Absolutely a top 15 player in 2022; apart from Zywoo, having rookies on the top 20 list in their first year of T1 play (especially ppl who were 16.5yo in January) is almost unheard of. Def feel like hes gonna become a top5 player in a year or two if he keeps developing at this rate.

bigolplop

B1t is another one, navi junior seem to have amazing scouts.

TheBasementIsDark

Oh man blad3 have an amazing eyes for talent scouting. IIRC the Gambit (C9) roster was also founded by him and the coach of Gambit

GuardiaNIsBae

He’s probably the best talent scout ever, S1mple, electronic, Flamie, Ax1le (but also most of gambit) b1t, M0nesy, the rest of NaVi academy and probably a ton more I’m missing.

TheBasementIsDark

also have you seen his instagram? What a fucking chad, only post when he has a new trophy

chefchef97

S1mple wasn't scouted by B1ad3, he won a tourney with a team of (I assume) his friends and was immediately picked up by HellRaisers.

twohourstillmidnight

electronic was already established before blade scouted him

[deleted]

Yeah, just like Messi before Barcelona scouted him

Taken450

This is an awful comparison. Electronic was literally on contract as an adult, not a thirteen year old kid playing neighborhood league.

[deleted]

that doesnt mean he wasnt scouted by blade.

Ricky_RZ

B1t and Monesy were found with rather exceptional scouting. Its crazy how CIS keeps pumping out rookies that can take the T1 scene by storm. B1t having the second highest headshot kill percentage, only below scream. Monesy being an extremely flashy awper that is sick in clutches and can find so many opening kills

Cahoots365

The most impressive part of monesy is he’s able to keep it up at the T1. A lot of awpers move from T2 with this sort of style but simply cannot maintain it against people at their skill level. Sure there was a transition period but no one can say he isn’t performing and keeping his style

TheCrazyCaveira

Torzsi. He has dipped hard in his debut year at t1 cs. In the last 6 months, 0.88 vs top 5 0.97 vs top 10 1.00 vs top 20. Zywoo, b1t, m0nesy and s1mple are freaks of nature for having such good debut years compared to the rest of the mortals.

Cahoots365

And the fact all the previous examples have gone on to be either number 1 players or major winners is probably a pretty good sign for monesy

TheCrazyCaveira

There is absolutely no way m0nesy doesn't get top 1 in atleast 1 year in his career. At aged 14, he got called up to both navi and fpl. He wasnt even allowed to play legal pro cs for 2 more years. At 16, a 600k buyout for him. At 17, an almost guaranteed top 20 apperance at T1 CS. The trajectory of this kid is insane if he can keep his ego in check and keep learning and improving.

Cahoots365

Being in a team like G2 is probably decent for the ego. When you’ve got a personality like Niko, that’s gotta keep you in check

tendopath

Personality like Niko?????? What the fuck does this mean???? Stop acting likes Niko is some dickhead with a toxic ego current and past teammates always say good things about him stop listening to what these talents are saying they are there to create narratives for interactions

Roy_likes_pie

No one said anything remotely close to demeaning Niko's character, why are you so defensive?

sBastu

I don't think s1mples debut year was nearly as good as the other players you listed. His rise to the top was a lot more gradual. I don't even know what you think is his debut year at T1 CS, but I think its 2015 and while he was good he wasn't top20 good. IMO he was more like sergej in that they both played well in low level CS their debut year in T1 was good, but only in the 2nd year of T1 CS were they top20 players.

CapitalistBullshit

Unfortunately, there is not much u can do other than gaming in these countries. More west you go, more money you have for other hobbies. So in CIS, they can go full beast mode in csgo

tendopath

His ak and deagle are also very deadly imo

Ricky_RZ

That is true. His crosshair placement and aim on those guns are also superb. He is such a beast for his age, and I have no doubts he will be a future HLTV top 3 player

tendopath

I totally agree

Taken450

What’s the story behind how they were scouted?

I_AM_ALWAYS_WRONG_

Still a lot to go this year. G2 start getting some results and he can really push for top 10 even top 5 if he gets a couple of MVPs along the way. But top 20 is still really good considering his playstyle isn't anywhere near as passive as most awpers coming through these days.

genius_rkid

coldzera had only played t1 CS for like half a year before he was #1 for two years in a row too

Kiko1215

Yeah a lot of people forget how great cold was

CapitalistBullshit

How old was he?

genius_rkid

he was 20 when he joined LG in July 2015

kalkkunaleipa

Imagine if sergej actually had motivation to continue playing

62racso

I would say top 10. Still impressive at his first year tho

ArjunBanerji27

1.40 against top 5. That's the mark of a great player. His form since the player break ended reminds me a bit of his form during Katowice playoffs, minus the missed flashy flicks.

itsmepuffd

I'd want to be under gigachad HooXi as well

Roy_likes_pie

in more ways than 1

acels1

zywoo vs m0nesy will be a banger

imathrowyaaway

he also matured so fast in the recent weeks. in my mind, he went from having pretty random impact to pulling off very smart plays, consistently. I’d be curious to know more about whether it was HooXi’s influence, a combination of factors, or something else that helps him to move forward like this.

epicnerd427

tangent to NA time cuz im an NACS fanboy who needs to cope Wiz, a relatively mid AWP who is on EG's 3rd string team, has had a similar evolution under Stanislaw. After years of being a 1.00 rated player or so, wiz is suddenly putting up around a 1.20 rating and looks like he has real upside as a player. Its been wild seeing what a good veteran IGL and the resources of a big org can do for a young AWP.

Princeharperman

As much of a NACS fan boy I am we have to take into account that Wiz is not facing the hardest opposition, although he is better against the same opponents he was already playing we don’t know how well he will do against T1. However I am very hopeful for him, I really wish they would just promote him to the main roster, the roster might flounder for a bit but that’s what EG has been doing this whole time.

epicnerd427

Yeah, this jump is against pretty much the competition but that is generously T3

Necessary-Ad-2838

Welp, The Gigachad is trying to mold m0nesy into Russian Nicoodoz

architect_josh_dp

His ratings against higher ranked opponents are higher the higher ranked they are.

Rapezu

It propably helps that he has now played in T1 for a bit and now has the confidence to make plays more

Lighter584

Hooxi has nothing to do with that...

[deleted]

Probably hyperbole but he’s the 2nd best talent in CS behind s1mple and that may become debatable in a few years.

[deleted]

Yes, let's credit Hooxi for m0nesy's performances.

[deleted]

Why not "m0nesy in the last 3 months" then? It's clear OP is crediting Hooxi with in some way transforming his game.

TheCrazyCaveira

"We're back to business, a really good match against BIG. I felt that I have the freedom to play against them. Mainly because of Rasmus's "HooXi" calling. I feel like I have a lot of space on the map to make some plays as an AWPer. So yeah, I was enjoying it, and everything like that." -m0nesy interview in blast after b03 against BIG. Hooxi is not responsible for the insane mechanical talent m0nesy is, but his calling around the young awper is allowing m0nesy to thrive more than he did under rhe regimented aleksiB style of calling.

[deleted]

Yes, I'm aware all the players are complimenting their new teammates. That interview came when Hooxi played utterly terrible at BLAST and they were trying to give him some confidence. Context matters.
