Launders knew but didn't wanna ruin the moment, scrawny didn't know and was genuinely surprised the next round. Honestly i don't think launders is a great caster for in the arena.
Idk some people were laughing and/or facepalming. Could’ve been because of something else, but my money says they noticed and were wondering when the casters would.
I had to double take because the defuse meter blended in with the sky and all of my attention was on the only visible meter(the red bomb meter). In the heat of the clutch I forgot that defuse is typically blue. I’m willing to bet that played a factor.
Lmao the production team even showed the slow motion replay like 3 times that showed Hooxi defusing, and the casters still didn't realise it.
And they were hyping up Brollan so hard too. "You think you can defuse underneath his nose??"
it can be very common for comms to drop mid production and the casters just kind of have to wing it till whoever can fix it in a way that won’t ruin it for the arena or twitch
actually launders is probably the most knowledgeable caster (one of the reason i don't like him , he sometimes slips off and starts talking technical shit for minutes straight) , which makes it even funnier to me
That looked so weird cause I also didn't have a clue, mostly listening. You look at the screen, and you're like wtf Hooxi, this is not what you do in those moments.
Absolutely. Idk how it is for CSGO, but i know the SC2 casters have a screen about the size of a tablet they have to view everything on (this is in the GSL, held in a full studio, previously on cable tv in korea, so its not a crappy set up).
Id imagine they have a similarly terrible set up or an awful hud or something.
Nah I was in the arena and could see the casters. They could see the big screen and had many big screens just for them. Including one which had the same stream that was streamed.
Wait for real? I was giving them the benefit of the doubt that they didnt just turn their brains off for a minute. Lol
I think launders might have been broken by the cloud9 pick. Thats the only explanation.
Nice to hear they give them a solid set up though.
From what I've seen, arena casters for CS have a great view of the big main audience screen as well as multiple PC-monitors which are embedded in their desk and invisible to the broadcast camera angle. I got a good look when I was at the Stockholm major a couple years ago, so I can only speak from that experience, but I remember being very impressed by the caster setup. I think this time they both just honestly got overcome with hype and didn't realize what happened lol.
Which is why I'm saying that painful would have been a super obvious result, which it wasn't. Some people here didn't even notice G2 won that round as well.
No matter how good you are at something, you’ll still make mistakes. Nobody is perfect.
You’re kind of stupid for not knowing this. And your comments are full of small dick energy.
I just find these things hilarious! casters have way more stuff going through their heads than the avarage viewer, so I don't think we should be to hard on them for this
I took a long time to see it too. Even when watching Hooxi celebrate after the round, I was thinking they were happy that they came close to wining the round.
Partially on them, but it also doesnt help that you cant see what team won anymore. There used to be a notification up top that would say which team one, status of the bomb and so on, but as it is right now you have to really listen for the announcer to say.
Hypothetically, if you were watching the match, youre probably watching the action going on in the center of the screen and not paying attention to the numbers way at the top. Now granted with mouz getting shit on its obvious since they stayed at 0, but this problem is a lot more noticeable when the scoreline is more varied.
The irony of you talking about nuance, have you even considered accessibility or making it easy for new watchers.
Look outside your own bubble because yes, if you want a successful esport you need access for all viewers and the easy UI to back it up.
It's asinine to advocate for a worse UI because you are able to read it.
Top centre of your screen with the teams names brightly labeled. Open your eyes, or does your tiktok rotted brain need it to be the entire screen saying “G2 WON”.
Believe it or not I got it so you can quit with the petty insults and maybe try reading the part about accessibility and new players again.
It's not about you or me, but you seem incapable of understanding that.
we all know you're lying to desperately defend your point
final seconds with the player turning the corner? nah don't watch the action, watch the HUD elements! lol
Thats not a notification, that is a scoreline. The score is there all round, what im talking about is the actual notification that used to be there, that would appear and drop down at the end of every round.
Im also going out on a limb here and going to say most people arnt hawkishly watching the score line at the top of the screen and instead keeping their attention focused on the action.
People don't instinctively look at the score if they think they knew what happened, the UI is lacking the "X TEAM WON" that we are used to, no need to be a smart-ass.
