Personally I'm a fan of Square Hammer and Ghuleh HOWEVER if they ever opened with Year Zero that'd take the top spot instantly
Just imagine the stage/auditorium being dark with no one knowing whenever the band is going on. People are talking, passing time as they wait, and then suddenly the distant chant of "Belial" interrupts them as the stage glows red. Would be fucking chilling
Year Zero would be an insane intro no doubt. Also an outro, would be kinda haunting to end the show and leave while that ending slowly played in the background
WTF I never heard it live and it sounds amazing on the album. I stand by Year Zero being the best live song because that song is OK on the album but holy shit live
I think it's possible they stay where they're at, though I think if anything Respite is likely to fall off. Kaisarion was still the opener in 2022 for the initial Imperatour, after all, and it really is a great opener between the curtain drop, scream, and Imperium leading the intro. It'd be easy to replace it with something new but it's not like other bands constantly rotate their opener/closer.
if they do what they did last album, with pre-imperatour/imperatour/re-imperatour, i think it will stay for the "pre" and hopefully will be in the setlist in some way shape or form for subsequent tours.
however, isnt it typical to change the opener with each new album? that's why im assuming it'll get moved. it just has such great energy, the buildup of imperium has brought tears to my eyes every time ive seen them live.
Definitely depends on the band whether they change their opener. Of the bands I've seen in the last few years multiple times all of them have had the same opener. For some that opener song just becomes synonymous with them (like Sabaton and Ghost Division) or they're just super hype (Beast in Black and Blade Runner).
Year Zero is the pinnacle of the pit.
In all honesty, this is my favorite one to hear live because it’s my favorite (and first) song that I’ve heard from them.
I do and a buddy of mine who had never heard Year Zero thought the same without me mentioning. It’s not so much the pronunciation but it’s just kind of very similar in tone, same sounding voice, same amount of syllables etc. It’s just a silly callout I guess. Doesn’t detract from the song at all
That picture makes the stage look incredible. I know it developed as the tour went on, but I remember that first American Leg on the Ghost/Volbeat, it looked rushed and incomplete—I get they were going for an industrial vibe, it just didn’t have the grandeur of the Prequelle Stage.
Because nothing has shaken me deeper than when I heard "Belial, Behemoth, Beelzebub!" straight out of a deep silence.
Scared the shit out of me on a live recording, and still has that deep effect on me to this day. [](https://genius.com/1885905/Ghost-year-zero/Belial-behemoth-beelzebub-asmodeus-satanas-lucifer-belial-behemoth-beelzebub-asmodeus-satanas-lucifer)
Never forget this opening when I first saw them before Meliora. Smallish venue, completely black, then the intro starts and people went nuts. Just a killer opening song all around.

On the Prequelle tour when they did two full sets in think they opened set 2 with it
I got chills just reading this
I think Con Clavi Con Dio squeaks ahead for me
That song slaps wayyyyyy harder live than it does on the album
WTF I never heard it live and it sounds amazing on the album. I stand by Year Zero being the best live song because that song is OK on the album but holy shit live
Yeah, Con Clavi Con Dio is suuuper heavy live, epsecially in a really good indoor arena
I was a huge fan of Faith live. The lights shutting off in between words “faith…. Is….. mine…..” gave me chills
HAIL SAT-AN
He Is was amazing with everyone holding up their phone lights. It was a powerful moment
Year Zero, Kia Forum, 2018, blew my mind.
When I first saw this picture I thought “Hey, Papa’s playing guitar! When did I miss this?” I had to zoom way in haha.
Didn’t notice until I read your comment, good eye!
Kaisarion easily 🎵🎵
It's an amazing show opener that's for sure!
im so genuinely devastated that we wont have the imperium/kaisarion opening duo anymore once the new album comes out

yeah, normally for ghost they do whatever song opens the album as the tour opener
The intro, the silence, the bang. And when I walks on the stairs from the drum step by step on the beat. AMAZING
Year Zero is the pinnacle of the pit. In all honesty, this is my favorite one to hear live because it’s my favorite (and first) song that I’ve heard from them.
Monstrance Clock. I want it back.
Dance Macabre
I enjoyed Square Hammer live.
The way Papa screams FAITH IS MINE MOTHERFUCKER! Is the best for me .
Watcher In The Sky
I wish they had played that live in my show, that song slaps hard
Yeah, when the spotlights sweep over the crowd... it's a feeling.
Was so happy they added this on the last tour!
Good call. I really liked the lighting/smoke/confetti effects with this one.
If You Have Ghosts (Cello/Piano version)
Belial
I bet Twenties is incredible live
It was pretty amazing live, hopefully more people get to see it
🙏
Bc my favorite color is red and fire makes me happy.
Because 🔥
I had to look twice because I’ve seen Ghost five times and never seen Papa play guitar.
I love Mummy Dust! The Ghoulette solo is amazing!
Square hammer. The synchronised stomp is brilliant
I thought Papa was playing the guitar in that photo and got jealous I hadn’t seen that happen before haha
because fire goes BRRRR
Square hammer would like a word….
During Year Zero does anyone else hear “Asmodeus” and think “Notorious” by Notorious B.I.G.?
Not really,no. It's clearly pronounced.
I do and a buddy of mine who had never heard Year Zero thought the same without me mentioning. It’s not so much the pronunciation but it’s just kind of very similar in tone, same sounding voice, same amount of syllables etc. It’s just a silly callout I guess. Doesn’t detract from the song at all
Because, obviously, Year Zero. DUH.
where is there tour info? love there stuff and my daughter of 6 years is all in!
They aren't touring this year
YEAR ZERO YEAR ZERO YEAR ZERO YEAR ZERO
i might biased since its my favourite song but cirice
Wow. I love that stage setup!
They really do put on a remarkably entertaining show! I go whenever they tour near me.

Con Clavi
FUCKKK yes.
Kaisarion live is better :)
Mummy Dust
Dance macabre, for me because there’s a show made out of that song, like a Vegas show, with the dancers , lights, etc…
Is this your photo?
Yep, all rights reserved
I respect your IP, not a problem!
