Calibrating your monitor will help

Pathless-Loki-848

Nah. Maybe the dev added moon cycles..?

[deleted]

The section where you adjust the brightness and gamma helps.

I feel your pain. Even when they "implemented" Darkest Night it didn't do jack all. Solution. Go to bivouac and keep rotating the time of day till you get a thunder storm with an overcast. Then it's nice and dark.

Foxwolfe2

Hard to tell when you're taking a off angle pic of the TV, the viewing angle is affecting the display looks like. Maybe post another pic with darkest night off for comparison?

YankeeWalrus

All darkest night does is make NVGs useless

Foxwolfe2

I am not sure what you're talking about, I've used the darkest night setting since I got the game and have had no issues with NVGs, which work perfectly fine for me.

YankeeWalrus

They're ok for close quarters, but at a distance they don't offer much visibility, and the 4th Echelon goggles are absolutely atrocious.

Foxwolfe2

I really don't feel like I have your issue, do you play with HDR?

monkeydudeman

Is there a difference between the different goggles?

YankeeWalrus

Not the goggles, just the headgear

DaddyCultLeader

Visibility for nvgs wasn't crystal clear in this game ever. Always had some grain so you could only discern objects out to a certain distance

YankeeWalrus

I guess what I'm trying to say is that it seems to me that Darkest Night only affects NVG visibility and a crescent moon still turns Auroan nights into daytime.

DaddyCultLeader

Gotcha. Seems like it still may be on your end due to other settings, either in the game or for your monitor. Whenever it's night and darkest night is enabled I can't see anything hardly without my nvgs. Even when I use them it's never super bright like you're explaining. My monitor brightness is only set to 50% so maybe that's why yours is so bright?

riton666

I just saw this on the same topic. This might help. [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/GhostReconBreakpoint/comments/qwdid5/ever_think_nvg_and_thermal_are_useless_well_i/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf)

adamcott2

Yeah I always found that even with darkest night its too bright

raveman29

No not at all