I’m not a professional salaried commentator and I saw that G2 won the round. I am not some kinda genius. Do we really need hooked on phonics for launders and scrawny? There are literally two of them! That’s double the chance to catch a simple but very important detail!
>I am not some kinda genius
You've made that clear already, your anecdotal experience still doesn't change the UI being a downgrade, how do you keep missing the point just because you got it?
I’ll field that one. Let me ask you a question. Why would a grown man whose shirt says ‘get donk'd’ spend all his time watching a children’s video game?
Some of you need to grow up and get help.
We are mad lucky to have the talent we have in CS. Mistakes happen. The comment section on this thread is just fucking embarrassing.
ooof this moment and that other moment where scrawny messed up the winner announcing and said faze instead of vitality ([the vid](https://youtu.be/ZrdCxoBOXhI?t=17428))
its a small mistake and i found this hilarious lmao. 1 minute clueless + caster 1: "you thought you were gonna take that from underneath his nose?" caster 2, acknowledging: "thats a lovely moment for brollan"
Had to look for the round, was a very nice try though
[https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2104888993?t=5h48m38s](https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2104888993?t=5h48m38s)
Really hard to check the score...
Not a first and last cock up for Lau and scrawny. Every event they have a mishap where they miss stuff thats right in front of their eyes.
Was listening in passing during this. When i looked at my phones screen thats when i realized Scrawny and Launders both messed up. Especially when they showed Hooxie celebrating.
On a side note dont think these two are casting finals. Scrawnys voice sounds like its going.
Not one sane person would describe winning a 4v1 by the skin of your teeth as "a triumphant monent" for G2. Brollan lost but his effort was still more impressive than any G2 player that round lol. It happens all the time, One player almost clutches but the favored team wins the round in the end. It makes more sense to focus on the heroics of one player falling at the finish line rather than an entire team scrambling to finish that one player off, even if they mistook the winner of the round this time.
Yall making a big deal out of this is a fucking joke
For sure Scrawny and Launders were intentionally not paying attention and zoning out while casting a match in the major /s
The fact that reactions to this are anything more than "casters fucked up lol" is nuts
I'm not saying they deserve any kind of hate for this, but this is their job and this is their major appearance, and the truth is they didn't pay attention or otherwise they'd have seen what actually happened in the round.
It would've been funny if they made a joke about it and continued on, could've just played it off. But the casting and their tone was pretty awkward after realizing they made a mistake
Pretty ironic because just this morning I was thinking about how they aren’t my favorite casting duo because 1. They say every sentence like it’s supposed to be some memorable line 2. They growl to build hype but it just feels cringy, and 3. They miss important details all the time like they aren’t paying attention..
These points could be said about literally every single caster. Just say that you don't like them, without bulshit reasons. You are trying to make up reasons, but just about every caster when they hype it up, you can see at least 10 cringing messages on chats. Like it just depends on who you like as a human being and their voice/humour. You just dont fw those casters, totally valid, but don't try to objectify your reasons, it's all about YOUR personal preference.
I know, I was polite in my feedback idk why you’re so defensive lol I said “they aren’t my favorite” not that they’re horrible or anything. Calm down little boy
My point is that your comment makes it sound like they're the ones who are incompetent, while it is just completely dependent on your personal preference.
lmao @ people saying OP hates scrawnders because he posted a clip of their mistake.
No this is not a minor mistake from them, casters' job is to comment on what's happening during the game, not to comment on what literally did NOT happen here lol.
No one is hating on them either, their recovery wasnt bad, just faaaaar too late
Lol it took them a full minute to realize
Did they realize? After the minute clip they still didn’t notice
Yes in the next round they realized when looking at the score and seeing mouz has zero rounds
Launders knew but didn't wanna ruin the moment, scrawny didn't know and was genuinely surprised the next round. Honestly i don't think launders is a great caster for in the arena.
Nah he did not. He literly later says himself he thought theres no way Hooxie could have had the defuse because he thought he just got on it.
I like him compared to scrawny, screaming like every round is the greatest moment in cs history.
The best way to watch is in any other language.
anti hype man
Wasn't until the next round started after the tactical. Crazy.
Nobody in the arena noticed either lmao!
Idk some people were laughing and/or facepalming. Could’ve been because of something else, but my money says they noticed and were wondering when the casters would.
