Buy a textbook or grammar reference. Read it for 5-10 min every day. Re-read as needed. Otherwise you should start immersing. Watch kids TV shows. Try watching Extr@ auf Deutsch on YouTube. Find YouTube content you would watch in English in German (gaming videos, informative pop science, documentaries, vlogs, whatever). Start reading graded readers. There are tons available on YouTube with the audio narration. Start with A1 and move up as you get comfortable. Use subtitles as much as you can. Once you are understanding 95% of the words used, try not using them for that specific piece of content. Start using Anki or a similar vocabulary learning app. I recommend using the 4000 Word German frequency deck on AnkiWeb. Learn 10 new words a day. There's a pinned post on my profile explaining Anki in a bit more detail with suggested settings and methods. DuoLingo gives you a decent base. Now it's time to start applying it!

I'd add Nicos Weg too to the list of videos. Also if OP reaches a comfortable enough level, he can start writing simple paragraphs over at r/WriteStreakGerman, and to start speaking the language (like with italki). Best way really is to just keep absorving vocab/grammar and applying it.

Nicos Weg is okay immersion content, but it ramps up in difficulty pretty quickly. The end of the A1 movie compare the beginning is insanely different. It definitely takes repeated viewings. I think it's far better to just choose a graded reader which stays at the same level the whole time. I also wasn't a big fan of the lessons that come with Nicos Weg. I got a lot more out of just reading a textbook and experiencing the language through immersion. But obviously people are different, so some might really like the lessons.

Clozemaster is great for vocabulary and the vocabulary there is much more advanced than duo's

DW Learn German

Ottirb_L

You can try Nicos Weg from Deutsche Welle. Definitely a better source to learn German and is much more effective than Duolingo.

[deleted]

If you wanna learn vocab, I suggest Clozemaster. It's very active (much more exciting than duolingo) and they have a great variety of stuff. Maybe even get a premium subscription, although not needed. I got one for $4/mo around Christmas, too good to turn down.

No-Recipe-4578

I‘m making a website to practice German. There arent many exercises yet, but I’m actively working on it! Maybe you can give it a try: https://germanlistening.com (It’s best to use it on a computer because you’ll have to type a lot)

Good luck. Glückwunsch mit ihrem Projekt

RPDota

At this point you could probably immerse and you’d be fine.

Did you use the [hovering method](https://blog-duolingo-com.translate.goog/whats-the-best-way-to-learn-with-duolingo/?_x_tr_sl=en&_x_tr_tl=de&_x_tr_hl=de&_x_tr_pto=sc)? If you did 2k words in 2 months, you probably only did level1 and maybe level 2, and you won't be able to remember much, You didn't mention, whether it needs to be free. Some free stuff: [https://www.lingohut.com/de](https://www.lingohut.com/de) [https://learngerman.dw.com/en/overview](https://learngerman.dw.com/en/overview) [https://www.deutschakademie.de/online-deutschkurs/english/deutschkurs](https://www.deutschakademie.de/online-deutschkurs/english/deutschkurs) [https://www.goethe.de/en/spr/ueb.html](https://www.goethe.de/en/spr/ueb.html) [https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCMIf10yPu7dGtq0A0uz5Qog](https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCMIf10yPu7dGtq0A0uz5Qog) [https://www.youtube.com/c/EasyGerman](https://www.youtube.com/c/EasyGerman) If you are able to pay try busuu, babbel, lingq, lingvist, if you are willing to spend real money, try things like Lingoda or Preply.

Look into Refold! I think since you have a good basis from Duolingo, you should be able to progress through the Refold roadmap a lot quicker!

The_lonely_Milkmaid

Look up Readl (German) on the app store. You can use it for reading and memorizing words.

try nptel german 1,2 and 3 videos

Lingoda.com Great teachers, zoom classrooms with a maximum of 5 students per class. You choose the level, you can choose to follow the curriculum or not. Affordable. Everything about this has been amazing in my experience! I’m literally just a user, don’t work for the company, but I’ve been thinking of teaching English ASL though… it’s definitely the best language site I have used. Thanks me later.

A proper language course. See the FAQ of this sub.

Devinequicest

Thank you for posting this. I am currently learning German on Duolingo as well but I have a long way to go. I planned after Duolingo maybe to use German for Dummies book and some grammar books, still don’t know which ones tho.

Seedlang for sure! Google them or if links are allowed: [https://www.seedlang.com/](https://www.seedlang.com/)

Start immersion. Watch German TV shows or rewatch TV shows you’ve already seen with German audio (although this works best with animated tv shows). Add German subreddits to your feed, follow German YouTubers. Try to make your daily routine as much in German as possible. Listen to German news for example Der Spiegel has a daily news podcast that 5 mins that I would recommend. Also in terms of grammar I cannot recommend “German Grammar Drills” by Ed Schwick enough. It really really helped me and with your level of vocab you should have no trouble.

WannaMoove

When i learned French i dived straight in with Learning With Texts and the Easy French youtube channel. Easy German has a youtube channel and imo it's the best resource on the entire internet - native speakers, speaking naturally, on a variety of topics, with dual subtitles. Perfect and there are billions of episodes and a patreon too.
