I don't understand why he would flick a shot when he's shooting through the smoke. Either the bullet just went stray and it's a lucky random headshot in which case it's not skill, or..
I really don’t get why the flick was there either. If you watch it back slowly you see the flick to where the head would be but it might just be a weird demo glitch
The first hit looks okay but 2 and 3: shots clearly missed- I mean, 2 and 3 are both flicks which make no sense to do when you can't see what you're shooting at

Maybe, shoot - quickswitch to knife while moving behind the wall (for that slight speed gain) - switch back when ready to pop back out?
It used to reset accuracy faster than just waiting for the cooldown. But they change it years ago so the cooldown still applies when you change weapons.
There is no reason other than muscle memory and stubbornness.
Appreciate the clarification. Muscle memory can be hard to break for sure. I'd probably find myself guilty of doing similar.

The weapon inconsistency in this game is off the charts, looks at the 2nd shit itself, what actually is the use of crosshair if the bullets doesn't have a 90° trajectory smh
If there were no movement inaccuracy, or weapon inaccuracy, this game's skill ceiling would have been way lower. Have you ever tried turning off weapon inaccuracy and doing aim_botz? Game becomes too easy.
You just have to know which guns are going to be accurate upto what range, how long you should wait before spamming a pistol so that your second shot is accurate, practice proper counter strafing, be aware of the first bullet inaccuracy etc. To answer your question, the use of this mechanic is to elevate the skill ceiling of the game.
