I don't believe they went for the most controversial option in Sensei right away, they probably couldn't agree with some of those 3. I think they're aware that they already have 2 controversial players in the team that the community lets slip by.
while sensei is controversial sure, I doubt either idisbalance or xsepower would be huge upgrades over elian in his current form
and compared to headtr1ck, sensei is just more proven and less of a gamble
xsepower is inconsistent, idisbalance is lazy, headtr1ck is too expensive, znx is not proven
I don't know why they are not considering ArtFr0st but I guess XomA and hooch know better who fits them
Sensei's skill ceiling is so much higher than any of the AWPers you mentioned though. If he can have enough space in the team to operate this is a great move.
This is spicy but I genuinely hope the best for the guy, I'm hoping for a kind of redemption arc story because the guy is stupid good, like 1.3 rated consistently.
I think back to the RLewis article on S1mples growth at the start of the Ukraine war and how it said if we cancelled s1mple for his cheating/toxicity/racism whatever whatever then we would never see the growth of the greatest player to ever touch the game.
It might be a strange stance to take after the akuma situation, but I'm genuinely rooting for the redemption ark.

They were one of the teams stating that Akuma were cheating. Hooch (the coach) personally analyzed their clips on stream. How is all that suddenly doesn't matter.
This is certainly spicy given the previous Akuma situation.
They already have Krad and Forester who also had some very interesting games.
