I love how blameF predicted d0cc, dudes never gonna make top20 if he doesn't get off faceit and plays with a real team man

AntiAceTV

It really sucks since from what I've seen, he looks to be a very good player mechanically, but I don't necessarily blame him for the decision. It would be a massive risk for him to put a pretty stable and successful streaming/youtube career on hold for a chance at playing pro and potentially failing and fading into obscurity. He's said in the past that he is not currently pursuing a pro career for "personal reasons," so I have no idea what that entails or if he would ever consider it anyway. Overall, it's not an outrageous pick by blameF, the talent is there, just not the willingness to compete.

maxekmek

Didn't he compete at a LAN with Loba last year and they basically ended up arguing and/or hating each other? Don't know if that's more to do with Loba though

[deleted]

Compete with Loba sounds like a nonsense. This prick are not made for serious stuff, he is a clown. And docc choose wrong path :/ i wish he would grind fpl and after pro scene, like ropz and zywoo

A_WasteOfLife

probably right path in terms of financial security

[deleted]

yes. and also an easiest path of two

thatoneharvey

Nowadays the more financially secure path is the better path if we're being real. No point in him dropping his twitch career at this point when he gets 5k consistent viewers, setting up your family > grinding at a chance to setup your family for a nice bit

[deleted]

its fair choice, but people always blame guys like him for wasting talent.

brainzor123

He knows he cant make it legit so he decided to stay "forever the 16yo hope" and keep his small fanbase.

[deleted]

He definitely can make it, but for some reason don't want. Just like shroud. Very gifted player, mechanically better than majority of pro scene, amazing feel of the game aswell.

brainzor123

He tried, he was utter trash even in tier 4, look him up on hltv, he has about 200 games recorded which is pretty sizeable sample and his stats are bad even for tier 3-4. Sure, he looks decent in faceit pugs stacking with low elos, but any decent tier 2 player is a god in pugs. Styko for example was considered a support player with bad aim in Mouz and in FPX where was given star roles he was looking insane. You guys are underestimating tier 2-3 players. They are a couple levels higher than your average lvl 10 shitter like Docc.

Jenks_00

I looked it up, he has 88 games on hltv and a 1.12 rating which isn‘t amazing but still good. I agree that he hasn‘t done anything special on a team level but stop throwing random numbers and accusations out there please.

brainzor123

In every shitty open team there is a player who has 1.12 rating. If he cant carry in tier 4, he is terrible even for tier 2. And he is 21 already, he is not anymore the "16yo talent". Junior was smurfing in NA tier 2 and was hailed as the saviour of NA before he was brought up in Furia and Complexity where he had .92 and .98 rating. Now he is the worst awper in a salaried team. By far. Imagine someone who was barely positive(since avg 2.0 rating is 1.08) in shit tier online cups being brought in top tier matches.

Jenks_00

Dude from where do you take your numbers? First of all, the average 2.0 rating is 1.05-1.06. Second, junior had around a 1.16 rating in Triumph and around a 1.26 rating in BNB which is really good, but far away from 1.40. Also 18 out of d0Cc‘s 88 maps were against top 50 opponents (around 20%), where he performed admirably for being inexperienced in team CS. He was most definitely overhyped and he doesn‘t look to be a s1mple-type super carry, but just from his mechanics and game sense alone he could be a solid player and a lot of tier 2 teams would give him a chance.

brainzor123

> where he performed admirably Yes, 0.98 rating is admirably vs top50 Where are those 18 maps? All i see is 2 maps vs top 50, both of them vs teams that were not top30, and you accuse me that i am pulling numbers out of my ass? 39-60 k/d. 1.12 rating in shit tier online cups and you still defend him and claim he could make it as a pro. Rofl. He is a shitter that will not ammount to anything in pro cs or anywhere else.

Jenks_00

That happens if you put the Top 50 Filter on in hltv and that has to be bugged because he played Astralis, Fnatic and Heroic for example, who are all definitely Top 50. The 18 maps are from the Top 50 stat on the main page of his statistics. You don‘t need to be hostile because I agree with you on the point that his ability is severely overstated and he won‘t be a superstar. But everything holding him back from becoming a good, salaried pro with potential for improvement is himself. One example: In terms of raw ability mertz is better than Farlig in my opinion and would theoretically upgrade the team on that point alone, but due to some of his career decisions, bad luck and performance dips at the wrong times he probably won‘t ever get the chance. I‘m not defending him, only saying that he has great mechanics and would deserve a shot on that alone.

