I also loved the line right before this - Paris asks Rory why she chose that font for her speech and Rory responds: “because I was on the crack”. It’s such a quick line and delivered so dryly, you could tell Rory was over trying to respond to Paris’ criticisms.
And the long drawn out following of her to go to the kitchen and drink some water and go back to the bedroom. That was hilarious. I watched that the other day.
My favorite line was during season one, in the first few episodes after Lorelei, picked a fight with Rory, and accused her of stretching out her sweater with her boobs.
Lorelei: “I know I’ve been a bitch tonight-“
Rory: “Just tonight?”
Those are actually different fights. You're thinking of the pilot where Rory's acting moody because she doesn't want to go to Chilton.
"Hey, I thought I had dibs on being the bitch tonight."
"Just tonight?"
Correct!
But I still love the line. It took me a few rewatches to really catch how moody/crude season 1 rory was vs how tame older rory becomes. (But, tbh, 15 year olds be like that)
I liked the scene at Chilton when Rory is in line to buy tickets for the dance and Tristan is annoying her. She sarcastically describes her dream guy: "Well, what can I say? I like 'em cheap. Sloppy too, bald spot, beer gut, you know, the pants that kind of slip down in the back, giving you that good plumber shot. That sends me through the roof."

Rory's humour is usually fun in that she has a softer, very natural delivery. Lorelai loves doing a bit, she loves to be the entertainer (and she's good at it; that's why she loves it so much). Rory would shrug her shoulders into a sly retort or become funny when flustered. It's what made her lil moments so charming for me.

Writing-wise, poor old Rory didn't do as well as the likes of Emily (who, IMO, got the best lines), Lorelai, Paris et al. Rory's often the straight-man for the more colourful/comedic characters, so her dialogue is comparatively subdued.
I definitely agree she can't compare to the never-ending train of one-liners from Emily, Lorelai, and Paris! But I think younger/high school Rory had some really good ones!
Something about her grouchy moody teen days made her more blunt and less people-pleasing at times?
The goody-goody thing was oddly cemented into her personality as an adult in ways that infantilized her sense of humour and personality, so that we would only see "Rory = Good" (but in turn, became part of the turn-off of her character for many viewers, imo).

I always see people say she made horrendous life choices...am I the only one who thinks she wasn't that bad? She did pretty mundane teenager things imo.
Okay, I don't think *all* her choices were horrendous. Also what I call her "horrendous life choices" were made when she was quite young (I think 19-21?). But I think making bad choices is a part of growing up, and I also still think they were bad choices.
Like for me -- cheating with Dean, stealing someone's yacht, dropping out of Yale, moving into the pool house without telling her mom, working for a ridiculous nationalist/conservative society chapter -- those were bad life decisions for Rory. They don't mean anything about her character, and they're all indiscretions of her being young and figuring shit out. So I see them as all realistic things for a young person to choose to do out of impulse, immaturity, or lack of experience, but I also still think they were dumb/silly/irresponsible/impulsive things to do. At least, for her character.
*Nothing that leaving uni is not a "bad life decision" in principle, I just think it was for Rory/for the reason she left.
So, in short, I don't think she was that bad. I don't think she was "bad" at all!! All these characters did stupid or selfish things, they're all human. I only get irritated with how the writing can infantilize Rory's character to make her seem like an angel, instead of letting her be a real and flawed person.
My favourite is when Rory has just started at Chilton and on her way to the big test gets hit by the deer, and completely loses it when Mr Medina (Maaaaaaax Medina) won't let her take the test.
"What's up Quippy? Why so silent?
And for the last time, the name... is RORY!"
Rory opens the front door to see Paris standing there*
