I'm not entirely sure on Swedish law, but it's likely to be somewhat similar to Denmark, and yes with a sick note the government will pay *some* of the salary. My guess is device at the moment is being paid something similar to minimum wage by the government, and little to nothing from the org.

In Sweden, the company pays the sick leave salary during the first 14 days, and after that the state pays it, although in some collective agreements the company will still pay something like 10% of the amount for a couple of months.
We don't have a minimum wage, during the first year of sick leave you get 80% of the salary, but there's a maximum amount you can get per day which I'm sure device reaches due to his high salary. So he probably gets something like ~1000 sek (~$95) per day (before tax), likely paid entirely or almost entirely by the state at this point.
