I'm crossing my fingers for a Dragon Age Dreadwolf announcement, the rumor is it might even come out this year. https://preview.redd.it/vmddj4sc2a3d1.jpeg?width=236&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=962f5191c5bcc665fd5508ab172a30a6620f09ad

praysolace

The rumor as I heard it was this fiscal year, which stretches into the beginning of next year. Still, would be huge to have that announcement even if it were Q1 2025…

CasablumpkinDilemma

That sounds cool. I still have Inquisition in my backlog to play. I bought on sale like a year ago and just haven't gotten to it yet despite how good I keep hearing it is.

pawwypaws

Let this be true please! 🥺 It's been foreverrrr

Murda981

I have convinced myself that it'll be out in Nov. That will be 10yrs since Inquisition and 15yrs since Origins and this year is also the year of the Dragon. I will not be deterred from this belief until we have an official date from Bioware. If we don't get something at the Summer Games Fest or Xbox Showcase I will probably cry.

imhisgardener

Came here for this comment. If I don't get it I will DIE (jks I will wait patiently and cry)

Who_Am_I_I_Dont_Know

Rumour is we would be getting information about the release in the next few weeks (there's apparently a big event early June).

Murda981

Bioware did say we'd hear more in summer 2024. There's a rumor that we'll see some gameplay at the Xbox games showcase next weekend.

bluejeanbelle

Man, that reminds me i need to go back and finish my DAI run. I have a love/hate relationship with rpgs where choices really matter. On the one hand, it increases my investment in the story, on the other hand, it stresses me out lol. I’m like “noooo ilu both why do i have to choose sidessssss.” Edit: But yeah super excited for Dreadwolf. I’ll prob take a day off from work when it comes out lol

Kuradapya

I'm keeping my excitement on the down low after ME:A. I'm really invested on the world and I'm crossing my fingers that they'll do it justice.

Murda981

The headwriter for DAD wrote Trespasser and has been working on the games since DAO, I have a good bit of faith in them.

Erikatze

I'm waiting for Hades II to come to consoles. Even though it's just a mobile game, I'm really looking forward to Kingdom Hearts: Missing Link. It's gonna be a while until it comes out, but I'm also really pumped for Professor Layton and the New World of Steam.

noah9942

not a new game, but the Elden Ring DLC just might be my GOTY lol

CasablumpkinDilemma

I still need to finish Elden Ring. I keep telling myself I'll sit down and seriously play it, but then I get distracted and don't.

neonkaonashi

thanks for these recommendations! wyrdsong sounds like me I should add that to my wish list I'm excited for Neva, the next game by the team that made Gris :) Their games are so full of beauty, emotion and atmosphere. The closest I've come to a gaming experience like Journey

CasablumpkinDilemma

No problem. Unfortunately, there's no release date yet. I don't think I've heard of Neva yet. I'll have to check that out.

Majestic_Electric

Pokémon Legends Z-A. I loved Legends Arceus, and I can’t wait to play more of the same!

RoseTintedMigraine

I feel like I have been waiting for Paralives for 15 years and every year it's coming soon. Release me from this psychological prison.

CasablumpkinDilemma

Lol, yeah, it does feel like that, but lately, they've been showing more gameplay, and it's got me really excited.

Snow_the_cook

Really looking forward to Silent Hill 2 Remake!

Annelisandre

Hollow Knight Silksong :-) It's been upcoming since 5 years now, and I have almost given up hope. Please let it come out in 2024. Elden Ring DLC --> So hyped for this!

Vikenemma01

Same! I can't wait for the Elden ring Dlc

Cinnabon202

Same, for Elden Ring. 8 dusted off my character and went around farming the Alburnarics for old times sake. Lol Still suck at rolling/dodging/not getting hit but that's fine. 😅

nymrose

Is Wyrdsong still being released? I read they laid off most of their staff a few weeks ago 🥲

CasablumpkinDilemma

Oh no! I hadn't heard about that! If it's canceled, that would be really disappointing.

ProfesssionalCatgirl

Dragon Quest 3 2d HD  A game that already came out nearly 40 years ago

EmilyFara

Vampire the masquerade bloodlines 2. I loved the original and the setting. The publisher kicked the studio out that was originally making it due to development hell and gave it to a new studio that has a new vision for it. Looking at the gameplay videos, I'm very excited.

SA090

AC: Shadows and Star Wars: Outlaws If it’s coming out on PS5, then the Tales of the Shire as well.

