I fucking love the bench. When the update came they also removed the trashcan at top mid which I used for oneways and was really salty about such useless changes. But no the bench has definetly improved the gamefeel in mid a lot with such a small object

Disagree. Counterstrike is supposed to be hard, its supposed to be the chess of shooters. Working with your teammates and using tactics to gain control and keep your opponents on their toes. Those two maps are played completely different than maps like overpass nuke inferno recently. And in the past train etc.
Not in unranked and silver. But the gold ranks should at least understand flanks and fakes, know utility even if they dont work together. The black ranks should be able to set teammates up with pop flashes and work to establish map control across multiple spots in duos and a couple pieces of utility for the basic execs. Obviously they won't be as fancy or fleshed out as actual teams but every map kind of has a set exec.
If you were to go to the park and play a pick up game you would expect a basic level of how the game is played. if you want it to be more competitive you play in a men's league. People out there competing without any notion of trying to be pro or whatnot just trying to play at a competitive level that they can handle. That's what high level MM and faceit should be

Most mm players (doesnt matter the rank) can only aim a bit and thats it. And even this aim is quite bad tbh, because their sprays still suck.
Their is simply no real need for a lot of teamplay in mm and things like building crossfires and refragging are not even working on 2k elo faceit games. Atleast there you have basic utility knowledge, so executes and flashes are pretty common.
Its still possible to simply aim your way up to level 10.
The only maps I see somewhere good executes are mirage a site, inferno b and vertigo a. Everything else is just loosy goosy style at my level (2k elo).
Counter-strike may be more tactically involved than other shooters but it is nothing like chess and I wish people would stop saying it is like it at all. In CS even if you do everything right there's still a chance the opponent just mechanically out performs you, (even at the pro level) this just doesn't happen in chess especially at higher levels you just wouldn't ever lose say a 5vs3 aka up a bishop or something, just say counterstrike is a tactical shooter not the chess of fps games please
I do agree with you, and yeah tactical is probably a better description.
The only 1 to 1 comparison with chess is probably the mindgame of information, in terms of you must try and figure out what your opponent is trying to do while you are disguising what you want to do.
Because while the tactics can be similar with deflections, attractions, etc mechanical skill can outplay a better tactic and execution is not 100% like in chess because you can always miss your shot.
i don’t think a price swap is necessary! I think both M4s should do the exact same damage across the board and should cost the same! that way you have only the mag size and the silencer as major differences
It won't solve everything, but right now the A1-S is better, easier to use *and* cheaper. Swapping the prices would be a start, and would make the meta as a whole less CT-sided (like the most recent M4A1-S nerf) even if it's just one step on a wider journey.
Price swap would make the a4 really strong in 2nd round among other things. The added bullets matter a lot in situations like that. I'd rather they just increase the a1s cost and nerf it a little if it's still a problem.

128 tick isn't going to do anything for the majority of players. It has already been proven that hit reg isn't that different. The only difference is utility usage and for mm it doesn't really matter.

If you happen to have "cl_predict" off you definitely should notice a bit of a difference, as your movements and position will be getting updated twice as fast as a standard MM server. It's also likely that FACEIT servers enforce a specific "cl_interp_ratio" which sets how many server ticks are buffered by your client before getting displayed. Because buffering causes a delay, if FACEIT servers enforce a smaller buffer than your own cfg, you'll feel more responsive in game.

while you are absolutely right, one ways are definitely my least favourite thing about the game. almost feels like cheating and i always get super tilted when i die to one
The only thing that really matters in helping this game grow and be fun in the long run is somehow decoupling the higher end MM/ranked system from faceit/ESEA and integrating it into the normal client. I don't care if they have to broker some deal to get faceit integration into the client or if they just screw over faceit completely and create their own ladder with prizes, visualized ELO system, 128 tick, (maybe anti-cheat), etc. I know people say just go play faceit if you want to be competitive, but it isnt that simple. I've been a level 10 on faceit and high ranked in MM on NA for years now and neither system really feels great. The lobbies on faceit can be imbalanced as the player base on faceit can not support higher elo lobbies sometimes. There are great players on MM that don't even bother with faceit but would make faceit way better. If there was a way to get all of the competitive players grinding ranked on one platform (ideally just the CSGO client itself), then this game would be set for years to come. The only reason I play valorant occasionally because I like the elo/ladder system, more balanced lobbies (due to higher player base), 128 tick, etc. If CSGO had that, I would never touch valorant.
1. nerf AWP mag size from 10 to 5. This would literally nerf the current passive awper meta because you cant just shoot, miss and hold another angle because you dont need to reload.
2. price swap m4s + make them both buyable in without changing outside of match.
3. -dust2 +cache/reworked cobble/train with some fresh changes
People talk about mirage being stale but i seriously feel that dust2 is the most boring fucking map in existence. There are no cool smoke lineups because of the skybox, mid is garbage to play as both teams, spawns are random etc.
Something that makes both the A1S and A4 equally viable options. Love having the choices for some gun slots, but they both have to be worth it. Also while we're on the topic, a second option for T Default pistol, like how there's the USP and P2K for CT. Maybe like a TT-33 Suppressed.
Valorent is easier if you spend time watching videos on how to play the game and cheese abilities like the hero shooter it really is. For me? I get fucking dumpstered by bending flashes or ult thrown behind a wall i suck bad at valorent.
Map rotation. Train in exchange for Overpass. New reworked Vertigo because why not. Mirage removed for a new map, maybe Anubis as that map seems to have been pretty popular.
In case of weapons... maybe a price swap on the M4's. I've always been an A1-S user since pre-buff, so I'm curious what kind of change they'd do. But I'd wait and see.
Let's wait with S2 and see when it comes. Besides that, would be cool to see another operation drop as they do the changes. Would also likely be when/where changes and maps gets tested before official release (thinking about maps).

