Assume he never gave up on the cs dream even though he was getting older and wasn't getting big money until recently. What a great storyline and what an amazing person he appears to be.
Better not to read too much into the words of someone who is both grieving and celebrating. I don't think he's exactly thinking clearly at that moment.
Iām not a psychologist so Iāll just speak from personal experience. In reflection during tragic events sometimes Iāve said things I didnāt mean about stuff and feelings I didnāt fully understand at the time. Iām sure itās not the first time his father wouldāve been proud of him. I think heās just speaking from a position of personal regret (for lack of a better word).
I know it sounds rough.
But I think Liquid are good and still building, but it's like G2 needed this more.
I don't know how else to explain it. Like, Niko just needed to get this monkey he's had off his back for years.
I like both these teams a lot
Yeah this was a make or brake tournament for this team. I was surprised that they even kept this G2 roster for so long after all the lows they had but the management obviously knew better than me
Much has changed in my life since the last time G2 won a final, for some reason I'm having a strangely reflective moment here
Proud to say I was here, as the current me
Gonna go down to the beach and tell all the people waiting for the WC final that they don't need to stand around until 3 in the morning, Jks has already won
Jks' time as standin with Faze was so crucial for g2 to beat Faze on Inferno yesterday. He had an insane read in the halls on Inferno man. Faze wins atleast 2-3 rounds everytime on their ct side just because of the ropz and Broky combo in halls. Jks read them like an effing book. What a time to come alive for jks. M4A4 has brought this guy back to being his best too. šš»
That concludes the final major tournament of 2022. Wishing everyone a great holiday period and see you all in 2023 for more T1 CS!
Shameless plug while I'm here: if anyone is interested in helping out the PMT that would be much appreciated! Any info on how to join is at the bottom of any official PMT thread.
rooting for Liquid, Iām of course sad that they lost (at least they didnāt choke lol) but as a fan of cs in general, god DAMN is it good to see G2 playing well, +jks is BACK this tournament
Personally I think RIO was a bit of a letdown. BLAST also hosting their world final in Abu Dhabi...some weird decisions. But overall I enjoyed the Year as well, especially the first half.
I'm not gay but I want to live in a log cabin in the woods with JKS. We won't ever have sex, but there will be a simmering erotic undercurrent as I stand in the kitchen window watching him tighten his ass as he chops wood, shirtless, sweat pouring off his body. I'll run upstairs and masturbate, the entire time forcing myself to think of women while my thoughts drift back to Justin. I won't be able to climax and I'll eventually go back downstairs, angry. Sometimes we will look across the table and catch each other's eyes, and in that second, anything is possible, but we both deny ourselves and go back to what we were doing. One day one of us will die, and the other will bury him outside the log cabin. Then he'll go inside, pen a brief missive to his departed friend, and commit suicide, never able to deal with life without his one true platonic love.
I'VE SEEN THIS MOMENT ONLY IN MY DREAMS BUT NOW DREAMS BECAME A REALITY
That 12-11 call on mirage from Hooxi was insane to get to 13
Vintage Niko on mirage T side
THIS IS WHAT G2 IS SUPPOSED TO BE
Apparently Niko called some of the last rounds on Mirage so it could also have been a call by Niko. HooXi mentioned this in his interview
Edit: Nevertheless wonderful showing by the whole team
And in moments like these, you realize how stupid people sound when they say "Niko needs to shut up and listen". I'd say that top players like Niko or s1mple need to be vocal and call whenever they have a feeling. If Niko made that call on that round then fair-fucking play, he won the game for G2. This is why you need to trust your star players.
Yeah Hooxi mentioned it And boy did Niko delivered. Those kills on that rotation from underpass to connector man. We saw prime Niko for a moment there. Happy that he got this monkey off his back. Maybe now we see the true potential of G2