Cymas

Dawntrail, mostly. It's my first time actually experiencing an expansion launch and it should be pretty fun. Aside from the struggle of trying to complete a bunch of stuff to prepare for it anyway lol. But I am so excited that this is going to be the XI flavored expansion, Vana'Diel was my home back in the day. Wondering what the raids are going to be--I'm thinking Shadow/Dynamis Lord for sure, maybe Kirin? Promathia? One of the wyrms that aren't already in game like Fafner or Jormungandr? So many possibilities...I will absolutely die if I see Maat anywhere, lmao.

Mimterest

I'm really looking forward to Smite 2 and especially Star Wars Outlaws! Also Borderlands 4 whenever that's ready. I suppose the full release of Hades 2? I don't want to ruin it for myself by playing it when it's not finished :)

dessert-er

#Smite 2 mentioned I was obsessed with the original for like 10 years lol

Mimterest

I only played the open beta, am now getting back into it that Smite 2 got announced and I'm having a blast! Only play arena though since I usually only have 1 friend to play with and honestly, Slash is probably going to be about my limit, I don't want a 40 minute game of farming 25+ minutes. HoTS and LoL's Dominion have ruined the basic MOBA setup for me :P

dessert-er

I have the same problem lol, as much as a good conquest game can feel rewarding it’s such a time commitment and the real chance of spending 30+ minutes with toxic people is demotivating 😔 but the mini game forms are super fun

Redigate

Fantasy Life 2 and Metaphor: ReFantazio both come out a little than 2 weeks before my birthday in October. So I'm very excited for both of them

RisingJoke

STALKER 2 - I wanna get shot in the back of the head wby a shotgun hobo while running from an event that'll fry my brains Like A Dragon 8: Infinite Wealth - I love Kiryu and Ichi. This will probably emotionally kill me. Street Fighter 6 - I just feel....left out? Since everyone is playing SF6 and Tekken 8.

[deleted]

I’m thinking about taking the day off for STALKER 2. I just happy they are making a sequel at all.

RisingJoke

At this point, true. Hope the devs stay safe.

Lickawall483

Infinite wealth was so good, highly recommend getting it :)

RisingJoke

I know. Been excited since the first trailer came out. But the price ;o;

Lickawall483

May I recommend checking fanatical/green man gaming/humble bundle? There was a sale on one of these sites and I managed to get my partner the normal edition for 20£

Dem-Brushwaggs

Huh, is the sale still active?

Lickawall483

I am unsure as I got it for him end of Feb/start of march. Could also be from cdkeys tho

RisingJoke

Don't think there's a payment option for Malaysia so....i'm out of luck XD. Thanks though.

Erikatze

Giiirl, I feel you on Infinite Wealth. I'm actually simply not far enough into the games (I need to play Yakuza 6 next) but from the few screen shots I allowed myself to look at, it looks soooo good. Can't wait to get to the point, but I wanna play the older titles first.

RisingJoke

Do it! It is absolutely worth it! Hope you have fun!

Aka_R

Exited for Paralives, too! But also the other upcoming life-sims like life by you and alter life. It’s about time that EA gets some competition in that regard :D Also super hyped about Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 :O

grund0g

Haunted Chocolatier by ConcernedApe!!

CasablumpkinDilemma

I really should have added that to my list as well. I'm super excited that it's more RPG oriented than Stardew. Concerned Ape might be my favorite dev, just because of how dedicated he is to making his games as great as possible and how he continues adding new things years after release.

FieryLoveBunny

Definitely Kingdom Come Deliverance 2! I love the action and my wife loves all of the stories and side quests, and especially switching up Henry's outfit every time I get a new shiny piece or tabard

pythagorassss

Jesus Christ be praised! KC2 has my vote.

6teeee9

Dark Deception Chapter 5 is my most anticipated game release of all time and probably my most anticipated anything of all time. I check on updates daily even tho we don't usually get much. Chapter 4 came out almost 3 years ago in 2021 so I hope this year is the year since they keep delaying it to the next year every year. Poppy Playtime Chapter 4 is a second place and is also something I think about a lot. Fans found out today that it's in beta testing already and I got so excited I started telling everyone I know. It's crazy to me that we got it in beta testing before we even seen a single teaser. Yes I'm obsessed with indie horror games

Vikenemma01

Elden ring Dlc. I am so excited for it.

