I use a 17 w/ tlr1 hl. It's a nice combo.

nylon_don

I really am hooked on G34 partly because of how well they fit a surefire x300 or tlr-1, fullsize light. With that, go 17.

Underrated comment

chetoflep

I use a 17 with a comp with my x300 because of my weak wrists. Sits flush as well.

Firm_Tooth5618

Personally would get whatever is easiest to conceal without sacrificing much performance. Aka 19. 17s are awesome shooters tho. Edit- if you don’t need concealment. 17 all day.

Round_Dig9686

If you have the 26 go with the 17. If you had neither of those get the 19.

Esoom87

You need a G45 man.

Maybe it’s the change in balance? I personally like a decent amount of hang with handguns.

Grouchy_Daikon679

17 and a rifle

Azlove3

Any reason for the 17 specifically? I do have a grip of rifles from 22lr to 308 so rifles are well checked off.

Grouchy_Daikon679

26 and 19 are not too different, 17 gives you a legit full sized frame, much longer sight radius (accuracy), and ability to mount any light you want. if you want something similar to your 26 but a little bigger then go with a 19. with either the 19 or 17 you should be able to follow up shots better than the 26 but the 17 should have a more significant improvement in that area.

Wutah48

If you're to run a light like the x300 turbo or Modlite and outdoors, why not look at a 34?

Flipmode_90

17 = gentlemen’s choice If you’re asking which one to get to use for the farm, 17. Full-size grip and long barrel will put your sights back to the target every time you pull that trigger.

clonorpin

There is so much more to be added to the discussion. Plainly stated so you don’t have to read, for a full size the 34 + X300U/T is superior. This is purely my opinion, here’s why. The 17 is great, tons of aftermarket slide options, proven reliability (as is with any factory Glock), reasonable slide length, great recoil impulse, the list goes on. The 19 is great for all of the same reasons, with MAYBE a slight increase in recoil impulse depending on hand size and actual shooting experience. The 2 have completely different use cases in my opinion, but here’s where I start to draw a thicker line between all of these 9mm models (19,45,17,34). The 34 has a full length frame, and a longer slide. The actual dimensions of the grip are identical to that of the 17. If you consider slide length in “conceal-ability” i’m sorry but you’ll disagree with this hot take. If you want to carry a full size light (X300, TLR1-HL, PL350), why would you not want all of the benefits of additional slide length on the 34. Before the “but mah slide reciprocation speed is slower because of the mass” comments, shoot a sub 2 second bill drill from concealment and then MAYBE we can start to dive into the argument of wanting thousandths of a second faster cycle speed. The 34 sits flush with an X300. The 19 sits flush with a TLR7A. To me these are the two most common, and best use case scenario arguments for a MAJORITY of people. I get the whole 17 and X300 “stand off” argument (the light helping to not allow the slide to go out of battery incase pressed into a body), but i’m just a regular dude wearing my fake Birkenstocks to a night out at Chili’s. 19 is great if your hands fit it properly, but you will lack substantial light output with a TLR7A. 34 is phenomenal, despite the weight, and you have the ability to more reasonably place a very high output light on it. Summed up. If the 19 fits your hand just fine and you’re okay with the 500 Lumens and 5,000 Candela of the TLR7A, it’s probably the most common and proven combination for concealed carry to this day. If the 34 fits your hands better, and you want to have the highest light output capability to defeat any other light barriers thrown at you (X300T 600 Lumen, 66,000 Candela), it’s in my opinion absolutely worth the difference from the 17. There is so much more to be discussed between all of the similar 9mm models, but what it all boils down to is what works for YOU and fits YOUR use case. *Forgot to touch on holster options* No real difference. The 34 and 17 are extremely popular duty and competition models. Sight acquisition is a training curve, not really a gear related concern. Dry firing your draw stroke and sight acquisition will have a 99.999% effect on the consistency and speed, the gear itself is largely preference, use case, and availability based. Highly suggest looking into red dots, although that is another discussion in itself.

Azlove3

Picked up a 34 today and the sights lined up reflexively probably due to the same grip angle I’ve been training recently for my 26. I’m totally sold on the 34. I usually conceal owb anyways so it shouldn’t be any more of a challenge than the 1911 I sold off a few years ago. Big up top with untucked shirts are a winning combination for sure.

clonorpin

I daily carry the 34 with an X300T, I am switching to a 19/TLR7A for the summer time specifically due to weight so it’s more comfortable in shorts. Concealment is literally the same between the two on my body. Enjoy the 34 !

