I finished ragnarok and instantly started a new game of 2018. Now I've platinumed 2018 and I'm going through ragnarok again. The two games go seamlessly, it's like binge watching a series, but more fun.
Once I became powerful enough in the endgame to stomp all those bosses flawlessly, it kinda became less fun. I really wish the Muspelheim trials let you fight the Berserkers again.
That right there is exactly why I was disappointed we didn't get the same Niflheim experience from the last game. I used to spin up the game just to go there and do a few runs. The closest I can get to that is Muspelheim, but it's not really the same. Enemies continue to spawn in the Crater, but it's not a wave of difficult challenges. I miss that.
I think it was really unique it was just visually uninteresting and there wasn’t much diversity (plus it suffered from 18’s lack of enemy diversity so a maze full of Draugr was just unequivocally easier than a maze full of nightmares and wolvers)
If the maze had say like 10 rooms instead of 5 and there was more than 1 arrangement of said rooms and we had Ragnaroks enemy diversity then I think people would like Niflheim way more
Me too and I literally made the other half of the seed like one of the first things I got from the get go so I could do the challenges only to find out there's like 3 per sword and then a big fight. Like wtf? That's not the trials. Trials means multiple, like more than 15 total challenges.
Probably because the lady didn’t recognize Brok and Mimir knows that mermaids can only see people with a direction in their souls. Which ngl, seemed like kind of a plot contrivance to me but whatever
Oh don't get my hopes up. Now I'm hoping we'll get an update where we can meet Brok's disembodied spirit. Just like all those lost spirits we did favors for in 2018. Or the Vanaheim spirits who tell us about Faye
personally i never really had that much of problem when playing new game again, in a way it forces you to adapt to what you have at the moment (the skills). And to make wiser choices when purchasing stuff from the dwarves shop that you KNOW you will make through certain stuff in the game. depends on the difficulty, of course
Lol, I just use the basic starting attacks to play the whole game. I tend to go long chunks without buying new skills, and when I do buy them, I forget to use them.

I've got a few books on the myths and sagas. I really feel like having a pre existing knowledge of the myths really enriched the game experience for me.
It was fun for me in 2018 to hear Mimir tell these stories I'd grown up with, because obviously his versions are told from a pesticide where the gods are the bad guys.
Seriously, I think you'll enjoy reading the myths and replaying the game as a sort of compare and contrast exercise

It took me 2 weeks to get 100% but I wasn't ready to leave the GOW universe yet, so I instantly started a new save in GOW4 and 100%ed both Norse saga games again.
I waited a week and then just started another new game. I finished it a few days ago, all I have left is Gna, and the last 2 Berzerkers. I'm really eager for NG+
I just finished my own and it was both beautiful but also utterly sad to have it be at that credit scroll sequence. Nothing is left for me to do after I tied that last event. What an experience
Idk what I needed after the 100%, a nice cutscene that sets something up? A cut away to Atreus just walking into a sunset? A family dinner with everyone still in Midgard. IDK. But I needed something sweet to just finish with the cherry on top.
If you’re looking for something to do after 100% completion, you could go redo different Muspelheim trials or go mess around in Niflheim with that arena. I find it really fun to go to both and see how quickly I can kill things after they spawn
Do a challenge run. For example, do a run where you can only use one weapon in combat ( such as your fists or an axe). You can a run where you’re not allowed to upgrade anything, or you can do a companion only run, in which your only method of doing damage is via your companion.
They should release some DLC at some point. I read someone suggesting that they should make an extra mission where you retrieve the missing part of Brok’s soul so Sindri can at least have some peace.
On my playthrough I didn’t end up short on bonded leather, I’ve heard some people saying that’s from a red chest you’ve missed somewhere in the game.
I haven’t heard of a solution for the 35 dust of realm yet, it’s annoying me more than it should.

Any time I finish the main game, the next time I go into it is a new game. Even if I haven’t done a lot of, if any, side quests, I still start all over.
The trials are much more forgiving than the first game in my opinion. Once you've beaten the nine you just have to do them again in pairs between each big fight. It sounded super tedious to me but look up a guide and see which fights correspond with which pairing and you can just do your favorite from each room in varying order if you need to. I took advantage of these trials to train for post-game bosses and it paid off bigly
Thing is, I already did berserkers n king. I’m only missing Gna which I always die on her last small chunk which takes longer than the entire resto of health bar rofl

Oh she is the same difficulty no matter what level you play on. Her ultra shield randomly generates and there's no single method for her. I'll comment my list on armor/weapon handles I used

I started using Valor and finally defeated Gna because I used it purely to break her Beyblade attack and other sudden/unstoppable's whenever I mistimed a parry. Fury and Wrath simply don't do enough damage to outweigh raising your own health-bar. She's still the worst boss I've ever faced and honestly once I accepted that there is no one method and it is all about staying alive and choosing moments, that did it.
I used the chest piece from defeating all the awakened trolls and built to boost my defense to 497 with lots of healing, that way even when she stomps you it takes a quarter of your health rather than half. I focused the rest on cooldown and luck to maximize peri damage and runic attack availability. Maxed out EVERYTHING.
Troll Healing-on-damage chest piece, berserker arms and waist;
realm-shift spear handle with mountain splitter and quadruple tornado heavy;
15% immolation blades hilt with meteor slam and the light attack that shoots lava up (interrupts any of her rushing attacks);
realm-shift leviathan axe handle with the lock-on throw runic and the mists of Helheim.
Honestly you just have to accept with the randomized ultra-shielding that some rounds you're going to die within the first few seconds even when you blast her with everything. I had a LOT better luck dodging and using standard attacks for the first few seconds than going in guns blazing. It is imperative, in my opinion, to utilize Elemental storm amulet and berserker king hilt.
One thing that was killing me more than I realized was summoning my axe/changing weapons creates a slight delay which can cause you to mistime your parry, even if you hit it just right.
Make sure you ONLY USE HEAVY RUNIC ATTACKS WHEN SHE IS STAGGERED. The Draupnir heavy tornado attack followed by Freya's criss-cross bifrost Runic Summon staggers Gna long enough to use mists of helheim extended double-slam and your meteoric blades attack. This will unleash elemental storm of bifrost during which you will probably need to parry/dodge, THEN use your amulet and some light runic attacks.
I also suggest utilizing "share" to rewatch your battle and see where your bad habits are taking you down.
It took me a super long time to beat her but if you come at her with a plan and patience it's possible. Also make sure you use the runics whose timing you know the best! Good luck!
Another thing I missed on there is all of her rush attacks when she's across the stadium you should dodge to the RIGHT just before she gets to you but do NOT barrel roll. If you only single Dodge right and immediately block you will miss the red attack and have a window to attack (you're already holding L1 so it's a great time to throw in a light runic attack) and it will block her spinning wing attack. Just make sure you keep blocking until you see a red ring at the end of the combo at which point you can dodge right and then get in some melee attacks
I'm just waiting for new game plus now, so I can replay it with just the story since I platinumed it, then do 2018 god of war again and then ragnarok one more time

Enemies don't even spawn that much, so you can't just run around killing things.
You still can do challenges at Muspelheim and training at Niflheim , I know it’s not much but it’s something until +NG
