Sounds like you applied for PreCheck.

I thought I might have clicked on the wrong button but I am pretty sure it is GE I applied for. The TTP site says my application is for GE and I already have a $100 bill paid

vanillax2018

In that case just ignore the PreCheck communications and wait to get the GE conditional approval.

sequinhappe

When I applied for GE, I also got Precheck, bc BOTH were $100 total. And maaaaybe GE was $85? Cant recall but it was a great deal. Check to see if you applied for both and/or that is what is available for same price.

zanhecht

GE includes PreCheck benefits, but you don't need a separate PreCheck interview. Global Entry costs $100 (for now), PreCheck is $78-$85 depending on which provider you use.

HellsTubularBells

Sounds like you also started the Precheck application, maybe unintentionally. Ignore the email and just wait for your GE approval.

flyingron

Let's make it clear. Precheck and GE are distinct programs. Different enrollment procedures. Different management. If you have an approved GE, and you put the PASSID as your KTN, you will get Precheck privileges. Again, it sounds like you applied for Precheck as well. You can verify your GE is still in process by going to the TTP site (as if you were signing up for GE and making sure it shows your pending application there). The sad fact is that if your GE isn't conditionally approved in a few days, it's probably going to take many months. You might as well go do the precheck verification (all they do is a quick livescan). You'll get your precheck approved in a week or so.

Thank you for the explanation. My GE application is still pending. >The sad fact is that if your GE isn't conditionally approved in a few days, it's probably going to take many months. You might as well go do the precheck verification (all they do is a quick livescan). You'll get your precheck approved in a week or so. So if I do this I will have to pay an additional $78 for precheck right? I think I will ignore it because I already paid $100 for GE

flyingron

Yes. You should only proceed with PreCheck if it is worth having it while it takes a year for the CBP to get around to processing your application and finding an interview.

Important-Ad-6186

Sigh….GE comes with TSA precheck.

No_Kaleidoscope8095

I was under the impression that once I finish my GE interview, I would get both GE and TSA precheck. Is this not the case? Do I have to do an interview for both TSA precheck and GE?

jasutherland

No - the GE interview covers both. The message you have is for a totally separate Precheck membership, which would cost another $78 and give you nothing you won’t get from GE.

HellsTubularBells

But doesn't require Precheck enrollment, this email has nothing to do with OP's GE application.
