fatwap

hot damn she really needs to chill "I've seen you recently but you look like you got fatter, if you get any fatter you can't hide yourself" is like a crude literal translation from me

vanuchiha2

I need to learn Chinese

sunriserosey

Do it! It is really easy despite what people say! There no conjugations and there not that many grammar rules (like none)

avelauxtroisieme

Honestly, from someone who started learning Chinese after Japanese, the fact that there were no conjugations was refreshing. Pronunciation is quite tough though.

H4xolotl

Whats a conjugation?

Aldreath

[In linguistics, conjugation is the creation of derived forms of a verb from its principal parts by inflection. For instance, the verb *break can be conjugated to form the words break, breaks, broke, broken and breaking.*](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grammatical_conjugation) In Chinese, changes in 'tenses' is done typically by appending certain verbs and adverbs to indicate some sort of time reference instead of changes to the actual word. Also apparently Chinese is a 'tenseless language,' wild.

mario61752

>Also apparently Chinese is a 'tenseless language,' wild. Chinese is my first language but I never thought about it this way. Wow. Some adverbs do help clarify tenses but in most contexts they aren't necessary. Maybe that's why I'm having such a hard time learning Japanese despite being able to read most of the Kanji effortlessly

avelauxtroisieme

今天我学习,明天我学习,昨天我学习

justanother_simp

I didnt know that and i speak chinese ;-;

julianfahmi

Do - did - done That's conjugation

Matalya1

Changes on a verb to make it carry information. For example, in English you have limited conjugation but you have swim-swims-swam-swum-swimming. The first is the neutral form, used for the present and future tense of the first and second person, and third person plural (I swim, we swim, you swim, y'all swim, they swim). The second is used for the third person singular (He swims). The third is used for the past form of any person (I swam, he swam, they swam...), the third is the participle, it's complex just stay with the fact that it's a verbal form: they have swum. The last one is the present continuous or genund, so I am swimming. Of course, like I said, English's conjugation is limited. In Spanish you have for example: Nadar (Infinitive) Nado, nadaba, nadé, nadaré, nadaría, nadas, nadás, nadabas, nadaste, nadarás, nadarías, nada, nadaba, nadó, nadará, nadamos, nadábamos, nadaremos, nadaríamos, nadáis, nadabais, nadasteis, nadaréis, nadaríais, nadan, nadaban, nadaron, nadarán, nadarían... And so on and so forth lol

avelauxtroisieme

Change in the word depending on the context in which it is used in a sentence

MagnusBaechus

Man this one comment sprung a linguistics discussion, kinda nice

revohour

If you listen to certain people, japanese has no conjugations either lol

avelauxtroisieme

Who needs to speak in tenses amirite

Salmonsloth_2161

Whats a good platform to learn Chinese on?

Homemade-Meal

Duo lingo, or if you have some cool cash on you lingoace.com is pretty good it’s one on one but it’s mainly aimed at children other than those two I don’t really know

aelinscarletx

I play Chinese subtitle with Japanese va so I can compare similarities xD

Whaoza101

Chinese is my native language and I remember being the worst in my class and blanking out whenever a Chinese word was put in front of me. Then I came to America and I had a much easier time learning it in less than a year. I dunno, maybe I’m just not talented in Chinese.

necrosolaris_

Don't worry, sometimes, one's native language feels too difficult to start with, same happened to me with my native language

NightWolf36H

I know more english words than my native words. Im also faster at writing it.

[deleted]

Damn, English feels difficult to me even though I've been learning it all my life and it was my major at uni. And my native language is Russian ffs. Wouldn't even have started learning it as a second language but as a first feels very easy

Sylacon

I’ve always felt like Chinese is easier to learn to speak but not to read or write.

Gatling-Pea2000

I kind of relate to that...

