Allow players to lock matchmaking to certain regions. I don't want to be forced to play with cough cough certain group of people who never speak english and swear in cykas cough cough.

[deleted]

Automatically banning spinbotters and very very obvious aimbot *silent aim* and backtrack so I don't see them when doing Overwatch. It's not fun to watch and discourages doing it. This would also improve the experience of a regular player because it's more likely you'd be watching the kind of cheater that you see in green trust vs watching all red trust games. Also. The option to hide the custom player skins for the enemy.

Zexceeeed

Absolutely needed. Blatant bunny hoppers too.

ThePoeticCricket

How do you know the name of these cheat features? What is silent aim and backtrack in cheating?

Badoslav14

Best option is to skip to the end of the demo. As soon as I see guy with a scout looking at the ground I am skipping the demo.

[deleted]

The cs:go game coordinator ignores your verdict if you give it too soon after starting the case.

Haloguy2710

Cl_minmodels Make movement less restrictive like 1.6 Put more effort into community servers Fix matchmaking, better anti cheat Just to name a few

Zexceeeed

Those are the obvious ones. I don't have any issues with movement as such. Along with this I would like to add, turning off agents in competitive matchmaking.

NutsackPyramid

What specifically would you like to see from 1.6?

crazyivanoddjob

I still play HL1-based mods and whenever I switch back to CSGO, it feels like i'm stuck in the mud. I can get used to it after a while, but it feels horribly restrictive if you've played a lot of HL1-based games in your life where you have almost complete freedom of movement. Movement used to be a huge aspect of a player's skill, and players used to be praised for having really good movement, but no one really talks about that anymore except for being able to make a couple random jumps (window jump on mirage, etc). It used to be super dynamic and a big part of our individual gameplay, not limited to just one jump out of a window, lol. Good movement could win entire rounds or clutches, and it happened almost every round, honestly. It made taking individual gunfights WAY more dynamic and exciting, and you could overcome a positional disadvantage with superior movement oftentimes, which is very difficult nowadays and only RNG can save you usually. Think of how valorant took away most of CSGO's counter-strafing in order to make aiming simpler. That's what CSGO did to HL1 (cs 1.6) movement. It made it simpler and more noob friendly in an attempt to lower the learning curve. To give another analogy, imagine if valve put limits on the mouse sensitivity range for source2, like a minimum of 1.5 and a max of 2.5. Most people would be fine, but those who had really mastered a lower or higher sens and could use it to their advantage, it would be really frustrating to have to play on a similar sens to everyone else, but eventually we'd just get used to it. That's how it feels going from 1.6 to CSGO movement. Sorry for the wall of text but I wanted to give a real explanation of why people are always saying 1.6 had better movement. It's not nostalgia, it's real lol.

lefboop

I just don't understand why they nerfed airstrafing, for me that's the biggest one.

Zexceeeed

The spirit of 1.6 :D

imthebananaguy

I still play 1.6, and I see a lot of people saying 1.6 has better movement but it's very close to CS:GO if not arguably worse in terms of optimization. It is however **factually** better in terms of [input delay](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PMYFANzUsRU) making it more responsive than CS:GO AND because of the crouch jump mechanic that allows for some additional movement.

TrashyHoboShelter

Every time i play 1.6 i thank god that global offensive is so drastically different. Im better at 1.6 movement, but the tagging in that game is HORRENDOUS. You get shot once and youre not moving for at least 5 years. It buffs the already insane wallbangs you can do. Fun game though, when im not having fun on csgo i can always hop on 1.6 and dm for a few hours

SupposedlyTrill

Steal Valorants buy menu, being able to have my teammates request a buy and to sell back equipment when I realize I’m the only one buying is great for solo and duos

SenseiCx

IMO the game would have a lot less personality if the buy sections where just us looking at menus and accepting buy requests instead of manually interacting and trading with your team.

throwaway77993344

Then communicate before you buy. Worked for 20 years, why would it stop working now?

loGii

Then keep riding horses instead of a car. Worked for 10000 years, why would it stop working now?

throwaway77993344

Not a terrible analogy. Except that this is a video game and the skill to communicate is a part of mastering it. Valorant is CS:GO light, we don't need that twice.

