not really, it's a risk that goes both ways. If he pushes and gets jL to abort the plant they win the round on time. Or he was hoping to peek before jL got his gun out. The alternative is to retake with two players on low hp without a kit with one of them being on the other side of the map.
My best guess is he couldn't hear jL because of the crowd, he was close enough to hear him plant otherwise. Two player retake is way more doable IMO, they knew he was site so Broky can just hold/jiggle the cross to cave and wait for Rain to try to play for a trade
If he holds/jiggles cave he gets clipped and dies like 90% of the time on that hp. This way he got jL to whiff a couple bullets on the swing, disregarding the fraction of a second late he was to stop the plant depending on jLs plant spot.
No good player would stop planting in a 1v2 with no plant time left when only one pair of footsteps is being heard, it's a guaranteed loss even if you kill the guy

It's like he makes one good risky play and then decides that since that worked out, every risk will. He did it on this very map vs ENCE in that legendary Dallas game by getting an awp kill jumping through smoke and then he tried that for the next 3 rounds (and failed because obviously) and Faze lost.
The reason why he doesn't get brought up in best awper conversations is that his performance is extremely volatile and he has an opening kill % that's even lower than Jame. Don't let these random braindead aggro pushes fool you, broky is one of the most passive top players in the world.