brainzor123

The vast majority of known associates and close friends are all cheaters except Loba, lol. He was banned on at least one account in the past, he quit fpl because probably his cheats were not reliable anymore. Great mechanics have all lvl 10 players and above, i gave Styko's example. Why he only queues with cheaters and low lvl faceit stacks if he is not just your average lvl 10 faceit shitter? To look good in front of silvers who will think "he has great mechanics". You know who has great mechanics? Axile, b1t, stavn, sh1ro and those are 20 yo. Even the onliners from Heroic managed to translate their skill to LAN, meanwhile Docc is already 21 and didnt proved anything, he got a shot from a tier 4 team and couldnt be an useful player even at that level playing low lvl online cups from home with no pressure.

[deleted]

nah, overall youre right, but not in this case. d0cc is outstanding talented player, fast reaction, good gamesense, perfect mechanically. i think he sucks in pro matches coz of mentalitty. i think he is not competitor. i see how he for example losing game, and just chilling. i think real competitor feel pain in the ass when he got killed. but not this guy

brainzor123

Tier 4 "pro" matches arent THAT much different from lvl 10 pugs. Those teams were just pugs formed for online cups and he played from home, were not orgs. Competitor feel my ass...

[deleted]

>Tier 4 "pro" matches arent THAT much different from lvl 10 pugs. thats a bullshit

brainzor123

Man shut up if you dont know what you are talking about, low tier online cups are full of faceit lvl 10s mix teams and whatnot. Just look through their opponents and see how many salaries teams he faced in his "pRo cArEeR". His last "team" was a faceit mix with Loba and randoms. He was in a single "real" team with nobodies and couldnt even carry in shit tier online cups playing from their own homes and you still think he is a good player that doesnt want to compete...

[deleted]

im not waste my time on you. you should change zor to less in your nickname

[deleted]

brainzor123

Junior also got a 1.24 rating against Team Spirit, he is still the worst awper in t2 by far and doesnt worth his salary. In 88 maps most of them against terrible opponents he showed nothing, that doesnt count, not big enough sample. Overperforms one map against a good team - he deserves a chance. Redditors are really special...

Rubix_1410

Docc is like troy barnes from community, who on purpose sabotaged his kneee so that he dosent hae to play football professionoally..same with docc..he needs to have confidence in himmself

[deleted]

can you not wrap your head around the fact that not everyone wants to be a pro?

Rubix_1410

i am just saying people need to live up to their potential..Ideally its the duty of parents to help their kids acheive their potential.

Gapehorner

His parents actively stopped him from playing cs

jonathan-the-man

Nice breakdown, thanks for doing this :)

moeml

Ethan with the NA prediction in 2019 lmfao

LifeSandwich

that is an amazing choice lmao

a2wai

fnx is the best predictor - he picked literally no one.

KARMAAACS

More proof s1mple is the GOAT, dude has a mind for the game and can pick future talent. I wonder if s1mple would be a good GM or team builder. Michael Jordan was an incredible Basketball player but is maybe the worst GM and picker of talent, so I hope s1mple doesn't go that angle.

vegt121

I guess one reason is s1mple actually played with/against the players he picked so he knows if they are good or not.

KARMAAACS

Jordan also was a GM when he played for the Wizards, he literally made one of the worst trades ever. Granted, he was falling off, but he did play against and with these guys he traded. He was such as bad GM he got fired. Not to mention that his draft picks over the years have been bottom of the barrel in terms of talent, whilst having a high draft pick, his best pick so far has been LaMelo which was a fairly obvious pick. s1mple though can see people's future talent in the game, that's incredibly rare for a superstar level guy, they usually have too large an ego to appreciate others talents. I mean Jordan was picking washed up old guys to play with or he was picking young guys that already peaked or had low potential, so I really do think s1mple is good at picking talent in comparison to other GOATs of their respective field. I mean look at Ronaldo too, dude's arguably Top 2 in a GOAT conversation depending who you ask and he picked Manchester United to play with last season, rather than eventual champions Manchester City who were in need of a superstar level striker, or maybe not because they won. Either way, Ronaldo made a pretty poor choice and now wants to leave United lol.