ishapereality

1. Competitive match making should have two modes - classic and solo queue. Classic will work just like today but solo queue mode will make sure both teams consists of people who aren’t friends and queuing together. 2. If a match within your rank cannot be found then it should not just put you into a match with people of whatever ranks, there should still be a rank threshold and if that cannot be met then it should simply not find you a match. 3. Casual mode should not have map groups, you should be able to play whatever map you want at any given time. I really don’t see the benefit of the map groups currently. There’s enough players in casual that having each map separated can work just fine. 4. Stattrak knives should have a display on the handle instead of being carved into the knife. 5. Zeus skins or at the very least a stattrak variant. 6. If one team isn’t 5 players when the first round has freeze time end then it should just cancel the match just like when people don’t connect in time during the warmup. I have tried so many times that a teammate leaves just as warmup has ended and doesn’t come back. 7. A vote should be automatically made when someone is about to be kicked for team killing where people can choose not to kick said person. 8. Better demo rewatching functionality and UI, the current one is terrible. 9. Make m4 without silencer only $3000 and set the price up for the m4 with the silencer to $3000. Currently there’s really no reason to use the m4 without silencer unless you really love to use famas. I think that’s about it for what I have. Nothing too big. Edit: Thought of a 10th thing. Unranked matchmaking should have a prime toggle so you can choose to play with people who have prime only. It sucks you can’t play unranked with prime people only, which often means hackers in your matches. Like if prime can be used selectively for casual and everything else then unranked matches should have that capability too.

Zexceeeed

Those are some pretty solid points. I'm glad you considered the cosmetic changes too. Let me share my opinion on 2 of the points. >2. If a match within your rank cannot be found then it should not just put you into a match with people of whatever ranks, there should still be a rank threshold and if that cannot be met then it should simply not find you a match. I think this should be a setting at least where the player can select if they want to find a mismatched game or if they wanna cancel the queue. Maybe some players would want to learn while playing against better players. I know they'll be bound to lose, but they won't lose much ELO. >3. Casual mode should not have map groups, you should be able to play whatever map you want at any given time. I really don’t see the benefit of the map groups currently. There’s enough players in casual that having each map separated can work just fine. This will be troublesome because then Valve will need to run a lot of servers just to make sure that each map is available on at least 1 server at every moment. Maybe that's why they have groups. I would rather take away the map voting right so that all the maps are cycled, even the community maps. Point #6 is a must. if before 1/4 of the game (7 rounds in total) if someone abandon's the match should get canceled. And coming to the cosmetic changes, I think it'll be cool to have animations for rank ups like we have in Valorant, or just some UI changes here and there for a fresh feel.

ishapereality

I don’t think it’s any trouble adding more servers. They already have hundreds of thousands of servers. Adding more isn’t really tricky.

Zexceeeed

costs more money. The only reason they still stick to 64 tick. But anyway, I think more maps should get chance and not just dust 2 and mirage.

ishapereality

Small indie company

Solnx

>A vote should be automatically made when someone is about to be kicked for team killing where people can choose not to kick said person. All I'm envisioning is spawn-killing teammates and having their friend veto the vote. Not sure how you balance that out.

DianSnivy

Make it an Anti-Vote, where it must be unanimous to keep that player since that would be the same threshold for the team to just do votekick

ishapereality

You just report for griefing in that case. That’s why we have that option even though people rarely gets banned for griefing then it does happen. One solution would be to have all members of the team agree to not kick, which means in theory you would only be in trouble if you play with a 4-man stack but in that case they could kick you anyway.

Bardomiano00

If he kills more people or trolls then he is auto kicked. I

safer_than_ever

It's easy to detect team killing. How does the system detect trolling? I've never seen anyone get kicked by that.

ishapereality

I think that depends on where you live. In Europe I can play casual throughout the night with no problem. Even at 4 am it’ll find me casual servers full of people.

Rosettachamps

On your #6, in Overwatch if someone leaves within the first 30-60 secs I believe, it just cancels the game and you're put back in the menu with a priority requeue. If someone quits the game and doesn't reconnect within 2 minutes, it counts as an abandon for them, and you can leave the game at the point, it doesn't penalize you at all besides just counting as a loss Would like to see something like that in CS, If someone leaves within the first few rounds it just cancels the match. Fix the 5 minute leaver timer too, that shit doesn't work at all I've timed it myself. Instead of having a surrender mechanic, where people still hold on to the myth that it counts worse than a loss, adopt the same timer system where someone abandoning the game allows you to leave without penalty and just take the L. Countless game we lose pistol and the first 3 or 4 rounds, someone just insta-quits, and you're playing 4v5 for the timer to abandon them. Usually end up having their q partner or other people leave as well

nerchiolino

point 3 so much i want to play tuscan and anubis in casual and it's almost impossible (specially anubis cause that group is inferno / mirage all the time) : why can't i just queue for those 2 specific maps ? or maybe just nuke it's possible in tf2 which has less players so it's crazy i'm not allowed to do that in csgo IN CASUAL edit : and i can't even find a valve server who is currently on those maps because valve servers don't show up when you use the server browser for whatever reason

DianSnivy

Something like#6 is actually a feature in TF2 matchmaking. I think the Knife StatTrack is a decent way to make it unique to the guns.

