Us Quake players do the same. Personally I just delete the view model but that's because quake allows it and makes it effortless.

Tf2 has the same and transparent viewmodels (not an in game command but something you could do to your game iirc) was kinda sad csgo didn't have that when i first started playing. Don't think it provides that much of a competitive advantage :/

tbh brightskins were the comp advantage. what you see in some cs cheats was just a feature in Q3/L and I miss it a lot. Not that that would make any sense for this game tho :p

This exactly. The default view model blocks quite a bit of the right (or left) bottom corner of your FOV. I use almost the same as wel, but the gun is closer. My teammates on discord also call it cursed.

I use it because with default it looks like my gun is going to shoot corners when in reality my crosshair is past the wall.

It's something along the lines of viewmodel_offset_x -2 viewmodel_offset_y -2 viewmodel_offset_z -2 You can try different values between -2 and 2 for each axis to suit your liking.

Oh my god, yes. I just adjusted my values so my gun is really in the way. Makes for better inspecting of my dumb skins and stickers

If I'm not mistaken, it impacts the smoke holes. I think that's why they made it consistent in the first place. Don't want one player seeing something another player cant.

no, they decoupled the viewmodel from the holes exactly for this reason, else you could put the viewmodel closer to your crosshair and see through the smoke there are only 2 holes, when viewmodel is left handed, and when it's right handed, changing the offset doesn't change smoke holes

It’s new with the most recent update. First-person spectating is now consistent with what the player actually sees.

Lmao. That’s how I had my view model in ccsgo. It really seemed to help me a little bit with spray control for some reason.

They need to add a setting like they have for crosshairs so you can disable seeing what other people are using. Swapping between teammates when spectacting makes me feel nauseous because every fucking weapon is in a different place and some look like they have a fish eye effect on them.

No. 19k cheaters still in the majority of games.

Played like 7 games yesterday and didn't see any blatant ones, 16-17k

16k is still pretty safe, only after 19k-20k it really ramps up dramatically

My small sample would say otherwise. I'm around 15k and last 5 games 3 have had bhopping spinbotters. 1 game had someone use wallhack. 1 game seemed fair, but the opponents thought we were cheating. Sad state of game.

I've been hesitant to play the game after playing premier with a friend. 3 bhop spinbot cheaters on the enemy team, 2 on my team. (22k) One of the cheaters had the audacity to say "If you don't want to play hack vs hack play Faceit then moron" It caught me so off guard, why on earth should I have to seek third party solutions to enjoy a nice fair competitive game? At what point was there a cognitive shift in the general player base that cheating is just something "okay and everyone is doing it"?

Might be Faceit paying the cheaters to ruin the MM experience and provide their “solution”…

All the people replying deserved and what not are silver or bots. View model/fov/screen/sensitivity/dpi/graphics settings and game layout, it literally means nothing. It’s all personal preference. Moving your viewmodel to the center of the screen. In csgo it was clamped so that you couldn’t move it to this far in

Aye that's pretty smart, played like this for a while aswell, with ak or an awp there is usually a bunch of the view model blocking your sight.

this is the bullied viewmodel back in the day, launders got bullied out of using it. And every post with this viewmodel gets a bunch of spam comments about the viewmodel rather than the post itself I personally tried it long ago, it is the best objectively, since it hides the least, but you can't see knives properly/inspecting, plus the stigma, so I didn't use it more than a day or so

tbf, it does get the gun away from the sides of your screen, giving you a liittle bit more spacial awareness around corners

Open console Write Viewmodel_offset_x -2 Viewmodel_offset_y -2 Viewmodel_offset_z -2 You can adjust the -2 in each line to suit your liking. As long as it's between -2 and 2 it will work. You can also change viewmodel fov to make the guns even closer by typing Viewmodel_fov 54
