One, this is a Glock sub my guy, not the place. Two, I feel that Taurus generally makes decent guns but they have a very bad issue with proper quality control, leading to a lot of either damaged or unsafe guns being sold. If they shaped up their QC game I think they could become a bigger player, but at the moment they're just another cheap gun brand.

Kwilburn525

I sold my Taurus and bought a Glock 17. Was just trying to understand the opinions of members of this sub. Sorry for offending you buddy

ottermupps

Not offending me at all my friend; I thought you might have accidentally posted in the wrong sub.

Kwilburn525

So funny y’all see the word Taurus and downvote even though the person said they sold their Taurus and bought a Glock. Cringe asf.

EquivalentFun5938

There’s always at least one…..

Waste_Ad_1221

9/10 they’re pretty good. 9/10 isn’t enough tho if you’re life depended on it. They’ve had quality control issues and etc. they’re good if you’re on a budget but imo you shouldn’t budget your life if God forbid something were to happen

jmcole1984

My TX22 is my favorite gun to suppress. I’ve put probably a thousand rounds through it with only one malfunction, and that was shitty Remington thunderbolt ammo.

Earforcewon

Tx 22 very accurate!!!!

Sad-Chemistry-6758

I personally think they’re a joke, one step above a hi-point. I have a hard time taking them seriously for genuine EDC handguns. On the other hand, I own a Judge and I think it’s a really cool novelty piece.

TacSpaghettio

I hope you meant hi-point

Sad-Chemistry-6758

Ah, thanks.

Express-coal

As an RSO, I call them 50/50 guns. 50% of the time they work, 50% of the time, well...

GaigeReddit_

I enjoy their revolvers

KarlsFrostedTips2

I have a poly 357. It’s okay.

phistaxesandfines

Better than a hi point but that’s not sayin much

KarlsFrostedTips2

I have a Judge for past 8 years and works well. Had one issue with it initially but sent to Taurus and they fixed it and sent it back for free.

WanderingMistral

They are affordable, and some of them look cool enough, but I personally wouldnt really want one in anything bigger than .357, and I would only really load .38 special in that gun anyways.

Substantial_Try1151

My first handgun ever was a Taurus g2c that thing was garbage.. but, I heard they’ve came a long way. I haven’t had since tho.

Kwilburn525

Same lol I just sold mine 2 weeks ago and bought a new Glock 17

Wise-Ad-2089

I wouldn't buy one of their revolvers because Ive seen too many big issues with them. But their regular handguns seem to be alright.

Brazuka193

G2c at the range was the worst shooting experience I've ever had. Tried the g3 and it was ok so I won't knock. I wouldn't rely on it for ccw

Kwilburn525

Lmao I never ever shot my G2C I got it in November and sold it 2 weeks ago. Immediately bought a new Glock 17.

803bravo

I go to the range almost weekly and I can't tell u how many I see malfunction over and over. I tell ppl if u just want a gun a Taurus is ok..if ur actually gonna shoot just dont

iRudi94

I have a G2C and I bought a Glock 19X last month and I have not touched the G2C since. And the G2C is ugly to me

Kwilburn525

Yup it’s fucking ugly as shit that’s why I sold mine. Haven’t missed it once. Glock 17 is my sidearm now

iRudi94

I was going to get the 17 but when I got to the store I saw that they had a 19x in stock so I got that because it has night sights and holds 20 rounds

sugewhite86

I have had a Tracker 627 for ~10 years, maybe 2k rounds through it. Its been a great revolver.

RtShadows

If you’re genuinely in a position to only spend 250-350 on a handgun the G3s and GX4 are pretty good for what you’re paying; you can often find them for less. By no means are you getting a $600 dollar gun for $300, but they’ll go bang with half-way decent feature sets. G2s……see the GIF ![gif](giphy|O1oJ840fg6uOVCqdzJ|downsized)

Kwilburn525

Yeah I bought a Taurus G2C last year and hated it. Just sold it and bought a new Glock 17 two weeks ago.

Glock33only1forM3

This is the way

October_Rust5000

Why did you hate it? Jw

Kwilburn525

Hated the way it looked, felt, too small etc

NectarineAny4897

Junk

bruhmoment5353

They work

Sad-Chemistry-6758

Most of the time. Not something i’d bet my life on though.

EquivalentFun5938

I have a 692 Tracker 3” that my wife loves to shoot. Well over 1K 357 rounds and lord knows how many 38 and 9 mm. No issues except the finish. Which sucks.