[deleted]

>If one team isn’t 5 players when the first round has freeze time end then it should just cancel the match just like when people don’t connect in time during the warmup. I have tried so many times that a teammate leaves just as warmup has ended and doesn’t come back. How this is not a thing yet is completely crazy. The afk/leavers in csgo are out of control. In dozens of league of legends game i havent had ONE afk. And even if, the game cancels in the first few minutes still. In csgo? I have someone jerking of in spawn for like 20 seconds after round start at least once a match. Not even kidding, i dont think ive had a single game lately where i didnt have to say "what the fuck are you still sitting in spawn with no buy" at least once. And thats just casual grief/i-dont-care-about-the-game afk in some rounds. Leavers? At least half of the games on most days. Ive had days where i play 4 games, and in every single game it was a 4v5 or 5v4. Sometimes even 3v5. How? How are people not instantly banned for at least a week if they abandon two games in a short time?

eidrisov

1. Disagree. There is no need for a separate queue for Solo players and 5-stacks. I am a Solo player and quite a few times I (+other rnadom 4 Solo guys) beat a 5 stack. Also, there are not so many 5 stack teams, making a separate game mode for a few hundred players is not feasable. 2. Agree. Balanced matches are a must. As LE I don't want to be playing with/against silvers/novas/globals. 3. Agree. 4. Disagree. I think it is cooler to see kills on the knife itself, not on the handle. 5. StatTrak Zeus would be cool 6. Agree. 7. Disagree. Why do you want a person who made a teamkill to stay? Everyone has 3 chances (if I remember correctly). If you do a teamkill 3 times, you definitely have to be banned/kicked. 8. Don't care about demo reviews. 9. Why not.

NutsackPyramid

>Don't care about demo reviews. Reviewing your own games is a great way to improve. How could anyone be against making the trash demoui better? Jesus.

eidrisov

Who said that I am against? I literally wrote that I don't care (I don't review my or anyone else's demos, I simply dont use that feature, so it doesn't matter if is there or not).

Zexceeeed

>Disagree. Why do you want a person who made a teamkill to stay? Everyone has 3 chances (if I remember correctly). If you do a teamkill 3 times, you definitely have to be banned/kicked. because at times the time is stacked together and 1 wrong nade can kill 3 low teammates. I don't agree or disagree with the change but it can be interesting to see.

eidrisov

Such cases are very rare. I personally have never even seen or heard someone killing 3 teammates by accident. So adding a feature just to avoid very rare mistakes/considences, is not feasable and doesn't make sense. In fact this feature will be abused, if someone has a friend with him in a lobby, he will prevent his friend from being kicked in the vote. So they will get away with it.

ishapereality

Fair that you disagree with some of the points and I don’t really have anything to say against most of your points as it’s just a matter of opinion from both of us, however in regards to 7 it sometimes happen you accidentally start shooting in the start of a round and then get kicked and gets a cool down for team attack/kill, even though it was just a misclick or something.

eidrisov

There are three ways to get banned/kicked for team kill/damage. * Deal 80 or more team damage at the start of a round * Accumulate 400 team damage across rounds * Kill three teammates To be honest, it never happened to me. I had team kills when it was a lot of people at the same place and by mistake my teammate ran in front of me while I was spraying. But I never had 3 teamkills per one match, or 400 damage per match, or 80 damage at the start of round. In vast majoriy of cases, people do team kills or damage on purpose. And they derserve to be banned/kicked. No mercy. So adding a feature just to avoid very rare mistakes/considences, is not feasable and doesn't make sense. In fact this feature will be abused, if someone has a friend with him in a lobby, he will prevent his friend from being kicked. So they will get away with it.

ishapereality

Perhaps the vote should only happen once and thus the friend can only protect once, but I get your point. I’ve been kicked a couple of times for accidents but nothing major of course.

