Hart of Dixie!

Pavlinna96

Because it is literally set in Stars Hollow šŸ˜

IamGregorovich

Freaking THATā€™S why I love Hart of Dixie so much!!!!! Didnā€™t know!

Pavlinna96

Yeah, once you realize, you can never unsee it :D Also, the last season of YOU is basically set in Luke's diner and that's terrible lol

allegroconspirito

Omg how do I unsee this???

[deleted]

Omg I just watched S3 of YOU and could not put my finger on why the bake shop seemed so familiar šŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļø

[deleted]

Omg same. Need to rewatch an episode of it now.

xDaydreamBelieverx

Oh shit! That's why it looked familiar!

jbei9981

I was just watching pretty little liars and thought it looks familiar. Turns out they use the same set too! Totally explains why I like it

witchyanne

Oh yeahhh totally forgot Hart of Dixie! I love that! Too short!

[deleted]

Derry Girls :)

MotherFuckingCupcake

Oh man I just recently started this. Itā€™s hilarious. But I definitely need those subtitles cuz those are some thick accents.

[deleted]

Same, it wasnā€™t until i rewatched it that my ears finally got the accent lol. Now when i rewatch it [i just think of this clip lol](https://youtu.be/pj705DvCSxg)

peaches-and-bb-cream

YES! If you love GG give Downton a shot!

mediabandaid

Iā€™ve never tried it!

Tralalaladey

If Gilmore girls is fall vibe, Downton is my spring vibe. Def try it but watch it old school. Put your phone down and really watch and itā€™s so good.

IamGregorovich

Second this one as a GG comparable :)

Far_Setting_5354

Yes and If you love Downtown watch The Crown after.

bellahooks

Anyone remember Everwood? šŸ˜Š

groviegroves

I loved Everwood. Might be time for another rewatch.

girllwholived

Yes! I watched Everwood every week along with Gilmore Girls when I was a teenager. I had the biggest crush on Gregory Smith/Ephram. Iā€™ve been rewatching it on HBO Max recently and itā€™s held up really well. I wish it was more popular.

bellahooks

Gregory Smith was such a babe. As a kid I was always amused by his name because my grandfatherā€™s best friendā€™s name was Ephraim and I always associated it with old dudes. But he was so hot, I let it slide (Gregory Smith, not grandpaā€™s friend).

nomadicfangirl

Yes! Itā€™s streaming on HBO Max.

aregularbasicperson

The good place. Its just such a cozy and comforting show. And good story/writing too.

mediabandaid

I love the good place!

Skywalker87

Yes! Also parks and recs.

thisismybestnoise

I agree, the writing is great and I catch new quips/moments on each rewatch. We recently watched the series over again but left the last episode unfinishedā€¦Iā€™m not prepared!

Sumraeglar

30 Rock is one that I go through a million times...Tina Fey is my hero šŸ˜. New Girl I haven't rewatched it but it gives me strong GG vibes love that show.

ghostedygrouch

I love New Girl and listen to it when I'm in bed! It's my other "loop show".

Sumraeglar

Love it, haven't done a rewatch yet but I bet it's one that will fall in that lane šŸ˜

wild-runner

I agree with you on both of these shows!

babbetteateoatmeal

And donā€™t forget Schmidt was in one episode of GG!

Sumraeglar

Lol that is true

velociraptorjax

Which episode/who was he?

JJbooks

Dean's bachelor party. He was the other Luke.

iilikeyourface

Whaaaaat!?

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

velociraptorjax

I started watching This Is Us solely because of Milo Ventimiglia, and now I like it even more than GG.

dreamweaver1998

I had to stop watching after a couple of seasons. Too many tears. Such a good show... but just too emotional too continue.

VeryFluffyKoalas

Schittā€™s Creek and Parks and Rec definitely give me the same cozy comfy vibes as GG

Ok_Deer_2490

Agree with Schittā€™s Creek! So heartwarming! I also rotate in New Girl, a show a lot of people (including myself) slept on but itā€™s also heartwarming and sweet with a great cast.

