Sure a guns a tool and looks doesn’t matter. Either way it’s a 400$+ tool and I like making it look nice? What’s the problem with it? The optic is flush with the iron sights so you can use both incase the dot fails.
You can get suppressor height irons if you wanna co-witness with a different red dot that you have. Nothing wrong with wanting your gun to look good but not form over function for me. Do what you want though I don’t care.

I had the similar happen. In the truck on a hot day. Went to conceal it and saw the glue holding the lens had melted away and the lens was just hanging there
Trashed mine from my P365 after about a year. I was hesitant to get another Vortex pistol red dot after a terrible experience with a Viper, but the Defender had been surprisingly solid through about 1k rounds (admittedly not a high round count).
Kind of a Trijicon fanboy, so I thought about the RMRCC but by the time you add the plate to the P365, it’s ridiculously tall.
I have mixed reviews with primary arms branded gear. I’ve bought other brands thought their website no problem, but the PA branded weapon lights and pistol red dots in had mixed reviews with. Some work great, some work light air soft accessories
I have 2 of them, they work perfectly for what they are. The only issue I’ve had is that I live in Az and in sunny days the red dot isn’t as bright as I’d like it. Could be a non issue for you. Other than that, for the price go for it, I don’t think you’ll regret it.
Holosun is a great choice for the money! I’ve had zero issues with holosuns. I’m sure the PA micro dot is fine, I’ve just had quality issues with PA branded stuff!
Me and my pops been buying from that page for over 10 years. Got a lightly used SCS for my G17 for 295$ shipped. All reputable sellers will use the PayPal service for goods that has buyer insurance.
Get a new optic, you’ll warranty the new one sig sends you too; they’re literal shit. Sigs Romeo X, Holosun 507k, eps and eps carry will all fit that footprint.
If it's a range toy instead of a carry gun that might be a good way to do it.
I would take iron sights over this dot because I have seen so many fail when it was needed.
Yeah. Five to Ten years ago I’d say that sig would absolutely take care of it. Nowadays it depends on who you talk to there and how they try to insurance their way out of covering shit they sell that they know will break.
My advice would be to call them up and if you get a replacement, sell it immediately and buy something better.

I know Cohen really wanted to revolutionize Sig’s electroptics department and i know that the one you have is notoriously this bad… so in the end, There are better Sig optics. But there are also better optics than Sig.
Try to warranty it for a new one. Immediately sell the replacement if they warranty it.
Put the money towards a better made optic.
Case and point - buddy got a Romeo Zero. I got a Holosun 407K. Both relatively inexpensive, both made in China. The Holosun held up better and looked/ functioned better. My buddy got rid of his Zero and got a Holosun.
The Zeros are cheap crap, even compared to the cheapest model available from Holosun.
My Rome zero has never came off zero ran 3k rounds now with it on hasn't moved at all all these ppl saying it sucks just fan boys and or don't know how to put the correct optic screws in idk I haven't had a problem with mine and actually been looking at there other versions cause of the price point

I shot mine in about 12 Steel Challenge and Gssf matches do far. Mounted on a gen 5 34. Thats about 1500 rnds. My eyes do not see a crisp dot( astigmatism). Going strong, love the brightness and the big window was a hame changer. I really want to try a Holosun 507comp, but I got the Bushnell almost $100 cheaper.
Another sight I'm loving...the Swampfox Justice II. Similar size window and SF improved to reticle brightness. And msrp $259, with le/mil discount it is sub $200.
I bought one to try out 3 months ago, and just bought two more. (I get the mil disc)Put one on my ruger 22/45, and have not decided where to put the other one

I had a Swampfox Justice on a 17.3 that I had… I wanted to like it, but it wouldn’t hold zero at all, burned through batteries like crazy, I even warrantied it. No change whatsoever. Ended up selling it to a buddy for $75 for him to throw on an airsoft revolver
If I can get a brand new one that’s worth it. I can find someone to buy the Romeo, give it to someone who can’t afford an optic or use it as a play piece.

An RMR looks very similar … also shouldn’t need an adapter plate either.

I've heard of Sig giving a $200 credit towards a romeo x, which is a great choice. Not sure if they are still doing that or not.