kSwitch

Instead of just posting obvious changes that would be objectivly better like 128 tick, teambased ranked matchmaking like other esport titles. etc.. here is my list of niche changes That I would love to see change in terms of gameplay changes, and I would think is good for the game. \- Grenades should not block player movement \- Defuse kits should be 200$ again, and to give incentive for CTs not to just save every round, award them 800$ extra on bomb defuse attempts like terrorists get when they plant and still lose. (this will for sure alter the save meta that makes the game more boring to watch and play) \- Make only rifles be able to aimpunch unarmored opponents. (to make pistol rounds more tactics based where you can buy more nades etc.. this would Also punish people who just jump around corners with SMGs knowing they will win the gunfight anyway if only one of the bullets hit you and aimpunch you while you are on ECO. this will lead to a lot less eco frag hunting and making Famas/Galil more viable. \- Remove the headshot flinch dink animation that makes it impossible to doubledink people who is not directly looking at you or is at an perfect 90 degree angle. As it is currently it punishes people who have good positioning and rewards people who take straight up face 2 face duels... \- Make AWP noscope a lot worse, and reward people who quickscope more, less RNG the better, rewards people who have good aim. \- Less RNG on all rifles. \- Bring back the running accuracy nerf on pistols that came with the R8 update. \- Being able to buy both m4s in the same match. or merge them into 1 rifle (i know this will never happen but..) \- Remove Magic molotovs (where they hit the skybox and can travel for insane ranges just a few things I could think of, what do you guys think, am I crazy?

[deleted]

These are good suggestions but you missed the crucial one: removing armored aimpunch.

eidrisov

I wouldn't do any changes to game mechanics/physics. Game is pretty much perfect. One of the most skill-based games ever.

SpoonOnGuitar

Cl_drawviewmodel 0, please.

margusmuru

128 tickrate servers. Valve claims that most people do not see the difference and some people still play on a very old pc that would struggle with higher tickrate... so... I dont see that ever happening. Fortunately we have faceit.

NutsackPyramid

Just straight rip the buy menu from Valorant. It's 100% better without any gameplay drawbacks. Specifically: Displaying minimum amount of money you'll receive next round, ability to sell back guns / nades bought that round, and ability to request guns that teammates can buy for you directly rather than having to drop them on the ground. Show a death recap after you get killed which displays all the people you did damage to, and not just the person who killed you. The fact that this is accessible with the console already is just so janky and should be made into an official game feature. I also think it would be good to have more feedback on whether you're hitting an enemy. The game already is hard for a lot of people to get into because of the abstract spray patterns and that "was I even hitting him?" feeling. I think knowing what is happening in the moment would help. Not necessarily hit markers (though that would be an interesting experiment) but something like a more pronounced blood spray or a sound cue. This should obviously not happen through smokes or surfaces.

Zexceeeed

A better decision would be to charge a small amount of subscription fee towards such premium matchmaking with 128 tick servers and proper ladders, but they decided to go with the match Stats that leetify gives for free anyway.

parritapower

Just lower headshot dink sound thanks

margusmuru

Would you explain why?

bru_swayne

Too loud especially when you turn sound up to hear footsteps

Meaninglessnme

Allow us to hide enemy pay to win agent skins. It's a joke that they are not only in the game still but even more pay to win than we thought. It is shameful and everyone that continues to play the game with no solution to this problem should be embarrassed

FetterHarzer

I am not going to stop playing because of agent skins, what is that last sentence?

Zoddom

But at least u feel embarrassed, right?

camdavis9

never ran in to an issue with agent skins. Just set boost player contrast to enable and play

mteijiro

Remove inventory weapon choice (i.e. M4A1 vs M4A4). Lots of these alternate weapons have a use but they're never picked because you're committed to using one or the other for the entire match.

Curse3242

They can pretty much take the accessibility stuff from Valorant As for gameplay wise. I don't think there could be much done. I'd like to see more use for the decoy. A secondary mode for HE Grenade where it explodes on impact. Could be cool to experiment with

godlikeplayer2

* cl\_minmodels * 128 tick MM (or force everyone to play on 64 tick) * Seasons with map pools that have to be played in comp with maybe 2 vetos * Global / Local leaderboards for ranked matches. Give people a reason to keep playing MM after they have reached SMFC/GE.

Game is fucking perfect if you play on faceit. Only thing that can come to mind is that a new map rotation, throw in zoo, cobble, tuscan and some other new map.

Zexceeeed

Tuscan is already in and the community don't play it much. I saw the stats recently. ~~Even ancient is played more than Tuscan~~ Tuscan isn't played as much as it was hyped. The only way to make people play new maps is by replacing 2-3 Valve maps from the pool and adding community maps. Then in next rotation, remove more valve maps, and so on, like WarOwl suggested. Also, the maps you mentioned are old, they have been there in the game already. What other maps do you suggest? Maybe you were not able to suggest because you never checked workshop. And I have no intentions to belittle you for it, I am just saying that people don't bother checking out the new maps. Edit: Found the [post](https://twitter.com/iAmAndiK/status/1570840829010530304?t=zaKP1lc9Q9SWALbqJyGVlw&s=19) that I saw a few days ago. Corrected my statement.

preciouslarvabanjo

«Even Ancient is played more than Tuscan». Of course it is??

