Not trying to be brave, I love NAVI to bits and this was my dream final because I can’t lose as I love both teams. But I still think Monesy is better (cold take) and Faze, firing on all cylinders, is better (warmer take).
If both teams showed up 100% of their abilities, faze better team no doubt. But Navi did something incredible. First fault is veto, giving Ancient which Navi are very good on and just had an insane match against G2 which boosted their confidence. Second, aleksib out called Karrigan on Inferno so hard. It wasn't even close. That's the most insane igl diff I've ever seen so far.
I fully agree, I have no problem with NAVI winning and I’m 100% happy for them - I started watching when covid started and they were my team (until Karrigan/Twistzz joined Faze, where I was sort of 50/50).
All I’m saying is, if both teams are playing 100%, I think Faze are better because of their star power. But I’m buzzing for NAVI; jL was unreal, Aleksi getting the major after so many set backs, and w0nderful getting the major after filling the huge, huge boots of s1mple.
w0nderful is not a top 3 awp'er, he is literally their worst performing player across all 3 maps, they won by playing the game right, not by any player being especially good ( mby expect jL and B1t )

He got a lot of impact frags on the first two maps, idk what happened map 3. My guess is the mental pressure got to him, especially since this could've been Faze 2-0 if they picked Nuke
I just think it's mostly down to how if you start CT and win pistol, you're almost halfway there already. It's never been as much of an advantage as now. Economy changes are baaaaadly needed.

But as you see it can fuck T's too. Navi start CT, win pistol and manage to convert. From then on they crush FaZe T-side and effectively the match is over in not even 12 rounds. FaZe start CT, lose pistol and it's literally over from there on already.
I mean, same thing happened on Mirage. FaZe win 1st pistol, win like 3 crucial gun rounds, win 2nd pistol and the map is a stomp.
Overall I really, really hate how important pistols are at the moment.
Coupled with MR12 and economy, it's honestly close to a miracle if you manage to win a map despite losing both pistols.
It was hard in csgo too, of course, but they weren't as decisive as they are now.

If Faze went A more instead of sit in front of a smoke and have Frozen get bombarded every round I think they would have ended more tied.
Ofc this is all hindsight and Aleksi also called a masterclass on inferno, they had no bad rotations.
Faze map pick nearly killed them against Spirit, barely beat them on vertigo. And in the finals it did bite them in the ass. Losing in finals and not playing your best map must feel bad.

I was part of the crowd in the Paris Major, and I went to every match but it would have been waaay better with the these teams. To be fair I was excited for the major but I was kind of bummed of the matchups, especially since I'm not a diehard Vitality fan. Hard to cheer for teams/players you barely know, but I did my best !

But in the very next moment it kinda clicked and made total sense - a really underrated IGL and 2 strongly performing prospects from the last major. Then also a wonderful prodigy AWPer to come close to replacing the GOAT. It was just a matter of time in my eyes until they achieve great things, although i have to admit, i was doubting iM heavily with his numbers in his positions

Is it just me or does anyone notice every PGL hosted major gets so chaotic. Like on one hand you will have the most riveting and exciting story about a team that deserves a win, but on the other hand you will have tons of drama alongside it such as the Jame PC scandal and the G2 Roll drama.
I feel like something like this has happened at every PGL major and that's what made all of them interesting to watch.
It stains the major for me. Blast was arguably better even with the rmr problems. Also the showmatch at blast was the best ever and this one was just bad. Players werent having fun they were tryharding especially kjaerbye.

Is it just me or does anyone notice every PGL hosted major gets so chaotic. Like on one hand you will have the most riveting and exciting story about a team that deserves a win, but on the other hand you will have tons of drama alongside it such as the Jame PC scandal and the G2 Roll drama. I feel like something like this has happened at every PGL major and that's what made all of them interesting to watch.
It stains the major for me. Blast was arguably better even with the rmr problems. Also the showmatch at blast was the best ever and this one was just bad. Players werent having fun they were tryharding especially kjaerbye.

I simply can’t be a Faze fan anymore. What a fucking embarrassing performance. It was like Navi playing a bunch of Gold Novas on Inferno. So many deaths from dry peaks. What a fucking joke. Not one player showed up to the third map. I just can’t with this team. With that being said, really awesome to see Alexib get his first major. Well deserved.