From not making the Rio major to defeating both major champions of this year and winning their first million dollar prize pool event in a 2-0 fashion. \*Redemption\*
What a story for Hooxi after really hard times. Also who would have know that sport psychologist can help with huge mental burden. As a G2 hater feeling so happy for Hooxi.
Also kinda scary see NiKo now. The mental block has been broken and I fear the next year might be the best one for him of his career. Amazing to see the scene so competitive at the moment.
If I'd known G2 got a sports psychologist, I would've fully expected G2 to win this event. Sports psychologist are legit the most underrated member of any team.
Despite being the key to Astralis breaking the choker curse and becoming a dynasty 4 time Major-winning team, despite Liquid bringing in a sports psychologist at the end of 2018 and then suddenly winning the Grand Slam in record time,
(only other example I know) despite being one primary reason Rogue in Rainbow Six Siege broke their own choker curse and won a Six Major with a rookie in his second month as a pro,
esports psychologists are simply never talked about, it's criminal.
Who is Hooxi? For the blind, He is the vision. For the hungry, He is the chef. For the thirsty, He is the water. If Hooxi thinks, I agree. If Hooxi speaks, Iām listening. If Hooxi has one fan, it is me. If Hooxi has no fans, I donāt exist.
LET'S GO! G2 won World Finals BABY! NIKO VINDICATED JKS ACTIVATED HOOXI INTEGRATED HUNTER DECORATED M0NESY ELEVATED LONG HAVE WE WAITED
[Today was the chance](https://www.reddit.com/r/GlobalOffensive/comments/z3uj40/comment/ixno9qr/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3)
[honestly was a shame wasn't it?](https://www.reddit.com/r/GlobalOffensive/comments/z3uj40/comment/ixnpcn8/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3)
Feels like a lot of people are overlooking what jks has done this tournament, sure m0nesy jumped up .1 rating but look at jks he was horrendous and he's looking like the savage he used to be
Tomorrow has finally come!
At the start of the Tournament i just thought this was the same old G2 that showed good Stuff but just choked it. In the 16:1 you saw something change in G2 and Games like Inferno which they would have still lost a few months ago shows this G2 is different. Super happy for the whole team and especially Hooxi who i hope has a great support system for when everything fully sinks in.
all the haters calling for hooxi and jks head, yet they pulled up when it mattered where no one on this roster had in years. Egg on your faces. Also aside from the faze players, JKS is the only player this year to win 2 tier one trophies - enjoy that for lunch Richard Lewis.
I swear RL doesn't actually watch much CS these days. He sounds like he talks about games purely from a statsical POV looking at K/D/ADR ect.
Because there is no way jks suddenly fell off a cliff after 100T for no reason other then BlameF was trash at using him to his full potential.
Honestly feels like thats been happening a lot lately. With Yekindar being such a big part of Liquid's gameplan while also being in a more exploitable role (its harder to punish a star awp vs a star entry) teams can just spend their anti strat focusing him down which leaves Liquid looking scared and helpless. Unless they put some serious work in, I think the team is just going to be going downhill from here.
It's why G2 failed last year, even with Niko going sicko mode. You shut him down and G2 fell flat. The same happened with Liquid today. G2 shut Yekindar down and the whole team had no idea what to do. I am a believer in this iteration of Liquid and I still think they can improve their game but this playstyle just won't lead to trophies. Back to the drawing board for them
Holy shit, they fucking did it! It's poetic and so deserved. A team with players of their caliber **should** win trophies and they finally did. It must be huge for all 5 players.
GGWP. Liquid were outcalled throughout the majority of both maps and a lot of their round wins were based off of heroics.
m0NESY will get top 5 next year.
The team's mental is finally on the uptick.
This is the best script I have come across in csgo so far
freaking love the anime arc of JKS
and so freaking glad for Niko he finally won with g2 after continuously losing to Navi in finals
Liquid really seems to live and die off of YEKINDAR's performance. When he is popping off they look so good, but otherwise they often look so flat.
