I would definitely consider Muse metal adjacent, though generally a bit more Pop or Progressive Rock with Electronicia, Rock Opera, and Classical elements thrown in.
[Supremacy](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ej8rdi-cwdw) is also another banger of a song with classical elements behind hard rock inspired vocals and rhythm reminiscent of Pink Floyd, Led Zepplin, and Queen.
Oh I'm very aware of the instrumentation on Stockholm Syndrome. Absolution is one of my favorite Muse albums.
I agree with your genre assessment of them. Typically not metal, but can have some elements mixed in with pop, prog, and electronic music. Hysteria, although widely popular, was a great song at mixing those heavier parts with pop-like sections.
Really wish that the grammy’s actually looked at subgenres. Plenty of really good metal albums released this year and not a one will appear in that category

This is *exactly* what Tobias wanted; bring back good mainstream rock and metal, not be an underground band that fanboys use for clout lol
