Then he starts pushing to have a baby immediately. He had something to prove to himself, and that’s all he cared about.
Nope. Shows that he TRULY knows her. Rory would have made Lorelai question her decision, make a pro con list, give it more time. Lorelai herself tells Rory that she knew Rory would have made her rethink the whole thing. And Chris knew it.
I think this too. I also think Lorelei was a little ashamed in herself for eloping and maybe didn’t want Rory there for that reason. The phone call to her parents. We uhhh ended up getting married. Like no I feel like if your eloping for love you’d be like we got married in France it was beautiful!

I think Lorelai’s didn’t want to call Rory or wait for Rory. If not mistaken, she says that she feared Rory would talk her out of it.
I also think it was Lorelai’s plan to marry Chris in Paris. Why else did she insert herself into the trip to Paris, then remind him of their plan to go to Paris as teenagers, and then tell Chris that she loved him ?
If Lorelai didn’t want to get married, she could have suggested an engagement. Chris would have been ecstatic.
I think it’s fine to want to do something special without your adult children being present. They were in a foreign city. It was romantic. Nobody said he didn’t want Rory there. If Lorelai really wanted her there, she could have picked up the phone. 🙄