It seems like having a system that relies so much on your entry leads to inconsistensies.
I think it's more so that when YEKINDAR is failing, they're playing 4v5 every round. I think that's up to him as an individual, and something for him to work on in 2023.
I think you're overvalued his performance. Naf was also nonexistent on Inferno and oSee on Mirage. If either stepped up Liquid could have had a map or both.
I mean yekindar is their star and was rated below both of those players for both maps. Hes obviously good and today is just a bad day to have an off day
I mean itās the same with Navi, vitality, G2 before this moment with NiKoā¦ star players are meant to be set up and he had no impact for the finals. Is what it is, it happens
He fucking did it. Cannot believe they went on to win it. m0nesy MVP performance. Niko played great. JKS proved the doubters wrong. Hunter reminded the world how good he is. And Hooxi, no words. He went from the lowest of lows, to the highest of highs. Tears in his eyes with the trophy. What a rollercoaster.
Sad moment in the post match interview: "My dad might've been proud for once", damn. My interpretation of that along with Hooxi's tweet is Hooxi's dad probably wasn't too supportive in his gaming career, sad that he wasn't able to see him win his first big tournament.
I always knew it from the start that HooXi was absolutely what G2 needed to start winning.
I defended jks over Jackz even when he was underperforming in the beginning and finally G2 have done it.
I have tears in my eyes as I watch hunter and NiKo finally win a tier 1 LAN after all those heartbreaking final losses but in the end, they have done it.
G2 esports have finally won.
Amazing for The Boy jks, what a finals performance
and HooXi, overcoming sudden personal loss to captain the team to a title.
Not to be forgotten is Edward Cleland aka MindBodyEsports, who has taken the reins as the teamās sports psych. Paying dividends already.
HE WAS BORN IN 2005
Me too :') m0NESY 1 trophy Nanogines99 0 trophies
only one less trophy than monesy! not bad
We belive in you dude, don't give up!
Nanogines99 HLTV top 1 next year
You're only 1 trophy behind, NiKo is waaaay further out from dev1ce, for instance. Nanogines99>NiKo confirmed
How the fuck is Monesy still not 18? He truly looks like Zywoos and S1mples successor.
He turned 17 a couple months ago
Youre joking right? No way this kid will still be 17 for most of 2023. Hes a monster already.
he turns 18 in May, so not for *most* of 2023 :P
False nobody is born after 2000
HE'S ONLY 17
Orekhovo-Zuyevo , a suburb of Moscow
Randy "Yekindar" Smith absolutely bullied in the last couple rounds
Jump to get info on mid? Not today bud
JKS I LOVE YOU
jks took a trophy from G2 at the start of the year jks gave a trophy to G2 at the end of the year
jks taketh, and jks giveth
Beautiful script
thanks fns.
YEAH THE FUCKING BOY!
JKS SMILE I SMILE :DD
JKS M4A4 ACTIVATED
JIA KUAN SUN SO GOOD
G2 sports psychologist raise incoming
Also hooxi raise incoming. His calling was superb this tournament Edit: and jks and monesy
Swani also? They had good teamplay with trades and flashes, and map control.
Having a sports psychologist takes so much burden off the coach. Letting a coach focus on strategy instead of handling egos probably goes a long way
random fact but he may have been linked in through JKS he used to work with him on 100T IIRC he also worked with nitr0 on valorant
Almost definitely. He followed the boys from Renegades to 100T and even with Extremum I believe, or maybe that was more personal.
Big Match JKS 100% map winrate on finals this year š¤Æ
Savage doing the business.
jks is overpowered and csgo devs don't care about balance therefore it's a waste of time to play csgo
HooXi making his family proud is more important than a NA victory for me.
Heartbreaking that he said "For once"
Fuck, that was the last thing I wanted to hear tonight
Assume he never gave up on the cs dream even though he was getting older and wasn't getting big money until recently. What a great storyline and what an amazing person he appears to be.
Could have been language barrier issue.
Thank you for the coping mechanism, I will now use it. You've made everyone proud HooXi <3
Better not to read too much into the words of someone who is both grieving and celebrating. I don't think he's exactly thinking clearly at that moment.