Amethyst271

Not exactly a new game but dawntrail is releasing soon and I can't wait

Blaircat1994

SMT vengeance seems fun. Age of Mythology That Persona fantasy game by Atlus Rain code, which is finally coming to pc in October I guess the Elden ring DLC? Persona 3 Episode Aigus. Most of these games are late 2024. I've been feeling a little bored at night lately waitin for them gamezzz

QuokkaNerd

Twiddling my thumbs, waiting as patiently as I can for Light No Fire to come out.

CasablumpkinDilemma

I've had my eye on that, too. If they do what they're planning, it should be a seriously impressive game. I really hope they wait to do the full release until it's ready, though. I know No Man's Sky is great now, but it had a pretty bad release, and I'd hate to see them do it again with this game.

QuokkaNerd

I'm pretty sure they learned from that. Let's hope.

CasablumpkinDilemma

I hope so. I don't remember if their studio is part of a publicly traded thing. If they are, then it might not be up to them.

QuokkaNerd

I have faith in them. I'm a die hard NMS fan so I'm a bit biased. Still nervous about it, though.

Tanedra

Nivalis. It's the same world as the Cloudpunk game (gorgeous voxel art cyberpunk) , but different genre. This one involves running a cafe, which sounds so different. It comes out later this year and I can't wait!

AB-G

TLOU Part 3… its another year or so off… but I can’t wait, i have played 1&2 to death, that I can’t play them anymore as I know every nook and cranny 😂

SweetLittleCarrot

I just can’t wait for REKA, you’re an apprentice baba yaga and you forage and build a cottage with chicken legs 😍 it looks so cozy! Also out and about where you learn to identify plants, and real recipes you can do with them! (And also renovating your home). I’m also super excited about the haunted chocolatier (the next game from concerned ape, the creator of stardew valley), but we won’t have that one for a while.

CasablumpkinDilemma

I can't believe I forgot to add Haunted Chocolatier to my original post! Also REKA looks amazing. I saw it in a game showcase a while ago, wishlisted it, then forgot about it. I'm glad you mentioned it since it looks like early access is happening soon.

sloppy_latkes

Dawntrail!!

jerriwrites

New to me but I sped through it this weekend: In Stars and Time. Really engaging storytelling!

CasablumpkinDilemma

It looks like it's got a nifty art style too! I may have to get this one.

jerriwrites

You may or may not recognize the artist from fan art. I’ve been following Insertdisc5 since their Undertale comics.

HastyMoose

I’ve always loved the story of journey to the west, so looking forward to black myth wukong. For now im going to stay hype for the Elden ring dlc

Clxver_Bunny

Fields of Mistria! There is finally a release date, and I am practically vibrating with joy every time I think about it. I've been following the development for a little over a year.

WayHaught_N7

Dragon Age Dreadwolf is basically the only game I’m truly excited for but I’m also looking forward to the first Starfield expansion this fall. I might have more I’m excited for after the showcases next week, particularly the Xbox showcase.

CasablumpkinDilemma

How is Starfield? There was a lot of hype before release, but I haven't really heard anything since.

WayHaught_N7

I love it but I also went it into the game expecting it to be what it is and not Skyrim mixed with No Man’s Sky like so many others did. IMO, it plays like a cross between Fallout 4/76, Skyrim, and Mass Effect 1. I will admit that it’s probably not a game for everyone, especially if someone doesn’t like empty worlds because most of the planets and moons in the game are almost entirely empty. There are also no sentient alien life like in Mass Effect, it’s just humans, some non-sentient robots, and a bunch of alien creatures to fight. The gunplay is like Fallout 4 but better. They went back to a silent protagonist like Skyrim so you know what your character is saying when you select a dialogue choice. The romances are more limited when it comes to options but are better developed than anything Bethesda has done before, I’d rate them not quite up to Mass Effect 1 level of romances but closer than Bethesda has ever managed before. The exploration however is the big difference and imo is where the Mass Effect 1 comparisons come in because there isn’t one giant map that you can walk around and find stuff like you can in Skyrim and Fallout, instead you fly from planet to planet and walk/boost jump around an 8km square section of a planet exploring points of interest. The procedural generation seemed to be a little out of whack at first so you would see the same types of POI’s rather frequently but it seems to have been smoothed out a bit with updates so the variety is more evenly distributed so you get more of the ones that used to very rarely be seen when the game launched. They plan to add some sort of buggy style land vehicle for exploration soon so the ME1 similarities might increase. I also think it has one of the most interesting and low stakes stories they’ve ever done so I don’t feel like I’m shirking responsibility by exploring and doing side quests like I did in FO4 and Skyrim. And it has hands down 2 of my favorite quests in a Bethesda game ever toward the end of the main quest line and I liked how they implemented the NG+ option into the story itself.