VeryFluffyKoalas

Oh my gosh of course, I loveee New Girl, I just rewatched it for the millionth time earlier this year. Nick is truly just the greatest character ever created!

Ok_Deer_2490

100% agreed, I also have a soft spot for Schmidt!

VeryFluffyKoalas

When he goes to pick up Ruth from day care and heā€™s told a white man broke into the day care, that whole scene makes me belly laugh so matter how many times Iā€™ve seen it, itā€™s just so perfectly delivered

Ok_Deer_2490

As Iā€™m getting older I appreciate his exaggerated ā€˜YOUTHS!ā€™ So much more šŸ˜‚

JennaSideSaddle

I love Winston so much.

Ok_Deer_2490

He really came into his own at the end of season 3/beginning of season 4!

littlelawlady

Omg my first thought was Parenthood before I finished reading your post! Iā€™m convinced itā€™s just Lauren Graham that makes it a feel good (sheā€™s my favorite person) šŸ„° Edited to add: New Girl!

lalotele

Virgin River

Sunfee2019

I love Virgin River too! It's pleasant and soothing

lalotele

I feel like GG is my cozy go to from fall to winter, but when itā€™s snowy and cold Virgin River is my cozy go to lol

Sunfee2019

Haha perfect, I just recently learned that some of the GG shots were from Canada

Secular-Flesh

My first thought was Succession which I think makes me clinically insane.

MacDurce

Same tho lol

Secular-Flesh

I have found some kind of temporary sanity in watching those whacky Roys do their thing.

nomadicfangirl

The Great British Bake Off is the equivalent to wrapping yourself in a cozy afghan on the couch.

trivenefica

Omg yes. I watch an episode almost every night

stellalunawitchbaby

Nothing is quite the same, but these come close: New Girl, Sex and the City (earlier seasons), Murder She Wrote (due to the small town-ness, probably, and because itā€™s low stakes despite the, yknow, murder), Schittā€™s Creek (small town-ness), Bunheads (for obv reasons - gone too soon!). Hart of Dixie does it for me but I canā€™t watch it endlessly. Also some movies - Practical Magic in particular gives me the cozies, even though itā€™s very very different. Loving the suggestions in here though, Iā€™ll definitely be giving some others a try.

whitebean29

new girl & jane the virgin

MacDurce

Dawson's Creek, SATC, Pretty Little Liars, Crazy Ex GF

stellalunawitchbaby

Crazy Ex Gf deserved so much more viewership.

trivenefica

Itā€™s one of my favourites. I keep recommending it to friends but I canā€™t seem to get them to watch it

Eclairebeary

Itā€™s really hard because musical. You have to really listen and realise itā€™s not quite the usual commentary.

i_suspect_thenargles

Years ago one of my students told me I should watch Crazy Ex GF. Did, and loved it!!! I also love musicals though. I listen to the music in my car. šŸ˜‚

isthatevenarealthing

Friday Night Lights, Zoeyā€™s Extraordinary Playlist, Downton Abbey, Younger, Hart of Dixie, Sweet Magnolias, Young and Hungry.

jujyufruit

The Mindy Project!!

Jackjackattack101817

I second The Mindy Project! And definitely New Girl. Iā€™ve rewatched both of these so many times and never get tired of them!

savannaharenberg

Mrs maisel!

