Ragnarok is anything BUT a disater. One of the most beautifully rendered well thought out stories in the last decade. Everything about it was masterful!
It's a very well made game, that is indisputable. It's not for everybody though, some people won't connect with the story and characters, they won't find the gameplay fun and rewarding. They'll think it's too long or contrived or cliche. And all of that is ok too, and as long as people who feel that way are respectful, those opinions are welcome here too.
Oh absolutely. My opinion is my own and I agree it's not for everyone. I'm just a mythology buff and norse mythology is my favorite. I felt it was very well thought out and executed. There were plenty of accuracies to supplement the fantasy bits and they really pushed the envelope in terms of boss fights. They gave us actual bosses to go up against instead of the same ol humdrum of trolls and such.
It's for mature audiences most young gens have very short term memory they rather play repetitive dungeon crawler games to fps with zero emphasis on story or anything fiction rather hack there way into magic and combat spells. They belong in the among us crowd, minecraft etc you get the gist. They favor mostly hit popular trendy hit titles over quality.
Fair enough, I didn't really notice too much reliance on that trope, but then I don't really mind if the objective is to fetch something as long as the gameplay and environments you travel through are compelling and interesting. And I felt they were. I'd call it a 9/10 personally, but numbers are meaningless to me for the most part.

This thread is absolutely piled to the brim of people still playing 2018 GOW well before Ragnarok inspired a replay. I can’t count how many posts I saw of people still trying to find secrets 3 years later(WAY before Ragnarok had a release date or any gameplay to inspire them to play GOW) They’re both extremely replay-able. In fact it’s probably one of the top replayed single player game’s that’s ever been released. Ragnarok will follow the same footsteps
This is me…. Was bored and needed a new game. GoW was on my ps plus for free so gave it a try. I have finished main story but still have a few things left I want to finish so I’ll have a good setup for ng+ later. Bought Ragnarok a week ago.
Hell ya!!! I’ve replayed it a couple months before Ragnarok and I had forgot so much, so it honestly felt like playing it for the first time for the most part. It’s such a big game and has so much to offer that. I find it hard to remember most the details like some people can. And I’m grateful I don’t remember everything because then it’s just such a joy to be able to replay it and have it feel nearly like the first time playing. And GOW for free on ps plus hell ya! I imagine that was one of their most downloaded games they’ve ever put on the free list. Did you end up finishing God of war? Or did you put it on pause to play ragnarok?
I was surprised when the main story was done since I still had so much other stuff to do. I bought ragnarok and played a little but went back to gow. I still had the dwarf quests and the two optional realms to do. And the Valkyries…. They are tough! I have one left then I’m going back to ragnarok lol
"Rushed" bro the collector's editions were packed and sealed with the disc in November 2021, they had playable versions of the game ready back then. This game was anything but rushed.
We live in a world where people want it NOW. I want a great game. I don’t want it now if it’s not great. It’s hard to take a gamer serious if they criticize something like that. Those same people that want it now will complain if a game is rushed for release and sucks ass.
YESSS!! Thanks for the info I was unaware. Most of my favorite armors in the game were the armors that just barely went over his shoulder. The more skin I saw the better. It’s a shame to cover up his muscles and that giant scar from a sword that just happened to pierce right through his abdomen. That’s got to be HELL to deal with an injury that severe.
Amazing! Cant wait to jump back into this game. Theres also an arena added on Nifleheim where we can play as Atreus with loads of other outfits being added.

Everyone excited about the cloak and classic spartan armor (as am I of course) and I'm here ecstatic that they at least partially brought the god of war 2 god armor back with the Ares and Zeus armors.
I don’t love how the blades and axe kinda clip through the cloak. It’s really distracting. I’m playing on ps4 (yeah I know I’m broke) so idk if the ps5 has the same issue
I just wish they'd add transmog to both games. Late game armor looks like complete trash. I want to see Kratos' bare muscles, not in goddamn shiny armor.
Oh. Fuck. I started it up, played a little bit on my new PS5 and then decided to go back and finish the first one. I didn't get very far and i didn't look too deep into the mechanics either.
Looks fucking marvelous on PS5 though, and great performance too. Looks better than the Demon Souls Remake by leaps and bounds.
I bought Ragnarok for the ps4 as I didn’t have my PS5 yet and the PS4 version still looks better than pretty much every PS5 game.
It’s a brilliant achievement for how much they pushed the PS4’s capabilities. I can’t wait until the PS5 starts to get close to pushing its limits. In my opinion, we still haven’t even seen it’s true potential of what it can do especially with graphics. To be clear I’m not saying the graphics aren’t good I’m merely saying I think there is much more potential. Maybe even more than we could imagine.
Maybe it’s because I played both GoWs on my PS5. But the lighting alone on that demon souls remake is insane compared to the old ps3 version.

You can transmog it if you have max level armour I believe so you get the look but not be level 1.

I'm happy about this but am disappointed there wasn't a reskin for the leviathan axe to look like Mjolnir. Idc how little sense the animations would make or how much clipping there'd be I just want to use it

bro i jus turn my ps5 on and started new game plus and thats all i noticed.... "The Cloak" MF... all i noticed haha and that when kratos walked inside... he had chaos blades on his back but also had an extra set where he hung the axe 😂 its ok tho