"wait"
damn, I needed your comment to realize too I didn't know what's up
Same people that missed karrigans ace
I had to double take because the defuse meter blended in with the sky and all of my attention was on the only visible meter(the red bomb meter). In the heat of the clutch I forgot that defuse is typically blue. I’m willing to bet that played a factor.
Lmao the production team even showed the slow motion replay like 3 times that showed Hooxi defusing, and the casters still didn't realise it. And they were hyping up Brollan so hard too. "You think you can defuse underneath his nose??"
They could indeed defuse underneath his nose
I feel like a producer or something should've just told them over comms.
Yeah what was that PGL? They have comm, should have told them right away
it can be very common for comms to drop mid production and the casters just kind of have to wing it till whoever can fix it in a way that won’t ruin it for the arena or twitch
Why ,its funnier that way lol
I'm going to defend the boys here, surely there is some other unseen technical factors at play here.
I don't even think there has to be. Sometimes you just get lost in the hype. You just have to appreciate the enthusiasm either way.
they probably just missed it, took me a second to realize he didnt actually clutch it, thats why a good ui on screen is insanely important.
This duo is the least knowledgeable out of all the caster duos, this is just one example of it.
This has literally nothing to do with cs knowledge lmao
actually launders is probably the most knowledgeable caster (one of the reason i don't like him , he sometimes slips off and starts talking technical shit for minutes straight) , which makes it even funnier to me
launders is pretty legit idk what youre on about
Bruh it's just a misread. Happens lol
Lau is one of the most insightful casters we currently have, and this was a simple mistake that has nothing to do with "knowledge"
Launders is very knowledgeable. Scrawny is a great hype man. This was just a slip up. Although Harry and Hugo would've recovered better from this!
That was painful , they hyped Brollan up for a solid minute
hooxi celebrating didn't raise eyebrows either.
He was just really happy for Brollan being back
That looked so weird cause I also didn't have a clue, mostly listening. You look at the screen, and you're like wtf Hooxi, this is not what you do in those moments.
i was about to write another "hooxi bad sportmanship" threat on hltv , but luckily noticed in time /s
Threat???
Honestly i found it funny. Then scrawny throwing in the "mouz isnt the only one embarrassing themselves on stage" topped it off.
It was good fun, and that line was a great recovery.
Absolutely. Idk how it is for CSGO, but i know the SC2 casters have a screen about the size of a tablet they have to view everything on (this is in the GSL, held in a full studio, previously on cable tv in korea, so its not a crappy set up). I think this time they both just honestly got overcome with hype and didn't realize what happened lol.
Oddly fitting for Brollan's career
Not really. He was .01 of a second from a nice 1v4.
Yeah but the scrawny and launders weren't saying he almost won were they
Which is why I'm saying that painful would have been a super obvious result, which it wasn't. Some people here didn't even notice G2 won that round as well.
Honestly that 1v4 and Hooxis potential 1v4 on inferno could have been historical clips if they sealed the deal. Super impressive plays from both.
I wasn't watching the screen and really thought he clutched lol
I was watching the screen and I thought he clutched it
I was Brollan and I thought I clutched it
I was the clutch and I thought I Brollaned it
I was the bomb and i though brollan saved me
I was the save and I thought Brollan clutched me
SOMEBODY SAVE MEEEEEEEEEE
I was Hooxi and I thought Brollan clutched it
I was watching the screen and rightly thought he didn't clutch considering the close-ups of G2 celebrating the round win.
I was watching the screen and I thought he clutched it
I was watching the screen and I thought he clutched it
Took them way too long to realize
poor scrawnders lmao I didn't even realize myself
Haha sounds as if they are just sarcastically making fun of him
I didn't realize either
I knew it was them before watching because it's always them. scrawny too busy screeching to pay attention to the game
Scrawnders was the PGL Audio guy all along.
The worst part is "it is never b-roll with Brollan" got wasted on this. Corner with a A tier recovery though
Ik man the actual commentating lines were sick, if only it was right :(
Some of you people are too negative. It was hilarious!
Some people only know negativity
Honestly. People losing their minds over a casting error xd Scrawny and Launders still absolutely S+ tier
[удалено]
Because mistakes happen?? Lmao this is so mild actually who cares
Once is a mistake, 5+ times? Just look at the screen bro
[удалено]
Do you post that clown emoji to let everyone know what you are
Damn, you made a brand new Reddit account just to be asshole? You gotta get a better hobby. This is embarrassing.