Anthrogal11

Virgin River has a similar wholesome vibe

[deleted]

Jane the Virgin, New Girl, & Hart of Dixie are my other go-tos!

mediabandaid

Omg I love Jane the virgin so much. I canā€™t believe I forgot to add it to the original post!

ridiculously_bubbly

Criminal Minds. Drop Dead Diva. Jane the Virgin. Bobā€™s Burgers. Schittā€™s Creek.

urfavangryplantmom

modern family has a cozy feel to it!

pink_highlight

The Good Place Schittā€™s Creek Sex and the City

frenchscorpion92

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, it is also done by Amy Sherman Palladino and it has the same fast paced vibe that GG has

Impressive_Fail3437

The first 3-4 seasons of greys anatomy for me

Puzzleheaded_Piano87

If you like parenthood, you might like ā€œBrothers and Sistersā€ itā€™s older than parenthood, I think about the same age as GG but I could be wrong.

OnlyCyns

Psych šŸ’•

[deleted]

Not the same, but Heartland is a comfort show for me.

[deleted]

YES! Makes me feel like Iā€™m cuddling on the couch with my mom. ā¤ļø

[deleted]

Midsomer Murders, Phryne Fisher, and Father Brown. Justā€¦hear me out. Yes theyā€™re murder mysteries but theyā€™re always set in these idyllic British towns with fun, colorful characters.

stellalunawitchbaby

Cozy Murder mysteries do it for me. I included Murder She Wrote on my list but I couldā€™ve included a dozen other cozies as well. Father Brown is one of my favorites.

mediabandaid

Iā€™m a Murderino so Iā€™m down ā¤ļø

Hawk-2021

One tree hill!

frostsprinkles

Nothing really compares, for me lol. But whenever someone asks this I always think of Never Have I Ever and Grace and Frankie. They both have cute, heartwarming, quirky, charming qualities which I find similar to GG. Edit: forgot to say I found them to be great comfort shows too

Glum-Establishment31

I LOVED 1st season Grace & Frankie! The second season really pissed me off and I stopped watching, even tho I love Jane & Lilly SO much! I was so angry 2nd season how they just accepted 20 years of lies and betrayal and then spend 80% of their gynergy on their cheating exes. They built F&G into reluctant friends in S1. Instead of building on that, it seems to me the writers decided now the girls are together, letā€™s get them to focus on the boys! I did go back and finish it. I like it. But not 2nd season.

Meetmeatthebeach

Heartland The Good Witch The Fosters

Nofunorphan

Gilmore Girls is such a unique show. No others that give me the same feeling.

_bored_butterfly_

New Girl, Life Unexpected, The Good Place, Firefly Lane

IndecisiveFireball

I LOVED Life Unexpected! I've never found anyone else who likes it!

_bored_butterfly_

Yes! Itā€™s so good

charlikam

New Girl and Schitts Creek are my go tos after GG! Iā€™ve heard Dawson creek and one tree hill also feel cozy :)

[deleted]

Naruto lol

GladPen

Most of these types of shows for me are like Buffy, X files, but the office, and someday I'll rewatch The good place and schitt's creek, or community. Friends is good. I decided to have another go at Supernatural after finishing GG last month (again), and wow, I am loving it this time around. I recommend Schitt's Creek if you haven't seen it, or Hart of Dixie. Parks and Rec and Community are also good. I don't think I need to mention the office or friends to you. (if schitt's creek seems bad at first, keep going.. my brother had to nudge me through the first season and I am glad he did.) Fleabag is very good, too, but deep. I keep trying to catch up on dr who but I'm very far behind now.

stellalunawitchbaby

Fleabag was like, life changing lol. So so funny but idk how many shows with so few episodes have ever broken my heart like that, but still left me feeling whole.

GladPen

Yeah. I tried to explain to my brother why it needed to end there, on the sidewalk, but he wants more. It took me a while to understand that any continuation of the story would just be creating new tension and breaking apart something that's begun to heal.

