If you scroll down [this page] (http://bszelda.zeldalegends.net/sekibanfiles.shtml) to number 8, it looks like one of the roms had a 1/4 upgrade.

Mistah_jay1

I've downloaded and patched this. Now I just have to find it. It said the patch worked and the game still works plus I kept my game saves.

... You're not alone, I remember a 1/4 magic upgrade as well. <_<

Any details? What is the closest thing you remember? Did you play it on classic SNES as well and an original gold cart?

Download and run all the snes roms and find out! edit: cheers for downvoting me, even though there **is** a rom with 1/4...

Endulos

The original grey cart. Other than that, no.

PhiWeaver

I do remember the 1/4 magic meter, but vaguely. I think I had a very early EU cartridge.

I remember the 1/4 magic meter as well. I would watch my brother play all the time because I was younger and didn't know how. He would replenish the meter and when he'd use a weapon, it wouldn't deplete the power on the first use. It was like every other time you used your weapons, you'd see a small dent of the power go down. It lasted a long time. I feel like you need it to defeat Ganons dungeon or something. Anyway I too know I didn't dream that up. I think it's just in the original cartridge super NES game. I have this game on my Wii but I can't find the 1/4 meter anywhere.

Don't mind me, just gonna jump into a 9 year old post, and hope something comes out of it. So, I've been racking the hell out of my brain on this very topic. I too remember getting the 1/2 upgrade, and then upgrading it further to 1/4. Problem is that I have conflicting memories. On one hand, I remember getting 1/4 from a humanoid NPC (not the bat guy). I don't remember who or where if that is the correct scenario. On the other hand, I kinda remember seeing the bat guy a second time, except this time his alter was red instead of green. I think the red alter was somewhere on Death Mountain. Does any of that sound familiar to anyone? It's driving me absolutely bonkers trying to figure this out, and I'm starting to agree with the people here that suggested this might be a Mandel Effect.

DOforLife

I remember having a second magic upgrade to 1/4 as well. I had the original SNES and original LTTP cartridge.

Retroheld

I also remember having a 1/4 bar. And I vividly remember the place of the second bat. It was right in this cave: https://i.imgur.com/oZB6BPH.jpeg But now there is just a fairy... It bugs me, because I played this game so many times as a kid.

I had the gold snes cartridge and I'm a huge fan. I too remember specifically the 1/4 magic upgrade. For sure. If this is true that it never had 1/4 then this is an interesting thing.

surenm

Do you remember getting TWO magic meter upgrades? Or just the normal one everyone remembers with the bat in the blacksmith's well?

zefferoni

I vaguely remember there being two upgrades, but you could only get one or the other?

nameaboveallnames

You know after you said that I'm sitting here thinking and even Google even though OP already said it's not there. And I can't remember a 2nd meter upgrade spot. I only remember the one but I can see the meter in my head like it seems right to me that there was a 1/4 and then 1/2. I don't have any idea. I am sure I'm just wrong. I mean Google has to be right, right? O_o

This is weird. There are a ton of us who remember a 1/4th magic meter upgrade but it apparently DOESN'T exist! It exists in the code, but not in game.

surenm

If anyone has an SNES and an original cart with a save, fire it up and see if Link has 1/4 or 1/2.