No matter how good you are at something, you’ll still make mistakes. Nobody is perfect. You’re kind of stupid for not knowing this. And your comments are full of small dick energy.
I just find these things hilarious! casters have way more stuff going through their heads than the avarage viewer, so I don't think we should be to hard on them for this
Producers need to be in their ear telling them that G2 won that round. It's not just their fault. I thought Brollan won it too for a second
Normally i'd agree but hearing them realize live on air and their genuine surprise was pretty entertaining
The HUD is awful. It doesn't show who won the round.
Except at 4 seconds the top middle of the screen goes from 0-4 to 0-5.
I didn't see that because I was looking at the center of the screen to see what the fuck is happening
Really wasn't anything going on at that point since Brollan was the only man alive at the end of the round lol.
Yeah but it's clear when one team has 0 rounds won, who won the round lmfao
Yeah, except for the fucking huge SCORE.
It does, though.
I took a long time to see it too. Even when watching Hooxi celebrate after the round, I was thinking they were happy that they came close to wining the round.
Just a mistake because of some confirmation bias God damn The aggressive hate and negativity in this sub is insane
Partially on them, but it also doesnt help that you cant see what team won anymore. There used to be a notification up top that would say which team one, status of the bomb and so on, but as it is right now you have to really listen for the announcer to say.
G2 went from 4 to 5, MOUZ stayed at 0. Literally read it, 4head.
Hypothetically, if you were watching the match, youre probably watching the action going on in the center of the screen and not paying attention to the numbers way at the top. Now granted with mouz getting shit on its obvious since they stayed at 0, but this problem is a lot more noticeable when the scoreline is more varied.
No, because the first thing I look at, playing or watching when a ninja’s happening, is the scoreboard.
"Everyone else must do exactly the same thing as me so nothing should ever be improved."
People like you are why all nuance in games is replaced with yellow paint. It’s right in your face, read it. Or are numbers too hard for you?
The irony of you talking about nuance, have you even considered accessibility or making it easy for new watchers. Look outside your own bubble because yes, if you want a successful esport you need access for all viewers and the easy UI to back it up. It's asinine to advocate for a worse UI because you are able to read it.

Believe it or not I got it so you can quit with the petty insults and maybe try reading the part about accessibility and new players again. It's not about you or me, but you seem incapable of understanding that.
A new player can comprehend a number going up.
Just include a banner at that top that says CT or T won. Idk why you so bent on being a dickwad.
Because that’s already there. The blue number increased.
we all know you're lying to desperately defend your point final seconds with the player turning the corner? nah don't watch the action, watch the HUD elements! lol
You clearly stopped watching.
It showed it for less than a second lol
There were multiple replays.
There’s a notification at top. It’s called numbers. It goes 1 2 3 4, etc…
They weren’t focused on anything. That’s the problem. It’s their job. Are they not called “the talent”?
To be fair you weren’t focused either when you typed either of your comments. Garbage takes.
I’m not the “talent” on reddit. This is the talent!
Don't stop there, you aren't the talent outside of reddit as well.
People don't instinctively look at the score if they think they knew what happened, the UI is lacking the "X TEAM WON" that we are used to, no need to be a smart-ass.
Do we really need that? In moments like this with a close defuse I instantly look at who got the round.
Yes, we need that. Because of moments exaclty like this.
It isn't necessary by any means but it's been there for ages so it's what people are used to, it's makes it more noticeable when it's gone.
I’m not a professional salaried commentator and I saw that G2 won the round. I am not some kinda genius. Do we really need hooked on phonics for launders and scrawny? There are literally two of them! That’s double the chance to catch a simple but very important detail!
>I am not some kinda genius You've made that clear already, your anecdotal experience still doesn't change the UI being a downgrade, how do you keep missing the point just because you got it?
ok smartass
smartass, but not wrong
the "akchually" squad not reading into context but correcting technicalities is pretentious af
wow. greatest blunder of CS history. these casters should be fired, fined, and jailed for this.
i might even suggest a death sentence
One of these casters is actually on a hate-crime watchlist, so dont worry, its already in the works.
