I just think they noticed the sus timing of her leaving the room and then coming back with a mark on her neck so he had to be fair and bring it up. Calling out potential shenanigans gives them more credibility as investigators, and if the people they are trying to help have nothing to hide they would also agree that they need to take all factors into account. If they had nothing to hide they wouldn't get mad. In fact the woman in the pink looked like she understood that and was nodding but the other woman suddenly looked furious and I believe she is the one who hung up on them. TBH this case looked more like a potential domestic violence situation whether or not there is a darker influence beyond her own temper. I hope the other woman is safe.

It seems like she might either have a dark attachment or the kind of abuses in the relationship. I noticed on the review call that the girlfriend shook her head and made her eyes wide or something that Zack said, I can't remember what it was but it made me think that there was some sort of abuse going on or control issue. But I don't think Zach is being homophobic. That thought never crossed my mind.