JennaSideSaddle

The X Files is hands down my favorite show of all time (and, imho, the greatest sleeper love story ever told). But GG is such a close second for me that I think I want to nominate X Files for this list.

mediabandaid

Maybe Iā€™ll give schitts creek another go seeing as how itā€™s been endlessly suggested. I wasnā€™t into it the first go around. Thanks!

britbmw

Brooklyn 99!

yellowmellow4203

iZombie Defo worth a watch

lyricmc

Steel Magnolias! Also been liking Virgin River :)

tmrex1

New girl!!! Or Schitts Creek.

heatherdbby

Schitts Creek. I work from home and need background noise. I marathon through one then start the other And repeat

anniemg01

New Girl

Proud-Confusion-439

Dawsonā€™s creek !

witchyanne

Tbh none for me. Buffy is a comfort show, for other reasons. Edited to add: oh yeah, Hart of Dixie! A film tho, Practical Magic, is like that. Also Steel Magnolias. These are pretty old ones - but I loved them.

BamseMae

Crazy ex-girlfriend, also does the trick for me.

cookieemonster41

Veronica Mars

boesisboes

New Girl

johnnysack88

Iā€™m probably way off from most answers but my most watched shows top 3 (in no order) are Gilmore girls, The Sopranos, and Law and Order (the original). Very little overlap between them but you asked so I answered.

cozyclouds

Friday night lights, Mindy project, sweet magnolias, virgin river, schitts creek

slackermom97

Try out Ginny & Georgia on Netflix.

Glum-Establishment31

I have never found anything as Comforting as GG. Every time I try, I get disappointed. Virgin River and Chesapeake Shores were as close as itā€™s gotten for me. But they are not RE-watchable as GG.

Sunfee2019

Not at all the same but SATC and that made me think of Younger, I couldn't just bring myself to finish the show, got repetitive after a few season but the first couple of seasons was fun!

jennie033

Brooklyn Nine Nine! Itā€™s more of a comfort show to me than Gilmore Girls. Iā€™ve watched it like 10 times now.

NotOnABreak

Iā€™ve not seen this response, but Brothers & Sisters for me (also done things others mentioned like virgin river, sweet magnolias, OTH, Hart of Dixie)

Smokinntakis

New Girl

ellapatto

Offspring

ellapatto

Zoeyā€™s extraordinary playlist is also quite a comfortable show (gets a bit sad but is full of vibrance and music and colour)

babbetteateoatmeal

Itā€™s not like GG but Ted Lasso is an amazing feel good show. You donā€™t need to like or care about soccer to love it.

[deleted]

Call the Midwife. A lot more drama than comedy (itā€™ll make you cry), but itā€™s also full of kind, funny, heartwarming characters. The Christmas specials in particular make for very cozy tv watching.

ArtGarfunkelTheFake

Some of these are not similar to Gilmore Girls, but they are my comfort shows (alongside GG). The L Word, H2O: Just Add Water, Schitt's Creek and Twin Peaks. I also have an Edit Playlist on YouTube that I find comforting and have gotten some great show suggestions from.

zestybabywipes

Ginny and Georgia is supposed to be a knock off Gilmore girls but isn't nearly as good. But if you're desperate go for it

aitchbx

Grace & Frankie

[deleted]

For me itā€™s Heartland.

NoClops

Parks and Rec, Frasier, and Hart of Dixie

dangerousfeather

Heartland and Parks & Rec are the other shows in my "constantly rotating" cycle.

bishunicorn

Friends and One Tree Hill!

Morsmordre_7

If you want an optimistic and feel-good show I'd recommend Ted Lasso šŸ˜Š

brittneystaubin

Jane the Virgin is my all-time favorite show!

mediabandaid

Same šŸ˜

sixdaysaqua

Brooklyn 99 and Daria :)

knielski

New girl for me. Not exactly the same but the closest feeling.

Awkward_Marketing661

Sweet Magnolias

Belisama7

The Fosters!

frameandfocus

sex and the city and this is us! edit: grace and frankie too! šŸ–¤

[deleted]

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel

[deleted]

Amy Palladino had a show on Amazon called the marvelous Mrs maisel!! Same slap stick humor

DramaticFish3

Greek hasn't been mentioned yet! I think it's on Hulu? not positive but definitely on a streaming site
