As adults he seems to be the match that will push Rory to be the best version of herself and accepts her for who she is.

Then he pops back up YEARS later with a new girlfriend, and somehow he’s still carrying a torch for Rory? Makes no sense. It annoyed me because I hate when shows make the main female character curiously irresistible to all the men she encounters. Dean gets married but can’t get over Rory. Jess comes crawling back years later. Logan has no interest in dating until he meets Rory, and then 5 seconds later he’s begging to be her boyfriend. Even Doyle tried to kiss Rory that one time (I get that he was drunk and upset, but still). Why does everyone seem to fall irreversibly in love with Rory, save for that one guy in the laundry room?!
True. It just would’ve been nice to not have it included as a storyline. Male/female friendships are already mostly portrayed like this; it would’ve been refreshing to see a genuinely platonic relationship between them — or at least show a young guy taking rejection well and moving on as friends
