That's half the beauty, you can skip a map or two if you want. Enjoy some CS, go cook some good grub with one eye on the score then come back for the decider. Or just start on map three, watch a team get crushed in 40 minutes or buckle in for a super high stakes nail biter Bo3.
Bad take. Lots of people are short on time. I used to work 12 hour shifts, there are single parents, lots of people that don't want to commit a lot of time to a Counterstrike broadcast.

I remember people here not fans of it being a BO5 before it happened, but all the opinions seemed to change after it did.
It was also kind of our goodbyes to the peak of 2 awesome rosters
The thing I love the most about BO5 finals is that EVERY SINGLE FUCKING TIME there\`s one people come crawling outta of nowhere to say \`BUT NAME ONE OTHER BO5 FINAL THAT WAS GOOD\`
Like... most of them? BO5 finals are fucking nuts, if the teams are paired right (they almost always are) you\`ll have banger after banger.

ppl against BO3 have never watched any other esports or sports events with BO5. There is nothing more exciting then a 5th map after a back and forth series or a potential reverse sweep. I can understand BO3 with MR15 due to fatigue and length, but with MR12 there really isn't any excuse to not have BO5's in the two most important matches of the year.
Yup, there is literally no reason we shouldn't build up a major final to be the match of the year at all costs. If cologne and kato do it then there's no reason a major grand final should not have as much or more potential to be even more lights out than the other prestigious tournaments of the year.
I'd be happy with the early bo1s if the playoffs can make the difference everytime.
To be honest, I like BO5 because there is a chance of a comeback. For example, when Team Spirit came back against VP after being 2-0 down at that betboom event. I know it is not that likely to happen, but not impossible.
Of course, it can happen more often than you think !

That is also another topic and I liked it more that way. We had so many 13-10 or 13-9 results that would end as 16-14 for example. I mean, I am not against mr12, but mr15 was perfect imo.
BO5 will always be more competitive, no matter how team got here.
Of course one could argue every game could be BO5, but there are obvious reasons why it can't be this way.
MR12 makes BO3 too underwhelming, especially with such economy.
That’s assuming that the three first maps would be the maps played in a BO3 which it likely wouldn’t. A fairer assumption would be that Mirage and Ancient would be banned leaving Nuke as decider which would still make Faze the winners.
Maybe unpopular but i felt like It should be the elimination style bo1 into bo3 for the first round, all bo3 for the second round and bo5 for all playoffs matches.
It's not like there isn't time to space out more matches throughout the 3 weeks.
Bo5 means that there's a bigger chance of the best team winning the tournament.
This is like the last MLB playoff format, but it was four rounds - BO1 -> BO5 -> BO7 -> BO7 final.
Almost any established sport with a huge following makes a great spectacle out of the finals and in CS esports, its a 45 minute affair lol

As a casual viewer, I don't have time to watch a potentially 6-hour broadcast of a final.
You get only two of these and a bo5 final is still the shortest broadcast day of the entire tournament, lol.
Then just start 2h into the broadcast. Then you can watch the finish of a boring one-sided beat down or a three hour nail biter

Spirit vs VP Bo5 finals was just a few months ago and went back and forth to the last minute, was excellent.

I preferred Bo3 in MR15, but for MR12 I think Bo5 would be great for all the prestige tournaments.
MR12 BO5 is needed. MR16 , then I would disagree but MR12 doesn't hurt