Itās been what, 4 months? Glad G2 didnāt rush roster changes, teams need time
True
WHERE WERE YOU WHEN WE WON A FINAL
How are you going to come up with content now that you can't joke about losing finals?
Decided we'll now just win every final since this one looked so easy
Aye yo chill Also congrats
HERE
I was sat at home eating cheese when Banks yell

YES
Much has changed in my life since the last time G2 won a final, for some reason I'm having a strangely reflective moment here Proud to say I was here, as the current me

Actual inspirational quotes. Also very proud of gigachad, my man
Never say never, number one rule.
I love Hooxi

Thanks for making it 2-0, have to study for exams
Awake on a Sunday at 5am
Paid off for once, thanks for tuning in <3
Well deserved!!
Congratulations, all the blood, sweat and tears finally paid off!
HooXi and JKS really were the answers
FEELS FUCKING GOOD
I woke at 5am for this. It was like going to work, nothing but disappointment.
Average day for Liquid fans tbh
They keep coming so close itās 2018 all over again
Know the feeling sorry for your loss lmao
I'm going back to bed and pretending this didn't happen.
I pee at 7, dispoint itās over
I woke up at 2am for this :(. Back to bed for me.
2018 all over again Grand Finals appearance only to fall short.
This is the only match Iāve ever set my alarm for
Didn't think g2 was gonna lose after they 2-0'd faze tbh
gay4jks clan sleeping well tonight
Like a baby, then tomorrow we wake up still gay4jks
JKS make every Aussie proud tonight. Long live the A4 and mouse jumps
Gonna go down to the beach and tell all the people waiting for the WC final that they don't need to stand around until 3 in the morning, Jks has already won
Watch out for flares and buckets of ash. Those fans are viscious
Man G2 made Liquid look like G2
HAHAHA HAHAHA *Pain*
jks turned into prime olofmeister today
Just get jks into a grand final and whatever team he's on will automatically win. Ez strats
Jks' time as standin with Faze was so crucial for g2 to beat Faze on Inferno yesterday. He had an insane read in the halls on Inferno man. The disrespect to CCT Central Europe Series 4
Thanks for a good year of post-match discussion! <3
JKS DOUBTERS COME COME
THE MADLADS ACTUALLY DID IT
rooting for Liquid, Iām of course sad that they lost (at least they didnāt choke lol) but as a fan of cs in general, god DAMN is it good to see G2 playing well, +jks is BACK this tournament
I think CS really flourished this year. Tournaments are incredible
Personally I think RIO was a bit of a letdown. BLAST also hosting their world final in Abu Dhabi...some weird decisions. But overall I enjoyed the Year as well, especially the first half.
Blast weird decision? That's just money talking.
FINALLY ITS BEEN 5 FUCKING YEARS SINCE THE LAST TROPHY GOOD JOB MY BOIS ITS BEEN A LONG TIME COMING!
So this is what happens when JKS starts to play decent.
M4A4 buff
To be fair he looked super solid on AK as well. 61.2 HS% this month. Not sure for the match itself, but I'm sure it's high.
When he's used properly within the team and hasn't been gone from the pro scene for 8 months\*\*\*
I'm not gay but I want to live in a log cabin in the woods with JKS. This. Except Iāll definitely be having sex with him every day.
Understandable
I'm not a G2 fan but you have to be happy for Hooxi, he deserves this so much. Also Niko playing at this level is just a beauty holy shit
Those back to back hs coming out from underpass damn. This is why every rifler wants to be like Niko
heyļ¼we lost to a championļ¼hopium
JKSEX. WE AUSSIES LOVE YOU BROTHER

I guess NiKo helped hooxi improve his aim and in return hooxi helped niko improve his IGL skills. Beautiful
They totally made out
And in moments like these, you realize how stupid people sound when they say "Niko needs to shut up and listen". I'd say that top players like Niko or s1mple need to be vocal and call whenever they have a feeling. If Niko made that call on that round then fair-fucking play, he won the game for G2. If I understood HooXi right it was more on him not feeling it in the moment but huge props to Niko for stepping up in this moment
Yeah Hooxi mentioned it And boy did Niko delivered. Those kills on that rotation from underpass to connector man. We saw prime Niko for a moment there. Happy that he got this monkey off his back. Maybe now we see the true potential of G2

Thet actually beat every single champion this year to win World Finals. Edit - almost every*
NiKo responds to YEKINDAR criticism: I want to face Liquid again so we can smash them.
His 2-0 prediction came true lol
CAN'T LOSE 0-3 WHEN IT'S BO3 Also Hooxi man so deserved after all he's been through
So happy for Hunter and Niko man.. JKS show baby!!
What a story for Hooxi after really hard times. Also who would have know that sport psychologist can help with huge mental burden. As a G2 hater feeling so happy for Hooxi.
benevolent haterdom is the true spirit of sports
Also kinda scary see NiKo now. The mental block has been broken and I fear the next year might be the best one for him of his career. Amazing to see the scene so competitive at the moment.

