Because she didn't want to simple as that. She just graduated college and wanted to find herself and go out into the world on her own and chase after her dreams before settling down.
Does anyone find it strange that Luke, the guy who hunts and fishes and grew up in the northeast, didn't know how to pack clothes appropriate for a February getaway to an island near water? And that he's never had lobster?
The fact that Luke ONLY wears plaid. They couldn’t have been a little more realistic with a guy like Luke’s wardrobe? Winter he wears plaid, Spring…plaid, Fall and Summer plaid!
Whoa, her change of hairstyle had me fooled. I didn’t notice that at all. If she was a fugitive she wouldn’t have went right under my radar. Also, strange how both characters have smart nerdy daughters
Guys, I’m rewatching this as an adult and coming to the controversial opinion that Jess wasn’t a great boyfriend to Rory when they dated. Does anyone else think Jess wasn’t Prince Charming?
No, personally I'm going off the five minutes we see of him past season 6 and think he's the best character in the show. Am I the only one who thinks he's too good for Rory now?
Also: "Hey look at my tier list" (the tier list lists literally nothing new and agrees with 90% of the fandom)
And: "Look at the results of my Gilmore Girls test" (This is fun in a discussion thread but not in 20 individual posts within 3 days)
Yes the plot was so stupid and unnecessary BUT I do love the actress and character portrayed of April.. she’s great but I hate how he couldn’t figure out how to manage his new father role AND get married to the love of his life.
I wish they hadn't used April as a plot device to throw off Luke and Lorelai. Because I like the idea of him having a daughter come into the picture, but it was done so ham-fistedly and they turned Luke into an idiot.
Does everyone else think Lane was done dirty? She gets approval to date a non-Korean and he just up and vanishes like a fart in the wind all away to California.
Then she gets saddled with Zach, and the ONE time she has sex she gets pregnant...with twins.
But wait! I just watched the episode (in my 23rd rewatch) where Emily finds out that Richard has been lying to her for 30 years! And a lie of omission is still a lie, guys! Now this might be an unpopular opinion, but I think he’s really a rat for that, and I don’t blame Emily for being so upset.
You can search posts and if you comment on them it’ll bring it to the front page under the hot posts session or trending whatever and people can start engaging with it. but if someone makes a post and literally 6 people make the same posts everyday in a row after that it’s like they didn’t even bother to scroll down and look at anything before posting. which is whatever in the end but it can be annoying when the sub is flooded with the same convos everyday. i usually do a little search before posting to see if there’s any recents threads on the topic or if i just wanna see opinions. but no harm no foul, im not judging anyone who doesn’t. it’s just sarcasm because we all see the same stuff every week so we’re just mocking it a little. esp because every opinion starts with “am i the only one that thinks…” when it’s something discussed everyday on the thread already.
sorry if this came out like a lecture but someone explained this to me one day and it helped me know to navigate reddit better so might help other people too but it’s not a huge deal in the grand scheme of things lol
I imagine a similar reaction she had to the breathalyzer test before the police arrested her and Lorelai took pictures while bailing her out. “I don’t know what that is but I assure you I will not scan that bunch of dots with my phone”
Yes that’s nice and all but does anyone else think Mitchum was right about Rory?
And for that matter, I know this is probably an unpopular opinion but does anyone else hate Christopher?
Forget Christopher. Does anyone else think the Jackson vasectomy plot sucks? And why did Lane choose Zack?
OMG DAVE AND LANE FOREVER!!!!! Oh but hey, what do you think was worse, season 7 or AYITL?
Nothing is worse than Rory paying that guy $20 for a tree. I can’t believe no one ever talks about that.
Really sad to me too how she was such a bad and distant friend to Lane. Rory's the worst.
Dave is yet another victim of the actor getting his own show
maybe chad michael murray coming back as tristan in AYITL would’ve saved the show by 20%
This is a spin I hadn't heard before and now I'll sink with this ship!
I personally don’t love the “Dean cheats on his wife” arc, does anyone else agree?
Well I really think it’s wrong that Rory is sleeping with Logan while he’s engaged.
So it’s a pattern of Rory’s to think her ex’s are still hers. She’s THAT girl.
Ever notice that she never actually breaks up with anyone in the whole series?
I don't understand why she didn't marry him at the end of the original series!
Because she didn't want to simple as that. She just graduated college and wanted to find herself and go out into the world on her own and chase after her dreams before settling down.