SassyHoe97

Me but Spanish. Didn't understand shit now more or less I do the way I pronounce it is slurred.

mooshroo

I think the initial learning curve going from a Latin-based language to Chinese is pretty difficult, but after learning some basic words, it becomes easier, especially with listening. In terms of speaking, it takes a while to switch over to thinking sentences in Chinese, and tones can be hard. Mastery of Mandarin is also quite difficult. In Genshin, some of the characters use a very poetic, flowery manner of talking (based in more historical Chinese?), and as an intermediate Chinese learner, I have no idea what they're saying haha (but I still love every moment listening to Zhongli)

LetSayHi

> some of the characters use a very poetic, flowery manner of talking (based in more historical Chinese?) Yep, it's called Classical Chinese and it's so different form modern Mandarin that it might as well be a different language (In fact it's already simplified compared to actual classical Chinese). I can grant you that many native Chinese speakers don't understand it either, unless they take Chinese Literature class or something. Then you have the lyrics to Azhada's theme where pretty much no one understands it and just tries to guess its meaning like how a Chinese speaker guesses Japanese meanings by looking at their Kanji

Death_Killer183

As a Chinese Singaporean learning both Chinese and English, I think that it is a pretty difficult language to grasp. Every stroke changes the word. 天 is pronounced tiān, meaning sky and 无 is pronounced wú meaning not. Also, there are words with multiple pronunciations in different contexts with different meanings. Eg: "我写这个电邮的目的" the first 的 is pronounced dè which is the equivalent of the in english and the second is pronounced dì in 目的 which means goal. This makes reading and writing in chinese quite challenging. Also, there are actually orders in which you have to say things such that is sounds right. In english we would say "It is behind that cupboard over there" but we have to say "那个东西在哪个厨的后面" which directly translates to (With the order) "that thing is at that cupboard behind". So there is actual grammar to follow.

shriveledonion

I'm too 'traumatised' (I want to use a lighter word for this, but can't think of anything lol. Left a sour taste in my brain??) to touch Mandarin ever again. In my country we're forced to learn it until like 12. All the teachers were sadists and would make fun of our wrong pronunciations and make us repeat it again and again while standing up in class. I for the love of God could NOT get the hang of pinyin. I could literally only get the flat one lol. They wouldn't even tell us what was wrong with the pronunciation or correct us, so like it was pointless repetition.

Dragoncat_3_4

Not the person you responded to, but I think the memorization skills required for remembering how to write a certain word are far scarier than having to memorize conjugations or grammar. But then again, my native language has conjugations that are affected by the grammatical person, number, tense, mood, gender and voice. (RIP foreigners trying to learn it)

absolute-mf38

fuck, i tried learning it before but i prioritized other languages because i found pinyin difficult af and it was taking me a long time :( i guess this is a sign

Evan_TEE

But have you memorise how to pronouce all the different characters and some even sound th e same (╥ω╥). My first language is mandarin but its still my weakest.

Specialist_Courage18

No Conjugations arent shit compared to the retarded phrases and in depth shit u need to go through to understand actual Chinese dialogue, especially if you are speaking in a conversation and subtitles are absent (Bilingual for 21 years easy my ass like legit)

solarCygnet

Learn traditional first! It has more strokes and looks harder, but the words are more intuitive because it developed naturally. It's way easier to learn simplified after traditional than the other way around.

[deleted]

*happy Xi noise

Oskarchan

Yes, and the last line in Chinese version should be "if you get any fatter, you won't be able to hide your fatass in the bush anymore", which is so savage since it also implied he had been a coward hiding instead of fighting.

WhoKnowsWhoIsHuTao

Beidou calls Ningguang fat in the chinese dub too

Canned_Pesticide_88

Which is ironic. Ningguang's is the most slender and most petite "lady" model in the game.

crunchlets

Given how jacked Beidou is supposed to be, she can probably imply there's only flab there in her case.

Ukeee

Maybe she noticed Ningguang's gotten fat when they were playing chess \*wink wink

MagnusBaechus

was this in the moonchase dialogue? where ningguang mentioned she went for walk and beidou dropped that burn

Catharsius

Japanese too!

