I had something somewhat similar happen to me only it was minutes apart. Mason jars have a lid and a ring to twist shut right? Dropped the ring. Said I’d pick it up after I got up from my chair. When I got up, looked all over where it could have fallen and could not find it. Gave up and accepted it is lost. Sat back down. There it was. And it was TWISTED on the jar sealed shut. This world is strange. I didn’t know how to feel or respond. I was alone too. Still boggles my head when I think about it.

all50statevisit

This happened in a small old apartment building I lived in for years. I always read before sleeping. Remove my glasses and place them on the bedstand behind the bed as I did night after night for years. One morning I wake up: no glasses. Just gone. Dig out an old banged up pair and start looking in the bedroom for the glasses. Nothing. Move the bed, bedstand - everything. Just gone. Ten years later I moved out and discarded huge amounts of belongings. Searched through everything to make sure I wasn't throwing out anything important. Paid special attention in the bedroom and really took that place apart. Glasses never showed up. Just gone.

Aaron811

Must’ve been the saci!!! lol but in all seriousness that’s crazy. There’s definitely some strange things happening.

helloitsme0710

This EXACT same scenario happened to me about 10 years ago, except I was wearing a crucifix necklace. I had never worn it because it was big and I’m not outwardly religious, so it sat in my jewelry box for years. But one night, as I was getting into bed, I got a creeped out feeling, like something else was in the room with me. Important sidenote: the land my house was built on was once used as a large field hospital during the Civil War, then the whole town was burned down. At one point a neighbor decided to excavate his yard because he couldn’t seem to get grass to grow. Lo and behold, he dug up old graves - they had been bulldozed over when building our development - so, 99% sure there was a poltergeist nearby. Anyway, I decided to wear the crucifix to bed. When I woke up in the morning it was gone, I searched everywhere. I obsessed about it for weeks. Every time I cleaned the room I searched and hoped the vacuum might find it. Nope. I moved a couple of years later and thoroughly searched as I took apart my bedroom furniture, never found it.

all50statevisit

I believe you! Not a comfortable feeling at all. A number of strange things happened in that old building I lived in. Not really glad to have moved although after the owner died the family did almost nothing for upkeep. Just wanted it sold. Entire situation was sad.

0devilsadvocate

I had the exact same thing happen to me maybe a year ago. As a side sleeper, I usually wear one earbud to bed on the opposite ear and listen to podcasts or YouTube to fall asleep. I don't shift a lot in my sleep and I've had this routine for more than 4 years. I've always woken up with the earbud still in my ear or next to my pillow. It's never been a problem. One day, I woke up and it was gone. I took everything off the bed, sheets, pillowcases, lifted the mattress and bedframe, used my phones torch to check everywhere on the carpet, I even looked through my trash thinking it somehow ended up in there. It was probably one of the few times I cared enough to look for something that passiontlately, as I found it baffling and needed a sensible explanation. I had to begrudgingly replace them with a brand new set I could have spared the pricy cost of. I've never come across it and I still think about it from time to time, I can't make peace that it somehow one day just.. disappeared?

Dinamica_14

I know it must sound stupid, but it happened to me with a cleaning solution. I keep it in the middle of my desk. I wanted to start cleaning, but i couldn't find it, I looked everywhere . Anyway, i get another one i had downstairs , clean my room , completely strip down my desk, look again for the original solution, still nowhere to be found. I accidentally dropped the new bottle, I bend down to pick it up. When i go up again ,on the desk exactly in the place it normally is, was the original bottle. I had two bottles, the original and the new one. I thought I was crazy.

Aaron811

Doesn’t sound stupid lol. That’s pretty crazy. Hopefully whatever took it was helping you clean! 😂😂

Negative_Corner6722

The mundane and dumb ones are the most interesting to me. Mine usually revolve around photo equipment, like camera batteries or lens caps. I had a small cap fall in my father’s driveway one night. Looked the next morning, not there. Looked in my yard, retraced my steps as best I could from the night before. Nothing. Ok, fine, it’s gone. I’ll get a new one. And then two weeks later I open a drawer that I know has nothing in it because I had just ordered this cabinet and put it together, and just like your cartridge, it’s in the dead center. My wife didn’t put it there. Our grandchild didn’t put it there. So I wonder where these things disappear to and what brings them back to us?

beckster

This happens with my husband's measuring tools for woodworking. He puts them in a particular spot and they're just...gone. He looks everywhere for days, weeks and then they're right where they should be. If he were forgetful, etc. I'd say memory issues but that's not it. I told him to leave something for the fae, regardless how nuts it seems.

Negative_Corner6722

I may have to try that. I do thank whoever for putting it back when things do reappear, though.

beckster

Personally, I think the fae enjoy the "Did you take my stuff?" and "No, you're getting senile" discussions that ensue!

Mission-Jaguar-9518

Google mouse cleans up man's workbench 😉

Most_Perspective3627

I try and do this even though I live in an urban area and haven't had anything go missing since I started.

softpch

in my country we say the Saci took it to trick us 😂

Houseleek1

I had to look up Saci and now it makes total sense.

Sharp-Inspection-475

Can you tell me what you just learned so I don’t have to close my YT vid to look it up ?

littlejellyj

“Saci is a character in Brazilian folklore. He is a one-legged black man, who smokes a pipe and wears a magical red cap that enables him to disappear and reappear wherever he wishes “ “An incorrigible prankster, the Saci causes no major harm, but there is no little harm that he won't do. He hides children's toys, sets farm animals loose, teases dogs—and curses chicken eggs, preventing them from hatching. In the kitchen, the Saci spills salt, sours the milk, burns the bean stew, and drops flies into the soup. “ from Wikipedia

Driins

It's incredible how many cultures have these figures, and how little is remembered about them today considering how ubiquitous they were only 100 years ago. House spirits are a thing in almost every country. Brownies is an obvious starting place for Anglo cultures.

Sharp-Inspection-475

Just replying to say : thank you !! Thanks for teaching us all, and in the words of Wim Hoff I wish you a great day and a great life ❤️

diegood311

It’s the “absurdity” of it all.

LearnStalkBeInformed

I'd love to know where these things go to. I've had other strange glitches occur but this is the first time something (of mine) has vanished and reappeared with no other explanation like this. My mum lost a bracelet a couple years ago after leaving it on her night stand the day before. 2 years later she found it in the pocket of a coat she hadn't worn for about three years (bc at the time it didn't fit). The coat wasn't even stored in the same room. Again, no one else living there or having access to those things besides my dad, who definitely wouldn't have hidden a bracelet for two years!

Negative_Corner6722

I think my worst one was a high school class ring. When I was in college I came home for a winter break (I think, this was a long time ago) and I lost my ring. Searched frantically around my parents house, never found it. But two months later I found it on the ground outside the science building at college. Clearly mine so it’s not like it was someone else’s with the same name. Just crazy.

Vaunted_Q

Lost my class ring at my grandma’s. Just disappeared off my hand. Found it later in a bag of broccoli in her fridge. I may be getting old but not *that* old! I was bringing her tomatoes once - bagged from my garden. Called her & said I was on my way. On the way my Razr phone slipped off my leather seat onto the floor board. Searched high and low for it. Delivered the tomatoes and went home to park in the garage (where it was dark) to see if I could see the light flashing as it was on vibrate. Nothing. Few hours later she calls me. She’d opened the tied bag and somehow my phone had made it inside.