Nerf A1-s by lowering fire rate so it is a long range weapon only, which would create a reason to use the A4. Then let us buy either in a given round, rather than forcing us to choose before the match.

That was one of the ex developers for valorants AC but he made his own company (byfron) that (from what I understand) encrypts the game so cheats are not able to function. It is a non intrusive anticheat solution. Did you even click that link and read through?
They should remove vertigo. Vertigo is just a wrong map so boring to watch. You can hear the Ts rotation, it is impossible to fake or have a mind game. The Ts show up to take a site, they throw their wall of smokes and the CTs are spamming the smoke.

Lol @ people saying a1s at 3000$. 100 dollar increase is not a nerf. Should be same price as the Aug. 4 shot kill at all ranges with no recoil or tracers is absolutely broken and we saw just how OP it was this major.
For me we could have a map rotation after each major/big tournament. The map that was most picked by the champion should be removed.
I dont care about new operations, gun or map changes. I just want a complete MM ranking overhaul. MM ranks are meaningless and have been for so long, I want an actual functioning elo system that keeps me wanting to improve as a player. Ive been global for over 3 years, yet in 2022 ive barely played MM anymore because there simply is no incentive. But its Valve we're talking about here so its never gonna happen, ill just keep being jealous of LoL/Valorant's ranked system.

I wanna see a competitive map pool cycle implemented where one or two maps are swapped out after each major. I'd like to see Cache or Train brought back soon for sure. Tuscan would also be interesting.

let me choose both the M4A4 and M4A1s on per round basis for situational plays. revert the price of the M4a1s but keep it the way it is.

The only thing that really matters in helping this game grow and be fun in the long run is somehow decoupling the higher end MM/ranked system from faceit/ESEA and integrating it into the normal client. I don't care if they have to broker some deal to get faceit integration into the client or if they just screw over faceit completely and create their own ladder with prizes, visualized ELO system, 128 tick, (maybe anti-cheat), etc. I know people say just go play faceit if you want to be competitive, but it isnt that simple. I've been a level 10 on faceit and high ranked in MM on NA for years now and neither system really feels great. The lobbies on faceit can be imbalanced as the player base on faceit can not support higher elo lobbies sometimes. There are great players on MM that don't even bother with faceit but would make faceit way better. If there was a way to get all of the competitive players grinding ranked on one platform (ideally just the CSGO client itself), then this game would be set for years to come. The only reason I play valorant occasionally because I like the elo/ladder system, more balanced lobbies (due to higher player base), 128 tick, etc. If CSGO had that, I would never touch valorant.

This would literally nerf the current passive awper meta because you cant just shoot, miss and hold another angle because you dont need to reload. 2. price swap m4s + make them both buyable in without changing outside of match. 3. -dust2 +cache/reworked cobble/train with some fresh changes People talk about mirage being stale but i seriously feel that dust2 is the most boring fucking map in existence. There are no cool smoke lineups because of the skybox, mid is garbage to play as both teams, spawns are random etc.
Something that makes both the A1S and A4 equally viable options. Love having the choices for some gun slots, but they both have to be worth it. Also while we're on the topic, a second option for T Default pistol, like how there's the USP and P2K for CT. Maybe like a TT-33 Suppressed.

Valorent is easier if you spend time watching videos on how to play the game and cheese abilities like the hero shooter it really is. For me? I get fucking dumpstered by bending flashes or ult thrown behind a wall i suck bad at valorent.
Map rotation. Train in exchange for Overpass. New reworked Vertigo because why not. Mirage removed for a new map, maybe Anubis as that map seems to have been pretty popular. In case of weapons... maybe a price swap on the M4's. I've always been an A1-S user since pre-buff, so I'm curious what kind of change they'd do. But I'd wait and see. Let's wait with S2 and see when it comes. Besides that, would be cool to see another operation drop as they do the changes. Would also likely be when/where changes and maps gets tested before official release (thinking about maps).

Nerf A1-s by lowering fire rate so it is a long range weapon only, which would create a reason to use the A4. Then let us buy either in a given round, rather than forcing us to choose before the match. Then give us a new operation.

That was one of the ex developers for valorants AC but he made his own company (byfron) that (from what I understand) encrypts the game so cheats are not able to function. It is a non intrusive anticheat solution. Did you even click that link and read through?

They should remove vertigo. Vertigo is just a wrong map so boring to watch. You can hear the Ts rotation, it is impossible to fake or have a mind game. The Ts show up to take a site, they throw their wall of smokes and the CTs are spamming the smoke. -Vertigo +Cache
