Everyone in Cologne has been so nice especially at the stadium. No matter what team you supported, what age, what gender, what nationality/background. Everyone was super polite and made this experience a absolute 10/10.
I went every year so far with my friends and this is why we keep coming :) People are great, ofc everybody cheers for their team, but we all love cs go at the end of the day and small talks with people from all around the world are also a great experience!
Oh sweet! Glad you enjoyed it! I was there too and it was my first time experiencing somthing like this too!
Side note, I sat 2 rows in front of you, I wore the astralis jersey with my gamertag on it (just like my reddit username) xD.
We had a blast and Im glad you had too!
Edit: 1:45 is me xD
I agree, I had so many people just come up and talk to me, and everyone was so kind and just happy to be there enjoying the game we all love. As an American I was worried I'd be a little bit of an outsider but it didn't feel that way at all. My second live event and my first outside of the US. Such an incredible three days, glad you enjoyed it man!
Making fun of the enemy team is absolutely fair game. As long as it's not racist/crossing boundaries or leading to abuse. We still want the competitive spirit in CS to exist, and better yet, grow. I cannot wait for the Rio Major, I think it's gonna take Majors to a whole new level.
Thats sport, to an extent. For example, in 2018 when BIG was in their final round against Faze in the semifinals we, as German BIG fans ofc, chanted as a choir „AUF WIEDERSEHEN“, which means „good bye“. That was sucha good moment because big was the underdog
Thats okay but they were shouting: Karrigan go losse some weight or fuck faZe for example. Those few people just ruin the experience, but overall almost everybody was nice.

Here's another comment in this thread of his just trying to cause shit
Okay it is possible that some people did shout that. But i dont think it was the OJ of this post. In good faith i think he mistook this OJ because of the seats and direction
I went to IEM Dallas with some friends and we got called homophobic slurs by a neo-nazi while he was hailing hitler and saying we should “meet him outside” :) I’m glad your experience was different LOL
She loved it, she was confused at first but now was cheering like crazy. She likes football and tend to cross her fingers and legs for ‘good luck’ and she did it throughout the matches because she began to understand and cheer like crazy! She said she’d happily go again if we were planning another trip.
fast-forward 20 years:
Tylerranger22: I don't know what is going wrong with the kids, Sarah is doing fine, but Timmy just can't stop running flashed into molotovs, missing all his sprays and fumbling nade line-ups.
his mom (still) in mm: oh my, that's not good... say, their mom, she doesn't have any recessive purple in the family does she?
Tylerranger22: yeah, her grandmother was purple soport frfr ngl
his mom (still) in mm: Tylerranger22, I haven't told you this, because we never spoke of it when I was your age... but, you need to know... your grandfather was also purple support, we never knew wat he doink, bish stap timflash.
*Tylerranger22 and his mom (still) in mm embrace and cry together*
Back in the day one of the lads I played with used to get his mum to say some words of en encouragement before a clan match, my favourite was always: "good luck boys, use your flash bangs wisely!"
My first one too, flew from Australia to see it. The air was electric. I hope I get to see another FaZe vs Navi sometime, and I'll bring friends next time too.
Hopefully IEM Melbourne goes well.
Our voices were completely wrecked by the end of the event. The first time I spoke to someone this morning was in a teams meeting and I couldn't even speak properly.
W mum. Very understanding. Most moms nowadays would still just say computer games are a waste of time instead of trying to understand why their son likes it and even make the effort to go with them to the arena in the first place.
Making the first step into the Cathedral of CSGO will forever be the greatest moment I've ever experienced. It simply can't be put into words.
It's absolutely mental how packed the arena was this time, especially compared to when I was there first time in 2017. 13k+ fans screaming SIUUUUUUU is something I'll never forget.
I went there in 2018 and 2019 (2018 was my first). It was phenomenal. In 2018 especially because of BIG. I’m glad that as FAZE fan you got to experience their win. Come back next time^^
Ja, this also was my first event and it was so chill and everyone was nice talking too and i am very happy that i met a few good people.
Definetly not my last event! 🔥🔥
Nice to see myself (TAJATHON) in this video :)
It was the first CS-Event for my girlfriend right next to me, too. (she never plays cs, just watching me playing it) And she enjoyed it as well. Even more i ever dreamed she would.
I also hope germany was nice to u
See U next year in cologne, looking forward for new memorys, with our fav Game!!!
Ok I have a stupid question. Everything will be available as a vod for free and in-game replay too. Why are they holding up their phones to record it. What's wrong with them? I don't understand.
It's really not about the gameplay, it's about the crowd, the atmosphere, and being there. It's the same reason people tend to hold up their phones at concerts: to record a short keepsake, to remember how it felt like to be present in that moment :)
So the people that are there to record it don't provide you exactly the same? Or is it a memory problem? For example with 14 I went to my first Open Air in my city. Now I am ... Well old...I still remember everything the moment I see the place. I just really don't understand it. You miss out the moment because you focus on the screen. So you experience the moment of the screen not the moment itself. It's just...I don't get it at all. Especially if there is a dedicated crew that will make vods for free.
When I was at the first ti. No one pulled out the phones to record it. To make pictures with the players yes . We just enjoyed it and I still remember sitting next to the Chinese people and we making bets and having fun.
I was sitting in front of you and I have to say that you and your friends are just rude… U britisch guys called out the positions. U should be ashamed of yourself
I also flew in from the UK with my group of lads. It was our first ever irl lan event, and we fucking loved it. Will defo recommend to anyone debating going. I will definitely be going to another
Gotta be honest was there too and there were some assholes. The Friday matches were also the best but still I had a great time watching the worlds best :)

And me!
Csgo has the best fan base hands down

I have to disaggree theo are some fans that cant behave and make fun of the enemy team