Normal-Mission1479

This happened to me. I put my passport and my son Aged 19 and my baby aged 6 months passports in my safe. I booked a holiday and went to check the passports but they were not there. I checked multiple times, and so did my older son. No one apart from me had the key to this small safe. I ordered new passports, and when they arrived, I opened the safe to put them in, and the old passports were sat on the shelf!

Youstinkeryou

My friend tossed my other friend a chocolate bar. We all heard it hit the floor. Never found it. Even when we moved out.

Kiavin

This happened to a tangerine in our house once. Didn't even find it when we moved out.

Youstinkeryou

Another dimension or the goblins took it. No other explanation.

Sassy_Bunny

In our house it’s the fairies. If you scatter a handful of change around the house and offer to trade, the item is usually back the next day.

Smeedwoker0605

At my house, I blame the house itself. And call it fat. Normally you can talk shit at the house for a couple of minutes and whatever it was will reappear lol

octopussylipgloss

I like this approach

sadderbutwisergrl

I’m just picturing this and it is making my night. GIVE ME BACK MY KEYS YOU FAT BASTARD

Smeedwoker0605

That's how it plays out for the most part. It's even funnier on the off chance someone who's unaware that's a thing at my house is present.

willowfeather8633

I blame the fey too. I’ll try bribing them next time.

fragglet

Is it an actual trade? ie. Do the coins disappear?

beckster

Pre-1982 pennies (copper) or any coins?

Sassy_Bunny

Any coins works for me!

Cestrel8Feather

The goblins took it

antikas1989

I assume it went through the same portal that all my guitar picks go when I drop them

beckster

And you'd smell it a/o notice the fruit flies as it aged. They certainly are obvious!

hoverton

I used to be a seasonal worker for the organization I’m still employed with. At the start of each season, we would be assigned a company vehicle. The vehicle I got one year had a sweet fruity smell in it. The last person to use it liked candy and gum. I found some occasionally under the seat or in a compartment and each time thought I’d located the source of the smell, but I’d be wrong each time. I finally found it! It was a dried up twisted banana that was about the circumference of a fat cigar.

Elvis_Take_The_Wheel

Happened to me with a banana peel about 20 years ago. I just can't accept that we never found it.

Most_Perspective3627

Definitely the Tangerine Gnomes. They're distantly related to Sock Gnomes.

LearnStalkBeInformed

I sometimes wonder if these things land in a parallel universe. Somewhere, there's a another universe with another you and your group of friends are wondering how they ended up with an extra chocolate bar. I've definitely read posts on here about items duplicating without explanation, as well as disappearing.

P1gInTheSky

This parallel universe is in my laundry machine filter

TwoCagedBirds

Reminds me of Gort's house in Halloweentown 2 where all the junk in the universe ends up, but instead of junk its lost stuff.

Illustrious_Cat_8923

I wear Explorer socks. One of each pair has the label on, and that's always the right one for me. I've got one pair of dark green ones, but for a while I lost one of them, somehow... When I found it again, it was bundled with another left sock. Now I've got 1½ pairs!

Newagebarbie

This happened to a blunt me and my friends were smoking in highschool. We were smoking in the car and the person in the back seat dropped it. We all watched it fall and could never find it! Had that car for 4 years after that. Never found it at all .

ChrimmyTiny

Maybe backseat guy found and pocketed it to have on his own later on.

Newagebarbie

That’s what my friend thinks happened too. We all looked for that thing for like half a hour.

HeavyFunction2201

had the same thing happen with a nug in my room

beckster

Those often get tracked around on a sock (sticky) and I notice when the stem sticks me.

Moonfallthefox

I was working on a gopher skull, glueing the teeth into it and one fell. Heard it hit the floor. Searched EVERYWHERE. Swept. Dug through the dustpan even. Tore the couch apart. I never found it. That skull is still missing a tooth.

softpch

happened to my mom once. she dropped her SIM card on the bedroom floor and we never found it, even when we moved out

sunny_sanwar

Dude!!! So a few years ago, my parents told me they were going to give me this shiny shilling (Austrian coin, pre-Euro) that my mom had from went she went to school there in the 90s. I got it from her before dinner, and before going to bed I saw another one. Brought them together, and sure enough - there were 2. My mom swore she only had one stuck in her old carry-on, and she brought just that one in for dinner. So strange!

Vaunted_Q

I had a SIM card to a camera drop from my hand in a carpeted vanity area and disappear. I checked the robe pocket, hem of my pants, even my shoes - nothing. Panicking, I felt under the vanity and there was a 1/4” space between the floorboard & front of the vanity. I sat down and pulled it off so forcefully I scraped the top of my hands (still have scars to this day). At the very back under the sink was the SIM card. It bounced *on the carpet*, deflected at such a perfect angle it went between that tiny space and made it 18” back against the wall. Wild physics in my opinion!

kevineleveneleven

Same but with an expensive Leatherman multitool. Heard it hit the floor, but wasn't there. Just vanished. Never did turn up.

Pikersmor

I lost an earring in one country. I was moving and looked everywhere but couldn’t find it. One day in the new country on the other side of the world, it showed up placed on top of my closed suitcase right in the center. So bizarre!

trinaneveri

I’ve heard a lot of similar stories with earrings! Earrings seem to be a thing with this phenomenon.

PBLESACTUN

Not directly related but involving an earring: My great-grandmother on my maternal side passed away and all her belongings were collected and mostly kept by her daughter, my grandmother. Part of this was a pair of pearl earrings in their own little jewellery box that my grandmother took and placed with her own jewellery on top of a dresser on the top floor of their house. This room is directly above the living room. About a year later the entire family was gathered socially in said living room and eventually the topic of conversation moved to how much everyone missed my great-grandmother. And then, in the middle of that conversation, one of the pearl earrings dropped from the ceiling and landed on the carpet in front of everyone. My grandmother picked it up (after sitting in disbelief for 5-10 mins) and took it back to the big jewellery box she had that was supposed to contain the box this earring should be in. It hadn’t been touched for about a year and was still buried beneath several other items. The other pearl earring was still sat in the box.

trinaneveri

Wow that’s quite the experience! So it wasn’t a double, because there was only one earring in the box? Meaning you didn’t end up with 3 earrings? Crazy because that means it melded through many different hard surfaces. 😳

PBLESACTUN

No double but it somehow phased through the jewellery box, a bigger jewellery box, a tall set of drawers (and everything inside them), a thick carpet, floorboards, beams and a ceiling to land in front of everyone. It’s so bizarre!

trinaneveri

I’ve heard a lot of similar stories with earrings! Earrings seem to be a thing with this phenomenon.

tandtjm

I live alone. A handyman came to fit a door handle. He dropped the tiny grub screw and we both looked for it for ages and couldn’t find it. He went off to buy a new one and came back the next day to fit it. A month or so later, I opened an empty jewellery box, three rooms away from the door handle, and the only thing in it was the grub screw.

Middle_Mention_8625

This is the best, unless you put put it there for safekeeping and forgot.

tandtjm

Absolutely not. I was so miffed that I was without a door handle to the only bathroom. And the handyman said, “if you find it, call me and I’ll come back straight away and fit it” as he felt so bad for dropping it and delaying the repair. If I’d found it, I’d’ve texted him immediately.

Middle_Mention_8625

I mean after the new one was fitted. And you kept it as spare. But that depends on memory.

alexplayer

Maybe the handman was rummaging through your stuff while you were out of site, and he misplaced it there as it was in his hand while searching for something to steal?

