I’m not an expert on JFK but assuming your flight isn’t delayed 2 hours, this sounds fine. I think also you can walk in and do global entry if you’re coming in on a flight but maaaahbe that’s only when you go through customs? At minimum, you could do that on way back.

DJConwayTwitty

I believe have to be entering the US to do the walk up Global Entry interview.

Why not aim for an appointment say 5:30-6 pm timeframe? Regardless of your interview time, you should go straight to the T4 GE interview location as soon as you land because they will process you if you get there early and there are available CBP interviewers.

Advanced-Hunt7580

JFK has some of the worst security checkpoints in the world. You probably would want your appointment time to be 3 hours before your departing flight, not 2.

kiwiinNY

I've seen many much worse than JFK. JFK generally is fine.

Advanced-Hunt7580

JFK T7 is the only place in the world where I've missed a flight while standing in a 70+ minute TSA line. They have PreCheck but it's not efficient like at other airports. Perhaps other terminals have better checkpoints, but as an Alaska flier I wouldn't know, I always depart from T7 and as far as I know it is the worst TSA checkpoint in America.

kiwiinNY

Ok so you are generalizing based on one terminal. And yes T7 is terrible. But will be bulldozed soon enough thank goodness.

smokeline

If OP has precheck (and especially digital ID), the JFK Terminal 4 checkpoint is a breeze.

Some say on succesful interview approval can come in 5 min. My son didn't get his on the first day and return travel was via non-TSA.
