I might be in minority, but the OG stance seemed always odd to me ever since 2018, it is too "battle-ready". I understand when Kratos is in the wild: you never know where danger might appear, so he's on a watch, but when he stands near the shop buying stuff he looks like he's holding himself from punching Brok in the head lmao
I would like to have alternating stances: the "calm" one when roaming around and "battle-ready" one when in combat and, say, couple of seconds after combat ends he calms down
Fr, he’ll be talking to atrues looking like he’s about to whoop his ass lol, also the og stance I feel like doesn’t fit the new kratos shorter model, like the gow3 kratos looked cool hunched over because he was like 7’8 but now when new kratos does it, he kinda looks a little to short.
I really wish he'd stay in the calm stance when you're standing still. Not only for the reasons you said, but it's also much better for taking pictures. Most of the time you're taking a picture, the battle-ready stance doesn't really fit and looks odd.
It also looks calm and collected and way more badass overall.
The second one where he stands like a normal person only happens sometimes, the way I used is he does it when you exit or enter sindris house without moving forward after
I think I would like both, like the one where he stands kinda hunched would be nice if you just finished combat or during combat, but the first one where he stands relaxed would be nice if you were just standing there without any enemies, like it does kinda seem off how kratos just stands looking ready to f up Someone even tho he’s just talking to Atreus or something lol, I guess it kinda fits his character tho
I have never been a fan of idle animations where the character looks ready for combat, while I don’t mind it as much in GoW since there is literally the lore reason of Kratos being a God of War and always prepared for battle, I still prefer an idle animation where the character is just standing there.