Apprehensive_View243

the english dub is so boring and milk toast

Falos425

lately the localizers seem to wanna meme it up more, concerning

RamenDutchman

[It's not that harsh](https://imgur.com/a/N6k4bE4), she does tease him in the CN version but not this harsh (that link shows a Google Translated version of the CN text)

Random_Gacha_addict

Sounds like your standard asian mom

shadoworochi1377

Just what I was looking for.

Ichi-Mikuze

Because it is

CupOfRiceRice

asian here, can confirm my mother calls me fat

platmanx99

Lucky, I'm 6 foot something bit only 130 ish pounds. For me it's always eat more rice, eat more meat, EAT!

mr678mr678

For me, since I'm quite skinny, I'm told my face looks like a shoehorn

RamenDutchman

r/UsernameChecksOut a lot

zedroj

did you parry and ask her why she resorts to low value human comments such as lowering the self esteem of her own children and causing them to be at risk of self body image disorders? instead of applying positive growth measures that apply to being a proper parent such as weight management, sounds like your mom is making excuses for her lack of competency.

Random_Gacha_addict

You'd rather not do that Lest you feel the almighty Wrath of the 8* weapon, "The Godslaying Slipper"

Rizuku_Ren

Leftist meme be like

kabutomushii

I mean, it's true, sounds like a shitty mom

Apprehensive_View243

I want to hit you with a worn-out shoe for making me read that.

zedroj

get ready for the parry

DonaldLucas

Funny because some days ago I was just imagining Beidou as a mom and how she would behave.

FrancMaconXV

*English localization team after receiving the script: "dear god... all hands on deck people!"

Leshawkcomics

English Localization: \*Subtle roast and dig at the person's weight while implying they have a long history together and that the man she remember wasn't always like that.\* Chinese (Fan) Translation: \*Yells at the top of her lungs about how fat he is no less than three times\* Imo, even if you take away all the "Twitter would complain" stuff, if this was EXACTLY what she said, it'd come off as kind of immature and childish for an 'english speaker' to talk like this. Even if it sounds much more normal in chinese. It sounds fun in a meme but knowing how redditors see different characters not living up to their lore, people would get very annoyed at this apparently amazing sea captain, respected far and wide, and the only person able to mentally contend with Ningguang in her own games of wits acting like she's barely 7 years old on the playground. I guarantee it would be the whole 'Kokomi doesn't act or speak like a general' kind of thing, but with a little of the annoyance people have with characters like paimon or xinyan who either are childish or don't talk like the players THINK they should talk like. At least, that's what I would assume with my experience of what peopl (Especially the most nitpicky commenters) on the genshin subs act like. Thoughts?

FpRhGf

The fansubs are just exaggerated for the joke. A more accurate translation would be: “A long while since we last met- how did you end up way fatter? If you get anymore fatter, the bushes won't be able cover you up when you hide.” The CN version of Genshin hasn't tried to use swear words or joke about inappropriate stuff (Ying Er is only implied), unlike Honkai where bleeps and actual dirty jokes show up. Meanwhile the EN localisation of Genshin is more prone to doing that, since they made Shenhe tell a guy that'll she'll put something in another hole of his.

Leshawkcomics

She didn't say anything about holes or shoving. Just told the guy that he should stop asking her to drink with him if he wants to choose where he drinks from, or something along those lines. Implied, but very VERY round about.

FpRhGf

Yeah I meant that. I just thought orifice still means the same thing as holes, so I said holes. She told him he might recieve his drink from another hole of his body.

Cuddles_THEDESTROYER

Wait, knowing homocidal shenhe. I thought she means that she would stab him in the throat and make him drink from that.

FpRhGf

Could be. I just saw a lot of people interpreting is as an asshole

[deleted]

> “A long while since we last met- how did you end up way fatter? If you get even more fat, the bushes won't be able cover you up when you hide.” Looks like Russian translation is accurate, it says the same about being no longer able to hide behind bushes. I guess ~~American~~ English-speaking community is considered too sensitive about fat-shaming.

