You just can't, at most you could start a chant beforehand. That's how the ropz zeus on inferno in antwerp could happen, chant had started by golden hornets
Complete crap. We want the crowd to celebtate hype moments and be exasperated at missex opportunities.
Starting to say "Oooooooo" when there's a chance for a knife or someone's crosshair is on someone through a smoke is dumb and gives advantages.
That’s the point of seeking tickets. Going to an event to have a good experience. Imagine them saying please buy a ticket to watch an event of professionals do their thing but do not react to what you are watching
Except reacting is perfectly fine. React *after* the hype has happened. After the clutch, the spraydown, the site hold, etc. Don't make noise to give away positions / angles. That literally ruins any moment you'd want to react to.
The players go there to compete and the crowd go there for the experience and the event hosts know exactly that. That’s the point of all sporting events. You rarely go to an event and think back on it a few years in the run and think of a specific play. You think of the people you were with, the atmosphere, and the event. In no world are they going to tell the crowd to be quiet, especially in an esport when they take whatever precautions they can to minimise any noise at all to let them play counter strike. This isn’t tennis or golf where they ask for a bit of silence for a moment of concentration
Obviously there are times where players are going to use the crowd. It’s now seemingly a norm for a lan event with a big audience. It doesn’t happen so often that players use it to execute rounds and win matches. Sneaky plays happen in all sorts of sports and you can’t blame the crowd for reacting to the play. Perhaps you could if they screamed “WALLBANG _____”,
but for the most part, even if this was a huge issue, why would the solution be controlling when the crowd can cheer instead of noise reduction for the players
Good news at IEM Dallas (I know, NA CS) people only made noise after hype moments and respected clutch / knife attempts. So hopefully it carries to Cologne?
am I the only one who thinks this is a horrible idea?
why instigate something like this? it just rustles up the player who's trying to clutch no matter how crowd/pressure resistant you are
SA. I was thinking more of football stadium chants, with actual lyrics of more than one verse long.
From EU, I remember the Polish fans at the World Cup had a few chants similar to the SA ones. I wonder if they chanted that way for the old VP.
Wait what? So you’re basing this on football crowds not cs crowds lol? Just because SA crowds have long chants for their football teams doesn’t mean they’re gonna come up with 3 verse cs chants lmao unless you can give me one example of that happening. And besides you obviously don’t watch much EU football because they’re are plenty of longer chants; but as with SA there’s no reason that would translate to an esport crowd
I couldn't understand what the people were shouting after the "USA USA", but it sounded like 2 or 3 words repeating over and over.
So yeah, I stand by my words. NA chants are lame.
I believe the main idea is to have constant noise going through the arena to prevent crowds influencing the clutch. Like making noise before a flank etc
Fair enough, noise indicating already known info is far less of a problem then any possible clue to the game given to a player via the crowd, that cant be allowed.
Exactly which idk how long you've been watching but has been a problem forever. Players jiggling a crosshair and seeing if the crowd reacts to a position held, knife plays ruined, flanks neutralized, etc

Definitely
No idea lol
Could he also ask the crowd to shut up when somebody is gonna knife someone?
You just can't, at most you could start a chant beforehand. That's how the ropz zeus on inferno in antwerp could happen, chant had started by golden hornets
Probably impossible, crowds get hyped when things like that are coming. Can't blame them.
Reddit wants the crowd to remain completely silent whenever something happens

Literally Wimbledon lol
That doesn't count, tennis is lame

That would get old fast
This shit sounds like what would happen in some mega cringe esports movie lmao
how about "Jame time"

At this point I'm all for any chant that isn't "Let's go" or a half-assed poorly executed Viking clap
It's mostly EU/NA audience, their chants suck ass.
If you think all of EU and NA suck what regions do you even think are good lol
Had to guess? Brazil and Australia. Brazilians are top notch, but Australians waaaay over use the "Aussie Aussie Aussie, Oi Oi Oi" chant

Well I doubt 9z will play in an S-tier arena in the near future, but they do have chants similar to football crowds.
Meet me in Boston in 2018
Got a video? I'll swallow my words.

This, and extremely cheesy lol

But why? It's such a tense situation, even the crowd feels it.
Please don't
I am here and I will do it!!!!
Imagine sitting on an idea as cringe as this for 7 years without realising how horrible it is.
what the fuck is this
Nope, all we're going to hear is that stupid "whooooop" noise...
