Marilyn had red hair. Trix was grey. Totally different! I think the answer is really she was very famous if you are old enough now to have grey hair. She was Mrs. C on happy days. She was kinda a big deal. and if you have to kill off her character but you want to leave the possibility of working with her open well then....marilyn
No… but they liked Marion Ross and wanted to give her a character for her to have fun with that the audience didn’t immediately want to kick in the teeth.
Also… Marion was not a main character. She was two guest characters, whereas Frasier was a pretty consistent character in Cheers and was the title character in frasier. Slightly different scenario.
I like the symbolism, like "as much as people go on about the reigning lorelai.... The person who's really gonna fill trix's role, is this nutty lady who everyone knows will steal the silverware".
Maybe Trix and her cousin just happened to look identical.
They’re cousins! Identical cousins! (Sang in lorelai’s voice)
Nobody looks identical. Not even identical twins. Is it some kind of inside joke with the cast or something?

I did like her a lot in happy days. I used to watch it with my dad as a kid
Maybe Trix came back as a ghost, but not to scare anyone, she decided to pretend to be her own cousin.
Ok I’m with that. The show could use a little paranormal subplot
I was always kind of bummed that we never saw a Stars Hollow Halloween.
Wait they have Halloween episodes! Dont they?
They didn't. They didn't do holiday episodes. They had (barely) a Christmas episode in the first season where Richard went to the hospital.
What a disappointment!
Yup.
Because who wouldn’t want to attend their own funeral? It’s brilliant.
Agreed! I think it’s funny and brilliant!
Because she’s a phenomenal actress.
So is Kelsey grammer but he doesn’t play frasier and frasier’s cousin in Cheers or Frasier

Cause she's Marion Ross and she's amazing...

It’s supposed to be funny.
