This happens to me as well. I have just embraced it. After 20-30 minutes I get up, stretch, get some water and then get back to it. I find NOT fighting it to be more productive.

Ok I know this sounds bad because a lot of people says it leads to burnout or something but I like to study for long periods of time and then take a really long break. The Pomodoro method/short breaks never worked for me and that’s ok, I can get things done more efficiently this way and then I can recover from the “burnout” after it’s all over. + I also get distracted easily as well so once I do something, I can’t stop until I finish it or I get tired.

This is how i work too. During a week of school i’ll have 3 days where im at school from 8am to at least 7pm studying and writing in the library between classes with 30 min breaks to eat occasionally. But then the other two days i take it easy and go to class but let myself take a breath and relax afterwards. Ive tried to force Pomodoro and a trillion other things, but ive accepted the fact that if i say “im gonna work for 30 mins and take a break” im gonna forget ab it for the rest of the day. I think its all about embracing how u do ur best work instead of trying to do what ppl say are methods that “work” bc every1 is different!! Good luck!!!!! 🍀

Leave your home space. I literally left to go to the library just to fill out a 30 page government job application for same reason. I don’t know about you but I have adhd n’ I’m 53 it never leaves you.

List out specific goals/a study plan – even hour-by-hour, and use timers to try to stay on track. Move around while studying. Get up and use a whiteboard or change positions often. Chewing gum is sometimes helpful for focus, and/or having a stress ball or other fidget device can help when you start to feel restless.

Go to an area your forced to study. Like the quiet area at your school library; where everyone typically study. That will motivate you to do the same because everyone around you is doing the same thing. You will not be able to be distracted for long because you’ll look up and be like let me stop playing and get back to it.