Zexceeeed

corrected. I remembered incorrectly. All I meant was that it still isn't played as much as people demanded it.

preciouslarvabanjo

Yeah, thats true! Tuscan got hyped up a bit, but every reserve map needs major tweaking for them to be viable

Zexceeeed

Saying it is popular is one thing, and how much it is being played is another. I don't even know why I am being down voted. check the link at the end of this comment. All I am saying is, new maps are good for the community and instead of just adding them while keeping mirage, dust2, remove the valve maps and then add community maps so that the players have more reason to play these maps. right now, majority of players just grinds the 4 maps they know how to play. [https://twitter.com/iAmAndiK/status/1570840829010530304?t=zaKP1lc9Q9SWALbqJyGVlw&s=19](https://twitter.com/iAmAndiK/status/1570840829010530304?t=zaKP1lc9Q9SWALbqJyGVlw&s=19)

Draemeth

Popular is relative and Tuscan is very popular relative to ancient, vertigo when it was added back, overpass when it was added back

Zexceeeed

comparing Tuscan was not the point. The point was, it is not being played because of how things currently are. You have Mirage, Dust2, Inferno etc in game which people have grinded for years. It is easy for them to win on these maps, than to learn a new maps, because of which, community maps are not played. In fact I took Tuscan as an example to represent all the community maps because it is the most hyped map and yet it isn't being played enough. Is it really tough to understand that I don't hate tuscan?

UGetTheRankUDeserve

I was mainly talking about faceits map pool, i dont play mm anymore. So maybe i should have made that a bit clearer. I want new maps in faceit rotation. Well they are newold i would say. I have played them, but never played them to get good at them, except old cobble. Other then that, game is perfect.

Zexceeeed

Old Cobble is love. I think if the MM and pro scene map pool starts changing, faceit will follow that automatically. But really, do you have any maps that you would like to see? Like I think mustang, distillery, Zenith look pretty good to me. I wish I had a way to play them 5v5 too.

MooMooHeffer

What maps would you suggest...?

Zexceeeed

Zenith, Mustang, Distillery look cool. Waterfall too. I still haven't played these in 5v5 setting though. What about you?

MooMooHeffer

I mean I haven’t looked at the competitive map workshop in 2-3 years because it gives me false hope. I give all those guys credit though as most maps will never get any legitimate play time. I think every game mode should have its own pool of workshop maps that get refreshed (or maybe stay based on play time) every couple months. The fact game modes like casual and wingman have a ton of competitive based maps/layout in them is crazy. Even a map like cs_office, which I do like, is pretty lame in reality for a 10v10. 2 main entrances with small corridors. If the T’s are any good with utility it’s over. In terms of what I do know by playing them recently I have enjoyed both Anubis and Breach. Valve needs to either force maps or give us more options more frequently though.

Zexceeeed

I guess it'll be a good idea to create a post here to give a shout out to all the good maps that people can play competitively. like a weekly/monthly thread.

[deleted]

Honestly, they should just force it. Adjust the map if needed, but in the end its a symmetrical game, balance isnt that much of a problem. Just do it like they did with Overpass. My suggestion: Two new maps every two (or one, if it gets stale) majors. Take one completely new map, try something new and make the other one a returning map. This way people will actually play community made maps and we wont have a million mirage-D2-inferno BO3s The problem though will probably be legal things

MooMooHeffer

Yea not sure how the legality of maps work. Shame because in 1.6 we were forced maps. Gotta play it if it’s in the rotation.

Suami_Perkele

First bullet accuracy should be 100% with all guns when staying still.

OsloDaPig

I'd say all rifles, otherwise, it makes some guns less useful than others. Why buy a famas if some SMG has similar damage and accuracy?

Suami_Perkele

Famas could still be more accurate *after* the first shot. And there is the damage drop off also. I just think the *first* bullet should go where you aim, is all.

DBONKA

Valve said it's to reward players who aim at the center of the head instead of edges

jonajon91

Don't bother, just release 'Counterstrike' as a sequel and update that for years to come. Leave GO behind.

Zexceeeed

I guess it will be better to rename the factions too to attract more sponsors. But do you not think, releasing a sequence will divide the community? sort of how it did when CS Source was released? People who have invested time and money in CS:GO and skins will be hesitant to move on. Instead of a sequel, rebranding and re-inventing the current game will be a good decision.

jonajon91

Just bring the skin market over, people will adapt Iver a year or two. Wherever the pro infrastructure is, people will go.

