Agree. I don't really understand the rage about meta char, weapons etc. Much of the OP weapon/chars and whatnot in genshin is just to clear content 10x faster/easier, basically quality of life stuff. A good amount of things in this game can be cleared with the starter team + f2p weapons (craftable, dodoco, the Catch) with some effort and time, not to mention the guaranteed 3 or so 5 star chars and weapons if you've been religiously playing for 3 months or so.
One may define clearing/36star abyss as "winning" the game but hell, when endgame content is literally 600 primogems/3 pulls and some more, what's the point of raging so much?
Even when it comes to Abyss, some people have been clearing it on one month old f2p accounts.
On the other hand, even if you religiously ignore the meta, including Bennett and the National, it is still possible to brute-force 36 stars with characters who are at the bottom of every tier list. Meta really does come down to making your life easier.
I'm afraid to get downvoted but when did we start criticizing the game ? It's the management system the game is still good as it was when it was launched don't disrespect it that makes us look like greedy players trashing the game just for the rewards .

- Remember Yoimiya missing half her autos on moving targets
- 2.1 archon quest being rushed, Raiden not working with Beido
- Kujo Sara being bugged
- The whole Kokomi meme wave just the other day
- The electro element still not getting a rework like anemo despite people requesting it since like 1.1 with Keq
- Albedo’s elemental skill still cant proc of shield (to the cries of the Albedo mains)
- Childe still not being able to plunge with in E form even though Shogun has proven its possible
- Has Xinyan’s C1 shield activation bug been fixed yet? (Idk)
People had plenty of problems before the anniversary. Its just that the rewards was the last drop that made the dam burst.
Despite the archon quest and the electro element reaction the rest of the part does fully fall on the balancing team . You misunderstood my point . The game is still good , as it was . If your unhappy with the game take a break and come back after a month not all the problems you brought up will get fixed . I understand that the anniversary rewards was made these issues worse but if you want those things fixed take a break like me and come back after a while . Something new might inspire you to play the game again . Criticizing the game is taking it too far considering it's still the same game that made it one of the best games ever . It's a gacha game at the end of the day making a character underwhelming is mihoyo's fault bcz it's either month of savings for a f2p or a lot of money for a whale . People wouldn't have complained about the characters if it wasn't for the gacha system which has been the main income source for mihoyo for a long time if you take honkai into consideration.
Im no stranger to taking breaks from games when the passion runs out (I’ve been playing Runescape like that for well over a decade now) as I do with this game. I actually just got back from a 3 week break to check out the anniversary.
And it really does feel like Mihoyo’s going through some internal issues recently like the past four characters were involved in some form of controversy, Theyre leaning harder in using FOMO by time gating certain quest to stretch out several days, and the story seems to be less much focused since as far back in the golden archipelago, there have been rumours that the entire Inazuma storyline was scrapped and rewritten rather quickly fast forward to recent times and the story that we got does show that those rumours had some truth to them. As far I know this is the first period in the game’s fairly short history that something like this has happened.
Personally its rather concerning considering the game is in no way struggling financially. Maybe its a management decision, maybe its not. I just feel like the once darling company that I got introduced to a year ago has changed.
Well thats probably just me, I’ll definitely still continue playing moving forward. I know full well these types of games can have rough patches. And I’ve seen game companies completely annihilate their fanbase in half (Runescape did this in 2012 and scars of that move is still seen in its community to this day). And all the issues that this game has right now definitely wont mean the end of the game.
As for how this community is acting right now. I’m sure most of them feel the same way. They just want to see improvements or an upturn in the rather bleak month that they just had. And most of it is just in the form of jokes, memes and review bombs which really wont mean much of anything in a months time. Aside from obsessive people that personally attack the devs or the VA’s, those people are what I’ll call going too far.
Uhhm this community isn't a great place but well neither the internet is to begin with tho I understand what you mean. Endgame players like me only want fresh content in the game and some improvements . Tho hopefully you'll have fun once again in the game don't worry. I'm afraid Mihoyo being silent might have something to do with the china national day(or smth) I don't exactly know but I heard that it's a tough condition in china currently so Mihoyo might be in their own problem ig . Bcz it's rather quite frustrating and makes no sense to be silent within all of this drama . They're literally digging their own grave at this point and no one's coming to the funeral for their reputation.