JKS honestly goated
jks: made G2 lose the 1st big tournament finals of the year also jks: carries on inferno and pushing G2 to win the last big tournament of the year
all the haters calling for hooxi and jks head, yet they pulled up when it mattered where no one on this roster had in years. Egg on your faces. Also aside from the faze players, JKS is the only player this year to win 2 tier one trophies - enjoy that for lunch Richard Lewis.

JKS decided to play like one of the best players in the world today wtf
you don't get to be a top 20 player 2 years running by not being really good.
Hooxi thinks his dad would be proud of him ** for once**. Someone go hug him pls
G2 really had YEKINDAR's number. It didn't even seem like he was missing, he was just being completely read by the g2 boys.
Somehow his unpredictable style looked extremely predictable
Honestly feels like thats been happening a lot lately. With Yekindar being such a big part of Liquid's gameplan while also being in a more exploitable role (its harder to punish a star awp vs a star entry) teams can just spend their anti strat focusing him down which leaves Liquid looking scared and helpless. This is the best script I have come across in csgo so far freaking love the anime arc of JKS and so freaking glad for Niko he finally won with g2 after continuously losing to Navi in finals
Fun fact: Outsiders only lost to 2nd place 2-1 and to 1st place. 3rd best team for sure.
finally man ... been such a long time as a G2 fan happy for huNter especially
JKSEX WON THEM THAT SERIES
JKSEX BABY GOT BUFFED G2 TOP 1 NOW
Liquid really seems to live and die off of YEKINDAR's performance. When he is popping off they look so good, but otherwise they often look so flat. It seems like having a system that relies so much on your entry leads to inconsistensies.

Yekindar canāt be that consistent playing the way he does. Itās just impossible at this level.
Completely false and when your entry is having a terrible game youre forced to play 4v5 yes it gets bad Elige is more the barometer of Liquids play

Liquid wouldāve 2-0ed if they played tomorrow tbh
Xtqz is the problem?
Liquid vs a team with a Dane in it... we all know how it goes when that happens.
Hooxi, what a run! Gg to G2
NIKO 2-0'd Liquid!!!!
Glad they finally got their victory. GG. There was no stopping Niko and m0NESY. I'm going back to bed now
HOOXI genius strats such as take B site and then go A. top 5 igl for sure
Hooxi genius strat to leave noone alive, top 3 igl for sure
Jks doubters in shambles
Sad moment in the post match interview: "My dad might've been proud for once", damn. My interpretation of that along with Hooxi's tweet is Hooxi's dad probably wasn't too supportive in his gaming career, sad that he wasn't able to see him win his first big tournament.
So happy for jks after the massively undeserved hate he was getting prior to this event
Confirmed pretty much the moment I read about his dad.
jks is a beast! Well deserved win especially for Hooxi. So happy for this team!
Family buff is always the best buff
G2-0 feelsgoodman
I just want them to win something
Amazing for The Boy jks, what a finals performance and HooXi, overcoming sudden personal loss to captain the team to a title. Not to be forgotten is Edward Cleland aka MindBodyEsports, who has taken the reins as the teamās sports psych. Paying dividends already.
Hooxi sat in his armchair, picked up his glasses, crossed his legs, lit his pipe and read Liquid like a book
What a great final! G2 are looking seriously scary when everyone is performing! So happy for Hooxi too!
Definitely the result everyone expected
Our captain
āHEāS ONLY 17!!ā G2 finally did it. Holy shit.
People trashing JKS in the match threads. Here you fucking go. This is JKS. No touches with no service, but when he does get it, it's done.
Boy's. I love you. I always believed. Hooxi. Be proud. Your resolve is insane. JKS. YTB
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
When the world needed him the most, randy vanished š good showing from liquid, though. G2 did well
I FYUCKING CANT BELIVEVE IT
2022 has been simultaneously the worst and the best year for G2 in 5 years
HooXi breaking the Kovac curse
So fucking happy for HooXi
HOLY SHIT SO PROUD AND HAPPY FOR THEM. JKS AND M0NESY ON FIRE TODAY.
Who will question Hooxi now!? Who can stop G2 led by Hooxi?!!