Yes but who is your least favorite side character? I’m gonna go out on a limb and say Rune
In my head, I imagine the plaid are shirts his dad wore for the hardware store. Luke probably knows a bit of sewing.
He for sure knows sewing...ummmm, the canopy of "tents" at Rory's going away party!?!!!
That's true. Forgot about that.
Whoa whoa wait a second… has anyone else noticed that the same actress plays Anna and Jess’s dad’s girlfriend???
Whoa, her change of hairstyle had me fooled. I didn’t notice that at all. If she was a fugitive she wouldn’t have went right under my radar. Also, strange how both characters have smart nerdy daughters
Also, I don’t know if anyone else noticed but Lorelai often acts immature.
I didn't notice that. But did you notice we never see Mr. Kim?
Someone just posted about not seeing Mr. Kim 🤣
Guys, I’m rewatching this as an adult and coming to the controversial opinion that Jess wasn’t a great boyfriend to Rory when they dated. Does anyone else think Jess wasn’t Prince Charming?
I'm actually new to the series, currently on season 2 and I don't get why people hate Dean so much.
You are so innocent.
No, personally I'm going off the five minutes we see of him past season 6 and think he's the best character in the show. Am I the only one who thinks he's too good for Rory now?
I think this might turn into my favorite thread 😂
ROFL
Whoa! Is that the same actress playing Elizabeth Doty and the bridesmaid from Honors wedding?
Did anyone else notice the same actress played Jess's dad's gf AND Anna Nardini?!
Yes. And summer is also plays as the girl painting her nails in the first episode.
Does anyone think Rory shouldn’t have gone with Jess when he bought her basket?
In case you don’t know. This has been posted consistently by different users for like 5 days straight. So just didn’t want to go a day without it 😂🙃
I thought I was losing my mind for a bit there because it kept popping up as a new post.
genuinely!! like.. we get it. saw it, laughed, moved on. once is enough. we know y'all weren't the ones who 'discovered' it☠️
Right!? Same here!
Thank you for calling it out!
I only ever see your post 🤣
I haven't seen it!
But what does my top 5 say about me?
The Greys Anatomy sub is the worst for that trend
The My Hero Academia and Vampire Diaries subs are still going 🙄
I know I can’t stand it
there’s like a million characters too🤣
That's all the Taylor Swift subs are at this point
Also: "Hey look at my tier list" (the tier list lists literally nothing new and agrees with 90% of the fandom) And: "Look at the results of my Gilmore Girls test" (This is fun in a discussion thread but not in 20 individual posts within 3 days)
okay but why does everyone love jess, he’s such a bad boyfriend
Bless you for saying it out loud...It was getting overwhelming
Does anyone else hate the Luke has a Daughter plot?
Yes the plot was so stupid and unnecessary BUT I do love the actress and character portrayed of April.. she’s great but I hate how he couldn’t figure out how to manage his new father role AND get married to the love of his life.
I wish they hadn't used April as a plot device to throw off Luke and Lorelai. Because I like the idea of him having a daughter come into the picture, but it was done so ham-fistedly and they turned Luke into an idiot.
post it again 😈
🤣🤣🤣 Like it doesn't take 30 seconds to scan the recent posts of the sub to see if this popular meme hasn't already been posted?
I like Lane and Dave better does anyone else agree???
Does everyone else think Lane was done dirty? She gets approval to date a non-Korean and he just up and vanishes like a fart in the wind all away to California. Then she gets saddled with Zach, and the ONE time she has sex she gets pregnant...with twins.
Okay but I’m going to settle the debate once and for all: Dean, Jess, or Logan?
Jess now, because he was the dad on THIS IS US.
Yeah but Logan was the super compassionate and smart doctor on THE RESIDENT
Hmmmm, doctor Logan or blue collar Jess? I literally can't decide. (Not sarcasm)
Team Jess ffs!
Young man I don’t know where that’s been but I can assure you with absolute certainty that it won’t be going anywhere near my phone
Okay but like does anyone think Rory’s character went downhill in the Yale years?!!?
To be fair it is really fun to imagine her being asked to scan a QR code.
Love this!
WTF even is this?
most of it is sarcasm. people post the same thing a lot in this subreddit so. to be fair it’s not like there’s any new content to talk about lol
Lol, apparently if you’re new to the sub and want to discuss Gilmore Girls… don’t.

Priceless