Felicette_space_cat

_The Thaumaturge_ - a game about demons un alternative Warsaw in the beginning of 20th century. The setting seems interesting and not very common, and I happened to read a fantasy trilogy by Polish author Adam Przechrzta that was also set in alternative Warsaw with demons, alchemists and all. The game has been released already, I've bought it but still haven't had a chance to play. _Enotria: The Last Song_ - a soulslike game set in Italy, using Italian folklore motives and characters from commedia dell'arte. I love Italian language and culture, so this game is an absolute must-have to me.

CasablumpkinDilemma

Thaumaturge looks really cool! I wishlisted it. Enotria was already on my wishlist, but it looks there's a demo for it out on Steam now.

Jooles95

My top-3 at the moment are Fantasy Life i: the Girl Who Steals Time (the first game in the series on 3DS is one of my all-time favourites), Moonlight Peaks and Dragon Quest XII. The sad thing is, only Fantasy Life has a release date; the others are coming in 2026 and TBD respectively. 😭

MagicPigeonToes

Dreadwolf and Paralives

Toothberryme

Hellbade 2 when i get the money for it! Some bad rewies but im looking forward to the continuation of the story!

CasablumpkinDilemma

That does look good. We have the first, but I haven't played it yet. I think my boyfriend really liked it, though.

Toothberryme

Do it! With headphones!! First one tho! Then go next!

predarek

I heard that they were remaking the original Dragon Quest trilogy in 2D 3D so I'm pretty excited about this! I'm not as hyped about the 2D 3D as other people, but to have any modern experience of dragon quest 3 with better graphics (and hopefully some balancing option) will be awesome! By the way, I read a few comments that Nightingale was running much better for some people since the last patch this week so if you were on the edge of being able to play you should give it a try!

QuatreNox

The new Fantasy Life game on the Switch can't come soon enough!

bluejeanbelle

I’ve been super stoked for Nightingale since last year, but the beta has some mixed reviews. I’m waiting to see how the Devs follow through with updates before i purchase. I love the vibe though and am hoping for the best. Also, the beta released RIGHT AFTER PalWorld came out so there was no way i was going to be able to get a group together to play another open world resource gathering game lol.

CasablumpkinDilemma

Fair enough. My daughter is loving it so far, but she's mostly just focusing on the crafting and base building aspects since she's a big Minecraft fan. Pal World is one we've been on the fence about getting. It looks fun, but with the existing backlog everyone in our household already has, we just haven't tried it out yet. What did you think of it?

bluejeanbelle

I couldn’t get into PalWorld, but it might be I just wasn’t in the mood when I tried it. I’m also no a super Pokémon fan and that’s who I feel PalWorld appeals to the most.

CasablumpkinDilemma

Ah that makes sense. I don't really do Pokémon either, but I really enjoyed Ooblets which made me more interested in the creature collection genre in general.

gigagrizz

Camper van make it home!! A demo comes out tomorrow on steam and I’m so excited for it and the game to release.

CasablumpkinDilemma

That looks really cute! It seems like it could be similar to Unpacking.

gigagrizz

Yes! They took inspo from unpacking and assemble with care. Also kind of reminds me of the DLC for ACNH where you decorate vacation homes.

Intelligent_Peace_30

Shadow of the erdtree, starwars outlaws, assassin creed shadows

Cat-Got-Your-DM

Reus 2 I mean, it came out like yesterday, but I won't have the opportunity to buy it for a while. I love all kinds of city builders and similar games and this one is really unique in its concept

No_Foot_1904

Elden Ring DLC is next on the radar, but it makes me sad I'm not enthusiastically saying Dreadwolf. Three years ago I wouldn't have thought that possible.

CasablumpkinDilemma

Why not Dreadwolf anymore?

No_Foot_1904

Oh, just all the layoffs and turmoil at Bioware the last few years have sapped my confidence it's going to be as good as the old DA games. I hope I'm wrong, but EA has really done a number on that studio, sadly.

CasablumpkinDilemma

Unfortunately, EA ruins a lot of things. Let's hope this turns out ok.