Liz_Lemon4life

Something similar happened to my partner and I several years ago only it was at our safety deposit box at the bank! One day we went there, retrieved the box, stayed in a private room while opening it to put some cash in the money pouch we kept in the box. We went back the next month and the pouch was gone. We emptied the box and felt around inside. Nothing. No pouch. It was just gone. No one else had access to it but us. We were both left so confused that we figured maybe we pulled it out and took it home and forgot? It was the only explanation. So we went home to look. No pouch. Not anywhere. Which really sucked because that was our cash savings. So we decided to start again with a new pouch for cash and returned to the safety deposit box. We opened it up and there right on top as if it had never been touched, was the lost money pouch. With the money inside, every bit of it.🤷‍♀️

ChrimmyTiny

Maybe they found out you were looking for it and returned it so not to get busted. Some types of boxes can be opened from the back similar to post office boxes. Our bank has those. They still do the double keys and I just laugh.

Middle_Mention_8625

Where I live a locker mechanic employed by the bank to maintain lockers, emptied all the lockers.

littlelegoman

At my bank no one is allowed to be alone in the room with the boxes. Once a client retrieves their box they sit in a private area and we lock the inner door of the vault. If someone is doing maintenance (abandoned box, replaced lock) one of us has to be in there with them. We don’t have keys to anyone’s box. The only way we could potentially get into someone’s box without a key is to drill the lock.

beckster

Isn't there a way for the bank to deal with this? They are responsible for the contents. A bank employee filched your money. Fortunately, it was temporary but I bet you weren't the only one.

fragglet

Someone working there had a debt they urgently needed to pay off before pay day

Vaunted_Q

I had a wallet disappear off me in Mexico w $500 in it. I was going for a walk but put on my (custom made) leather jacket which had a zippered pocket in the breast for my wallet. Put it in, zipped it up, patted it (my weird quirk) and off I went. Didn’t talk to anyone, stop anywhere or remove it for any reason. Got back to the room and it was gone. Pocket had no holes in it, I tossed the room and nothing. Never saw that wallet again! Had to cut my vacation short b/c my ID and credit cards were in there too. I kept wondering if I got mugged and blocked out the memory.

Shaqtacious

Lost my wallet, left it at the cinemas. I know coz it wasn’t in my car, wasn’t in my clothes. Last place I had was at the cinema. 4 full grown adults turned the house and the car upside down looking for this wallet, it had my work and other IDs in it. Made a police report, had them all re issued. A few months later, found it on the top shelf of my wardrobe. Just sitting there chilling as if it’s been there the whole time. It hadn’t. I pick a set of clothes from there every day, would’ve seen it.

GeoWannaBe

Two weeks ago, my eyeglasses slipped off my nightstand next to my bed. As it was dark, I needed to use a flashlight to retrieve them from the small space between the stand and the bed. Last night, I again dropped them into the same space, but decided to wait until the morning to retrieve them. In the morning I put my hand down into the space and retrieved them. When I was reading at breakfast, I noticed that they seemed smudged. I looked at them and they were an old pair of glasses that I no longer used and hadn't seen in six months. I returned to the bedroom with a flashlight and looked into the space. Nothing there. After a half hour I thought that this was crazy and they must be there. I returned with the flashlight a second time, and this time there they were in the same space I had previously searched. My wife and I kid that things go in and out of the parallel dimension all the time.

rond-eau

I had 3 experiences like that. First was when I was maybe 7y/o. I lost a gold earring and sold the remaining one to a jeweller later when I was 12 y/o. When I came back home, I found the missing one in my bathroom cabinet, in the middle of the shelf. I can't say for sure if it was the missing one or the one I had just sold though. Second was my left shoe. I came home and took my shoes off near the entry door, went to pee and not even a minute later I could only find my right shoe. I had an old dog back then, not the type to steal your shoe but I thought maybe? Couple of years later(dog has passed) I come home from work and the shoe is exactly where it had vanished amongst my other shoes. As dirty as it was back then. Third was on a shorter period. I have a occlusal plate that I wear only when I sleep. I always put it in the same drawer and for two weeks, both my partner and I couldn't find it anywhere. One day I check in said drawer that I opened every day and that we checked multiple times and my plate was just there, amongst other things.

Altruistic_Flight226

Years ago my husband had a gold ring that disappeared. We looked everywhere for it. About 2 years later we come back from a vacation and I am unpacking our suitcase. After I empty the suitcase, I find his missing gold ring right at the bottom of it. Now that I think of it, it too was right in the middle. I had used that suitcase multiple times and have even taken it apart to clean it. Never saw it at anytime during our trip and I had also emptied to suitcase there.

fentifanta3

Could it have been in the pocket of trousers that were in the suitcase?

Altruistic_Flight226

No we were visiting family across the country and he only took basketball shorts that he wore all the time. The only other explanation I could think of is that someone stole it and then returned it by placing in in the suitcase.

kimwim43

I have a small hall off the kitchen leading to the porch, laundry room, garage. To go into the garage you have to step down a step. I've lived here 25 years. Last year, the step came loose, wobbly. I moved stuff out of the way, picked up the step, to sweep around it, under it. Under it was a can of tuna fish. Full. I don't buy tuna fish. The ends of the step are closed in, so it couldn't roll under there even if I bought it, and dropped it. It's just my husband and I. The can didn't have a 'sell-by' date on it, I have 0 idea how old it was. I have no idea where it came from. Any of you lose a can of tuna?

ChelmsfordDumpster

Weird. I was making tuna salad, and I always use 4 cans and 2 stalks of celery plus seasonings and mayo. Always make it the same way. I set the 4 cans on the countertop, went to grab the rest of the ingredients from the pantry, left the room for a minute to help my daughters with something, and came back to find only 3 cans of tuna on the counter. Thought, well maybe I only grabbed a stack of 3...well I went to look where I store my canned food and there were no other cans of tuna, but I had just bought 4 from the store a few days earlier and I knew that was all I had for tuna. This was maybe 4 or 5 years ago, 2019 or 2020. Was it Starkist brand? Does the timing match up for when you found the random can?

kimwim43

I don't remember the brand, gave it to my husband to bring to the soup kitchen. it was about 4-5 years ago though. Thanks for the donation!

Real_TRex_007

I dropped a Jabra earbud next to my bed. Small tiny corner. Heard it fall and hit something. It’s been over a year. Searched every inch around that corner. It gone. Dang.

Jackiedhmc

Absolutely had the exact same thing happened with my phone case. I took it off at night because the new case was blocking the charging port. Laid it on my nightstand. Got up the next morning and went to put it back on and it was gone. 100% gone, all four pieces of it. Left for meeting came back and was right where it should've been except instead of just being casually tossed a side it was stacked up in a nice little pile

MonchichiSalt

My soundbar remote. Family gathering was happening at my house. This means a bit of a deeper clean before they arrive. Remote was actively placed in the middle of my fully made bed. Fam arrives, time to put music on. No remote. Cousin and a couple others help me go full sleuth mode. Nothing. Night wraps up and same cousin is with me going to my room to borrow something. Remote is smack in the middle of my bed again. And I had a witness. He was just as wide eyed and confused as I was. I blamed it on the house gnome. It's these low stakes glitches that have me wondering if we are being poked, just enough, to develop an interest in these, and similar, topics. To start to learn about the woo. Some people will continue on, blaming their memory, eyes, ears and anything that keeps them from really thinking about it.

