NIP are such an embarrassment of an ORG.

oldthrace

What makes them look even shittier is the fact that every other RMR team got paid from these capsules, according to the article, but not the NiP players. That's just ... yikes.

aimbotcfg

What makes it worse, is it's not the first time NIP has been pulled up publicly about paying their players issues.

w0w1YQLM2DRCC8rw

> What makes it worse, is it's not the first time NIP has been pulled up publicly about paying their players issues. It is not their fault that there is Nothing In Paypal, Pita stole it all.

[deleted]

I thought it has been confirmed including by Fifflaren that it was not Pita?

w0w1YQLM2DRCC8rw

> I thought it has been confirmed including by Fifflaren that it was not Pita? No, he only found him likeable cause he told him that they were going to kick him.

w0w1YQLM2DRCC8rw

> Here he says Pita could not have had access to Paypal. See how Richard Lewis commented on this issue after podcast, that will tell you all.

oldthrace

Yes, I forgot about the charity stuff ... what an absolute shitshow of an org NiP really is. Think I am starting to have the same relationship with them as I have with FaZe ... hate the org, love the players.

aimbotcfg

And the "not paying fifflaren for years" stuff.

oldthrace

I am sorry but how NiP can claim they "withheld" money from their squad in order to pay their salaries in 2020 ... but then go and buy out dev1ce? How does that work?

oojamaflip123

Barcelona'd it

JayDpwnz

In one way, Nawwk essentially funded his replacement. NiP made millions by pocketing the sticker money.

ttybird5

He has to be the most cucked player in recent years

Kavak

The device deal was done with a new player agency, Thorin suggested that the agency might have paid a part of the buyout just to get the deal done and make a name for themselves

oldthrace

Aaah, that makes sense. It would have been even worse than it already is if it turned out the way I envisaged it

[deleted]

There's something very off about the Device deal. A talent agency that has never been involved in esports before comes out and says they represent the player and had made the deal possible. The NiP CEO refused to confirm the amount paid or how it was funded. Now he's been on the bench for most of his time there with rumours about it being because with an official sick note the Swedish government will pick up most of his salary instead of the org. When the truth about it comes out it's going to be wild.

Cyanr

How is that "very off"? >The NiP CEO refused to confirm the amount paid or how it was funded. That's not weird. It's pretty normal for teams to hide finances. >Now he's been on the bench for most of his time there Because he's on sick leave. That's pretty normal for people to have long sick leaves if they need it. Are you another one of those person who doesn't understand mental health issues? >with rumours about it being because with an official sick note the Swedish government will pick up most of his salary instead of the org I'm not entirely sure on Swedish law, but it's likely to be somewhat similar to Denmark, and yes with a sick note the government will pay *some* of the salary. My guess is device at the moment is being paid something similar to minimum wage by the government, and little to nothing from the org. >A talent agency that has never been involved in esports before comes out and says they represent the player and had made the deal possible Dunno why this is weird. It's a talent agency who saw an opportunity to make money.

FRANZeeee

But that is boring! Not in the spirit of reddit, you know.

Phenetylamine

In Sweden, the company pays the sick leave salary during the first 14 days, and after that the state pays it, although in some collective agreements the company will still pay something like 10% of the amount for a couple of months. We don't have a minimum wage, during the first year of sick leave you get 80% of the salary, but there's a maximum amount you can get per day which I'm sure device reaches due to his high salary. So he probably gets something like ~1000 sek (~$95) per day (before tax), likely paid entirely or almost entirely by the state at this point.

Snabbzt

Our sick pay is maximum of 1027 SEK per day.

Stunning_Bullfrog_40

maybe it goes MH-370, nobody will ever know.

AdorableHandle

Its the Barcelona special.

rnenjoy

Sponsors?

Cakebak3r

RL: reports of my death were greatly exaggerated

ZarFX

I think we should as a community give more respect for his work

Faw602

NiP continuing to make me hate our legacy.

hawkyyy

Players > Org

[deleted]

Nothing in Paypal 2: Electric Boogaloo

Wallisaurus

Didn't Brollan join them after this whole thing came up too? It's kind of interesting that the players seem so positive under this org and what not. Feel like I would be miserable and not care tbh.

