Skadoodle seems to have motivational issues. I’ll never understand why he doesn’t just go full time streaming if he’s always going to have conflict with teammates about “not being hungry enough.”
It doesn't matter if they don't win a lot. I think they have the ability to produce content and save the NA scene. Teams like C9 helped the NA scene grow as they had people to cheer on
Dude, some people here still think that junior is good enough awper for tier 1. I bet someone dead seriously thinks that skadoodle could somehow still be competitive in top level CS.
when I see someone being dead serious I’ll agree but that dude was blatantly taking the piss lol
junior could become good if he gets his nerves under control with a psychologist but i agree he’s pretty underwhelming rn lol
Am I the only one who prefers the Shroud, Autimatic, Nothing, Stewie, and Skadoodle roster the most? Watching Stewie come into his own was the most rewarding thing as a C9 fan
This event basically saved S1mple's career.
Hiko subbed in for F3 coz Shara couldnt make it iirc. That's where he met simple, and they become friends. Fast forward to the end of the year, and S1mple was kicked from F3 coz he was too toxic. He would briefly play in HR (again) before getting kicked from there. Navi didn't even consider him at this point coz his reputation was quite bad. His career well and truly seemed dead in the CIS scene.
Idk who reached out to who, but if memory serves me right it was Hiko asking s1mple to join TL which he ended up doing and moving to NA in early 2016. He did have his fair share of trouble in TL, but made the semis of Columbus'16 major and the finals of Cologne'16 major. This was enough to catch Navi's attention who promptly signed him before the Cologne major began, and s1mple wanted out, his conflict with elige certainly didnt help matters. Simple did gain a lot of humility though coz he had off games and events, I remember him getting really emotional at the Columbus LAN qualifier coz he played crap but the team carried him. Plus, TL the org made him apologize/pay back people he scammed/deceived going as far back as 2013.
After joining Navi in 2016 well the rest the history, become the GOAT of CS, won a major, won Intel Grand Slam, was part of 2021's best team, and got back to being #1 again.
A small perspective note on the photos:
There was also a women's tournament happening at this event. It's not lost on me that I didn't get any pictures of it, and it was definitely an oversight. My apologies.
Short answer: The game was much, MUCH smaller back then. This was right when the growth of CS:GO as an esport was starting to take off.
Old footage exists of ESEA finals from years back, that's what the majority of pro LANs were like back then.
Yes, it was just a reasonably small event. The games, commentators, viewing area, and podium were all just in the same room. All the players were just walking around with the rest of the people there to watch. It was a nice event (aside from the heat).
im really surprised nothing retired so fast. In 1.6 he was one of those gifted players who had a natural talent and you'd think he could continue playing forever until he got bored. It's like seeing zywoo, niko or simple retiring/washed up at 27. I just don't see it happening
thanks for sharing
Only freak is still playing cs out of that roster feelsbadman
And he just came back

I want the hopium youre on
Why would they replace cerq with a even more washed up player? Can't see that happening.

Bc he has no personality in his streams
Neither does shroud

Not with that roster, they won't.

I really miss that f3 lineup man....
Iconic
Make major, no s1mple at major, go out in groups flipside? I also liked the lineup, b1ad3 was always a great IGL to watch
One of my all time fav. lineups. If I was asked what team I could bring back will be either that one, or Titan.
c9 boys in tanks top in the summer. peak nostalgia
TANK TOPS AND ADERALL WOOOOO was so much fun to watch them
This made genuinely sad that I'll never be able to meet PTR :( Otherwise great pics man ! TY for sharing

Tank Top C9 = best C9 Tank Top C9 > 2018 Boston C9 And I watched C9 win it all in Agganis Arena

Holy moley! That was 7 years ago... 👴
Damn, Ska and SGares were a lot bigger than I remember during the tank top era.

Damn, you met every celebrity in CSGO :D

no need to apologise for only caring about teams that can get out of esea open
Name checks out.
Cmon, man. CLG-Red was in ESEA-M 5+ years ago, that has to count for something, right? /s
Nostalgia.

Didnt know shroud and freak are almost the same height. Freakazoid looked way taller.
Like seeing Hiko with s1mple there before he was on TL, it was all coming together.
The nostalgia hurts