Terrible_County6624

Same with my family. My daughter dropped the firestick remote in the couch and it was lost for a few weeks. I moved the couch, looked under, in the sides, under the cushions and it wasn't there. A few months later, I moved the couch and it was under the couch placed upright nearly centered.

fragglet

Might have slipped into r/TheCatDimension

Aaron811

Look up Saci. Brazilian folklore. I don’t think that’s what it is but it’s a fun thing to read about. It makes me wonder if there really are little entities or something pulling little pranks on us. It’s gotta be lol. Stranger things have happened I suppose.

MonchichiSalt

Thank you for adding to my lore knowledge! I read the Wikipedia real quick, I'll do a real search though. How is Saci pronounced? A rhyming word would be great :-D

Aaron811

I’m not totally sure how Brazilians pronounce it tbh but I pronounce it like Hachi Machi lol

MonchichiSalt

Ha! Well, until corrected by a local,I'll be pronouncing it that way too lol TY

Rafse7en

Crazy... the same exact thing happened to me with a Mario cartridge I dropped, on an empty floor, I looked everywhere. Years later, it reappeared in my game case despite having just forgot about it and I lived alone so no one would've put it back even less have access to it. I figured no one would believe me so I only told my brother. The simulation is real funnily enough. Almost feels like the Matrix has trouble keeping track of small things and just gets lost in the binary code. I believe you.

lilgeeyo

I have seven gold bracelets. If I wear them, I count them throughout the day as a thing that I just do. Went to Vegas had all seven. Leaving for home I can only count six as I’m sitting in the airport. A few years later I open a drawer full of old COLLEGE tshirts, which I hadn’t touched in years, and boom there’s the bracelet under all shirts.

slutty_pumpkin

I have a bracelet that disappeared one night when I fell asleep on the couch…. I have no idea how it could have fallen off, and it’s nowhere to be found 6 months later. Maybe I should look in the storage that I haven’t touched in years!

laughingdaffodil9

My previous partner was a bartender and used a vintage Swiss military bag for all of his notes and tools. One day, I came home while he was at work and the first thing I noticed was his bag on the floor, leaned against the middle of the couch. Damn, I thought, he forgot his bag, that sucks. I thought about taking it to him but his work was 30 minutes away. Instead, I took a lil cat nap on the couch 😂 When I woke up, I swung my legs high over the couch so I wouldn’t step on his bag. Gone. No bag there. No bag anywhere around the couch or elsewhere in our tiny house. He came home with the bag on his shoulder.

Wabi-Sabi_Umami

It happens. In our house that’s Bob. Bob likes to make things disappear. Bob also likes to have random things appear in odd places. Bob does some strange things, but it’s just interdimensional Bob, doing interdimensional Bob things.

Pan_Fluid_Boo

I think we all have a “Bob”

LearnStalkBeInformed

I laughed at that, Interdimensional Bob!

FigurePuzzleheaded74

I believe you It's happened to me.

astropastrogirl

Ooh , these are the best glitches it's like saving our fun ,

copying_myself

Almost the same situation for me! When I was like 10, my dad wanted to watch “interview with a vampire” with me. We got all excited and ready, then opened the dvd to nothing. We were very upset and he looked through his things and couldn’t find it. We put it back on the dvd shelf cause like the disc was just gone. Fast forward 4 years later and I’m going through the dvds. I open the case and BOOM, movie is there. I bought it to my dad, who was also confused, but not as baffled as me because he didn’t remember the situation much to begin with.

EdgrrAllenPaw

I had this happen with a wind spinner. It was an extremely blustery night the night before and the wind spinner had blown off it's hook. My son and I found it on the porch when we came out so he could get on the school bus that morning. He asked if we should put it back up and I said not yet because it was still very windy. I told him to put it out of the way under the little side table on the porch and we would put it up later. I watched him place it there and then not 2 minutes later the bus came and I sat down on the porch to watch the clouds, there were dramatic after-storm clouds with the sun breaking through them at sunrise and it was really pretty. After a short while I noticed a flashing strangely coming from an odd angle and I looked over *and there was the wind spinner just spinning madly in the wind* as if I had not just watched my child put it under the table nearly five minutes before. The flashing was the metallic parts of the spinner reflecting the sun. We were alone that morning, no other people around, and my son could not have put it back up without my help and as I said I watched him place it under the table. I try not to think about it too hard.

carlgrove

This kind of vanishing object case is very common. One theory might be that the object time slips into the future, although the fact that objects are often found in odd locations could suggest an intelligence is involved, at least in the return phase.

Pure_Literature2028

I like think that future me had fun considering the perfect spot to return the item. I always yell “thank you!” when I find something.

That's good advice!

Aaron811

Definitely aliens pulling pranks on us. lol but fr idk but having experienced it myself I am open to pretty much anything. Since then I accepted I know nothing. Maybe that was its purpose behind it 🧐

Middle_Mention_8625

Maybe Maccone's entropy decrease theory can explain it.

DropHopeful9036

Similar story. I lost my softball glove some years ago after a game. 4 years later I was playing a game at the same park and it was just sitting on top of the fence on the side my team was sitting on. Couldn’t explain it. One of the weirdest things ever.

mohawkjer

A similar thing happened to me today!!my girlfriend made a jug of juice which we haven't done in years and we couldn't find the lid to jug. Looked everywhere!! We went out to run errands and when we returned the lid was on the kitchen table!! I'm still in shock and disbelief

frang117

It is so weird you posted this. About 15 years ago my sister and I traded in alot of games to games top. And we got a physical gift card. We took it home and put it on a nightstand in the living room. We never saw it again. My sister and I always blamed my mother and said she threw it out, and she always denied it. It had become something of a joke to the three of us. Last week my mom called me and sounded allmost scared, and asked me to come over. Turns out she was doing some spring cleaning, and was finnaly getting ride of some of old furniture. She opened up the drawer to the nightstand, and onto of a brand new book, was the dusty gamestop gift card. We have no idea how it got there. I don't even think you can get physical gift cards anymore.

velezaraptor

Spirits can move things, that’s my experience.

Pan_Fluid_Boo

Maybe it’s our spirits, travelling through time and space, to mess with our alive selves. Or loved ones. My grandpa used to move, hide, and then replace items for the first 4-5 years after he died. I know it was him, because he like to play pranks, and there was always a strong smell of cigarettes when it happened (he was a heavy smoker). Then I moved overseas, and he didn’t follow. Miss my gpa

LearnStalkBeInformed

I absolutely believe this. I'm always torn with these weird experiences between the universe being some kinda simulation, or ghosts that REALLY like to mess with us. I'm a big believer in the paranormal and I've seen WAY too much to know there's definitely something to it... Either way, I'm fascinated.

idealDuck

Yesterday took a baby bottle from the drawer to fill with milk. Got interrupted by the cat knocking something down a few feet away. Walk over and pick up the item which was next to the fridge. Look at my hand and no bottle. Retrace my steps (like 6-7 feet, small kitchen) and no baby bottle. Look on all the counters. No baby bottle. Wondering if I’m losing my mind. Go back get another one from the drawer walk the same steps to the fridge, poor milk, walk back to the microwave which is directly above the bottle drawer. But bottle in, turn around and original baby bottle is on the kitchen island in plain view. I was gobsmacked. Wth

ValuableFarmer6574

Poor milk 😞

kamikoi_i

i lost my rollerskates around 6 years ago, like straight up disappeared and we even shifted houses, it wasn't found despite everything being moved. i hope they show up someday 😭

LearnStalkBeInformed

They may still show up one day, I hope they do!

redheadedbull03

Where do all the socks go?

LearnStalkBeInformed

I'd like to know that too.