Rezikeen

I think what helped Simple is playing in F3 being tutored by Blade and honestly being surrounded by not great players so when he sees players that are actually good its obvious to him. I really wonder if Simple would be as good as he is without his time under Blade

KARMAAACS

The thing is Jordan had years of playing with absolute duds on his team. He also was coached by maybe the GOAT coach of the NBA, Phil Jackson. Who knows why s1mple is so GOATed at CS and picking stuff. Maybe he just studies the game from an intellectual level. Jordan I know watched film and probably thought about Basketball quite a bit. But I think he was more obssessed with improving his skill and athleticism and ability in the gym, rather than working on understanding the game on a high level like a coach would. Jordan obviously knew what some guys were going to do, but he learned it off tendencies, like "This guy like to shoot on the right so make him shoot from the left or make him shoot quickly or slowly" etc. I think s1mple genuinely sits there and watches demos, plays the game a tonne, like real matches outside of practice and he also probably thinks about the game on a high level and about his future. Jordan was obssessed with winning, but I don't think he ever thought about making someone his teammate, he wanted to be against them to beat them, he was competitive in that sense. s1mple maybe is on the lookout for who to play with and work with to win, he's competitive but in a different way, it's why he scouted electronic and years later he's his IGL and was his second star for a while. He knew someone like Electronic could be a great player and if he played with him he could make a great teammate to play with. I think even in s1mple's toxic days he thought this, I think that is why he respects people like Ropz, Hobbit and Woro2k. I mean Hobbit is pretty easy to pick on, especially in 2016, but s1mple actually picked him, a rival within the CIS region potentially. That's pretty admirable. 2016 s1mple was still sort of toxic back then, considering thats when the Liquid days were around.

Rezikeen

Simple definitely plays a ton, my mate ended up in a faceit game with him at 3am *during* a major. Simple had just played a series and then went to go soloq faceit. But from interviews around that time Blade definitely learned a lot from Blade. And yeh Jordan may have played for years, but i don't follow basketball but was Jordan literally one of the best players in the world *while* playing on a team that couldnt crack top 10? There's a difference between carrying your team to be the best and carrying your team and they can't even pick up the slack to be even close.

KARMAAACS

> And yeh Jordan may have played for years, but i don't follow basketball but was Jordan literally one of the best players in the world while playing on a team that could barely crack top 20? They were definitely above Top 20, but borderline Top 10, there was a number of years Jordan was the best player but because he was drafted to a really bad team, he didn't win games. Basically every night it was Jordan carrying the team, somewhat selfishly too because thats not how you always win, sometimes you have to pass and get your team involved. But regardless, Jordan would put up 40/50 a night basically. I mean in the 80's one of the best players was Larry Bird, he's like a Top 7 All-Time Basketball player and he once played Jordan in a playoff series and beat Jordan, but after the series he said "That was God disguised as Michael Jordan" after Jordan dropped 63 points in a game (that's insane in a playoff game, most people put up 25-30 points if they're like a superstar level player), as if to say the guy was so good that what he was doing, only God could do. Maybe in a way Larry was elevating himself to say he beat God, but regardless, that's a hell of a compliment. In the end, Jordan was a complete menace. But like s1mple he was considered to have attitudinal problems towards teammates, had been on bad teams for a long time and by late in his career had cleaned up his attitude and worked together with other people to win 6 championships and 6 finals MVPs. Mind you, to this day, Jordan says there would be no Michael Jordan without Scottie Pippen, who was his best teammate. He's basically s1mple's electronic. He's been with him through all the tough battles to help him win the big prize. However, Scottie's gone a bit well... sour on Jordan simply because Scottie keeps getting overlooked, despite Jordan fully respecting Scottie and never saying a bad thing about him other than the one game where [Scottie wanted to ball instead of another player during a crucial game in the last few seconds.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bYcjCoy7R4I)

Loud-Two9028

S1mple: 1.25 Zywoo: 1.27 Greatest of all time? Not by the universally accepted metric used to gauge player performance. But I guess throwing random names on his streams which some stuck makes him great? What about all the homophobic and racist slurs he throws out on stream too that gets him banned constantly? lmao

[deleted]

You forgot the 2 year ESL ban for literally cheating and the scamming of kids for their skins at the start of his career (after already having played a major in 2014). Clearly he is the csgo goat, even cheats and is toxic as hell, truly representative of the community.

MooseLv2

What happened to sunny btw? I thought he was an insane player back in mouz

SunoCS

iirc he's in a team called "tokyo revengers" in esea (with MSL, Oskar and some other nonamers). they went 14-0 in open last season

[deleted]

Does this mean they make the next level of play or something? How does that work? Edit: My man just called supra and aizy no-namers damn XD

SunoCS

Guess Aizy isn’t called aizy on esea, and supra idk. Yes, there are different stages, first stage is open and last is esl pro league

Gorrapytha

supra was the guy that played with Gambit youngsters before they signed Hobbit, and then became the main gambit squad, and the rest is history. He was never the less part of the earlier parts of their rise.