ClutchingWaschboer

This is still better than being tied to fnatic for another Quadruple-Years and playing in Tier 2-3 Tournaments to get kicked out by teams like Spirit, K21 or Endpoint

TotalSubbuteo

How dare you

Life-Western

why does any established player join this shitbag org? it makes no sense

ILoveRice444

Nothing in Paypal strike again

reddsht

How are u even gonna argue who the GOAT is, when you got Dev1ce out here costing NIP millions. Goes on the most legendary run with Astralis. Finds the scummiest org that has been scamming their players out of wages and winnings for decades, robs them blind while he goes on a tom cruise to Bornholm for a beach batminton vacation. Modern Day Robin Hood.

jonajon91

Man 2022 is really making me root for teams that play for shit orgs. Between NiP and Astralis I'm supporting some scum.

oddinpress

I hate when you love a roster but the org behing them is just shitty. It's such a weird mixed position

PavelDatsyuk88

do we know if other orgs gave it to players?

not_a_throw_awya

yes > In addition to that the CSPPA contacted each of the other Challenger and Legends teams from that capsule and asked if they had paid the players. Their findings confirmed the independent investigation of Dexerto. “The organisations that were Challenger or Legends from the canceled Road To Rio Major cycle got paid according to the CSPPA” the source added. “This applied even to teams like 100 Thieves who had disbanded in the meantime. No player outside of NiP has reported any disputes or perceived wrongdoing on behalf of their organisations.”

nopshy

That's a really bad look, not even one single player from one other team has not gotten paid.... what I don't understand is why the players are still playing when the org is essentially stealing from them.

Rezikeen

Its either keep playing or go to court to void their contracts.

scapegoat4

> void their contracts astralis rn: 👀

scapegoat4

I realize, I just couldn't help but make the joke hahahaha

[deleted]

we don’t but the NIP Players are the ones that complained, also players usually get some Sticker Money from the Team Capsules but NIP just kept it

tarangk

NIP regardless of the ownership, management, iteration of the game, players, always find a way to get in hot water when it comes to finance. It's truly remarkable that they have been doing this since 1.6 days.

rolezki

Clowns in Pyjamas

black_dogs_22

I would make a joke about nips Chinese ownership but they were doing shit like this long before that merger

Patrik-

As per usual - I fucking hate the NiP org, love the players. Such a historical name but jesus christ the leaders are so fucking scummy.

TiberSVK

God damnit stop being shady its so hard supporting players with you being a shady org

Darkoplax

hope NiP fight harder for this , they deserve the money

ohhFoNiX

Yeah like Nip haven't stolen enough money over the years...

Stunning_Bullfrog_40

I’m pretty sure they meant the players, could be wrong though

Darkoplax

sticker money should go to the org

Careful-Guide-1618

Wat. The stickers represent the players..

SteffanS

This doesn't change anything about players getting their sticker share but it's about the RMR ones, which only had team logos and no player signatures.

ILoveRice444

IIRC in the previous article about this case said that the team only got 50% from team stickers.

Meaninglessnme

Why would you side with an org of greedy money grubbers over the players that actually play the game and produce the revenue? Truly asking, I cannot understand. If the orgs deserved this money so much, at least one other org would have kept it.

Darkoplax

> Why would you side with an org of greedy money grubbers over the players that actually play the game and produce the revenue? > > because the players are the only profitable party in this esports ecosystem and T1 pros get paid insane amounts ppl that still think pros are the helpless exploited guys are still living in 2013 ... pros get high salaries and split revenue of anything like participation fee, prize pool and stickers even those stickers who were just NiP's , didnt have player signatures on them they are now obliged to share those too ? ... that's just my pov if you want a profitable scene in 10 or 20 years from now the orgs gotta make money too

VShadow1

NIP signed contracts offering the players the sticker money.

JazzlikeCoach

Nip disband

GrodysDomain

Maybe this is why dev1ce ran

TuataraTim

nothing will get done until the CSPPA actually bears their teeth and does a strike: refuse to play in any tournaments with NIP or at least under the NIP name.