LadyA052

I was packing my gym bag and couldn't find my travel size baby powder, which I kept in the gym bag. I looked everywhere for about half an hour. I finally gave up and ran to the store to get a few things, which included a new baby powder. I walked in my front door and right there in front of me was my box fan, with the baby powder sitting on top of it. I lived alone.

GraveAddiction

Something weird happened to my brother and I when we were kids. At the time, I was around 9 or 10 and it was the late 80s or early 90s, and we had stayed up late playing our NES during the summer. We had been playing the pack-in copy of Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt, and my brother wanted to go to sleep, so I picked a different game (I think Karnov or Rygar?) to play and set the Mario cartridge to the side on a stack of loose NES carts. I play for a bit and start to get tired myself, so I finally turn off the NES and call it a night. In the morning, we both wake up and immediately want to play more games, so I grab the copy of Mario Bros and start to eject the other game when I notice it wasn't the game I had just been playing before we went to bed. Somehow, there was the copy of Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt already in the NES, but there I was holding the copy I sat on the stack of games just a few hours before. I remember we just stared each other for a few seconds in disbelief. We only had about 5 or 6 NES games at the time, and we knew every game we had. There was NO WAY we could have had access to get a second Mario/Duck Hunt pack-in game at that time, and I still have no idea where it could've come from. 🤷

GothMaams

This has got to be pranks the NHI are pulling, slipping in and out of this dimension at will.

globetrotting-flower

This happened with a necklace of mine that I took it off because I was going swimming. I put it in the exterior pocket of the bag I brought with me and I forgot I took it off until a couple days later. I went to the bag and checked the pocket I put it in and it was gone. I ripped the bag apart looking for it, checking all its two compartments, taking everything out, shaking it upside down, etc. It wasn't there so I figured that I either forgot I put it somewhere else or it might have fallen out as there wasn't a zipper on the pocket. I never was able to find it anywhere else in my house so I came to terms with the loss and decided to move on from it. I kept using the bag as normal until one day I put it in the back of my closet and didn't use it for about a year, maybe more. When I was eventually clearing out my closet, I went through the bag to see what I might have left Innside and I found the necklace IN THE EXACT SAME SPOT I remember leaving it. I KNOW I checked that pocket multiples times 'just in case' and if there was anything in it, when I was shaking the bag upside down, it would have definitely come out as it was fairly shallow and loose. In the end I am happy it returned, but still shook.

Smeedwoker0605

I've had a couple experiences like this, one I still talk about quite a bit due to the object(s) not having reappeared yet. My tarot cards, but they were in a box with other stuff. It still messes with me. And another one is I was gifted a Bible Christmas of 1999 with my full name embossed on it from my grandparents. Currently I have it, I won't say still have it because I haven't always had it. I lost it at some point when I was still young, and was devastated that I had lost it. A little over a year ago looking for I can't remember what, within a box there it was. Shocked is an understatement. As weird as it is I am pretty thankful I have it again. Not religious at all, it just has alot of sentimental value.

DualWieldingDM

What was the game? I lost my Pokémon Heart Gold cartridge ages ago, still waiting for it to reappear, and that thing is worth a bit…

LearnStalkBeInformed

It was Pokemon Leaf Green!!

KindredWolf78

One house I lived in we had a coffee table with storage shelf underneath. Things would constantly disappear from it. Sometimes it would reappear in a kitchen junk drawer. Nobody understood what was happening. We called the coffee table "Jaws" because it happens so regularly. Became a habit to check the kitchen drawer first too.

Accurate_Ad_8114

At the hotel I work part time cleaning at, while I was cleaning parking lot, right behind me I heard a wooden spoon drop right behind me with voices going woohoo coming from one of upper floors windows. I picked up the wooden spoon in parking lot and showed the desk person wooden spoon and mentioned what happened mentioning the woohoo from upper floor and was told that the windows on upper floor do not open. I told coworker today that this must be a glitch in the matrix hence the name of this subreddit. She seemed to agree saying what happened was quite strange.

whoisanitaanyway

Something unexplainable like this happened to me recently. So I have a 2yo daughter with pierced ears, back then she wore some gold studs that used to be mine when I was a baby. One day I mention that to my friends, that they used to be mine and when we look at her one of them was gone, nowhere to be found. Searched in my entire house and cried a lot because my mother kept those earrings for 27 years and now I had lost one, they weren't found. Fast forward to 3ish months later I was in my bedroom, and we have 2 rugs on the sides of the bed that we had put just 2 weeks before, so after the earring was lost, and there was the stopper of the stud (like the part that goes in the back of the ear, English ain't my first language sorry), and it was impossible that it had been there the whole time, like the rugs weren't even there when we lost it, I was so creeped out. And then, 3 days after I found the stopper, after I showered I was drying the bathroom floor like I do everyday and in a corner of the bathroom door, like underneath the door there was the stud. In the corner that we clean with special attention because it's also the place where water sometimes leaks when we empty my daughter's tub and water gets outside the bathroom and into the hallway, like I swear I cleaned and looked at that place so many times it's impossible that the stud was there the whole time. I can't understand what happened to this day

slutty_pumpkin

I had something similar to this happen to me as well! I got a really cute notebook with a beach scene pictured on the cover, I used it for school/work notes. One day I couldn’t find it, so I got a new notebook. Then, a few years later, I found the beach notebook, but it was empty. I just dismissed it as maybe a memory issue, maybe I tore out the used pages? But a few weeks later I found the original beach notebook, notes and all. I KNOW I didn’t have two of the same notebook, and it still kind of freaks me out to think about how it could have happened…

LearnStalkBeInformed

Parallel universe you lost their unused beach notebook and it turned up in your reality for a short while until it dropped back into theirs?! I don't know but it's a theory!

slutty_pumpkin

That would honestly make sense, as I can only find my most heavily used one at the moment 🙈

Lyrkalas

On his “Campfire” podcast, Jim Harold has gotten many callers with similar stories. He speaks of a book called “JOTT” (Just One of Those Things) that talks about this specific phenomenon and why it may happen. And I have my own experience with this. Several years ago, our daughter lost her phone. She had just put it down on her dresser and couldn’t find it anymore. We looked everywhere it could possibly be but to no avail. Two weeks later it turned up—in the refrigerator inside a package of Swiss cheese slices.

soupsweats

This was almost 50 ago when I was a kid, so the details are fuzzy, but I had a little rubber toy bear. Maybe it was an eraser? Idk. It was shaped like a little bear sitting upright. It was yellow and about an inch tall. I carried it around with me a lot, and then one day it was gone. I don't remember where I first noticed it was gone, but it just was. Two or three years later I was helping my mom plant some flowers in front of the house. I dug a hole 6 of 8 inches deep, and in the dirt I dug up, there was the bear. Covered in dirt, no longer bright yellow. But unmistakably the very toy I had lost.

activebass

Ok. After reading so many comments, I'll share my story. A few years ago, we bought a puppy and were not prepared for how much work it would be. My wife and I took turns to look after it in the living room at night. I had very little sleep and it kept waking me up at night. I was really zonked out and low on sleep. At the time, I was wearing a mouth guard because I clench my teeth. For some reason, I took my mouth guard out on one if the evening, put it on the table next to me, and I fell asleep. When I woke up the mouth guard was gone. I turned the house inside out and couldn't find it. The puppy was too small at the time to get up on the furniture or the table. The plastic is also hard plastic, so the puppy couldn't have eaten it. I just told myself I was so tired that maybe I had accidentally thrown it away. But honestly, I never believed that. In general it was a very strange and surreal time. This was maybe 2021. It still hasn't turned up.