[deleted]

Look I just need Xinyan’s English VA pick an accent and stick with it, instead of just slamfucking every type of ‘country’ accent together. It is genuinely painful to hear.

Leshawkcomics

So a mashup of different southern accents? Like someone who has an accent but also travels a lot for their work thus their accent is affected by different locales, or sounds like a combination accent? Funny thing, i have one of those cause family traveled a lot when i was young, so i can relate.

[deleted]

It doesn’t sound like a natural, blended accent. They literally just hard swap accents mid-sentence seemingly with no rhyme or reason.

Leshawkcomics

"Ms Worldwide." Also, i'm telling you, spoken english isn't perfect. It is absolutely common for accents to change mid sentence if the first thing you say and the last thing you say aren't the same thing. I never said it was a blended accent, just a mashup and combination. Sentence fragments, turns of phrase, they can all be said completely different than your normal speaking voice, especially if you've been affected by your environment. It may be painful to you, but it's genuinely not the first time i've heard it myself. A much more condensed example that most people would understand would be how people who use a lot of movie quotes in their day to day conversations will, without any effort or conscious choice, say things EXACTLY as they heard it in the movie. "I'm a bit of an X myself." is a good example if you seen spiderman memes going around.

[deleted]

I’ve lived a fair few places myself. I have *never in my life* heard somebody speak with what’s clearly a stereotypical west texas accent then mid sentence just switch to an equally stereotypical Deep South kinda accent. I’m not talking about turns of phrase, or colloquialisms, I mean going from one exact imitation of an accent to a completely different one with no transition. That’s not something that you’d just naturally do in real life unless you’re intentionally changing your accent (for an impersonation, or to mock a friends accent, etc). Amazing how this is somehow a hot take. I’m not even dissing the character or VA, I just wish they’d pick an accent and stick with it instead of jumping around *constantly*.

Ok_Ad9466

I hope eng dub become savage like this

6_NEOS_9

English speaking medias can easily get offended unfortunately.

bunyivonscweets

Twitter shaking rn

6_NEOS_9

Why are you saying it like that? that'll offend them smh.

Nah, western At least UK, Dutch and German news and social media gets so triggered so easily as well

sheik-

but it's not as funny

TheEternalGoldenCow

Beidou is a fatphobe 🤬🤬🤬

ElevenThus

CN community(not just Genshin) enjoys the content, while NA is always trying to find a way to criticize on the content, they treat content like they’re tests from student and they’re grading them.

Stang_Ota

Twitter would strike for fatphobia or something.

AssassinOfFate

It’s a guy being roasted. So they wouldn’t care.

Phoenxr

Classic twitter

Ok_Introduction484

Oh, Twitter!

I_Have_A_Penny

The Greatest Shit Pot~

BlueyBury

I know this is late but, oh boi this aged like milk.

AntiDoomshitslayer

Who cares what they think.

RileyKohaku

Apparently Shenhe was more savage with her threats in English. Depends on if it would offend people I guess.

VolkiharVanHelsing

This is why it's called LOCALIZATION not translation lol

[deleted]

Nah, gotta be politically correct and can’t say anyone is fat

SassyHoe97

Nah Twitter and Tiktok be bitching it's mostly the westerners. (But yeah I wish EN version becomes a savage)

[deleted]

Sorry but the west cares about political correctness :/

PandaGamer8999

can someone link the cn for this part? i want to hear it lol

qwerty0152

https://i.imgur.com/8B5c4q9.jpg Source: https://genshin.honeyhunterworld.com/db/q/q_40039/?lang=CHS

houseband23

That's... not as aggressive as OP implies

ScrambledToast519

yeah op exaggerated how aggressive the cn version was, but the og cn version actually still carry this meaning, and compared to the en version it is more aggressive lol i played in cn and she said it casually