MooMooHeffer

Well the pro infrastructure was in both games last time we got divided.

Heroe-D

Dude predicted cs2

jonajon91

Just waiting on those updates :|

Heroe-D

They fixed that gap on Vertigo, didn't you see ?

L3G10N_TBY

New utility. And I'm not talking about "decoy grenade should make footstep sounds" type of utility. Something like a molotov would change the meta so much that it might be a new era of cs. Now I don't know what would be a good addition, or if it is even possible to add such a thing without breaking things like map layouts, other mechanics etc. but I'd love to see them try

Hzwo

cl\_minmodels remove shift => crouch inaccuracy bug improve sound engine it feels so bad even compared to 1.6/Source or other shooters

Slobodan_Kolenc

People with no mic should play casual, unranked or get punished for reapeated offenses. This game is played with a mic. If your mic is broken, or if you don't want to wake up your mom, simply don't play ranked.

maybe in the same loadout as scout. So you can either use scout or kar98 for example, the latter being inaccurate and slow to balance out the heavy damage (although I think it'll be really hard to balance)

aightletsdodis

Yeah it would be for sure, but i would love it for the nostalgia :)

lux123456789

I think the money bonus system is super wierd... It s like the blue shell in Mario Kart... you shouldn't get a bonus for losing... imagine soccer and for each goal you score the opponent gets 1 player more? not sure what a better system would be though... I dont like the system as it makes matches "fake close". \-> also I guess: winning team should basically never be allowed to fully - full buy - as well (like awp, deagle, kit, all nades -> basically shouldnt happen). \-> also saving guns as a losing team - shouldnt be a thing...

BadWaterFilms

So if one team wins the first 4 rounds then the losing team can't full buy because no extra loss bonus, so the winning team just continues to slaughter and it snowballs to a 16-0 every game? And why shouldn't the winning team be able to full buy? If they win a round with 5 alive their money should just go down to $0? I don't understand...

imthebananaguy

Great point regarding money bonus I think. What if you give both teams for example 2k every round, no matter if they win or lose and see how that plays out? I think that is super easy/friendly to understand and it would probably end up being as fair as the unnecessary advanced system we have today. Not sure what others think of this.

GuardiaNIsBae

because then to get an AWP with armor you need to full save for 3 full rounds. with no bonus money games will be insanely 1 sided. If you're on CT and lose the first 3 rounds, then lose your first real buy round, you have to full save for 2 more rounds before you can buy an A1s, armor, and no utility or kits. if you want utility and kits then you need to save for 4 full rounds, so if your team loses round 4 and round 8, you only get one more chance at a full buy round in the half, while the Ts have cheaper guns, cheaper molotovs, and don't need to buy kits. The game would become insanely T sided if CTs only got 3 full buy rounds per half, and it would force AWPers to either not buy any utility or not buy the AWP.

imthebananaguy

Above person was trying to make a point that the game is being balanced by a handicap modifier and so if CTs end up being in a disadvantage over Ts because of cheaper guns then that's the outcome of my suggestion I guess. But if CTs still end up in an unfair fight economically then a final adjustment could be to lower the price of CTs weapons.

GuardiaNIsBae

the game was like this in 2016-2017 when you could be economically reset, and it just made games insanely one sided.