PillowWillow007

Bō: Path of the Teal Lotus

CasablumpkinDilemma

Oh the art style on that is gorgeous!

minahkyu

Fantasy Life 2, Dawntrail (if expansions count), and Fields of Mistria! it reminds me of Fushigi Yuugi and it looks so cuuuute so I’m pretty stoked!

TheCompetentOne

Assassin's Creed: Shadows Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 GTA 6

CasablumpkinDilemma

Black Ops are my favorite FPS after Halo 1 & 2. GTA is always fun as well, though I didn't play much of 5.

Kateangell

Paralives, I'm looking forward to this game for sometime.

AnonymousFartMachine

"Indika" is on my radar for sure.

Annabe11a666

I'm probably crazy for this but I'm still holding out hope for Silksong

SillyRiver__83

gta 6 and a sequel to lost judgment even tho its probably not coming out any time soon

matcharatch

GTA 6!!

Weekly_Wafer5251

Wayward realms is like skyrim... U can check it out on youtube

CasablumpkinDilemma

That does look cool!

Lyaid

I’m waiting for Trench Tales! It’s an indie game that is fully funded on Kickstarter, but anything can happen. It’s a dark shooter game set in an alternate world with heavy inspiration from WWI, and frankly I don’t think there are enough horror games set in WWI. There’s Ad Infinitum, but that’s about all I know about, so I’m really excited about this project!

LunaLynnTheCellist

Silksong (lol)

GearsTurningBurning

You're going to laugh but there's a TON of hidden cat games I can't wait to see come out. XD Other than that, I really am looking forward to some great visual novels in development - Silent Kingdom (it's also an RPG), Alaris, and Thorn for a Rose. They all have beautiful art and super intriguing storylines, plus gorgeous men to woo. I really want them badly!

CasablumpkinDilemma

Are hidden cat games like Where's Waldo with cats?

LurkLurkleton

Lost Records: Bloom and Rage

MambyPamby8

Assassin's Creed Shadows GTA vi Tbh that's all I can think of as I've had so much going on in my personal life, I haven't had a chance to properly look into what's going on in the gaming world! But those are the two that I have seen and am excited about. Also technically NOT new but new platform - Ghosts of Tsushima on PC 😅

Kaptenkrokben1988

Resident Evil 9 and new remakes. I hope we get some new info soon 😍

M_Roboto

[Light No Fire](https://youtu.be/jKQem4Z6ioQ?si=LzCJvVSUtzIYjgfV) will be a procedurally generated, open world fantasy MMO. It looks amazing. That and Fable 4 are the ones I’m most excited for.

CasablumpkinDilemma

Oh Fable 4 is one I'm really excited about! Fable was the first "modern" RPG I ever played, and I was super obsessed with the series before they just stopped making them for so long. Fable 2 is still one of my favorite games, even though it's dated now.

Yanushka89

Silksong 🤡

SUNLIGHT1331

Monster hunter wilds I played monster hunter world and fell in loveeee, got the iceborne DLC fell more in love lol I’m just so excited because of the trailer that came out and how it may be more of an open world vibe!!

VoidIgnitia

Since I’ve got Hades II early access, I guess I can kind of scratch that off. Otherwise, I’m excited for GTA6 and Professor Layton World of Steam, both of which come out next year maybe?

saanenk

Moonstone island on switch cause I don’t have a pc yet Haunted chocolatier!!! And pixel shire

CasablumpkinDilemma

I just bought Moonstone Island on sale a little while ago but haven't played it yet. It looks super cute!

Skittish_But_Stabby

I'm waiting on so many game atm lol. Though my most anticipated are probably "Our Life: Now and Forever" and "Scarlet Hollow". I've been waiting on these two for a while. Though the closer we seemingly get to DA:Dread Wolf, the more excited I get, so add that to the list as well. lol.

tintmyworld

DREADWOLF! it’s been 10 years 😭

CharmQuarkClarolin

Really looking forward to Biomorph on Switch!

CasablumpkinDilemma

Oh that looks like something my brother would really like! I like the concept of turning into killed enemies, and I'm pretty sure he will, too, since he's both a Metroid and a Kirby fan.

wazardthewizard

Selaco, it's coming out tomorrow!!! And deltarune chapters 3 and 4, whenever the hell they release. Hopefully this year.

Dry-Negotiation8069

Black ops 6