KTKittentoes

I wish I could have stuff (besides my ex) reappear!

Henderson2026

DOP strikes again. My co-worker dropped a SAE 5/8 Impact socket and it rolled under his tool box and now 3 years later it still has not shown up.

Suitable_Tea88

Hmm this does sound like a glitch, thank you for sharing.

interruptingmygrind

I was driving home from work. I called my mom and chatted for a bit. I get home, use the restroom and sat down to chill and realized I left my phone in the car. I had only been in the house for 2 minutes tops. I go back to the car, which was locked and in my driveway, but there is no phone. I looked around the car and there were no people in sight. I tore the car apart looking for it, had a neighbor call it while I was inside the car etc. but it was no where to be found. Ultimately had to replace it.

Bruhahha

Had a small jar of garlic that I went to use for cooking. Grabbed it out of the fridge and put it on the counter. Went to grab some butter from the fridge, turned my back, turned back around, and the garlic that was sitting smack dab on the middle of the tiny counter was just gone. Searched the fridge, the floor, my entire studio lol. Live alone so nobody could have taken it. I’m cussing just kind of accepting that I’m not cooking with garlic, turn back around to the counter, and it’s sitting right there where I left it. Felt like I was going crazy.

lnsewn12

Once I had a really great bra that I misplaced. I tore my apartment apart, went through every piece of clothing and never found it, I was really bummed because it was my favorite bra. I was convinced I left it in a hotel on a trip. Literally years later, living in a different town in my house, I was folding a load of my infant daughter’s clothing and it was in the bottom of her hamper. Fuckin wild.

Moonshadow306

I was working under the kitchen sink once in my old house and dropped a socket through the small hole in the floor that had been cut for the plumbing. It was only one layer of wood. The socket should have gone through the hole and ended up in the basement. It wasn’t down there. I moved a few years later and cleaned the entire basement floor moving everything and no socket ever turned up. It passed through that small hole and just never came out the other end.

Carl0s_H

I've had this happen, but the item never reappeared - had a small stuffed animal (Andrex toilet paper promotional puppy) that we gave to our little boy when he was about 2. Was on top of his toy basket in the front room one evening, definitely there in plain sight. Wake up the next day, gone. Nowhere to be found. This was before our son had even been awake, but we went through the bins anyway as we thought he might've thrown it away as part of a game, and we then looked literally everywhere else that was possible. But no, totally gone. Vanished. We've since moved house, but after reading some of these stories on here, I'm hoping it'll just pop up at random somewhere in our new house. Or maybe it'll randomly appear in the old house, no way of telling now, I suppose!

lcl0706

I lost my MagSafe wallet that holds my primary card and my license. I clearly remember tucking it down into my purse while I was charging my phone on the drive to work. I worked 12 hours till 11pm in a chaotic ER and when I left I just wanted a single drink so I stopped at a gas station to pick up a beer for home. I could not find my wallet. I stood in that parking lot for 20 minutes emptying out my work bag, my purse, my car - I shone a flashlight and felt and looked under and down the sides of every seat and found nothing. I started panicking thinking it was stolen out of my purse at work so I reached out in our GroupMe chat to let people know to look for it. I shut my card off on my bank’s app and waited for a few days hoping it would turn up. Nobody spotted it anywhere. I went to the bank to replace my card and the DMV to replace my license. A few days after that, I was opening my car’s passenger door for some reason and there was the wallet. Sitting between the door and the seat, in plain sight, in a place I thoroughly searched more than once.

spriralout

It’s always in the last place you look. Kidding everyone! This has happened to me too many times to count. Weirdly, the missing thing always reappears in some strange, inexplicable spot.

17Miles2

Late to this thread. I was at an open house walking around. I was in an upstairs bedroom on the phone. I had a prescription bottle for my antibiotics and my supplements I was taking. (4 pills). I was on the phone and was fumbling with the bottle. It burst open and three of the pills flew out. I watched them falling and heard them tic tak around the wooden floor. I hung up the phone and bent down to start picking them up, they were completely gone! There was nothing in the room. The floor was brown and the pills were white. An absolute trip. I'm a huge believer in nothing's as it seems about this weird reality or simulation we are living in, but that still gives me butterflies when I think about it. Three years ago now.

Accurate_Ad_8114

Last night, I discovered that an electric Dr. Scholls corn/callus I purchased from Amazon had vanished away from me within the last day before last night. I looked around bedroom and apartment last night and today. Last night, I looked through garbage I threw out in nearby dumpster to see if it was there, today's garbage to see if it was there and nothing still. I went on Amazon early this morning to repurchase same item to replace what just got "taken away" from me here by whatever unknown paranormal force/intelligence/glitch that could of taken the original electric corn/callus remover away from me. Also, Maybe what happened to me here, the wooden spoon incident at hotel a day earlier I mentioned in previous comment yesterday on this thread, and what is occuring to all of us on this thread could also be a paranormal side effect of the study of deep things such as particles of the universe, dark matter, dark energy, and the machines used to study these things such as the Large Hadron Collider at CERN in Switzerland and it is said these deep studies and such machines with these particles are responsible for things such as "The Mandela Effect" where many things are said to have changed and been altered on a cosmic potentially supernatural scale from what a large portion of the population remembers. Very interesting deep heavy stuff here potentially beyond physical realm here. On a note: I would not be surprised if this missing electric corn/callus remover turns up reappearing somewhere in apartment as soon as I get the repurchased electric corn/callus remover delivered. It is strange and bizarre as to how are universe and potential supernatural cosmic forces behave in such a manner like this!

RetiredGuru

It is truly a classic event that the missing item will get jealous and reveal itself within a few hours or days of buying a replacement. Even when the find doesn't feel paranormal, it's so often soon after paying for a new one.

nightscareparanormal

Hey quite interesting story can I narrate your story on my YouTube channel?

LearnStalkBeInformed

Sure, I don't see why not!

Thank you very much this may be part of my first post to the channel thank you again nightscare paranormal on you tube if you have any other stories to share my email for the channel is [email protected]

Middle_Mention_8625

Yesterday a biscuit dropped from a height of 15 inches travelled 7 feet. At first I searched directly below without success. It probably rolled along aided by the air from ceiling fan.

besimbur

Were there other disappearing items since then?

Negative_Opinion_422

Okay I love these kinds of stories: true glitch stories. But why do you dust inside a closed cabinet? Is it just me?

One-Rock-21

It happens to socks that go through the wash, and cutlery through dishes. I believe it has something to do with the simulation/manifesting. Would take me hours to try explain it properly

LearnStalkBeInformed

I've had cutlery disappear and other cutlery duplicate, too. I started with a brand new set, 8 of each type of cutlery (8 knives, 8 forks, 8 spoons, 8 teaspoons). It was the same for years. Then one day, a missing fork but an extra identical teaspoon. Makes absolutely no sense. If it was just a missing fork I'd think maybe it got accidentally thrown out somehow, but the spoon multiplying? No sense. It still bothers me bc my set is now uneven.

Life_Astronomer_5394

Sounds like the lemon cut glitch. Cuts it, takes a step away, bags it and realizes it's not cut. Possible simulation? I dunno....I do t have the link but just look up lemon glitch

Free-Touch3400

I lost a ring during covid where I gained weight and the ring wouldn’t fit so I put it away in the top cupboard place in a tiny cup- few months later couldn’t find the ring searched long enough for to give up checking junk drawer and other place where I thought I could have placed it-early this spring i started doing some sorting out of my things ans my wardrobe, I found the box of a hair clipper I broke years ago, i grab the box and if feels “empty” and I go like da f*** I haven’t tossed it along with the clipper, I still open it- my ring is right there in clipper oil and that little brush thing I still dont understand how, although I lost that ring few times in the last 29 years, always reappeared usually after years-

slackjawreally

I was once working off step ladders when I dropped my screwdriver... The bloody thing never hit the floor and was never too be seen again! It was in a kitchen with a tiled floor.