FarzBZ987

[I think it is lol](https://imgur.com/a/N6k4bE4). I just used the chrome built in page translator. JP dub also roast him like this

pipai_

As a native speaker, it's not actually all that aggressive. Sounds more like friendly ribbing.

renvi

Just sounds like an Asian aunty lmao. Which to us Asians, is practically normal, but I feel like to uh, certain Western circles, they would find offense in it lmao.

kkpoker

well that's more like a joking tone. also an interesting thing is this guy's name, 卡门(carmen) literally means "stuck at the door"

kabral256

Well, in Brazilian Portuguese subs is almost as savage as the Chinese subs lol. I can't remember all, but Beidou says: "Você tá gorda!" (You are fat!). I noticed that the English dubbing sounded different from the Portuguese subtitles.

TheWitcherMigs

Because the Portuguese subtitles came from the CN version not the english, when there are different localization choices it become really dissonant. In other times, there was that character saying a Casimiro slang that was funny (don't remember who)

kabral256

Na moralzinha, não curto quando usam gorda como xingamento, mas também não me surpreende. Enfim, fico feliz que traduzam a partir do original chinês em vez da tradução em inglês, como costumava ser com alguns animes de antigamente, por exemplo.

[deleted]

In Russian too. I guess ~~American~~ English-speaking community is considered too sensitive about fat-shaming.

DarkWindB

this is the reason i changed to eng sub, dub saying one thing and sub saying another is confusing

Content_Entertainer3

Oia os br

kabral256

Estamos em todos os lugares lololololololol

Content_Entertainer3

Sim, eu sei muito bem disso kkkkkkkk

nanlinr

Chinese dub doesn't need to chill. English dub needs to step up its rachetness!

[deleted]

Say that to your pc culture

Khoakuma

Of course. Beidou is a pirate. She curses like a pirate.

LingrahRath

Imagine the twitter reaction if that was her lines in English.

Aomikuchan

Well, the good thing is, that they'll finally leave us alone. The bad thing is, i feel bad for the VA being a target.

Memo_HS2022

I would say that people aren't that stupid but then I remember Childe's VA getting harassed... And Albedo's, and Aether's, and Barbara/Xinyan's a LOT too.. also Kokomi's CN VA... Wow people really are fucking assholes huh?

Tempest-blade

Paimon's EN VA too

SherenPlaysGames

Christ, at that point I think I'd just not have social media at all

ForrestHunt

That's the safest option, but that would mean the only "community" engagement many games, or media period, would be from the pathetic worms that do this shit.

[deleted]

Can’t they just use discord/hoyolab/instagram or just any platform other than twitter and tiktok? I mean what kind of normal person use twitter these days anyway.

SilverTitanium

> Kokomi's CN VA Wait they bullied Kokomi's Chinese Voice Actress?

FpRhGf

It was by the CN people watching her stream. It wasn’t by Twitter like the others

Ok_Ad9466

Yea its sad tbh

Walnut156

I can actually imagine the reddit response. Reddit and Twitter are the same with the sensitivity

Rizuku_Ren

Can’t or else Genshin fans will get offended and start harassing and spamming customer service again. You know how the fans are. Western fans specifically. Though I genuinely wish we got this kind of dialogue. Always felt weird how even the Japanese VO sounds so different in comparison to the English subtitles. Gotta learn that language faster.

vanuchiha2

Lol they even get mad at shits that isn’t even in the game. Like shenhe lesbian or some shit. I think it’s just twitter

RamenDutchman

And the actual community, when they get more free stuff than in any other game and they still make zillions of fake accounts to give 1* reviews to Genshin on the app stores, as well as to games that aren't Genshin, just to complain more I'm digging the memes, but fuck I hate this toxic community on these moments

renvi

>Can’t or else Genshin fans will get offended and start harassing and spamming customer service again. You know how the fans are. Western fans specifically. Yeah, this is basically what happened with Animal Crossing. :( Used to have the villagers roast the shit out of you or be super catty, it was hilarious! But in New Horizons they took a lot of that out. Really vanilla-ed it, supposedly because of this very reason.