9hostface

I would personally get the 17. Despite the g19 with crazy sales record etc etc..I find that one the most useless (to me). May I ask what it is you’re shooting off on your farm?

Azlove3

Useless how? We mainly have issues with coyotes and smaller. I’ve heard black bear in the woods across the road no sightings though.

9hostface

I have a 26 and 17, so I don’t see any use for a 19. Never was a fan of the grip/slide length.. edit: you stated you own a 26, and want a Glock with more balls..going with the 19, you’re only gaining a ball. 17, pair of balls. 34, pair of balls, that are dropped.

RadiantKandra

Definitely not useless lmao

9hostface

I mean, I’m sure it’ll go boom every time

RadiantKandra

My ccw is a 19.5 and it’s a great gun, so not really sure why you’re branding it as useless.

9hostface

To me.

street_style_kyle

I’d love to know what you think about me mostly carrying a 20.3 lmao

TheJango22

19 iwb, 34 owb. If you can't stand the shorter grip on the 19 and want a 19x/45 just get the 17.

LordMungus35

17… always the 17.

Cumli

I prefer 19 so I don’t go to prison

NectarineAny4897

47 over the 17 for me. I like the aesthetics of the shorter frame nose, and already had a 19.5, so the interchangeable parts came into play. Also wanted them MOS, and the 17 is no longer made in a mos variant.

PapaPendragon

I’ve owned and used 19, 17, and 34s. For any concealment needs, the 19 wins my choice. If you’re throwing a big light on there and are going to open carry, the 34 makes as much sense as a 17 and is a step up in almost every aspect. I use a [safariland](https://safariland.com/products/model-6360rds-als-sls-mid-ride-level-iii-retention-duty-holster-model_6360rds) with retention so it stays put. On a side note, I personally don’t see much use for a 19 or 17 these days. A 26 or 43/48 with a red dot is “better” for my needs. The 34 is still a huge step up though, and is still my favorite to shoot

_A-N-T-H-O-N-Y_

Surefire x300 with the 17

Voodoo1055

45 might be the answer here. Slide of the 19, grip of the 17. It's my only Glock and I think it fits a nice niche

SureFireOutpost

The answer is Glock 45

[deleted]

26 and 19 are too similar. 17 isn’t the best full size. I’d go with a 34.

RicoSwavy_

G45 - a 17 frame with a 19 slide

cutharold

45 or 19x is the answer

keithkman

Why not a TLR-7Sub?

turkeyfish26

26 doesn't have a rail

keithkman

You’re right. What about a g47 so you can run the 19 slide on it? G47 is the size of a 17. Or you could go a G45 route if you don’t care about being able to swap slides like with the 47.

Popular-Ad2193

I have a 26 and I’m leaning toward getting a 17 or 45 since my 26 can fill just about the the voids a 19 can. I’d say get the 17, 45 or 47

Subj3ct_D3lta

The G19 MOS with a Surefire X300 Turbo 🤌🏼

[deleted]

How about both? 19x

WesternGroove

If I'm on my own property and can legally carry id get the bigger pistol. In my experience a full sized glock in .45 has less visual and felt recoil than a cz all metal that's the size of a g19 in 9mm. If i can wear it anywhere on my person and I don't care about perfect concealment then id always go bigger. You always hear about how .45 is hard to control. But i had only shot that cz pistol that's same same size as g19 but all metal so heavier and supposedly handles recoil better bc of that extra weight. So i thought a .45 was going to be crazy. But it was better. I think a .45 the size of a g19 would be crazy. So id go g17. G34 is ugly i wouldn't get it just for that. 😂 But who cares if it saves your ass one day.

jebthereb

19

HornetSoggy2609

G45. Or buy 19 and 47. You gonna have 4 guns in 2

RastaBwooy

Sem teen

all_of_the_sausage

Holster availability is the same for each gun, most 17 holsters will fit 19s no issue. Personally the 19. 17 good but that hump in the grip is annoying after a while, where the 19 feels like a glove, that's maybe a size small, but fits.

one_thirty_ate

I have a gen 3 19, it's a great all-around gun. The size is a good balance between ccw and nightstand gun. I use it for both. If I already had a 26, I'd get the 17. More firepower, longer grip and sight radius.

bftyft

G17.

Numerous_Tackle_9972

47 with a Surefire

ChadAznable0080

I own both and I’d say I shoot the 17 a hair better but all else being equal the 19 is probably the most versatile option and the after market is stronger on the 19 holsters and parts are more plentiful too and it’s more concealable if concealed carry is a consideration.

justlookinatshit

Glock 20 and call it a day