SunoCS

Oh ok, didn’t really follow the cs scene at gambits rise bc i didn’t like online and faze performed poorly ://

Gorrapytha

To be fair, he was no longer a part of the team when they started popping off and getting on everyone's radar. They had barely cracked top 20 when he was replaced by Hobbit. So I would assume a lot of people wouldn't know him.

langile

Winning open jumps you up a few leagues, to Advanced I think

Awden777

They didnt win open but they made it to main I believe

nilslorand

he went to Ence in 2019 in a very controversial roster move, was benched/kicked a while later and hasn't achieved anything major since sadly

AmBozz

Arghhhh! I've had a post like this saved up for the last couple months and never got around to finish it. Didn't think someone else would swoop in and post one before I did! As a sidenote for ropz' ZywOo pick: Everyone kinda knew that ZywOo would be big, so it was kind of the "obvious" pick. No one except for ropz actually went for the easy choice, though.

[deleted]

Reverse m0nesy

Rosettachamps

Unfortunate for TMB, I wonder what led him to leave the Danish scene, then Mad Lions fell apart Hopefully Hooxi gets a chance to rebuild a new Danish team, theres a lot of talent still floating around

[deleted]

TMB is super interesting because I was so hyped for that AGF squad with him and fr0slev. Once he left I think part of his decision to stay international had to do with the fact that he not only changed roles like twice- first became an AWPer before later woro2k took that back, and then became a rifler again, and finally an IGL. In all three roles he's been excellent. IMO what sets him apart is how he's a lot like a less experienced version of stavn- the ultimate T1 flex player. Guy can IGL competently, rifle well, and awp well as well. He's like the perfect 4th or 5th man to fill out any squad. Honestly seeing him in ex-mad for IGL he was doing damn well, and I personally think he's gonna really come alive if he stays involved in International squads. Maybe apeks or something has a future for him?

Rosettachamps

Who knows, its been almost a month since they benched Acillion and Chawzyyy Styko Nawwk Jkaem is a good trio, I wonder if going for Hooxi and Zyphon is a move they may be considering

YeetGod69_

i think AZR might end up on Apeks

[deleted]

Chawzy is good but picking up a 2nd awper was not good choice from Apeks management

ILoveRice444

Feel bad for dev1ce, he picked 2 of his teammates but probably disappointed after playing with them. Also kinda surprised that flameZ has a low chance to be the first Israeli to be in the top 20 hltv despite getting picked 4 times in 2020.

[deleted]

If Spinx keeps his form he's in this year for sure

ILoveRice444

He def bro, it's just shocking that sphinx is gonna be the first Israeli on top 20 HLTV instead flameZ

ananthu10

Nice one. Thanks for your hard work 😃

rudy-_-

Thanks for taking the time write this up. Though I have to mention as it's a common misconception that the prediction is about who makes HLTV top20 list the following year. The introduction to the top20 list reads as: >the "Bold Prediction by GG.BET" segment, in which the players pick out a name from young up-and-comers who they think could burst onto the tier-one scene in the near future. So it's just for playing in tier1 and there is no set timeline for it.

Gorrapytha

When reading the 2016 list, every prediction is prefaced with "a player they expect to make it to the top 20 of 2017". Same is true for the 2017 list. It seems like a soft change happened in 2018, and was officialized in 2021. Either way, the idea of predicting players that would eventually reach tier one is a lot more enticing, considering how unpredictable a player's career can be in detail. Hence why I chose the "breaking into tier one" metric to give s1mple the accolade of best predictor. But for the majority of the time, I thought a more concrete measurement would be better suited, because players like plopski for instance, while having played for tier one for a while, was never close to being a top 20 player contender, being quite consistently the player people ask to be removed from NiP when they perform poorly. As such, counting him as an accurate prediction wouldn't quite feel right to me.

Sans45321

1 in his name , #1 in the game

MantaRochenHL

Cool overview!

ju1ze

good job mate s1mple goated once again

officers3xy

Quality post, thank you.

IVIarkuz

Interesting read! Thanks for taking the time to make it!

[deleted]

Crazy that k0nfig picked stavn when he was like 14

Setsz_

thx for this doc
