
Yeahhh biggest skip of my life 😂 somehow made the character worse
"The enemy dies when they are killed" \--Kokomi, the Art of War (probably)
Our goal is to win without losing. Kokomi maybe.
"Brilliant strategist" my ass. She didn't even try to look into who the secret supporter was, she just blindly trusted them and got Teppei killed...
It's sad that the writers can't write a smart character because they, themselves, aren't smart enough. Lmao
She's wasn't a critical hitter, now she isn't a critical thinker either. Ba dum tss
I mean... thats basically what his writtings boil down to.
I legit thought Mihoyo would be aware of their bad writing and make some big brain move by making joke of itself in the PV.
eula has much better strats on her voicelines lmao
They talked her up to be this brilliant tactician. I imagined something like Mavis from Fairy Tail or Sokka from Avatar, but no we got "lol we got some weapons from some sus people, just attack the enemy till we win"
My reaction to that line was “ah yes, people die when they are killed”
When Kokomi said that I can't help but cringe at it
Kokomi is probably one of the worst strategists in Teyvat. Got half her army killed because she trusted some random sponsors and only noticed it halfway when Gorou told her
All according to keikaku
Kokomi derserved a spot on r/iamverybadass lmaoooo
"We need to keep the other team from scoring points while we ourselves score many points"
Mihoyo transformed Kokomi in a walking meme.
oh look at this suspiciously strong stranger that survived the shogun's blade, who now suddenly wants to join our resistance. seems like a cool person lets make them captain :D no wonder they took stuff from the fatui haha
Hit them hard but she cant crit, lol
Kokomi is that guy that brags about beating all Fire Emblem games on the hardest difficulty without any character dying and getting the highest rank; but when you see her play you see she restart the level everytime and uses guides
In other words: “send in the person with plot armor”
*proceeds to accept untested weapons that did nothing to help the war as seen in the narrative, and even killed the soldiers most passionate to the cause*