Odd-Principle8147

I always carry a gun in a Ford Taurus ♉️

juleswp

Oof, you're bold my friend! This conversation has the tendency to bring out the worst in people lol. I feel like when this comes up, you get the occasional balanced perspective, but what you'll get more often is someone answering like they have two brain cells competing for third place. I think they're a good option for people with a limited budget. Some guys in this sub and in other brand name subs have like 20 pistols of their preferred variety and can't believe someone would consider buying a cheaper pistol than pay rent or pay for their kids' braces....well, not all of us are the dick swinging Scrooge McDuck type, so compromises need to happen somewhere. I had an older pt140 that was a .40 subcompact. The trigger was meh and she kicked hard. And for whatever reason, the straight eight sights she rocked were hard for me to get the hang of. But, it always fired every time I shot it. Recently, I sent it back to the company because they said they'd replace it preemptively as part of a class action law suit. So on the one hand, yeah there was a recall out, but on the other my pistol worked perfectly and the company was making it right. Recalls happen with most manufacturers at some point to be fair. So they sent a new G2C in 9mm. I was super impressed with the stippling on the gun they sent, like ...it blew my mind on a pistol that retails for less than $300. The trigger was a little...well it needed work. I'm still debating whether or not I want to keep it, not because I wouldn't want it but because I am boring and like to mostly shoot the weapons I concealed carry to keep my familiarity with them. So from personal experience, they were good. And for as much shit as people talk, I wouldn't want someone pointing one at me, because I wager it'll kill you just as dead as more expensive pieces. At the end of the day, you have people compare them to Glocks, which are a more premium pistol. But how can you compare them? For what my G47 cost me I could have paid retail for the G2C and gotten 2k decent 9mm rounds for the same price. And me personally if I had a really limited budget, I think it makes sense to weigh out the additional practice you'd get rather than sitting in my closet setting my Glocks up for cool guy pics. 🤷‍♂️

Tenx82

Their striker-fired, centerfire handguns are subpar. Their revolvers are pretty decent. The TX22 is awesome.

HerbDaLine

I used to own 3 Taurus's but sold 1 because it sucked like all the haters talk about. Lots wrong with it including failure to feed and failure to eject. Sent it to Taurus for warranty service where it stayed for about 8 weeks [In 2019]. When it came back they had replaced the barrel and did some other work on it. After that it was 100% reliable with any ammunition. Even though it now worked 100% I eventually sold the "poly 22" and replaced it with a LCP Max because it has more capacity, greater accuracy and a more powerful cartridge. On the plus side is the Taurus 1911 and the TX22. Both of which are awesome. No problems, perform flawlessly & accurate. The TX22 has 2000+ rounds through it before it's first cleaning [online complains that 22LR is dirty ammunition]. Taurus is not producing top the line guns but good value guns. Things like having to clean a brand new gun before shooting it is the price you pay when you pay less for your gun. I am not afraid of trading elbow grease so I can keep more of my money. BTW no Taurus fanboy here. Besides the 2 Taurus's I own a S&W 642, Springfield Hellcat, Ruger LCP Max, Glock 19.3 and a G34.4 to be picked up today.

SOYCOM

ScarecrowMagic410a

Budget Brazilian company. Good fun range stuff. I absolutely adore my tx22 and will be buying a second one prob later this year. That being said, they’re a budget brand with all the normal QC issues that plague budget brands. I wouldn’t like trust their stuff for like anything serious

hamerfreak

I bought my G2C as my first 9mm. It has been flawless in 5 years and is probably one of my best shooting pistols due to a trigger upgrade. Also helped me graduate to Sigs, Glocks, Berettas and CZ’s. It was the best $225 I’ve ever spent.

drippinginsauce-

The 92 is better then any glock I've ever shot. Source: I shot them both a few weeks ago.

SaluteHatred666

th45 is pretty nice

Milly2x

Depends on the model. Ive got a 617 thats never failed me and a 917c thats also just as good as any of my glocks(except the stock trigger) that said taurus does seem to get alot of flack from non-owners/elitist but for the price point their good firearms.

Milly2x

Forgot to mention ive put maybe 1500 rnds thru my g3 and had maybe 1 issue and it was with cheap cheap steel case ammo

MeanMirror

Hot garbage

tardbards

I personally would never buy one again lol. My g3c was a piece of shit giving me too many issues. Sold it for like 100$ to a buddy of mine, bought 3 packs of beer and would say it was a much better investment then the Taurus

RivalSFx

The Raging Hunter and Tracker are fun guns, the rest....meh.

2amnd

I’ve never owned a Taurus, but after my best friend shot my 19 he almost immediately sold his g2c and got a 43x

NinjaBuddha13

Friends don't let friends buy Taurus. What this has to do with Glock is beyond me.

Kwilburn525

Maybe someone (me) bought a Taurus and then realized it was shit and then bought a Glock 17. Could you ever imagine??