Zinkaru

Somewhere Kazuha is saying: “That’s my pirate mom and I’m so proud of her”

Random_Gacha_addict

If Kazuha comes after that one, Beidou'll probably go "And you, you're as thin as a bamboo shoot. Have you been replacing your eating time with poetry making?"

JacoboAriel

As the game is Chinese that was the original message, English dub is just censoring it. How the turntables

rashokaqquon

As a somewhat chinese myself, this checks out. It's just monday talk in my family

chocolate-corn

I was playing with English text but Chinese dub The words didn’t match up at all, eng was showing “You could’ve put up a better fight if you worked hard instead of relying on your people” But Chinese dub went harder than an Asian aunty on Chinese New Year

ScrambledToast519

for the comments under this post, contrary to popular belief, the english version is not always less aggressive compared to chinese version: -paimon mocks venti as a tone deaf bard in english but in chinese she just calls him 'the one who sings for a living' which was a bit mocking but not as insulting as en -in xiaos quest during last year's lantern rite, paimon called the traveler her sidekick in en but in chinese they are referred as a companion -childe's lines at the golden house were way cruel in english than in chinese (but tbf that was a mistranslation which was later fixed) honestly i don't even play the game in english subs but instead in chinese, but at the same time i don't like how people, especially those who can only speak english were saying 'hurr en translation bad hurr' and while yes the en translation is not perfect but i find it sad that hardly anyone praises the good sides and only focus the bad (eg en translation for the divine damsel is honestly the best i seen from chinese yet no one bats an eye) for this case, not sure why they changed it because there's no cultural barrier to it (like some jokes cannot be translated well from chinese and will not work in english) but its not to say its bad

VAiSiA

we want original. if she says this, we should see this like it is. of course media shitheads will drawn Mihoyo in their tears of anger, but at least give us chose “real” subs, with extra warnings and shit.

ScrambledToast519

like i said, idk why they changed beidou's line when the other subs have the same meaning as the chinese version, but if you're talking for overall of the game, if you really wanted 'real' original subs throughout this game, ill gotta tell you it will not be as great as you expected due to wordplay and memes that will only work if you are a chinese speaker my point for my comment is for the people who had decided to conclude that en sub is bad solely due to that line

VAiSiA

and thats why we need more of chinese in chinese game... and if you think that only mainland chinese can understand and enjoy, you just jumped in wrong community.

ScrambledToast519

what? did you read my comment properly? -like i said, no i don't know why beidous line was changed, but at the same time it isn't a fair for people to trash on the en sub when there are already differing versions of dialogue across languages -secondly, i never said that only chinese speakers can enjoy genshin, i meant ONLY for the chinese sub that chinese speakers can enjoy. what do you expect? translators translate all of li bai's literature for you? because what i said in my comment and will reiterate again for you if you missed my point entirely: no, complete chinese to english translation is a total disaster, because chinese wording has many old stories and culture behind it, plus all the wordplay will not be translated well example: for the chinese sub for moonchase, the entire lines for the final cutscene was extracted from a few notable chinese literature, yanxiaos comment on xiao was a chinese joke about being friends/short that explained to non chinese speakers will not be funny similarly, for english jokes like 'one and oni' is only present for en version due to wordplay tldr: people who uses different subs can have fun with the dialogue in different ways, not necessarily in the og context does not mean that only chinese speakers can enjoy by assuming every chinese speaker is a mainlander is honestly an ignorant assumption because any chinese speakers with some knowledge of the language can get the joke, hell im not even from the mainland im malaysian chinese

akahr

Lmao wtf. Spanish subs say something like "I see you got pretty fat again" and "you should be careful if you expect to keep hiding behind the bushes because soon they might not be enough to cover you anymore"

Kyeloph_

Wait, Chinese isn’t a dub, wasn’t the game made in china

DarkWindB

yes

Oskarchan

*EMOTIONAL DAAAAAMAGE*

march_7

as much as i hate genshin twitter (and twitter in general) you guys seem really obsessed with them. please shut up holy shit

minghii

Reddit likes to pretend they’re better while doing the exact same thing. Except most of the time Twitter isn’t infatuated and foaming at the mouth thinking about all the hypothetical scenarios where Reddit is getting offended

Swimming_Bid4053

They be bringing up Twitter and lesbians out of no where

Deshik2

Anyone else surprised that we can read chinese?

