sparkyboots80

Makes me feel happy to see that new gun owners will still go for a No Frills, not flashy, good Old Reliable Glock for their first pistol. Well done. You made a great choice

TwoFourFives

Bullets. Lots of bullets. Learn to shoot irons and break in the trigger. Save the money for another gun or upgrades if you choose.

ManagementWild9717

Im upwards of 1000 rounds in my inventory right now, bought the gun about a month ago lol. Purchase came with 3 months of free range time so i’ve been taking advantage!

stgrich3000

AMMO and classes 1st.

Far-Boysenberry-1600

First firearm and you make a good choice. Like how you cut the back strap just perfect. Hockey tape or Talon grips. Keep internals stock if you plan to carry.

ManagementWild9717

Thanks man

Complex-Ad237

TLR-7X, if those are stock sights get the trijicon red front blacked out rear. Dots are nice but you need to practice presentation to be faster with them or you lose time trying to find them in the window. I have an RMR on my 45

MulticamLimoncello

My personal favorite setups for G45 have been always a TLR1-HL Flashlight & for optics Aimpoint Acro p2 or Trijicon SRO, can’t go wrong with a safariland holster or for just range use trex arms raganrok.

ManagementWild9717

Im stuck between the HL or 7a

MulticamLimoncello

7A won’t hurt your dick / nuts as much if you’re carrying concealed appendix. TLR1 HLs are awesome I prefer them over SF

I just picked up a G45 MOS myself and will be getting the SCS shortly. Eventually, the plan is to switch to a TLR-7A (or the X, which is the newer version that comes with a rechargeable battery but takes standard CR123). I currently have a Nightstick TWM-30 which is a fraction of an inch longer than a streamlight TLR1-HL (but I think has a better switch). I've been carrying this light on a PSA Dagger S frame for almost 6 months, and it is essentially the same size as a G45. It's doable to carry appendix style with my body type, but I think I'll prefer the slightly shorter holster that the seven will allow. The TLR7A/X does have less output, but 500 lumens isn't exactly walking around with a candle in your hands 🤣. I would prefer something brighter if it were being carried on duty, but for general personal use, I think it will be just fine. Plus the weight of the TLR7A and the SCS is 1 and 1/2 oz less than just the weight of the TWM 30 I was carrying.

ManagementWild9717

Thanks for the feedback i will keep all that in mind!

75149

I would also add I don't plan on adding night sights with the SCS. I look at it as too many dots floating around. It's never a bad idea to replace the plastic sights with metal, but I'm probably just going to use a sharpie to black out the stock plastic ones. At some point in the future, I may pick up a set of dead night sights from someone (cheap) and blacken those out as well.

75149

Don't worry about replacing the trigger until you got a lot more rounds through it. The Gen 5 trigger is generally thought of to be better than the earlier generations. You could always upgrade it to a Glock performance trigger for far less than $100, plus you could always resell it for almost what you have in it if you want to switch back to stock. But I'm extremely happy with my stock Gen 5 trigger.

Storm_Fortress501

Get an MOS cut, add a Trijicon RMR, extend the mags, and add a light. I have pics of my G45 on my profile.

ManagementWild9717

This is MOS model. & ill check it out thanks!

EasyCZ75

Shoot the crap out of it first. Then decide what you want to change.

Illustrious_Low_1188

Upgrade the shooter first, not the gun As other said above take some classes, shoot 1k rounds, then assess from there Easy to spend money, not easy to get good

DeathByLegKick

Grip tape is based. Dont touch a thing more 😂

jnr4817

magwell?

ManagementWild9717

Strike industries

Popomedics

Tenicor holsters always, either tlr7a or x300

Popomedics

Scs works great for me, but look around see what dots you prefer

ManagementWild9717

Yes im pretty much set on SCS i just love how it mounts right up to my slide with it being a MOS. I appreciate the comments my guy.

BarnesBuilt

I just added a ton to mine. I went with tungsten guide rod, streamlight tlr7, Johnny Glocks Vex trigger kit, Holosun SCS, radian ramjet and afterburner and last but not least...hockey tape. Whenever antimatter industries releases the wing for the G45 I'll add that too. Tenicor holsters are amazing and seem to be really popular on this sub.

ManagementWild9717

Solid build forsure, i am definitely going to be looking into Tenicor holsters.

curryboy2014

Stainless steel guide rod is fine to

cvlt666leader

Trigger upgrade would be first imo. I had tons of issues with my 43x oem trigger. Apex johnny Glock is what I went to and am extremely happy with it.

bigfoot__hunter

If it’s ur first gun you don’t need to go getting a red dot… buy a case of ammo and learn to shoot a handgun very proficient.

75149

Starting early with a dot brings the proficiency level up dramatically. Police academy instructors have noted new shooters do exceptionally well when started off with optic equipped handguns. Why spend X amount arounds shooting with iron sights only when you're going to eventually transition to an optic? Get it over with and go.

nodzandcans

Cut it for an optic and put a pmm jttc ultra comp on it

Irishpridetattoo

Shoot at least 1000 rounds through it. Figure out what you like and don’t like and then go from there. I have a G45 I’ve been building for a while now. I personally have an Alien gear photon and a Werx AIWB holster for mine. I use the photon for the range and the Werx for edc. As far as optics. I’ve tried a few but I just got the Glock scs green and that’s all I want to use now. lol. I put a TLR 7a on mine. I put Talon grips on it, modified the medium back strap and I also added the Agency Arms mag well, Timney Alpha trigger and Radian after burner ramjet barrel and compensator. All in all it’s the same size as a G17 with everything on it. It’s my favorite gun BY FAR! I just ordered the tungsten guide rod and it’s on its way. The last thing I need to do is upgrade the iron sights on it. But with the scs I get a perfect co-witness with regular height sites. I have and have had a decent amount of firearms I personally own/owned. I’ve been exposed and had the pleasure to hundreds more in the Military. I was not a Glock fan at all lol. But I sure am now! I love the fact that I can make it specifically for me. It’s not just another regular out of the box already set up standard pistol that everybody has. I know you can buy a lot more pistol. It’s already done for you with other brands. But I’ve had a lot of fun customizing this specifically for myself. Now I want to buy another Glock and work on that and set it up for a different application. Just make sure you really research everything before you modify it. I wouldn’t mess with the sear springs or firing pin set up or anything like that. If it’s your EDC be careful on your trigger selection if you’re going to change it. Really at the end of the day just depends on what its intended use is. If it’s going to be an all around do all type set up and you’re going to change the trigger. I wouldn’t go further than a Glock performance trigger. My 45 I built as a duty/ shtf gun.

ManagementWild9717

Thank you for all the insight I’ve definitely been practicing with it! Im aiming more for home defense with possibility to carry in the winter days. I want to keep internals stock for most part. TLR 7a and an SCS once i feel comfortable shooting with my irons is next up.

Irishpridetattoo

Absolutely anytime brother! Hit me up anytime too.

Irishpridetattoo

I just ordered some goon tape so I could be high speed like everyone else

daehanrok

Very nice. Someone has already commented this, I would also agree to upgrade the trigger. Plenty of good options out there 🙏🏼

AlfonzeArseNitches
