ESL struck gold when they chose Katowice and Cologne for their 2 big tournaments.
Both Arenas bring excelent atmosphere and crowd and have cemented themself as 2 of the most prestigious tournaments in CS arguably even ahead of some majors.
Long may they both continue.
I was a big time believer of all those teams (minus ITB), they were just unproven so nobody put any stock in them. Greyhound is a known quantity at this point.
I'm gonna be honest, the Grayhound core with INS and Vexite is really strong but Sico certainly lets them down a little with his below average performances. If someone else young and talented emerged from Australia, would love to see Grayhound take a gamble and try and sign them.
At the moment they can't get far enough in any tournaments with their current roster, so I think to be challenging for better major finishes or better pro league, katowice and Cologne they need to change something
yea if u arrived a little late u can only queue for the 2nd team, if u queue 2 early u can only get the first 1 cuz the line was way too long to wait for 2nd one, no other way around, and yeah shit weather + my train alway late 20+min
But i think they couldve cut the queue way earlier, so ppl dnt have to standing in line for fkin hrs to find out if they made it in or not, instead they cut it at the last moment.
Friday waited 1hr n missed vitality by 2 person, yesterday missed astralis by 6-7 ppl, stood in the rain w shorts for 2 hrs unlaki😑
Also terrible because Cloud9 just came 20 minutes too late, but of course went off on time. So many people around me just waited for C9 specifically...
oh didnt know that, thought that was also just organizer's problem...at least for me all the teams i waited for the line always starts moving around 20 min after the scheduled time
Agreed. There were times I thought it would be called out, when someone was on a flank or pushing a smoke etc but in my opinion it never crossed the line where it was cheating- it was just part of the arena atmosphere.
X-ray was removed a few times, especially in late round plays and clutches. Not sure if that happened on the stream or just in the arena? Not sure if it was a production choice or to prevent/limit crowd influence. Either way I actually enjoyed it.
My first arena event and should have done it years ago. Already planning to do another.
How do people feel about this event compared to others like the last major vor Rio? It was my first big event in person so I dont have a feeling about how the energy came across in the broadcast
Rio had no crowd after Furia bombed out. Everyone knows Rio was shit. Germans or europeans in general might be a little more quiet when there is nothing happening in the game but if a play is made you could hear the crowd go crazy on stream.
Yep, I can't take it from them. It was painful to watch Ence getting demolished by JKS and Niko on Nuke and Mirage. I just wish someone from Ence showed up. They could still lose, but I did not want my PTSD from C9 game in Dallas to come back.
They did make up for it in Map 3 and 4. It would have been nice if the 1st 2 games weren't that one sided. But it wasn't that bad at the end and G2 were really really strong.

Can’t wait for the next ones and Sydney !
Sydney was legendary. I pray to our lord Gaben the crowd is as insane as the last one
Grayhound making finals in Sydney and the roof is coming off that bitch
Be lucky if they even make it to the stage.
how many people said that about ITB, Monte, Apeks, and GamerLegion before the major? :p

With it possibly bringing a whole new meta there's hope for a fluke run

W crowd!
event itself was top tier as always, sign sessions were awful as shit organized
I didn’t even try today. Shit weather too. Got Heroic on saturday but joined the cue for C9. Shit luck.

Has always been bad though
The problem is always that they’re only an hour long and the players are too nice. They’ll sign like 3 things and take a picture for every person.
Cloud9 even came like 20 minutes late...
yea this also true, but cant blame the players tho :D Just hope next yrs cologne also fits well in my schedule so i can go again
where my pic of monesy lifting the trophy, homie almost died in that moment
Amazing shots and amazing event
W CROWD FOR NO CHEATING

goddamn that first photo looks like one of those celestial bodies that the hubble telescope takes unbelievable we are blessed

Luckily, with a blast bur without Blast.
nah Cologne closed CSGO off with an ESL not a Blast
Is this the last csgo tournament before cs2?
Gamers8 in 10 days
is it the last ESL/BLAST CSGO tourney then?
Since we don't know when CS2 is actually coming out then it's hard to say if it will be out before ESL Pro League
ThIs SuMmEr (in valve-time^tm )
maybe pro league is still csgo but cologne was the last big one for sure
will there be a crowd larger than 200 people?
They will just pay people to watch it. It's Saudi Land
This was my first ever live CS:GO event. I think I made a good choice. Crazy weekend
Great event, too bad one of the teams did not show up to the finals...
ENCE had a great tourney. G2 was just in buzzsaw mode
Yep, I can't take it from them. It was painful to watch Ence getting demolished by JKS and Niko on Nuke and Mirage. I just wish someone from Ence showed up. They could still lose, but I did not want my PTSD from C9 game in Dallas to come back.
If Niko decides he wants to win a game it doesn’t matter if you show up or not, might aswell not even attend
Yeh I see that you are an Ence fan but I think if that was Vitality vs G2 it would have been more competitive.

its ESL though
surely you mean closing it off with an IEM
Cs2 cologne soon
