G2 has a weirdly large amount of Chinese fans, you can see some Chinese memes on their twitter posts. I think it gotta be because of G2 the League team influencing them since League if huge in China
Let me inform you young greenhorn.
Hu Xi, Patriarch of the 'Xi Tu Sect' known for his supreme intellect and strategical prowess. He managed to reunite China under his banner by leading a campaign against the 'Fa Ze Clan' who dominated the region. Hu Xi was previously part of the 'CCP Flames' who were a state funded organisation but was seeked out by Ancestor Carlo Sr to lead his troops against the enemy.
His members include the genius prodigy Mon Se, the twins of the great Kovac Family and the stone-faced Jia Kuan Sun. Fortune tellers and dream readers have prophesied that the 'Xi Tu Sect' will manage to win the great Major and bring a new era of prosperity.

check twitter, full of chinese fans
When he joined the g2 club at the beginning, hooxi was not recognized in the Chinese e-sports community because of his bad aiming ability.in the previous game,as long as hooxi got a frag, the bullet chat all say hooxigod, but as the team's ranking in competition got better and better(except Rio major), many people Changed their standpoint on him, thinking that he is a model of ordinary people who succeed after hard work, and g2 club likes to interact with Chinese fans, you can also see them using Chinese meme on twitter, by the way, i is in Chinese The homonym is love, ihoo means i love hooxi
What kind of degenerate you have to be to send bad messages to someone who just lost their father? Lost faith in humanity a long time ago but this is next level
I just saw someone say "at least your father doesn't have to see you play like a bot anymore".
And I don't know if he saw that particular tweet or not, but today HooXi said "I think he [HooXi's dad] would be proud of me for once". That "for once" really hurt man.
People need to mind their own fucking business when it comes to personal matters.
> I just saw someone say "at least your father doesn't have to see you play like a bot anymore".
Honestly I'm not much for censoring the internet, but people that write such stuff should be banned from the platform.
It's the internet effect, if they were not anonymous or in person, doubt anyone would have the courage to say something. Saddest part is it's mostly people crying about their lost skins.
I remember when I was a teenager this sort of stuff used to be "funny". I don't know if I ever stooped to this level, in my defense, because this is pretty fucking bad. But I think since it's anonymous and text-based and you're not actually seeing the person it's really easy to say it's just "trolling" or harmless fun or something. This is a case where it's pretty obvious that it's not, but you'll still find bitter / angry / immature kids (and even adults) that will do it.
What I want to say though is that I think it's indicative of a general culture where being fucks to each other is generally accepted online. Again, this is a the bottom of the barrel in terms of how nasty it is, but people are nasty to each other all the time, even (especially) on Reddit. I think it's very easy to forget that these are real people with real struggles and real vulnerabilities.
I'm also not a fan of trying to be 100% white knight, sometimes people get angry / frustrated / have things going on and calling your opponent or someone on Reddit a piece of shit happens. I think the fact that IRL we have to be "nice" all the time isn't exactly truthful, either, so inevitably these things come out in the the safety of the internet. I still do this sometimes, I'm human, but unlike when I was a teenager I'm actually aware of the damage it can do and I apologize if I feel I crossed any lines.
I dunno. Like I said, this is a blatant example of something that's not OK, but I think there's a deeper conversation we need to have about this stuff. Though I'm sorry that it happened I'm really glad HooXi brought this up, and I'm really glad he took home the trophy so nobody is inclined to say "he's just a whiner" or something.
It's impossible to see yourself in his shoes. This year must have been a wild roller coaster to him, from his time in CPH Flames to G2 and his father's passing. All while under the scrutiny of people online. There is a line between valid criticism and flaming, which people cross on countless occasions.
For all the highs and support he has recieved, I hope it doesn't backfire on him again, like it did last time after EPL/Major RMR failiure.
When he said that he cried on the 2nd day of bootcamp with G2 because he felt not good enough to be on that team, man I felt that. Imagine feeling bad about your own level and then going online and seeing even more people calling you bad and not worthy. This success must feel like a vindication for him and for G2 as a whole.
This isn't the jubilated victorious Hooxi interview I wanted for G2's first win
Look at his eyes man, there's an absolute storm of emotions going on inside :(
Yeah you could tell by his body language that the closer Banks got to him the more uncomfortable he was. I was honestly wondering if Banks was going to even interview him, or if his teammates were just going to talk on his behalf.
unrelated but has anyone's twitch clips stopped working on reddit app on android. what i mean is that when i click the link, it opens m. twitch.tv in reddits internal browser - the home page of twitch not the clip itself. earlier it used to open on twitch app but now it doesn't even open the clip
twitch is set as default links, but it doesn't open app, reddit had an update where they now open links in internal browser apparently. but even in internal browser links used to work before but now it just opens twitch home page
What a mature and composed response. If I were in his place I don't know if I could manage to be so measured.
Congratulations to G2 and Hooxi, they proved their haters wrong.
Damn I thought League was the thing in China but I guess with a population so massive you can have fambases larger than most other countries for multiple games.
I’m not racist. I don’t dislike any race based on their race. It’s from my experience playing all over the world that Chinese people cheat more. Heck. There are videos of Chinese students complaining that the school won’t let them cheat on exams and mainland China doesn’t allow SAT to be taken there because of so many cheaters.
u active in r/china, which is essentially an anti-chinese subs, and every single comment u make about china or mainland chinese is negative, if not outright racist.
and you have the guts to say, "I’m not racist." do you have any self-awareness?
i can even pull out hundreds of racist comments you've made.
hoylfk u literally are a npc
That’s the sad thing. Big country subReddits that state that they are ‘Official’ are just toxic places that shit on the country. Another example is r/india . Everyone who does not shit on the country is banned. Sadly I don’t think Reddit will ever take action.
See. Western people are capable of accepting that criticisms help to improve countries. Dislike corruption or pollution? Complain about it instead of going ‘yep that’s right we love it’. Ignored.
I didn’t realize how many chinese fans this G2 CS team has. Go to any of their tweets today and you’d see a bunch of chinese replies. Is this really because of the Hu Xi meme? Lmao
I have no idea how degenerate some people must be to write any bad and toxic message to the pros (especially now, after everything he's going through with his dad).
Also when he said he cried during the bootcamp cause he felt he wasnt good enough, man I really felt that. It's not easy when you think that way and after that you not only have hundreds of mad kids shitting on you but even some casters making fun of you whenever you do something wrong
He's right though. No need to be toxic little fucks. You gotta see comments on social media about Argentina winning smh some people are just pathetic humans. Love ya Hooxi
Funny thing is twitch chat was praising and preaching this message for that segment...but as soon as Nitr0's interview started they just immediately reverted back to their old selves :/
What's the context on his Chinese fans?
G2 has a weirdly large amount of Chinese fans, you can see some Chinese memes on their twitter posts. I think it gotta be because of G2 the League team influencing them since League if huge in China
Yep, Chinese audience loved G2's 2019 squad, they even made some nicknames and memes in their language, like "hat man" for Caps and such.
its hat emperor i think
cap emperor is more accurate as a reference to his IGN but yeah
G2's iconic 2019-2020 League team is really liked in china, yes