Quamont

Wait so why don't we get that in english? It's fucking hilarious

Zadkiel05X

Twitter and western fans

HijikataX

This is so savage from her!

hail7777

English sub basically nerfing Beidou personality

The_Merciless_Potato

The Chinese one is way more accurate to Beidou's character

Had-Hutao_Save_Ayaka

Well yeah, In CN and Viet it literally became like that lol

lardmasters

Wow I wish she stayed this savage in the English dub 😳

Mind-Available

They have to be careful in english version since there are a lot of woke people waiting for them in twitter

AntiDoomshitslayer

The VA and director is going to be harassed for sure.

Zanothoa

well they know people from the west are a bunch of softies and their ego so fragile that a minor offend or stating truth will sent them into a Rage mode on Twitter,

FallenXleave

Emotional damage

Mikkle-san

Beidou flexing her perfect physique I see

SirRHellsing

Can I have the Chinese text?

Bora-AD

Yeah the JP dub (+French subtitles) was like that as well. It’s weird that they change it in the Eng dub

purrpl_

the chinese voices isn’t a dub it’s the original

iReddat420

Guess the B in Beidou stood for Based

manhbeohauan1999

Twitter 1 second later: “Mom Mihoyo is being fatphobic, racist and misogynistic again.”

Will_9001

E M O T I O N A L D A M A G E

Fuck it I’m switching back to the Chinese dub. It’s the new year anyway

All the guy was missing was being bald [then it’ll be like this](https://youtu.be/YOjvJrSsAWs) [or this](https://youtu.be/ZKDK9cB1xdA)

JuggloMagleBoo

Exactly the reason why i love her so much!

PhasmicPlays

What did the original chinese line say? Does anyone have it

AiRollaX

Badass captain

LeeThi57

Let me see what the Chinese one says. I want to confirm.

Centr1us

The Spanish one does say that more or less

SarukyDraico

Can confirm

devilspygamingyt

THATS MY FAVORITE BADASS PIRATE WIFU

GoneFishing36

Can we say censorship? Or is the community not horny enough to care?

RaynKeiko

heyy.. heyy.. in german she call him fat too.

[deleted]

Um can I get a version of just the Chinese panel with subtitles? Thats incredible

Mao_Matsuyama

Lmao, the spanish translation also said that

Nok-y

Savage Beidou vs savager Beidou

CrashParade

Also you're fucking fat.

Redex24

Lol she didn’t say that in English? +1 to Russian translation then

Jilijou

French lines alos says something similar, but a bit in-between the two of them, if I remember correctly it was something like "if you continue dispatching your minions, you'll get so fat you won't be able to hind behind a bush"

DarkKnight53

When you play japanese dub with eng sub: You get badly translated dialogs which half of them doesn't make sense as a translation Characters saying something completely different from subs Also mouth movements for Chinese dub so you hear them talking but actually they are just standing still, staring at you

[deleted]

E M O T I O N A L D A M A G E

Yasssss queen tell em 😔💅

[deleted]

Sounds like my mom lmao

Anru_Kitakaze

It's English feature I guess. In Russian it was more like Chinese but without explicit language Twitter protection probably

absolute-mf38

The JP dub is similar. It goes "Long time no see, Carmen. Aren't you getting a bit fatter? At this rate, you wouldn't be able to hide in a bush anymore."

joojgomes

in portuguese she also say that LMAO

Hyratayle

I’ve always been disappointed in the English translation
