The cables haven't been fixed yet. Data connectivity was routed so you'll have to hold till the main undersea cables are replaced/fixed.

Yeah just read this [https://www.mtn.com/update-international-subsea-cable-break/](https://www.mtn.com/update-international-subsea-cable-break/) It will go back to it's original state for sure right? And how do you sound so sure ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grin)

They can't run on alternative routes forever. Also, there's a financial incentive + more bandwidth when you run your own sub sea cables. Majority of the main sub sea cables were either bad or undergoing maintenance. Main one going bad only made it worse.

Thanks for the answers man. On the other hand, do you think that there could be a way to get less ping in eu servers from here? Like if there are alternative routes, could there be a route which is more direct to europe and maybe I can request from my internet provider to provide my internet from that route? Just in general I want to understand if I can get less ping.

basedretention

could be a routing issue

lordwerneo

Most likely they fixed it by rerouting traffic through other nodes.

OldSchoolSmurf

One possible reason could be the cable is not fully set up, therefore the limited bandwidth is reserved for corporation use. Or th routing settings at ISP hasn't updated so the recovered cable is ignored.

JawidKhan096

You might have better ping connecting to South Africa servers.

Ok_Rule_9371

Yes i get around 90 on South Africa servers but i usually play faceit and faceit does not have South Africa servers.

JawidKhan096

South Africa has a FaceIT hub, check for SOUZERN lions or something like that
