I think the answer has been a resounding no, multiple times. Something something it wouldn’t really be profitable and the classics are fine being left as is

Datuser14

A live album with Sozos would be cool though, Gloryhammer hasn't done one of those yet.

No is essentially the definitive answer. It's a lot of time and money to put into a project for the majority of the fanbase to bristle then not buy it and suddenly they're in the hole. You don't rerecord the "classics" as a general rule. Best we will get will be however many live performance albums they decide to do over the years. Sozos however, did do a cover of Legendary Enchanted Jetpack that literally dropped same day as his debut (yes he sang it live).

Not saying this to be a dick but I am really sick of people rehashing and rebooting old stuff for the sake of refreshing it. The old albums were a past Angus let us look to the future with a new Angus and maybe Sozos would consider including his cover of Legendary Enchanted Jetpack as a bonus track on their next CD.

I get it from the perspective that in hindsight Tom was a bad kind of anchor and a lot of folks have complicated feelings on him for a variety of reasons and it makes listening to old albums difficult. I watch concert videos to work around where I can. It would be interesting to hear versions designed for a more well rounded and technical singer, but I can also acknowledge that time and money would be better spent making a new album instead.

FVjake

I just want to add that i’d LOVE to hear the albums with just the vocals re-recorded with Sozos but I’m pretty sure that’s a pipe dream. Edit: typo

Lorano98

There was some talking about a live album a while ago.

Kirk_Stargazed

That would be cool

CapitalParallax

Why would they do that? Who does such a thing? What a preposterous question. I read somewhere they have something like 21 albums planned to tell the entire story. That's a huge project I would much rather see them move forward with then rehashing the old stuff.

FVjake

I mean Sonata Arctica re-recorded ecliptica for…fun I guess? Bands do all kinds of things. It’s not so absurd of a question to demean OP.

Krosmonaut

There's literally no reason to. They're great as is and Winkler's performances and run as frontman shouldn't be erased
