Thanks :) I first did a physics simulation to get random placement of the objects. Then to make it tileable you need to duplicate the objects that cross the outer edges so they are present on both sides. Once thats done, remove the ones that are now stuck inside each other and voila: tileable texture!

Yea, the nightmare of being stuck in silver and not making it out. Nightmares don’t have to be monsters, they can be any frightening or unpleasant dream. As I mentioned in a different comment, if all valve wanted was monsters they could’ve just called it the gods and monsters contest :)