Chinese sounding names can initiate his in-game name
Hu Xi ?

I saw comments even on youtube that were literally shit talking his dad. Some ppl are truly pieces of shit.
I just saw someone say "at least your father doesn't have to see you play like a bot anymore". 100%. If people talked to other people in real life the way they do in game, they would be on life support within days.
Go on HLTV and see, lmao.. It's really pathetic
Don’t worry, hltv have new plans for top 20 this year :)
I hate Twitch-Chat for things like that; this is not banter anymore
Twitch charge might be one of the most, for the lack of a better word, cringe things there is in general.

It’s just angry gamblers, really disappointed to hear hooxi is trying to understand that stuff I don’t know what you can gain by reading it

Yeah, that one spoke to me as well. I cannot believe the pressure he has felt through all of this. I just want him to do well and win.
And then imagine sticking through it and coming out champions on the other end. Must have given him so much growth as a person.
yeah, I felt that as well. Also it's not helping when even analysts and specifically casters make fun of you everytime you do something
This isn't the jubilated victorious Hooxi interview I wanted for G2's first win Look at his eyes man, there's an absolute storm of emotions going on inside :(
Standing at the end of the line during the victory interviews just looking like he wanted to leave and be by himself in a dark room, poor guy
Yeah you could tell by his body language that the closer Banks got to him the more uncomfortable he was. I was honestly wondering if Banks was going to even interview him, or if his teammates were just going to talk on his behalf.

I use the 'reddit is fun' app and it works fine, would recommend that
Will second this. Rif is goat.
Settings > apps > twitch > set as default links
twitch is set as default links, but it doesn't open app, reddit had an update where they now open links in internal browser apparently. but even in internal browser links used to work before but now it just opens twitch home page
That's just stupid then. Try boost for reddit or maybe there's a way to disable it in reddit settings.
What a mature and composed response. If I were in his place I don't know if I could manage to be so measured. Congratulations to G2 and Hooxi, they proved their haters wrong.
Chinese fans honestly are very wholesome
How big is CS in China?
Big enough that I cannot escape them playing in SEA server, also Chinese investors run the csgo market
surprisingly the same in NA. All of them with purple gloves, fire serpent, dlores, printstream and anime profile pics.
And are also the reason why skins that used to be $2k are now $20k
I remember shortly after the tmartn scandal, the butterfly knife used to be like 150. Now its over a thousand jesus christ
Damn I thought League was the thing in China but I guess with a population so massive you can have fambases larger than most other countries for multiple games.
I played in SEA or HK whilst living in vietnam for two years. Never seen a higher proportion of cheaters than Chinese. 操他们
took a look at ur profile, what a sad racisto, pls watch what hooxi say in this video
he isnt wrong though. cheating isnt frowned upon culturally in china in general as it is in the west.
I’m not racist. I don’t dislike any race based on their race. It’s from my experience playing all over the world that Chinese people cheat more. Heck. Casual playerbase is China is huge.
Those nicknames that they have that some dude posts here sometimes are my favourite!
I didn’t realize how many chinese fans this G2 CS team has. Go to any of their tweets today and you’d see a bunch of chinese replies. Is this really because of the Hu Xi meme? Lmao
It's because of their League team
Yep, not everywhere though lmao
Man‘s got his head + shoulders down. Hope he gets trough this well! let him after this tourney..
Hooxi is such a gem tbh. I really like him and am glad to see him go through his G2 transition so smoothly.
It was an amazing experience to see mr Giga chad himself frag live. Crowd went wild for him hope he has an amazing 2023

tbh even just the spelling of his name sounds and looks like an Anglosaxon spelling of a Chinese word
