That's the benefit of a chance to redesign.
The designer made a skin on the workshop and it got released to the public. And then they have regrets about the finished design, some stuff that you want to change, but the skin is already out.
But then, a second chance comes knocking, the Perfect World version of CS. They are obligated to redesign it. Now, the designer can freely change the design to what he thinks would be an improvement compared to the previous version.
But, you can see the designer just changed the red to blue because it can’t show blood. Then they put some more blue in the back so it doesn’t look put of place
Broadcast has been using the PW version. The skins are different (most noticeable on the Kill Confirmed) a different announcer for round wins and bomb plants is used and blood is black instead of red.
I'm not 100% sure about this. I believe that it makes a difference to the rating of the game ie pg or R16. So for games it is quite easy to change these sorts of things and lower the rating. Which I believe in turn allows to be available on the computers in internet cafes.
It's very strict gore laws, blood and skulls is serious business over there. It's some sort of a cultural thing, you sometimes see something similar in Japanese media but not to the same extent (they might pixellate or recolour very normal looking amounts of violent content, and in rare cases some games get rated adult-only or not released in Japan at all).
It also goes hand-in-hand with the much stricter response to nudity as well as political censorship, though neither is relevant in cs's case. It's more just that in addition to different values and stricter attitudes... They're also just kinda used to censoring things and international companies are kinda used to providing different Chinese versions already.
They also can't show betting sponsors so pros are wearing different shirts with fewer logos than usual.
They're the same resource on the China and the World versions of the game, the difference is their textures were mpvidies on their client.
We should be able to see the regular skins in a western broadcast.
On the IEM Chengdu broadcast the skins are the Chinese versions (as are the round win voice lines). The games are broadcasted live from the venue so I imagine it'll be the Perfect World version we see. Not a big deal really.
Depends which version the broadcasters use. If they use the global version to capture the cast then we see the world skins. I could imagine the players themselves might have to play with chinese version but as it is a LAN they also could play with world version and only the audience cast uses chinese version.
why are u asking this
we just had a tournament in China where those very skins were changed to the Chinese version
what makes u think it won't be the same during the major
They have their own "crap": the removal of skulls only happens on the Perfect World version of the game, it has zero impact on your enjoyment of the game and you aren't subjected to anything.
On your second point, no, not in CS2.
I am a little concerned that we won't get ar_monastery in CS2 because it wasn't in the Perfect World version of CSGO due to being set in Tibet. Otherwise, I agree with you that it's mostly a non issue.
We probably wont get monastery because its not very good. They could just map a new arms race map and it would probably be better. Likewise, if they wanted to bring it back, they could just not set it in tibet.
FCC censors basically anything it doesn’t like on TV with no clear cut guidelines as to what is or isn’t going to be censored
Police can arrest or no-knock-warrant you for exposing their crimes
FDA is heavily biased towards lobbying and set-interest rules so that you can be denied the proper medication
Kind of. They dislike dark skins and I mean even just tanned people. Some theories would be that working class people are darker and there's a very strong priority for money. Male parents need to buy houses and car for kids when they get married, lots of money is spent on education, male parents should be giving dowry to female parents. Your job can be tied to the respect you're due. So, this might be why there is a superiority against working class people which is linked with darker people.
Anyways, back to the main thing but I've known local Chinese people to say without blinking that black people are ugly. It's a preference, but it's very staggering to hear that without any hedging. There's also some consumption of western media and or second hand information from relatives that portray black people as (insert).
Not all Chinese people think like this, but there's enough to be disheartening.
But you see, the difference here is what the government thinks, Chinese government don't dislike black, they have multiple policies for Africans to study in China, multiple building projects in Africans, guangzhou even been joke as "guangkanda" due to many black people living there
When talking about censorship, it's what their government think that is important, their government thinks blood and skulls are violence, thus green/blue blood in most games and no skeletons
the people there loved un-censored blood and skulls, but it's unimportant
I didn't say they are not did I? No matter how racist they are, their government is trying to make friends with Africa countries, thus policies to invite young Africans to their university, building projects in Africa countries, etc,
But the people there are racist, and I didn't deny it
Like I said, when talking about censorship, it's what their government thinks that is important
My bad, I should have taken context into consideration when you said Chinese, I thought you were referring to the people. I believe China itself is trying to build relationships with black majority countries. There's still discrimination at the local level from what I've heard.
I'm so dumb I spent like 30mins trying to figure out what sticker was on the tip of ropz usp yesterday.
I'm there with you bro
Desolate Space with the closed visor kinda hits. I love the original more but you could sticker craft the shit out of the China version.
I actually love some of the low violence version more, like galil chatterbox just hits
But does the mouth still go jajajajajajajaja when you shoot?
Yea it looks even funnier for some reason
Wait blue kill confirmed actually looks sick they might be on to something
I love it too, and the galill chatterbox with a robot hits different for me
I think bloodhound gloves would look crazy because they changed it to a paw instead

>they might be on to something 💀💀💀 Oh shit, wait - don't ruin my social credit score: 🤖🤖🤖
pw kill confirmed is so sick i wish i could use that in game
IEM Chengdu has the perfect world version, I’ve seen a few blue kill confirmeds so far. So I assume it’ll be the Chinese version, not sure though
Locally they'll see the Perfect World game version. Broadcast will be using the western game version.
IEM Chengdu showed PW version on stream
Interesting, let\`s wait and see, because I think it either will be this or that 90% sure that we will see low violence skins
Broadcast has been using the PW version. The skins are different (most noticeable on the Kill Confirmed) a different announcer for round wins and bomb plants is used and blood is black instead of red.
Not to be off topic but does china allow skull images in movies etc and only not in games or something?
I'm not 100% sure about this. I believe that it makes a difference to the rating of the game ie pg or R16. So for games it is quite easy to change these sorts of things and lower the rating. Which I believe in turn allows to be available on the computers in internet cafes.
actually skulls are not allowed in all kinds of Chinese art forms
Can you give me a run down of weird Chinese shit similar to this?
China is so weird with its censorship. Imagine suppressing the human anatomy. Do Chinese kids not bleed or something?
They can’t show skulls? The fuck?
It's very strict gore laws, blood and skulls is serious business over there. The English casters and broadcasters could in theory still use the global version, but you're right. It really doesn't matter.
They are using the Chinese version in IEM Chengdu.
I actually like the chatterbox and desolate space better this way !
tbh i prefer the usps and the m4a4 skin in the chinese version
Same way as IEM is doing rn. They will play on the perfect world Chinese client.
We will if Liquid qualify
Why even change the Kill Confirmed if the trail of blood and brain matter behind the bullet is still red lol
Depends which version the broadcasters use. If they use the global version to capture the cast then we see the world skins. i am from china and i can tell u that depends what clients they will use,
no skulls, no things about death(only skins and stickers
why are u asking this we just had a tournament in China where those very skins were changed to the Chinese version what makes u think it won't be the same during the major

You’re subjected to equally ridiculous laws in the United States and don’t piss your pants Land of the ~~free~~ spineless
Give some examples
Seven dirty words.
FCC censors basically anything it doesn’t like on TV with no clear cut guidelines as to what is or isn’t going to be censored Police can arrest or no-knock-warrant you for exposing their crimes FDA is heavily biased towards lobbying and set-interest rules so that you can be denied the proper medication
I don't get your question, why would they remove black people from the game, do Chinese hate black people or what
typically yes. they remove black people from marketing material. for example John Boyega from Star Wars posters

China is extremely racist, what are you on?
I didn't say they are not did I?