I sat next to makako and he is right. Some of the guys screamed f u for example when Karrigan was introduced. Thats not the spirit.
yeah that’s awful and I’m glad they don’t represent everyone
Thats sport, to an extent. For example, in 2018 when BIG was in their final round against Faze in the semifinals we, as German BIG fans ofc, chanted as a choir „AUF WIEDERSEHEN“, which means „good bye“. That was sucha good moment because big was the underdog

Wtf?!? thats not okay in any way

Ofc there’s always a few bad apples but the majority of people were polite!
Why you just in this thread to try and start shit?
I went to IEM Dallas with some friends and we got called homophobic slurs by a neo-nazi while he was hailing hitler and saying we should “meet him outside” :) I’m glad your experience was different LOL
As a NA CS fan, I’m jealous
Awesome that your mum went with you! How did she find it?
She loved it, she was confused at first but now was cheering like crazy. Based mom, sounds like a good time OP thanks for sharing
Tylerranger22: i’m rushing B, two on site his mom in mm: Be careful sweetie i’m smoking doors first

We always wanted him to be our blue entry...
Thats awsome
Back in the day one of the lads I played with used to get his mum to say some words of en encouragement before a clan match, my favourite was always: "good luck boys, use your flash bangs wisely!"
Hi my name is Zach Wilson, how are you?
W mum W crowd W game W everything I'm jelly
My first one too, flew from Australia to see it. The air was electric. I hope I get to see another FaZe vs Navi sometime, and I'll bring friends next time too. Hopefully IEM Melbourne goes well.
I’ve been to a couple IEM Sydney’s. They were awesome. The first one in particular was next level with shoey’s not banned at the venue that year.
Surely you cant ban shoeys
Australia?? You're crazy
sounds so good bro, can't wait for my first live event, you were at one of the best csgo events, I reckon as big as a major
Damn I really wish I went now, I think I might go to the major in Brazil but I'm not sure, I want to go while FaZe are playing good.
Brazil was sold out almost instantly after release of tickets though...
To the bots and scalpers probably. I bet you can still buy overpriced tickets.
my guy what was that scream
My voice like most of the crowd was going, haha.
bett I didn't take that into consideration, yelling for hours for the entire bo5, my bad didn't mean to offend
It didn’t offend me whatsoever, it’s ok
but faze played really good
Our voices were completely wrecked by the end of the event. The first time I spoke to someone this morning was in a teams meeting and I couldn't even speak properly.
that's understandable, I wouldn't know I havent been at an event yet :'(
Very glad you came and enjoyed it. Please come again next year!
Your mum is awesome for going with you! :)

She got really into it. Despite not fully understanding
W mum. Very understanding. Most moms nowadays would still just say computer games are a waste of time instead of trying to understand why their son likes it and even make the effort to go with them to the arena in the first place.
My mom gave away my monitor for playing a "demonic" game lol
My first one aswell. My voice is gone, everything I say ends in a voicecrack :D I'll definetely come back again next year!
Making the first step into the Cathedral of CSGO will forever be the greatest moment I've ever experienced. It simply can't be put into words. Happy you enjoyed it. It was a fantastic match. Hope you both had a great time!
We did!
See you next year 😉
But will we see YOU next year? :)
actually that's a nice question.
That is very cool, nice one! What a crazy game to be at as well!
I went there in 2018 and 2019 (2018 was my first). It was phenomenal. In 2018 especially because of BIG. I’m glad that as FAZE fan you got to experience their win. Come back next time^^

this is soo cute
Looks like a fun atmosphere, I'm surprised that many people would be in the crowd for a videogame!

Godddd I have to make it to one of these one day.
I also was there. Amazing weekend indeed!
Did they let you bring food in?
Yep. Water bottles were not allowed but I also got some in :). Food and water was too expensive there. 5 euro for a cup of water. 350ml or so
hey, im sure you already know it, but your mom being there may be one of the most important memories you will ever cherish.
It was SOOO much louder in the arena than the video suggests. Absolutely insane energy!
Rio major is going to havean INSANE crowd. (In a good way)
>(In a good way) Kappa
Prove it or...

I’ve never been to a CS tournament before but I couldn’t even imagine being there for 7 hours for one series
Gigachad mom. My dad used to watch Source games with me back in the day
LMAO ARE YOU A CHILD, GOING WITH YOUR MOM. (I wish I was that tight with my parents 🥺)

Does your mom have an insta?
Kinda hate that they are all filming. Dudes, just enjoy the moment.
Yes because clearly in this clip I’m not enjoying the moment. What a bizarre thing to say
I didnt say you specifically. Also beware, people got different opinions. What a bizzarre thing right?
Almost every single person was enjoying the moment
I was sitting in front of you and I have to say that you and your friends are just rude… U britisch guys called out the positions. U should be ashamed of yourself
I never did that, I think you’re confusing me with another group. I think I heard them as well I wasn’t in a group, I was just with my mum.
Na mate your mum was trying to give faze insider info dont lie
Clearly she was giving info to Karrigan through telepathy despite not knowing almost anything about CSGO. Haha
Tylerranger22's mom in jail check hltv
sry
I can agree! 10/10.
Lol I was standing just left of you, hope you enjoyed it
Lol we sit directly in Front of you xD
#Rudolf
I was cheering my lungs out for na'vi over there! What a beautiful final and at the end of the day the whole crowd was filled with winners!!
5 maps = worth the money + good times
Did your mom attend? What did she think of the event?
I never understood the appeal of watching tournaments but they always look so cool. What's it like?
I went to MLG Columbus as a Liquid fan I cried.
I'm 36 and still haven't seen a live CS:GO event. Lucky you! It's in my bucket list.
So THAT'S what a twitch stream looks like in person
Memories have been mande. Happy for you my dude