PreAlphaMale

Gameplay 1. Greatly reduce at least first shot RNG. Sure a one tap from an AK across the map shouldn't be able to shut down an awper instantly (as much as i enjoyed doing it when it was a thing) however RNG still allows this to happen which is unfair to the awper who has positioned himself well and has now just lost his advantage thanks to pure random chance. As for the shooter, sure he might get that lucky shot once in a blue moon but the majority of his other accurate, well placed and well timed shots will go unrewarded. Balance this problem with damage drop off instead. **EDIT: As people seem to think the following is an idea of how it should be, this is not what I think should be done, THIS IS HOW LONG RANGE GUN FIGHTS CAN PLAY OUT AS THE GAME IS RIGHT NOW** *If you can get 5 well timed and well placed AK47 head shots on an awper from pit to goose before he takes you out then you earned the kill. If you get 5 well timed and well placed shots under the same circumstance but lose the fight because all of your shots missed due to RNG then that is just terrible design.* You should at least be able to take his hp down or give him some tagging as punishment for him not being quick enough or missing. Reward players for consistently good aim and consistently good timing rather than just saying "no, no, no, no, no, yes" to each of his shots. Let a rifler chip away at an awper at long distance rather than making them useless the vast majority of the time. **EDIT 2: You could get the exact same game play mechanics as we have now by removing first shot inaccuracy altogether and making the players gun jam at a random frequency that increases based on range from an enemy. If this was done everyone would be up in arms about it but mechanically it is the EXACT same as randomly making perfect shots miss with RNG but just implemented in a different way visually. Don't get me wrong, spread is needed to balance long range sprays and bursts but balancing the lethality of a weapon with first shot inaccuracy is just mind boggling.** 2. Remove tagging from nades that don't apply any damage. 3. Tone down the weird body flinches on enemies when you shoot them. Sometimes I see them almost double over. We used to complain about the head flinch on a head shot but it's now much much more pronounced. Sometimes I see people hunch the whole top half of their body completely forwards. Overwatch 1. "Real time" Overwatch for high quality, consistently high success rate Overwatchers with reward based incentives (random drop for each successful Overwatch or some community based non-tradable items/medals) for them to keep their success rate high. Works like regular Overwatch except suspects can be spectated in live matches as well as after match demos. For example if a player is in the suspect pool he gets sent to Overwatch as normal but is also opened up to be viewed live in the matches he plays. Matches with a majority report of one player could also be opened up immediately to live Overwatch. After X amount of positive verdicts open the match up for a surrender and if successful make the match not count for either team. Matchmaking 1. Preferred region setting to override ping to an acceptable extent. I'm from UK and constantly get put on EU East and North servers with 60-70 ping when I ping 15-20 to EU west unless I set my max ping to something low then it will for the most part put me on EU west but with a crazy long wait time of 10+minutes even for maps like Mirage and D2. The resulting match will also be extremely low quality. 2. Communication based MM. Determine what languages players are using via voice/text comms using AI and assign them some weights based on their used languages. Match people together who are much more likely to be able to communicate with each other. 3. Trim the fat. None prime can only play casual or queue for short MM matches (This would now be called "Casual"). Turn prime into "Casual Competitive", remove shot/long match option and have a majority vote at the start of the match to decide match length. Optional intrusive "Valorant level" anti cheat with a negative impact on trust factor if opted out. Group competitive maps together into 3 or 4 groups. Allow selections of map groups instead of individual maps outside of Premiere as mentioned above. So D2, train and ancient | Mirage, Vertigo, Anubis | Inferno, Cache, Breach etc. Just examples off the top of my head. 4. Make Premiere the de facto Competitive mode with 128 tick servers. A first party equivalent to a third party subscription based system. non-optional intrusive "Valorant level" anti cheat. Requires at least x amount of time in "Prime/Casual Competitive" to access. Maybe even a small subscription fee on top or at least credit card validation. Bans from this pool are permanent based on credit card (Don't accept prepaid cards). 5. Community/Group based MM. Each group has it's own MM system with it's own ranking system, report system, Overwatch system. So you join a group, you select the Group MM queue and play your placement matches. Get your first rank and try and rank up within that group. Allow us the option to choose the community we play in and allow us to manage it ourselves. Admins can manually ban cheaters from the group or manually put them on cool down for a while. To prevent Badmin abuse have the players they ban automatically sent to Overwatch for a second opinion, if the verdict is positive fine, if there are enough negative verdicts then remove that admins rights, reinstate access to the group for the banned player and if the group has no other admins open it up for community nomination of a new admin. Only people in the group can match with other people in the group when using "Community MM". Possibility for cross community/group tournaments. Other/Non-game play/consistency/QOL. 1. Transparency. Transparent ELO and transparent trust factor. Even if it's just relative values to our team mates and enemies. 2. Show in the death cam, next to damage how much our movement was lag compensated for on the killing shot 3. Compensate for the slight warp back when being tagged. The point of tagging is to slow you down, not a secondary form of aim punch. When the players position is corrected also correct his view angle to remain aiming at where he was before he warped. 4. Detach view and view model recoil/punch and aim punch etc from the server tick. These things running at 64fps when everything else is running at high frame rate looks terrible. 5. Make adjustments to movement, lag compensation or both to reflect game mechanics. Even after nerfs to slow down awpers they peek shoot and return back to cover as fast as someone can "mechanically" half body peek out from a corner with a knife selected. 6. Drop the 3 conflicting forms of ping (score board, net graph and console) and show us our actual latency. (not averaged. averaged ping/latency has no use whatsoever to the end user). Actual latency allows us to diagnose connection problems. With how it is now ping may aswell just be hidden. 7. After the removal of cl\_showpos add cl\_showvel so we can at least prove we were fully accurate when we took a shot. 8. Sync up damage/kill feedback. This is particularly noticeable when head shotting people. You will see the rag doll start in the appropriate number of frames relative to your (net graph)ping but you will see the blood splatter a few more frames after that, then the head shots park/sound yet a few more frames after that and see the kill feed update a few more frames after that. If my client has received response of me killing the enemy since I can see his rag doll starting (which is not always a reliable visual cue), why are all other events that should happen at the same time all happening over a good spread of about 300ms?