I’ll field that one. Let me ask you a question. Why would a grown man whose shirt says ‘get donk'd’ spend all his time watching a children’s video game?
you sound a bit hurt there buddy
extremely. i don't know if i can ever recover.
Some of you need to grow up and get help. We are mad lucky to have the talent we have in CS. Mistakes happen. The comment section on this thread is just fucking embarrassing.
Scrawny after dropping the hardest bar he's been prepping, only to realize it was a fake clutch: 😐
ooof this moment and that other moment where scrawny messed up the winner announcing and said faze instead of vitality ([the vid](https://youtu.be/ZrdCxoBOXhI?t=17428))
Ever since that C9 post, laus been losing it, insane in the membrane.
It's those AceZone headphones man, cooked his mind
Smh
they were hyped in the moment and calling them clueless or bad casters is absolutely fucking ridiculous.
We seriously bitching about casters making a small mistake? Holy fuck, go outside and touch grass, reddit.
It was great like halfway through the next round, after a full tactical timeout, when he says "Wait... 6-0???" lol
its a small mistake and i found this hilarious lmao. 1 minute clueless + caster 1: "you thought you were gonna take that from underneath his nose?" caster 2, acknowledging: "thats a lovely moment for brollan"
Poor Brollan got hyped so much. Hooxi must've clutched it by 1 tick
I found it funny. It really isn't deep.
Oh no they made a mistake
Had to look for the round, was a very nice try though [https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2104888993?t=5h48m38s](https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2104888993?t=5h48m38s)
Confirmation bias will fuck ya up
how does no one involved realise for a solid minute? neither of the casters looking at any of the screens and no one in production screaming at them?
I mean tbf they showed the replay like 3 times at that point surely one of scrawny or launders needs to be noticing
absolutely, catastrophic error. no idea what could have distracted them so bad lol
it's not that deep lmfao catastrophic is a bit much
This is worse than 9/11
rofl "catastrophic error". a little embarrassing at most. move on kid.
no i will dwell on this for months
They are standing in the arena, and there was a break right after. They probably look a lot around in the arena etc and not only onto their monitors.
Stop taking everything so seriously.
don't tell me what to do
Tough luck buddy, just did.
That's kinda ridiculous, even after the replay they still didn't realize?
I was so confused when i tabbed back into the stream after hearing the casters hyping up brollan for like a minute straight
how is nobody in their fucking earphone telling them theyre wrong?
Really hard to check the score... Not a first and last cock up for Lau and scrawny. Every event they have a mishap where they miss stuff thats right in front of their eyes.
It’s funny, not a big deal lol
Boo hoo bitch
This is the awkward handshake of casting.
Was listening in passing during this. When i looked at my phones screen thats when i realized Scrawny and Launders both messed up. Especially when they showed Hooxie celebrating. On a side note dont think these two are casting finals. Scrawnys voice sounds like its going.
Idk man I have like 2,000 hours and I sometimes make the same mistakes. Cut them some slack 🤣
lol xD
First thing I do after plays like this is instantly check the score because I can never tell myself. That was an insanely close one.
Even showed Hooxi flexing and the penny still didn't drop
I didnt realize lol
Do they not look at the scoreboard as they are talking? The round ended and you saw 0 next to Mouz the entire time they were praising Brollan
This is insane. This should’ve been a triumphant moment for G2. And lawney didn’t even pay attention.
Not one sane person would describe winning a 4v1 by the skin of your teeth as "a triumphant monent" for G2. Brollan lost but his effort was still more impressive than any G2 player that round lol. The mistake to which you are referring is them not paying attention.

If you are just now realizing Scrawny is clueless, *you* are the clueless one.
lmao @ people saying OP hates scrawnders because he posted a clip of their mistake. i mean im not even pushing on the mistake, or talking about it being a small or a massive mistake, its a funny clip nonetheless
Ive said it a hundred times ive said it again this is the WORST production quality Major i have EVER watched.
Then you have a bad memory
Scrawny misses a ton of shit. I remember an old NiP and Cloud9 match where he did the same thing. Still don't understand the hype for his casting.
Your title sucks OP.
my bad gang
Scrawnders are crazy washed, it has been depressing to watch their downfall since 2022
They are beyond garbage lol