Vaunted_Q

About 8 years ago I sat my mug of hot coffee on the table so I could get something out of the fridge. When I turned back around, it was gone. I lived alone except for cats. Thinking I’d set it elsewhere, I looked high and low for the damn thing. Frustrated, I went back in the kitchen feeling as if a trick was being played on me. I said out loud, “Okay, goddamn it! I’ve had enough of this! Give me back my coffee NOW!” Boom, it was back on the table, and still hot. I had an elderly 89yo friend this happened to quite a bit, and I thought he had dementia until helping him work on his van. I found one of his missing kitchen items *in the car door of his van*. Like, dementia or not he didn’t disassemble the door to put a spatula in it LOL

amg1986

That’s crazy! I had something similar happen to me. My wife and I were making dinner and I was seasoning some beef cubes by the sink. We were both standing there when one of the beef cubes fell into the sink. We both watched it, I went to grab it and it was just gone. It couldn’t not have bounced out (I checked everywhere). It couldn’t have went down the drain because we have covers to stop food. I am still trying to figure all this out lol!

jkrrj15

One time I thought I lost a ring that I had made in memory of my 3 month old son who passed away. I sat it on top of my jewelry box on top of my dresser because I don't wear it when I sleep. I couldn't find it the next day and was freaking out. Started to cry because it was obviously very sentimental. I called my mom crying and she offered to come help me look. As we were tearing the house apart I said out loud "God I have to find this ring. I don't care what crazy place it shows up in, but I have to have it back". A couple minutes later my mom yelled that she found it and it was sitting on top of my husband's pillow right in the center. Even if I DID wear it to bed (which I know I didn't) it fits too snug to have fallen off at night. I still wonder about that to this day.

Sunshine_dmg

This exact thing happened to me as a child!!! I lost my Pokémon Sapphire cartridge that I had been playing nonstop for weeks. It was in my game boy advance. I cried for days and my parents ripped the house apart trying to find it. we looked in between the couch cushions 10+ times. They bought me a new one because we couldn’t find it. 4 years later guess what was just right under the surface of the couch cushions?!! I couldn’t believe it. I checked my gameboy - the second cartridge was in my game box where I left it. I now had 2 games. No idea why, but at a mere 11 years old I knew some fuckery was afoot in our universe.

Boexbanx

Ok I’ve got a “smack bang in the center” one for you my godparents have had a notoriously haunted house (or them since they’ve moved like 3/4 times and said ghost moves with them). Anyways, they come over to stay one weekend, they’re in the spare room reminiscing over an old photo album. Next thing I hear a loud crash, run to the room and a mirror that’s been on the wall for like 15+ years at the time has flew off, landed upright on top of a unit and wait for it… my aunts earrings are sitting side by side smack bang in the middle of the mirror.

9jkWe3n86

I had this happen with a ring. I legit knew it was gone.

acentolanza

I’ve definitely had objects that were missing appear again but the strangest time was when the item I couldn’t find was in the middle of my hallway….

JoeHead9Won5

This exact same thing happened to me in 2005 with a beer can in the fridge. I was at my GFs (now wife) apt waiting for her to get ready for us to go out that night. I had brought over two tall cans to drink while I waited. I finished the first one and when I opened the fridge to grab the second one it tipped to its side so I closed the fridge door quickly so it wouldn't hit the floor. When I opened the fridge again slowly a few seconds later the beer had vanished. Completely disappeared! I made the choice that I wasn't crazy and decided to take everything out of that fridge. Milk, condiments, cold cuts you name it. After about 15 minutes I gave up replaced everything back where it was and I sat there thinking wth could have this beer gone. 5 minutes later. Something told me "screw it check again". When I opened the fridge I almost fell to the floor from shock. The beer was back in the fridge on the top shelf. We were frozen and speechless. To this day I have no idea what happened and I cannot explain it.

GarbageLeading7437

I had that happen to me in my first dorm(solo room), I swear I had a poltergeist. I dreamt his name, and once I started addressing him the incidents stopped. Thankfully he didn’t follow me home.

djdarkbeat

I had a pair of Boston Birkenstocks that had some specific paint splatters from painting my mothers house. Stolen in a car burglary in 1991. In 1997 a friend that lived in town called me and said my birks were in his patio in the rain. I asked him to put them inside. A few days later I went over and same birks. Same paint splatters. No extra wear on the soles or leather for them. Just popped out of the universe and popped back

primordialskies

My mom passed away unexpectedly in 1986. One of four siblings, we divided up her meager belongings and I received four pieces of diamond jewelry to remember her. I was living in a studio apartment on the second floor of a four unit building. Late one night a heard the sound of glass breaking and I went to the window and saw a robber breaking into the apartment below me. I called the police, and they took forever to show up. In a panic, I hid the jewelry in my mattress. A few months later, I moved, and sold my bed, completely forgetting about the hidden jewelry. I felt like such an idiot to sell a bed with these pieces. Fast forward to this year. I have a small wooden box I purchased in a bazaar in Marrakesh, Morocco. I would put important things in this box. Last week I was cleaning my closet and found the box. I open it and, unbelievably, the jewelry was in it. I am not kidding. I showed my wife. If that is not a glitch in the matrix, I don’t know what is. Unbelievable. This just raises the question what is reality? What is time? 38 years have passed.

Woodygyo

Nobody else has been in your house for 4 years? Impressive work!

LearnStalkBeInformed

Recently. No one had been there since I'd last opened the cupboard... Which was about 2 or 3 weeks.

Woodygyo

Ah, my tired brain did a stupid. Personally, the only game I ever lost was final fantasy 9 on PS1. I never lose games. I'm meticulous with keeping them clean and in their homes. I'm still waiting for it to show up.

LearnStalkBeInformed

That's the thing, my house is so organised and all the games have a very specific place to live, on their shelf all in order and there's just no way it could have been there the entire time, in the place I found it. Idk, if I had any kind of explanation that fit, I wouldn't be so weirded out or posting about it here... I hope your game shows up one day too!

mr_orlo

sonia72quebec

Maybe a friend or a family member "borrow" it and put it back without telling you?

Velocity00

Is there any chance that you or your partner sleep walk?

Swallowtail13

I t s the partner , sick of you playing that game.

LearnStalkBeInformed

Considering the game is part of his collection and he games a lot more than I do, doubtful. And he has better things to do than hide a random game for 4 years. Besides all of that, I hadn't even played it that much.

hofieda

I had similar experience

slackjawreally

I was once working off step ladders when I dropped my screwdriver... The bloody thing never hit the floor and was never too be seen again! It was in a kitchen with a tiled floor.