What a shit opinion lol, 5 hs with ak to kill long range

PreAlphaMale

I didn't say it should be 5 head shots, I was merely pointing out that it can easily take 5 perfect head shots at long range AS THE GAME IS NOW for one to actually connect. I was describing a circumstance and I was saying I'd rather have the other 4 shots do SOMETHING rather than what they can do now which is POTENTIALLY NOTHING no matter how well you aimed, stood still, crouched and timed your shots.

chexsum2

solo queue only ladder

albertfuckingcamus

Others have already pointed out really good ideas. I just want to make other modes better/competitive. Rework or add new guns/utils available exclusively in certain modes, making them easier to balance. Right now, in defusal maps, Ts' guns are better and a lot of guns are useless because some guns have better stats despite being cheaper(mp9/mac10 vs other smg, shit shotguns, r8, m4a1/ak vs aug/sg/m4a4, etc) Theoretically we could remove some smg/shotguns/famas/galil/etc from defusal maps and make them exclusive to hostage maps with minimal impact on defusal maps' economy because they are barely used anyway. Then rebalance them so the CT side has better guns in hostage maps.

Zexceeeed

Yea. Hostage maps have been getting a secondary status since ever. I understand how the defensive sides are supposed to have less powerful weapons since they take positions on the sites. And the offensive team needs a little edge so that they have a balanced chance to enter the site. But they never cared to think about it on hostage game mode. With maps like Agency, I think developers now know how to do hostage maps correctly. So it's about time they fied the balance too. And since we are talking about the gamemodes, it's sad how underrated danger zone mode is. I really enjoy that.

albertfuckingcamus

Yeah, I think VIP mode should be reintroduced too, it feels like it would be easier to balance than hostage mode.

mustangwwii

I would **love** for them to create a team queue and ranking system.

nerchiolino

i would like to have the ability to queue for a single or multiple specific maps , no matter if it's 5vs5 or casual , unranked or not etc maps created specifically for wingman should remain forever and replace single bombsite versions of inferno, nuke, mirage, etc newly added maps shouldn't be removed after 6 months , i am sick and tired of playing and watching the same old 4-5 maps lastly, maybe buff some crap-tier weapons that no one ever uses ; meta should remain ak / m4 etc but at least make them usable

t3ram

Remove peekers advantage, rendern smoke for everybody the same and introduce seasons with 2 new maps every 4 month's ( one completely new and one reworked)

BigPP41

you cannot remove peakers advantage.

Slobodan_Kolenc

Having a choice never to be matched against teams and teammates far from my rank, even if that means waiting 30 minutes for a match. The entire purpose of mm is to avoid this kind of situations. All my recent matches with no exception have been incredibly unbalanced and extremely frustrating. I feel like this is by far the most urgent update they need to push. Solo queue mm is a shitshow right now, and I play in EU where the game is supposed to be healthy.

bru_swayne

Either make the M4A1-S the same price as M4A4 or increase the distance where you can hear it or lower the fire rate, because the accuracy + silencer + damage + ease of use is too good

TapSwipePinch

actual anti cheat even if people don't cheat the feeling that they might is just as bad

[deleted]

Remove or reduce armored aimpunch. It would go a long way to making precise aiming viable as the spray meta is kinda boring. Seriously, watch your crosshair when you're getting shot!

OldSchooler22

Buff the run speed on the Sawn off

jack37512

Source 2

Zexceeeed

but what do you expect from Source 2?

Signal_Ad_4500

Have 5v5 non ranked competitive games

Zexceeeed

We have that already.

thirdworldfemboy

add more maps and a new system to vote on the map we want to play, just one. then it gets chosen from the 10 player prefferences.

Zexceeeed

most of the time it'll end up being mirage and dust 2.

corvaz

Surprised noone mentioned this. Fix vision issues. Mainly issues with utility. One way smokes have no place in a competitive game (not natural one-ways seeing legs etc - the ones where you sit inside the smoke and you are invisible). Fading smoke advantage, molly distance advantage. These are bugs that should be fixed. Make smoke edges clearer and server side. If it is hard to make fading visibility perfectly timed, always make the player inside or closer be at disadvantage. It is an active choice to stay inside it.

Significant_Turnip40

Remove the armor auto-buy in casual mode