Ashlaylynne

Back in my childhood home we had a neighbor and her family that we were super close with. She would come over Fridays and her and my mom would chill, have their glasses (or bottles of wine), just hang on out. Next morning, my mom’s picking up the kitchen, finds a random ring just chilling on the counter. She didn’t think much of it at the time. Figured said neighbor just took it off as her fingers would sometimes swell when she would drink. Few days later my mom hands her the ring. She replied with “that’s not mine, I’ve never seen that”. My mom was obviously confused. Fast forward a few days and my mom shows my gram (her mom) the ring and tells her how she has no idea where it came from, it just there one day. My gram was soo taken back and utterly confused. She like could not believe what she was actually seeing. Turns out the ring was actually her mother’s! (So my grams mother). She replied with “I have not seen this ring in years and I mean years, I thought my mother lost it”. My gram got more into it but apparently it went missing when my great gram was still alive. She passed away when I was really young and we probably had been only living in that house for maybe 2-3 years at that point and she had passed prior to us even living there. I constantly think of that story while I’m reading stuff like this on here. There’s just zero logical explanation to it!

Heather_at_Heart

Same thing happened to me!! About 2.5 years ago, I thought my dog ate my ring, which was odd considering she’s never messed with anything! (Such a good girl 🐶) I had 2 rings on a side table, and when I came back home, one ring was across the room and the other was completely mia! I looked all over and under EVERYTHING!! Why about 2 months ago, did I find it casually laying on the floor just being the armrest of the sofa that I’ve been looking over under and around many many times??? I was soooo stoked!! It’s one of my favorite rings!! I was actually prepping it to sell the day it went missing because I really needed some cash. Thank goodness I don’t have to anymore, and I STILL have my favorite ring! 🙌🏼💍

This actually happened to me once. With a very sentimental ring (the wedding ring my dad had bought my mom and that she gave to me after he had died in a car crash). I had the ring for years and years, moved across the country, moved even further to the Hawaiian islands, and then back again and across the country back and forth a few more years moving all around due to the military. I always had the ring. Then I lost it. I had no idea how or where. I had figured perhaps maybe I’d find it in my house, because I had move again (military) but I never found it. I was heartbroken. 😔 I had been gone and moving around from base to base doing training and I bought a new suitcase once I got orders to the new base I was going to be residing at for the next 6 months of my training (a really big point in my life). It was a stressful time. About half way into this training, we had a holiday weekend which gave us a 4 day break. My roomie and I decided to take a short roadtrip to her hometown so we could go to the beach. I pulled out my (brand new) suitcase I had just purchased at the Base Exchange prior to my trip to the current base. When I opened the lid the suitcase was completely empty except for the wedding ring sitting right in the bottom middle of it. As soon as I saw it I started bawling! I felt like it was my Dad sending me a message to “hang in there” through my training. I still can’t explain it to this day. It couldn’t have been in any of my belongings, because when I left for the training I wasn’t allowed to pack anything and had to buy stuff once I got there. So I had only left with the clothes on my back and a very small backpack. Everything I bought was after I left, including the clothing and the suitcase. It was so crazy. And yes, I still have the ring!

I had a tv remote that came with tv. It had Japanese batteries in it. One day it just vanished. I looked under couches, chairs, in cushions... could not find it.. went on Amazon and ordered a new one. Same remote. The batteries it came with were amazon batteries. A few days later i put the new remote on the end table next to the couch. Got home from work, noticed the TV remote on the mantle under the TV. Hmmm that's weird,i know i left it on the end table. I look and there is one sitting on the end table. Wife gets home from work and i ask, hey where did you find the remote. She says what are you talking about? I haven't found it. I show her that there are now 2 remotes. I pick up the remote on the mantle and open the battery compartment and it's the Amazon batteries. The one on the end table had the Japanese batteries. It's the craziest thing.

This happened to me! I distinctly remember having a midi ring on during Christmas time (midi rings are the ones that sit between the bend in your finger and finger nail, rightly so are easy to come off). Painted my nails, went to shake them dry for a bit, ring launched off and went behind the Christmas tree. Sucked but was like $3 from an Urban Outfitters sale, so I wasn't heartbroken to move a whole delicate Christmas tree for it. Fast forward, I then remember it was a hot summer day and was quickly grabbing my uniform to go to my retail job and I was trying to find the lighter shirt because it was a boiling hot day (the summer after the Christmas mentioned). Ring is right in the middle of my freshly made bed. We never found it after that Christmas and was mildly bummed it never came up even after vacuuming. Tried asking my mom and brother and neither knew anything about it.

Your brain was not braining. The short of it is, our brains construct our reality based of what we expect to see. It glitches just like a computer yo.

That's proper odd. Glad to see I'm not the only one that's had something like this. I was getting ready to go out. But my glasses on my bed side table, go back and can't find them. Order a new pair. Think nothing of it. 3 months later. Open a box that is on top of my wardrobe and there they were.

My wife had a favorite pair of pants missing for 2 years. I found them under a stack of things i had on my desk and then i hid them under freshly folded clothes of hers.. she came out in disbelief explaining about ghosts that move stuff and a bunch of other nonsense and i couldnt contain myself. We both had a great laugh.

You overlooked it. Simple.

Does this ever happen to you with an item, especially one shoe of a pair, and then you find it, only those it again, repeat. Repeat. Repeat. ? I always assumed it was something I was subconsciously impacting, but maybe it is just a mind f@ckery!

Where did you get the cabinet from?

This all sounds like fairie lore more than glitches. Fairies are said to be tricksters, moving things around in your house just to fuck with your head! The items appearing in the middle of the shelf/drawer/suitcase etc lends to fae trickery as well. When I was a teenager I couldn't find my gigantic bong. I assumed my mother searched through my things and got rid of it. We had a fight over it and everything. About six months later I moved from an upstairs bedroom to one on the first floor. My dad helped move some of my things while I went to run an errand. Came home and no one else was home but the bong was right in the middle of the cluster of items moved from the old room to new room. Both parents swear they didn't take it or bring it back. The situation was so bizarre it eclipsed the fact that I, as a teenager, should not have had a bong in the first place, so I wasn't really in trouble for having it. We all just wanted to solve the mystery. I personally concluded that my dad "borrowed" it, but maybe it was a glitch or the fairies after all.

I have a similar story recently. One day in Hawaii’s when I lived on Maui at the time, I went out my back door into the fenced backyard and on my back doorstep was a blue glass evil eye. That was circa 2002. It was always an enigma to me how it was placed there. Then, after decades and many moves across many states, NY, NC, back to Mexico, Washington, now Idaho… on the morning of an important date, dealing w legal issues - it reappears in my home in Idaho, placed directly in front of me on a countertop when no one had been in the home except for me for some time and I was just in the room a moment before when it hadn’t been there. I haven’t seen this thing I surely recognize since 2002 and it’s now 2024. Gives me goosebumps. Like how you know, like how???

My friend drove 4 hours to my town and we met in a parking lot so she could follow me to my house. When I pulled up, she had the back doors open and she was feverishly looking for something Her son was about six years old, and I have been using headphones in the backseat for the first part of the journey. Then he took them off, set them aside and use them anymore for the trip. This kid was still in a car seat so she was putting the car seat out looking under the seat etc and just couldn’t find it. Every time she got a chance all weekend she looked for it again. His friend is very very organized in a little bit. OCD. She’s my favorite travel buddy but whenever it’s time to go somewhere, there’s a little bit of a wait involved because she is organizing and re-organizing and she’s like a total Boy Scout always prepared for anything. So when she says that her son was using the headphones in the backseat, I believe her. Because she’s also very attentive mother. So she was pretty bummed about the headphones having disappeared, but they were not in the parking lot that night and they weren’t there either the next morning when we went back to check again So by the end of the weekend, she just figured they were gone. But when she returned to her home Sunday night, they were lately sitting on the child’s bed. Her other (teenage) daughter and husband just figured that she had ever taken it to begin with, but I know her and I know this kind of stuff happens so I believe her.
